I think it is better to showcase than showing him with cars, women and money every time. That will be a better source of inspiration than those. Is experience may benefit others .

Seems Buhari has finally realized that this is his last tenure. Reason why he has been shooting himself in the leg. And thankfully the symbolic visit by young Macron to herald in the generational shift in Nigeria's polity. Not sure if Nigerians note the symbolic essence of his trip and message from the G7.

Stop glorifying America. If you are not one of them there is a ceiling you may not go beyond in corporate America especially if you work in an entirely Caucasian dominated group. The HR decided to let you go on in the interview process for specific reasons:

-You are to be a very employable candidate even though you do not have required network for the market.

-Because you seem to be s good candidate the HR decided to leave the final decision to the COO.

Move to Lagos if you are really keen about getting a job in Lagos.

pocohantas:
I had to read her post again, I think the questionnaire listed some benefits. She replied she doesn't PARTICULARLY advocate for marriage based on the listed things[i.e its benefits transcends the listed]. We need to know what that lady listed for a start.

Looking at it logically, do you think if women [African/NIGERIAN women] were very independent, they would be jumping into marriage the way they do? I really do not think so. For a lot of them, it is a poverty alleviation programme. Even the men know this, one reason some want a woman they are richer than. If she doesn't submit to him, she must submit to his money or back to her father's mud house cheesy

It is actually funny she is married, going by her closing statement.
Most Nigerian women get married because of one of the following set of reasons:

-Economic
-Social or cultural
-Economic and Social

Few get married for the sole purpose of a marriage. When you start listing the benefits of marriage even before getting married then you already established your main motive for wanting to get married and looking for an individual that could guarantee those benefits. If you are at peace with your choice, then go ahead. But you will soon realize than life scripts are not inscribed on stones.

Pls read my post very well to understand.

Freeze was saying that Fela is better than Christianity which foreigners passed unto us. That is clearly wrong. Christianity has prevent many people from exercising evil thoughts or even holding them. It has brought lots of good today. What has Fela done to benefit you and me other than talk, same talk political activists have been doing before he was born? His music has influenced many youths to smoke weed and engage in hard drugs. Yet you believe Freeze is right by placing him above not just any religion but Christianity.

So, who would make heaven among Fela and our present day pastors.

Is it one who was born rich but who choose to live poor. Is it one who fought and suffered against oppression even when he did not have to or one who choose to remain on the side of oppressors and pilferers. Is it one who opened his doors to the helpless and poor or one who closed his doors against the poor even after using their money to build the structures. Or is it one who treat all equally with no respect for their worldly accumulations or one who reserved special seats at the fore for only the rich and privilege, including fraudsters and the corrupt, and who knowingly dined and wined with the corrupt.

This boy is a very foolish boy.

Because Fela is revered doesn't make less of an evil man. The only thing people probably admire him for was the peculiarity with which his Music spoke about relevant political and social issues.
6
Truth is not evil. Fela was given a mission on Earth by the Almighty and he kept to the mission. Forget the weed, and multiple wives. God who created him knew he was human, and of the flesh. But did he lied to collect money from anyone? Did he kill anyone? Did he defraud or took any man's wife? Or did he ask any married woman that he would put anointing oil in their private part to solve their problems?

He opened his doors to all, and most especially the poor and helpless. The world could say whatever they want but have the world done better. Take a look at his children and see how level headed they are. Those are his fruits, and they can be used to judge Fela. Truth is of the light. It will.always found it's way into the open. Unfortunately Fela was borne in a hypocritical society. But is that really unfortunate? Actually it is not. God put him exactly where he was needed. Thankfully, God is not human.

No. It should have been "If only Nigerian players can play with same fighting spirit as the Japan team". In terms of skill level many of Belgium players aren't exceptional than our players, aside from Hazard. Nigerian team does not have a fighting spirit and commitment to play the game. It's better it was japan that went ahead to play Belgium. Same way Senegal players (especially Mane) were playing "Big man" on the pitch. This is a 4-your tournament, only lucky players get to play in the world cup more than once, and you got the chance, you came here walking around the pitch as if there is nothing at stake.

Although Japan narrowly lost, I am glad it was Japan that qualified into second round ahead of Senegal because they have and show more passion for the game than African teams. Even though on a one-on-one level Belgium has more quality players but Japanese had intense fighting spirit. And did you see how a quality coach can change a game to his own advantage. Roberto Martinez two substitutes came in to score two crucial goals. Our own Coach could not do a thing because he was not interested in winning the match.

-Which company own this truck or the content?

Vote him out, and who are we going to vote in? Any better candidate?
If Nigerians can't take a chance on their destiny but think doing the same thing will get them a better result, then Nigerians will turn out to be fools of the century. There younger better educated candidate coming out. Ask yourselves, on what criteria was Buhari elected, and has he passed or failed if you used that criteria to judge him.

I was a Buharist. Been a president goes beyond integrity. Buhari has even failed using the integrity criteria because he failed to act against corrupt members of his inner circle. A president need an analytical mind to digest and picture cause and effects of choices tabled before him or her. The individual need a sound mind and extremely sharp sense of judgement. He must be president to all and not just those who voted for him or those from his ethnic group. Right before my eyes at the Chatham in London after winning the election, I heard Buhari say those parts of the country that did not vote for him are less likely to get the attention of the FG. From that day I started having doubt about his leadership quality.

For now, Omoyele Sowore remain a better choice. There can never be progress without taking risk. This is a risk worth taking for a country that has hanged in the balance for over 50 years. It's now or never. Get your PVC.

I am not talking about pampering player or not. But saying if omeruo had taken two more steps, like seriously? That's a foolish statement.
Apparently, most of you here do not play the game even for leisure to understand simple analyses. The point is Omeruo allowed too much space between himself and Messi that any diagonal pass that goes behind would leave him panting to catch up. To prevent that, as a defender, you either take few step to the side to move closer to Messi or you take few steps back to ensure that through ball are not passed behind you. Okocha know what he is talking about. He played soccer professionally for close to two decades.

What statement? Your local coach took us into the second round in 2014. What did your foreign coach achieved in this World cup. Lost almost all friendlies before the World Cup, lost 2 of 3 world cup matches. In a country of 180 million, he brought in a striker that only scored in 3 matches in last 11 matches in the Chinese league. Our local league top scorer would have done better. Rohr is not good enough. Any foreign coach that cannot qualify us for the second round should not be retained. I prefer local coaches. If Rohr is fired today, he will quickly get another job with another mugu African country . That's what they always do. He once coached an African team.

yeah, the coach was supposed to have helped Ighalo and Iheanacho convert their clear opportunities into goals abi?
Useless strikers. huh huh huh
Weldone Rohr
Watching soccer does not mean you all understand the game. At least, if your attackers can't score you need to defend your goal post. There were couple of tactical blunders in this match. The 3-5-2 formation against a team like Argentina would over-stretch the defence. You need two flank defenders cum overlapping defenders. Before the end of the first half, Idowu was already exhausted. The two goals were initiated from his side. Moses experience with that formation at Chelsea helped him but a single slack from him cost us the second goal. We needed at least a substitution in the defense and midfield. Etebo cannot hold the ball and move forward intelligently. You already have Mikel as ball holder. Then change Etebo for Iwobi who can hold ball and move it forward to take pressure of the defense. Ighalo only scored in 3 matches out of 11 last matches he played in China. He does not deserve to be our striker. Any day, Iheanacho is a better choice because he connects with midfield easily. The coach cost us the match. Why didn't he stick with the formation that won us the friendly against Argentina. In the interview after the Iceland match, he said the team is being built for 2022, apparently he was not in Russia to win. Then why waste your time and energy qualifying. We don't need a foreign coach. A local coach took us into the second round in 2014.

Sports › Re: Nigeria Vs Argentina: World Cup (1 - 2) On 26th June 2018 by ajl: 11:57pm On Jun 26, 2018
Statistics show Ighalo struggles in the Chinese league. He only score in 3 matches out of 11 last matches he played in the Chinese League. Compare his style of play to Iheanacho. Iheanacho will always be threat on field compared to Ighalo. Note that Ighalo 7 goals in 11 matches also include one match where he scored 4 goals. He is a flop. Compare his play area on the field to Iheanacho play area who could go deep in the midfield to connect with midfielders. Remember Nigeria first goal against Iceland where kelechi collected the ball in the midfield and the made a pass to Moses who then crossed it to Musa. Coach Rohr is a flop likewise. He doe snot think Nigeria deserve the best players, local or foreign.

No Mr Man. Balogun did n excellent job. It was only Idowu that messed up. But can you blame him. The guy only play in a low level team in the Russian league. The match was too big for him. He was never composed. Both Argentina goals started from his side. The coach was the main problem.

Our coach isn't as good as I thought. He erred by playing Idowu ahead of Ebuehi and playing Ighalo ahead of Iwobi. Apart from these tactical blunders, the lads played a good game.
You are so right. Especially because idowu has been tired from the first half. The match was too big for him to handle. He was never composed. At least Ebuehi substitution would have "killed" some time and strengthen the defense. Rohr need to be sacked. I prefer a Nigerian coach, even if we lost. Truth be told.

The ref would have robbed Argentina if he had pointed to the penalty spot.

That was a clear BALL TO HAND hence no penalty. * Hand remained same position after he headed the ball.*

Had he moved the hand to altar the direction of the ball, then we would have had a legitimate claim against the referee.

I'm very sure majority of us never expected the penalty awarded that birthed our first goal but the referee was quick to point to the spot even without the aid of VAR.

We sometimes suppress facts with emotion.

We had more chances compare to theirs but our conversion rate was zero.

Argentina had their two goals from open play. This describes a team who savors chances when presented.

NFF should for once pretend to be sensible.
Road to Qatar starts tonight.
You do not know soccer rules. With hands stretched out as that, the ball to hand rule does not count. More so, the ball come off his own head onto his outstretched hands. The ref messed up. The world cup organizers surely prefered certain countries to move ahead onto next stage.

I think the coach is either very weak and was bullied by Ighalo to field him (we don't need a soothsayer to tell us Ighalo is a bully) or he has a beef with Iwobi's uncle (Okocha) for critisizing his selection on a national TV after the loss to Croatia. In the match against Iceland, he only managed to bring in Iwobi during the dying minutes. I think we should give our local coaches the chance and for me, Okocha should be given a chance to prove himself. Look at what the Senegalese coach who is a former player is doing.
Like for Okocha if you think he deserves the chance. Shares if you think otherwise.
But does Okocha possess any coaching certificates or has he completed any coachers training.

The coach is not as good as we thought he is. It was obvious few players in our team were extremely tired. Especially our No. 2 (Idowu), and thats why most of Argentina crosses came from that side. Even Messi first goal came from that side as well. The coach should have a made a change towards that last minutes to get pressure of his team and strengthen the defense. We don't really have a coach or excellent players. If a player playing in the Chinese league could be our main striker, then that says it all. It would have been better to take the top scorer in the local league along. At least we will be sure that the guy would be ready to "die' on the pitch because he would be hungry to achieve something. And no ball holders upfront to get pressure off the team. Iwobi would have done better.
