EmekaMD:
Just a few months ago our brothers from the SW were bragging how Ambode used to be the best performing gov.
Immediately their Lord Tinubu said otherwise they're changed.. he now became a poorly performing gov..

Talk about Tinubu being their Lord and Savior
Point of correction, most Lagosian despise Tinubu. He has been an essential evil but his time is up. Nobody is anybody Lord and Saviour. No sentiments.

Ambode shot himself, forget all the trash this ones are saying, if Ambode had really been good to the people of Lagos like the fashola he's trying to ridicule people would have stood up for him.
Let him face the fruit of he's hatred and wickedness towards fashola.

Apart from Jakande i doubt any Governor performed better than Fashola in Lagos state yet one ondo man is here trying to rubbish all fashola did for the state.

While leaving office i believe all those people fashola employed that Ambode sacked would be celebrating including the PSP operators and co. He should kindly get a bag to carry his VISIONSCAPE who lack vision on cleaning lagos and his 500% hike on land use charge. Pensioners who retired 2015 havent been paid a dime since they retired and bros is busy building bustops upandan on bad roads. Abegiiii
Which Fashola are you talking about. It was mostly propaganda. About PSP operators, many of them are owned by party members who have no business running a waste management company. A successful waste management system can't be achieved when you have hundreds of mushroom PSP companies that lack professionalism or finances to run them. For a state like Lagos, at most there shouldn't be more than 5 to 10 private waste management companies. Each with a working system and resources to do the job. That's the way it's done in advanced economies.

Go back to whoever is paying you to be an online mercenary. It's not working. We, the true Lagosians know Ambode is performing brilliantly.

So, Ambode is from Ondo according to you. We know ourselves. Ambode is a Lagosian from Epe. "Awa ara wa tiri rawa o, ologini tiri omo ekun".

She should shut up abeg.

I work for both the LGA and the the state.

The main challenge they the LGA and LCDA chairmen and Chairwomen have with Ambode is over allocation and nothing more.

The governor used to be part of the LGA for many years and very conscious of the corruption. LGA chairmeb that can't even fix roads in their wards, yet the governor has been doing it for them, covering their inadequacies. Come and challenge me. I'm talking based in facts.
Ask her how reachable she is to residents in Herbert Macaulay and Yaba environ? All the roads in her LGA are bad, what did she do?

How many proposals were submitted to her office that when people visit, they say the chairman is not around

When Ambode came on board in 2015, the assessment of all roads in every LGA/LCDA was done.

They agreed and struck a deal to split LGA funds, with a part going back to the LGA and other part be used to fix roads. But the supervision and execution was to be done by the state government. Salaries of almost N7billion is being paid from Alausa on the 22nd and 23rd of every month and there's no issue, until Tinubu and his cronies came up.

Ask yourselves were the roads done? Is Ambode performing the task as expected? Yes he is. That's the koko
Thanks for providing this credible information.

Science/Technology › Re: Major Earthquake Likely In Abuja, Kaduna, Ogun, Oyo, Bayelsa – NASRDA by ajl:
Icon4s:
I can see you are a Geologist. So lets talk Geology.

It is true that we were taught that much of the African Plate is Seismically stable especially our part of the plate. Where are the seismically active zones? The Plate boundaries. Are we at or close to any major plate boundaries ? No.

Now, I would personally use the word ''Passive'' to describe the Seismicity of much of Nigeria particularly where we have the basement complex. Why ''Passive''. There are strike slip faults that exist within the Ibadan Unit and North Central Basement complex. Faulting is an indication of seismic activities. It simply means those zones were once seismically active before gaining equilibrium. When something is passive it simply means it was once active in times past and can become active at any time in the future. We could be close to that future as we are already begining to see indications from Ogun, Oyo (part of the Ibadan Unit) and Abuja and Kaduna (Part of North Central Basement Complex). The case of Bayelsa may just be due to human activities like Oil Exploration and exploitation.

Now, on the issue of indiscriminate sinking of Bore-Holes as a remote cause. It is very possible but not likely a major cause. Bore-Holes no matter how Deep are too relatively shallow for the effect of ground water extraction to cause a major in-balance in the Earth's subsurface. These water are typically found in the interstitial spaces of acquifers. Mother nature has made it such that there is never vaccum. The draw down created by this water extraction will creat a pressure differetial that will allow water to migrate from other areas to fillup the void spaces created by the water being extracted and then also God has blessed us with plenty of Rains even in the Abuja and Kaduna area. This has ensured a continuous recharge of the acquifers either directly by infiltration or rise in water table occasioned by rise in River levels. So I Particularly find it disturbing that an agency such as that will put a major blame on bore Hole activities.

And as for the Mpape area where there are quarries for granitic materials used for construction, the quarrying activities may have created an inbalance especially as there is a strike -slip fault passing below the area which could be respeonsible for tremors.

By and large major Earth quakes are not expected in Nigeria. What we may have are low magnitude Earth-quakes or Tremors.

Now what is your take?
Not sure I agree with your point on water from other part of aquifer migrating to an aquifer zone that water is being drawn from. Yes, we know that aquifer water also move by convection or other forms of transport from one point to another but when rate of water extraction exceed the rate of replenishment then the level of water table drops below original level leaving interstitial air-filled pore spaces that are devoid of water. That's the kind of situation the agency is referring to. It's not new. Sane way excessive oil extraction is linked to earthquakes in certain parts of the world.

Let's use this analogy. Which is going to be easier to press down from top by compaction? A square shape sponge that is water soaked or same type of sponge with lot more air spaces?

In a earthquake situation, I am assuming that seismic wave velocity will be faster in rocks with lot of air-spaces than in rocks that is fully saturated with water. Hope that make sense when you think of seismic waves from earthquake or earth tremors epicentre and how it affects areas that are far from the epicenter.

Great point. As far back as Buhari years as head of state in the 80s, when I was in my early teens, I have been a solid supporter. Also supported him in 2014 election and I was hoping for the best. But not anymore. I mean, which sensible President or human being will attend a wedding in merriment and in full glare of the public just few days after hundreds of your citizens were massacred. And about integrity, he does not have one. Members of his inner circle enmeshed in corruption or sharp practices are not shown the way out. How long it took him to fire his SG. If you are a team leader and has no solid results to show for it, are you not supposed to reorganize your team by allowing non-performers to go. It's almost 4 years, no cabinet reshuffle among a team that took Buhari 6 months to put together. How many of them have been accused of lacking one required credentials or another. Buhari is not a competent leader for a plural society like ours. This is coming from a former staunch Buharist. We deserve better. Not Atiku or Saraki... a young, agile leader with the ability think issues through. How can people in their 60s to 80s be making decisions and shape the future for people who are largely in their 20s - 30s. It can't work because they don't have a clue how the world work or the direction of things in the world.

Actually they don't have to break the window except if there are no panel beaters around to assist open it. This is within the city and not the middle of no where. The only issue is the child getting exhausted. People over reaction alone would cause the child to panic and continue to cry. Imagine yourself as a child trapped in a car and on the other side is a crowd surrounding your mother and in some kind of argument. You would panic. In situation like this all need to be calm as to avoid the child panicking. What if the mother move much closer to the window in smiles and action that reassure the child, while others quickly seek options for opening the door. But in all you can't wait forever. If I am in this situation, I will wait for a maximum of 10 minutes if there is no other option of gaining entry into the vehicle, then I will break the glass.

First, he should sack all appointed commissioners etc. Stop every contract handled by Tinubu and award to another company. Make a public statement about his actions and Tinubu's greed . With this Tinubu will know that he is a man.
Am not sure if Ambode has the heart for such fight. I wish I am in his position. He does not realize how much power he has, and that he actually can bring Tinubu down and into the abyss. Mr Man, if you don't know something, just stfu. If the party leaders can not enjoy the governor, how will the ordinary masses enjoy him!? Ambode has nothing to offer than pride. He forgot there would be a second term. He burnt the ladder he climed up, but the ladders stood strong for him to climb down, they will only be stupid to let him climb them again, knowing fully well that this time they have nothing to hold him ransom to. Lagos is more dirtier than ever, making plans to substitute fanfo with private tuish buses, have you thought of how many drivers will be out of job? They are trying to save lagos, you are all here saying trash.
Problem Ambode is having is because he refused to dance to the tune of the crooked party leaders. Many of them were PSP operator, a business they had no business running..... The fraudsters preyed on the victim susceptibility after she lost her sister. Her supposed friend sold her out. I believe the goal was to use the content in her phone against her. Many women carry their nude or semi nude pictures or videos in their phone. The suspects thought releasing the nude images would keep her silent because of the shame. It would have been double jeopardy to loose her marriage and N75 million.

Question is, was her real husband conversant with her investment and the money sent to the fraudsters before the bubble burst. I feel sorry for her. That money is huge, just about $215,000. I am guessing she probably raised the fund by taking loan off the equity of her mortgage or home. People here won't borrow you that kind of money. Now she run the risk of losing her house if she fall behind on her mortgage. If what I am thinking is right, it's like being thrown back to square one, like back to 5th year of a 30 year mortgage even though you had paid it off or close to paying it off before going to your bank to request cash off your home equity. Just a thought.

of what use is increased minimum wage with high inflation? it comes back to same if not greater economic problems! My own take pls!
Increasing the minimum wage won't happen in isolation since other economic programs will be implemented. When you increase spending power of workers by increasing wages, this stimulates economic production and manufacturing including employment since manufacturers and service providers will want to meet increased demand for products and services. But an important question for Sowore is how lack of electricity will not thwart economic growth after increasing workers purchasing power.

Apparently, most youths here lack capacity to think reasonably to the point of asking credible questions.

Would you believe that Nigeria bugdet can be financed without even touching revenue from petroleum export. I think you need to realize that some people won't throw out numbers without giving deep thought and examination of all numbers at hand. Sowore is a well informed individual. Even, I... Politics › Re: Minimum Wage: Expect N100,000 From 2019, Sowore Tells Workers by ajl:
Nigerian youths, going by some of the responses am seeing here, cannot reason logically anymore. Sowore said he would promote export of marijuana to be used only for legal medical purposes and for other legal uses as production of oil, and cloths. He is mot saying he would legalize local smoking of marijuana. One state in the United States made $1 billion from marijuana production. But Nigeria with one of the best variety of marijuana in the world is burning it. God help these people. They are just "blind".

After he announced that he would increase minimum wage to N100k, the Fed Govt also promised an increase to N66k. So, you can reason that it's possible. Also, about a week he said, at a town hall meeting, he would make June 12 the new democracy day, the Fed Govt stole his idea and hurriedly announced June 12 as new democracy day.

For those talking about inflation, if your senators can be paid N50 million every month and crooks in government can launder billions in dollars and Naira, then why can't workers be paid what they genuinely deserve.

Morocco and Tunisia currently export power to Malta and France through solar energy generation. Even President Merkel of Germany was advising Buhari on her recent visit why Nigeria is doing nothing on renewable energy like solar. Sowore promised thousands of jobs through his renewable energy program to produce power via solar since people will be needed in the tens of thousand to assemble solar panel.

But you all have been mentally bastardized to the point of submission. It's your lives and you are on the way to wasting another 4 years.
