Indeed. BAT is a brilliant man. Everything he does is about results.

A lot of people follow bandwagon of general statements. Who can deny Buhari's success in infrastructure?

So if I say I will build on somebody's success and immediately mentioned the area of success, I have done my part. The understanding is your problem, not mine.

One step at a time. I like the sequential way he’s giving the media attention. Not bringing everything all at one.

This is how logic and sense works, and the more reason why the Tinubu force is not something just anybody can stop.

And I’m certain Tinubu will not build on the failure of Buhari. Tinubu is educated, and will certainly not bring illiterates to his team like Buhari did.

These people are the real progressives.

You can see he was categorical about Buhari's successes especially in infrastructure. Don't join the bandwagon of haters.

Same reason why osinbajo has kept mute all this while. In fact, all our southern politicians are in the same boat- they are not prepared to upset their slave-masters in Abuja.

Politics / Re: It Appears The Next President Of Nigeria Will Come From South West by Akanbiedu(m): 8:40am On Dec 29, 2021
NaijirianKing:
Tinubu's real problem is that the religious dynamic is simply not in his favor.

Muslims from the south create a unique problem for themselves politically due to the fact that they either have to run with a Muslim-Muslim ticket to the chagrin of the Christian population in this nation. The Christian population is already in the minority according to the last census, which may or may not be accurate, but it is all we have to go by.

As such, most candidates have to balance the religious aspects of their candidacy, and a Muslim southerner has to run with a Christian Northerner, which of course is reduces the likelihood of success.

Osibnajo likewise has problems if PDP indeed runs a Northern Muslim, as a southern pastor, he is at a natural disadvantage in the North as a Muslim will garner more votes among Muslims. If the SW was wise they would back the SS by returning Goodluck, or throw their weight behind an Igbo man, which is impossible for them. Or they could simply forget this southern presidency scam and field a strong Northerner like El Rufai, but greed has blinded their eyes to political realities.

You are canvassing for power to remain in the north, yet accusing SW of greed. Are you an idiot? Who is greedy here.

Politics / Re: Bidi Akande: Obasanjo, Northern Elites Rejected Buhari’s 2015 Presidential Bid by Akanbiedu(m): 11:07am On Dec 13, 2021
backbencher:

In my opinion, most of the economic issues and youth problems we experience in this country are largely due to being an economy of 'selling raw materials and sharing the money'

Nigeria has always been said to be 'blessed with raw materials' ...but what we do is sell them, and share the money. This is then used to import and import...which has a nice way of stifling industrial growth...and leading to lack of job creation

Also, we use the same revenue from importing to pay for everything, including subsides on petrol and power...meaning that everyone thinks of the economy as a national cake to be shared, not as a national cake to be baked...so fueling corruption and bitterness from those 'left out'

My problem with Buhari, and with all of his predecessors...regardless of tribe or religion...is that they have done nothing much to change that paradigm.

We can no longer rely on selling raw materials to make a living. The revenue is not enough to sustain all of us because we don't sell enough of the raw materials to fund ourselves, and it is never at a price that can sustain us.

It is because the revenue isn't enough that we have 'crisis'. That's why we must stop relying on selling raw materials and stop sharing the money economics, and become an industrial, productive, and job producing nation.

You are right except at the bolded. Buhari has made so much concerted effort to diversify the economy.

Anyone here from Middle-Belt Nigeria (North Central is just a political name), will agree with me that we are one of the most marginalized and deprived groups in Nigeria. It may surprise some of you to know that we are being designated 'Northerners' for wicked political purposes. Other things you need to know:

1. We have the highest number of Ethnic Groups, with Plateau State having more than a hundred languages.

2. Majority is Christian (Probably the reason for their wicked sidelining). The wicked Ones will not agree to this

3. It is the hotspot for Jihadist, Boko Haram attacks. They want to completely conquer it and then head for Southern Nigeria.

4. As it is now, the middle-belt is the reason Northern Nigeria is still surviving (to say the least). Please don't ask me how

5. They will never allow a president to come from the middle belt, because, Kasala go burst.

The wicked will know no peace!

you mean instead of Saturday and Sundays?

you're just reversing the very problem you're trying to point out...

if what you are saying is that the two religions cannot , in principle, co-exist .. that you want an Islamic state , you want sharia , you want want to establish political, Islam..
then you will be @ odds with other religions within the union

that is the reason in the first place we say religion must be put aside from the present nigerian Govt and the Govt must never impede the religion .. that Nigeria is Secular
anyone is free to worship as he deems fit ... any one is free to live as he wants..

you are not deceiving anyone .. your intention is to Islamize everything.. so its natural that there'll be opposition to your agenda..

not my problem

I just asked you a question, I didn't say it has to be Thursday and Friday as an example. Now supposing we agree we are running secular Yorubaland, could you suggest weekend days for the country for example?
Politics / Re: Late Femi Osibonna Was An Unrepentant Religious Bigot- Farouk Kperogi. by Akanbiedu(m): 12:34am On Nov 09, 2021
Geovanni412:
The naked truth is this - discrimination exists everywhere. It is highly unexpected for a Muslim Igbo man from Abia State or Anambra State to win any election in the area. Such a person will likely be treated badly in a lot of social circles in that area. It is trite to state that Northern Christians suffer a great deal of marginalisation from their Muslim brothers. Doesn't it strike a chord that there are very few key positions held by Christians who are Northerners in the country?
If you want to reduce or eliminate discrimination, you have to attack and change the education of a particular group of people.
And in a liberal society, that may not work because the parents and people around will still feed the children with their beliefs of what is right or wrong - this is part of the reason why osu 'caste' system still subsists till date.
The only way to stop people from changing their cultural thinking very quickly is this - the state would have to detain people, torture them and then brainwash them into having certain beliefs. In my view,i don't think a police state of this nature is ideal for society.
The more sustainable option is to create a highly functioning profit- oriented society. There is no person, no matter how racist or tribalistic he is, that will want to do something that is inimical to his economic interest. Donald Sterling, one-time owner of la clippers was racist but he had a black man, Doc Rivers as the team's coach. Also, at least 70 percent of the NBA (us basketball league) players are black men.
Competence will always outstrip discrimination. Nigeria has a system built on kleptocracy and not on competence and that is why we will continue to have high levels of discrimination.
