Do you see Senegal's players composure, commitment and energy level on the pitch. Nigeria's player big man mentality. Zero commitment and zero energy level. Even the few that shows commitment on the pitch are eventually discouraged by those who do not have any business on that pitch.
For the fact that I am seeing a Senegalese coach making decision, that's enough balls. I surely switching my support to Senegal. |

A people with no sense of shame. You broke traffic rules and was lucky enough not to get a ticket and the next thing is you are thanking God for "dealing" with your enemy. Who is your enemy here? You are your own enemy.
Even when Nigerians know they did wrong they still have the audacity to call God name. I once employed a lady who ended up stealing my client and used the resources I provided for her to perform her duties to work toward setting up her own business. When i finally got to know, next thing she was calling God name against me. I mean, she literally "stole" from me. |

It is just the same Nigerian factor we are talking about. A disease call Nigerianaisis, that infect the mentality of native Nigerian players once they have small change in their pocket. Nigerianaisis does not show itself in poverty stricken local league players but would show up once same player has found a team in Europe. Nigerianaisis tend to show only mildly in foreign-born Nigerian palyers. |

Sunnyburn2000: hmmm This team had more established players in their prime that the team late keshi took to the world cup Four years ago.
it is all about formation and understanding the type of game that suits us.
like some people observed before the world cup, our best way of playing is being disorganized.
I felt our players were so much under a lot pressure to maintain certain positions yesterday that they were forced to make mistakes that led to two goals, which eventually was main difference Point of correction. The team Keshi took to the World Cup had sizable number of players that played in top teams. No member of the team was playing in mediocre Chinese league. Even the few ones left from that squad are not sharp anymore. It's even beyond that. It is a problem of lack of commitment and passion for the game, and a coach that was taking chances with a woeful formation. |

They have plenty stars in their midfield. It is more about the commitment and quality of defenders they played against. If it were the Nigeria, we would have been drubbed 4 - 0. You don't go to the World Cup to show a lack of passion for the game. This is a rare event that happen once in every four years. |

Its obvious you saw the difference in a disciplined defense/team (Mexico, Iceland) and an indiscipline defense/team (Nigeria). The defense will make the difference when the team midfielders and attackers are not having a good day. And the most of all is the mentality. Nigeria's team lack tactical discipline (as usual) and the mentality of a team with a motive to win a match. Their energy level from kick-off to the end of the match show that. They lost the match even before kickoff.
And look at Germany. See why they call them the "German Machine". You know that until the Ref blow the whistle, they will continue to come at the opponent and you are damn sure a goal is likely. It's not coincidental that the Germans are known for building the most reliable machines. It's a mentality thing. Obviously, Nigerian players lack that as most Nigerians. Commitment. I rather have a committed team with positive energy level and mentality of a winner than have one with none of these attributes. |

ElSakina: We have useless tacticians in the team. I blame the coach in all of these. Yes, we lost the match even before starting looking at the formation and game plan. How in the world can a coach put Mikel, a slow player to .pair Ighalo And why force your most creative player, Iwobi, to the far left rather central midlfield he used to playing. The "Chinese league" pair are not supposed to be on the pitch, except for Mikel's experience. Iheanacho is a better and more creative striker than Ighalo, who was only a one season flash in the pan in the Premiere league. Why did he run to China if he is that good. After the match, I had to go back and watch videos of the 1994 - 98 team. Aside from the two central defenders, none can measure up or be compared to that team. We do not have players. At worst show commitment on the pitch. I mean, look at Iceland. They know they could not match Argentina, skill to skill but they had solid game plan. It was simple, frustrate the enemies. That situation alone put a pressure on Messi to miss that penalty. He just couldn't kick the ball hard. |

boldking: As I watched the Argentina and Iceland match today and wondered why there were no black players in the Argentinean team when other South American teams had black or biracial players, I remembered a conversation I had last year. It was while I was on a cruise from Florida to the Grand Cayman Islands in the Caribbean. Between an Argentinean doctor and myself, who had walked up to me during lunch one day and struck up a conversation with me. There was no hiding the attraction. We had bonded much to the chagrin of her three Argentinean friends. On the deck of the ship that day, she kept going on about how she loves black men and looks forward to traveling so she can meet them. I asked her. "Don't you have black people in Argentina?" She said with a matter of fact candour. "No. Long time ago, after slavery, we killed them all." I was taken aback. She smiled. And continued. "Very bad. I am ashamed of my people. It was very systematic though. Very well thought out. First they forced most of the men to fight for Argentina against Paraguay. They knowingly sent them into battles that were poorly planned so that the Paraguay army will do for them what they couldn't themselves do. Kill the blacks. Most of them died there. The remaining of them they forced to live in this province were there was a plague. A disease that the government refused to curb so that it can also do for them what they couldn't do. Kill the blacks. The refused to set up hospitals, clinics, adequate shelter, food outlets, nothing. They created the best environment for the disease to thrive. It killed the rest of the men that had survived the war. The darker you are, the higher the chance they will send you to that place to live or to the war to die. The lighter skinned women they forced them to sleep with the white men, so that their children are biracial, then they forced the children when they grew older to sleep with white men, so that the blackness of the skin of the children became whiter and whiter until there was no longer any visibly black people seen. It was so bad that blacks fled to Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil and even Paraquay where they were better treated even though not as well as they should be treated as human beings deserving full equality. Atleast those ones did not want to kill them and accepted to give them protection and a means of livelihood. As a matter of fact in Chile, there was a city called Arica where Black people were so accepted and respected that in the 1700s two black free man, one called Anzuréz were elected mayors. But the white colonial masters from Spain came six months later and nullified the elections, they were afraid of other cities giving black people too many rights. But the blacks who had found succour did not complain, they sent word for others to flee Argentina and come join them. Afterall what was cancelled elections compared to certain death?" Then she went silent as though trying to replay the magnitude of the crime in her mind again. Then she said it in a sombre tone in order to drive it home to me. "The ones the Argentineans did not kill through war or disease, and rape and impregnate, fled the country and ultimately we got rid of the blacks." I listened in rising sorrow. She continued academically. "So although they abolished slavery in 1815 in Argentina, it continued until 1853, after that the main preoccupation of the leaders was how to get rid of the black slaves and their descendants. Our president who ruled us from 1868 to 1874, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, wrote in his diary in 1848, this was long before he became president and slavery ended that - 'In the United States… 4 million are black, and within 20 years will be 8 million…. What is to be done with such blacks, hated by the white race?' - It shows that he was already thinking of how to eliminate black people before he became President and when he became President, he succeeded." "Didn't the world say anything?" "No. They ignored it. I am sure most of them wanted to do the same thing but failed. At that time, they admired them. I remember when I will go to Brazil as a child, my father's friend will say in disgust as he looked at the black Brazilians - we should have had your guts and finished them off. All of them. Make Brazil white just like Argentina." "And the Europeans?" She laughed. "It is an open secret, just like King Leopold and his genocide in Congo. No one talks about it, but they know about it. Atleast the older ones do. The younger ones not so much. Why do you think all the Nazis ran to Argentina after World War 2?" I was silent. She continued. "Because it was the perfect place for the most evil racists in history to live." Then she looked out to the infinitely blue sea around the ship and sighed audibly before she continued. " Sadly, to some extent, it still is welcoming and accomodating of racial hatred. We took the Tango from the African slaves and made it our own. In Argentina, not one person will tell you the true history of that dance. They don't want to associate it with Africa. In fact if you ask them about black people in Argentina they will tell you that there has never been black people in Argentina. They teach them in schools. They rewrite the history. They make it all white. And as I said it is all underneath the surface. They never come out and say we hate black people. Argentina is only for whites or anything like that. They have just fixed the country to only be for white people." I looked at her friends, Argentineans like her, who were lounging on the chairs on the deck, clad in their tiny bikinis, drinking pina coladas and smiling. She followed my gaze and then turned to me. "Don't be fooled by all those smiles, scratch the surface and you will see that all they want is for you to disappear." Toronto. Though the bulk of your commentt is not directly related to the title of the original post, I will have to say what indicated is valid. Some videos are available in You Tube about. What they did is called "Whitewas". The black man is under serous threat even in his own land. |

MajesticD: Oh gawd...someone finally made some sense. Chimamanda gave her personal opinion of a situation, of which she is very much entitled to, she never implied directly or indirectly that it should be a standard for the world to follow, but even more importantly she never insulted anybody by having a varied percept from the popular which i think is a quality of a truly educated and civilised person. Now compare that with the response of so called American, go as far as bringing female genital mutilation IN HER COUNTRY to the discuss. There is nothing wrong in pointing out areas a person feels feminist ought to champion and of course that's still a matter of personal opinion, but doing so in manner that implicitly or explicitly insults a country is a show of bitterness and classlessness. I don't think you have a clue the message she is passing across to Chimamanda. It's like saying "go back home to deal with your own issues, this is our issue. Not yours." Chimamanda come across as a brilliant but naive individual with no street mentality. She ought to know that she is not in a good position to play that game with hypocritical Westerners. When you are going too far in their eyes they start by letting you know that "you literally don't belong here". I am talking from experience.
She need not fool herself. Africans did not invent feminism or cronyism. If our people are playing around with these, they only adopted it. She ought to leave them to play their game. Yes, she ought to focus more on issues that has more value to her own people. 2 Likes |

The gene or simply DNA for albinism is a recessive gene (i.e. not expressed) and many people may have it without knowing until one has such child. In this case, he and his wife or his wife and the father of the child have the recessive albino gene. |

Throwback: Even Atiku seems to have recently slowed down on his presidential ambitions. Maybe the feedback from the street is not so encouraging to the old order of politicians.
It is either Buhari wins because there is really no solid opposition among the old order as it is truly the case, or Nigerians overcome their inhibitions and self hate for what is good for them, by embracing only the new ideas and candidates that cannot be said to have played a part in our government inspired failure as a country.
If we were serious at all, we should only be discussing candidates like Moghalu, Durotoye and Sowore.
But it seems even the followership are yet to realise their own power. Well said. Main reason I am rooting for Sowore. But the populace seem to be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. They are deeply in love with their tormentors and "killers" of their destinies. |

plaetton: B.S Immigration is different from police.
Canadian immigration can detain anyone indefinitely for as long as it is necessary to complete an investigation or to determine course of action. In some cases, the detenees ask them to deport them instead of indefinite detention. I have witnessed it many many times. My point is it is illegal for immigration to detain a citizen. |
Travel › Re: Nigerian-canadian Citizen Illegally Detained By Border Patrol For 8 Months by ajl: 6:46pm On Jun 15, 2018 |
plaetton: The reason is quite simple. First, he wasn't charged or was on trial for a crime in a court of law. Therefore, the law enforcement agents have no obligations to share evidence with him until he is formally charged. Secondly, they had to hold him indefinitely for 2 good reasons. First, they could not afford to release him into Canada because he was suspected criminal and deportee. No amount of surety or personal guarantee would be acceptable. Secondly, they could also not afford to deport him until they give him the benefit of doubts pending the completion of their investigations. Thirdly, because of legal challenges presumably from the suspect's lawyer, the immigration authorities were most likely constrained in taking any particular course of action. Which law are you basing your argument on? You think this is Nigeria. People cannot be detained beyond a specific period only if they are thought to be of serious threat to the community, and only a judge can authorize that. A police officer can come up with his/her own law. |

Abiola was schemed out by northern element from being the party flagbearer for the 1983 presidential election. Even though we all agreed that Abiola was cheated of his presidency, deep in the hearts of many, it was karma at work. Abiola was also among those who frustrated the aspiration of Obafemi Awolowo to become president. But nonetheless, Abiola was loved because of his philanthropy.
