Amotekun777:Some people dey recommend unripe plantain or red oil with onions. I have laff die.
|
Jobola1:Have a nice day.

obailala:Let's call a spade a spade. The guy is abrasive, opinionated and rude. For the message to successfully pass across, it requires more patience on his part rather than the part of the person explaining the subject to him. But I must say, you really persevered. You hung in there. Even when the guy was being feisty you still managed to treat him with some decorum. I for don abuse dat guy tey tey...
|
obailala:I have been monitoring your conversation with this maasoap guy and I must be very sincere with you... "Guy, you dey try!" How you manage to cope with his stupidity and rudeness combined is amazing. And you're still going at it, trying to explain something to a blockhead. Omo, kudos to you Bro ...

maasoap:Have a nice day. |
WatchYourSix:Read what? You sef no dey read??

Zion243:David is 21 years old. Born on October 12, 2000. He may be vulnerable but he is not a boy. Neither does he need consent from his parents to sell his kidney. I don't think a written agreement exists. That will implicate Ekweremmadu and he can't be that careless. He tried to exploit the "boy" believing he was naive. Him no know say the "boy" na guyman wey get him own plans. |
WatchYourSix:Which UK court will sympathize with someone who is lying and is being manipulative? It will be clear bro all that this guy planned this thing even before he left Nigeria. Him wey dey sell the kidney can also be charged with conspiracy to commit organ trafficking/harvesting. He was of legal age when agreed to be a donor. He wasn't coerced and I am sure Ekweremmadu has sent him an alert or two. He risks jail time just like Ekweremmadu. At the worst he will return to Abakaliki. |
adedayoa2:Him don collect advance payment na. Plus the issue of relocating to the UK still dey on board. Better to lie to the doctor that you are 15 years (or even less) rather than to tell the Ekweremmadus "I no wan do again". |
bjdon:Because he was tested and it was confirmed that he was a suitable donor. When the guy got to UK, he tried to pull a fast one by subtracting 7 years from his age so that it can be used as an excuse to back out of whatever agreement he had with the Ekweremmadus. He thinks he is smart... |
Grandkay21:So David did not go to any hospital in Nigeria for tissue typing to see if he was a suitable donor prior to applying for a visa? When he was going for tissue typing what did he think was going on? David is lying... And his lies have put the Ekweremmadus in trouble. But what he does not know is that he is equally in trouble too. |
WatchYourSix:He will soon start coming back to Abakaliki but he doesn't know. If he gets to stay in the UK, it will be in a prison. |
Ucheamani:PRAISE THE LORD! I have finally met someone with brains on Nairaland. It is not such a cesspool of stupidity after all. Forgive my outburst, but I had lost faith in the value of this forum with regards to rubbing minds and critical thinking. Thank you for these valid points you have raised. I pray people get to read them and they don't come and start spewing garbage for the sake of argument. God bless you, whoever you are. |
int0x80:The guy is trying to be smart. He doesn't know that he is digging his own grave. It is very easy to prove his age. At the end of all this when people find out he has been lying does he think he will still stay in the UK? |
sleek214:He is 15 years. Born in 2007 I guess if my calculations are correct. Poor "boy". Then why does his passport (image 1) say that he is 21 years?? (born on 12 October 2000). Well, maybe Ike Ekweremmadu used his connections to get him a fake passport. But it that was true why is his given age on the NIBSS validation portal ( https://bvnvalidationportal.nibss-plc.com.ng/bvnnbo/login) still say he was born on October 12, 2000?? And this BVN was issued way back on January 31st, 2019 (image 2). Is it that he met Mr Okoro while carrying his ("shovel and head pan " as he said) in late 2018/early 2019 which would be when these documents were arranged so that the age will reflect 21 years? Or is it that Ebonyi people subtract the years from their age as the years go by?? Davidi, Davidi, Davidi,... How many times did I call you? (image 3)

RealityKings:A true story... I have encountered 6 transplant patients in my life. To the best of my knowledge 5 are dead (cause of death was post-transplant rejection). One particular case will always be in my memory. Not because of the patient who was deceased. But because of the donor. The donor was the patient's MOTHER! Everyone in the unit I worked in then had a soft spot for her. Back then she was in her early 50's and it was about 4 years post-transplant. Her son was dead (he wasn't compliant with the post-transplant immunosuppressive drugs, so....). The woman and I were good friends for nearly 2 years until I left the state. She was coming for check ups regularly and had nil sequelae. Her U/Cr was always fine. A very cheerful woman. I know of another case in which the donor was the wife. He died and we lost contact. But last time I saw her she was okay too. Like I said donating a kidney does not necessarily ruin your life. It depends on how well the remaining kidney is functioning. People have a unilateral nephrectomy (ie having one kidney removed) following trauma, people have unilateral renal artery stenosis that results in shrinkage of the affected kidney and the kidney underperforming YET THEIR E/U/Cr RESULTS CAN BE NORMAL. the same way a one eyed man can still be able to see. Before you argue or try to disprove what I have said, run the information you have managed to glean from this post with a doctor (not a "funny website" online or some social media site). A lot of hearsay online has resulted in many people being misinformed. |
maasoap:You kids on Nairaland can be rude sha, but nevertheless.. Who says David Nwamini Ukpo is not of age? He says he is 15 years but the NIS and NIBSS say otherwise (mind you note that his BVN was issued on January 31st 2019 .. If his BVN was also "arranged" by Ike Ekweremmadu do you think he met the Ekweremmadus by then??). If you believe David is 15 years old (despite glaring evidence to the contrary) and that he had no idea what he was going to the UK for, then we have nothing much to discuss. The hearing will come up next week. Thank goodness it will be in a court of law and not the court of Nairaland. Ike Ekweremmadu is not a saint. The charges that you can bring up against him are - human trafficking (since he facilitated David's journey for a purpose) - organ trafficking/ trafficking in persons for the purpose of removal of organs (if it can be proven that David was paid) -The issue of David being a minor and being misled won't hold in court David Ukpo can also face jail time. David willing entered into a contract with the Ekweremmadus and reneged at the last minute. That is conspiracy to commit whatever charge you bring up against the Ekweremmadus. Even worse if he was paid. Whether he was scared to go ahead with the transplant or whether this was his plan ab initio is what one cannot prove... But I believe he had planned it all along.

Newton2024:His date of birth on his passport puts his age at 21 years (22 years later this year). Information from the NIBSS portal where you can check someone's BVN puts his age at 21 years (22 years later this year). He got his BVN in 2019. (see image below) He says he met the Ekweremmadus last year. I want to believe that he had gotten his BVN before he met them. So even if the Ekweremmadus got him a passport with his age stated as 21 years, there was already a pre-existing document with him bearing that age. David now arrives in the UK and his age is now suddenly 15 years?? How manage?? The answer is simple. Either a) He developed cold feet about the whole arrangement or b) He had no intention to donate his kidney at all and was just using the Ekweremmadus as a means to an end I may be wrong but I feel that we are dealing with the second scenario. After he had "scattered" the whole arrangement at the hospital, why did he choose to run from the house he was being kept in? Was it because he was told that he would be coming back to Nigeria? The boy is malicious and wicked. But the truth will eventually prevail. The Ekweremmadus didn't know they were dealing with someone who was street smart. But upon his street smartness, him no know say there will always be a trail of evidence that you will leave behind.

Newton2024:Tissue typing should be done by the same hospital but not necessarily on the same day. Sonia may have been tested months prior. Her records will be in the hospital/labs database. David would have undergone a renal function test (to see if he is fit to donate... the same way they check your PCV before you donate blood) and then subsequently tissue typing (to see if Sonia's immune system will reject his kidney). These things can be done in Nigeria. It's not a big deal to have them done, and I believe they were done. That's why the travel arrangements were made (David was found to be a suitable donor). Does it mean that when these tests were being done in Nigeria (be it in Lagos, Ife, Ibadan or Abuja) David was not aware of what was going on?? Royal Free Hospital in UK will also conduct their own renal function tests and tissue typing on David to confirm that he is a suitable donor because no hospital in the UK will rely on a lab result from another lab in another country. It was during pre-treatment work up that David, for reasons best known to him, changed his age from 21 to 15. |
Vatsyayana:Like I said "... donation should be on ones volition...". When money changes hands for a donation to take place then it becomes something else. At best unethical... At the worst (in some countries) it is a crime. |
maasoap:My dear, I am a doctor. Donating an organ to someone does not necessarily mean your life is ruined. There are many people with one eye, one leg, one functional lung, one functional testicle (and still able to father children), one functional ovary (and still able to give birth) etc. living perfectly normal lives. There are even people born with a solitary horse-shoe shaped kidney living perfectly normal lives. Their renal function tests may even be better than yours or mine (we that both have two...I am assuming you have two )With any paired organ or tissue it is better to have both in case you develop a problem with one. A one eyed man can still see, but if something should happen to that remaining eye that he has then he would then be totally blind. You can donate a kidney and still live a normal life. The only caveat there is that if your solitary kidney should develop problems, then you have nothing to fall back on. That is why people with ONLY ONE KIDNEY for whatever reason (after nephrectomy, after donation, degenerative disease of a single kidney etc) SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON FOLLOW UP WITH A NEPHROLOGIST. They are not sick, but they are at a higher risk of renal failure compared with someone with 2 kidneys. Things usually go wrong when the donor is not regular with his appointments or if there is a problem with the solitary kidney it is discovers late. People are naturally selfish so they will always be sceptical when it comes to organ donation. Therefore, PLEASE, if you have a loved one who needs a kidney and tests show that your renal function is good/excellent don't be hesitant to lend a helping hand. You are saving someone's life. You may be putting yourself at risk but these risks can be minimized if proper follow up is done after the donation. Mind you, the follow up is for the rest of your life. PS: Donating an organ should be on ones volition. Not under duress, deception or coercion. It is unethical (and in some countries illegal) to purchase one (that is where the crime of exploitation and organ harvesting comes in). |
1stGenAmerican:The boy got to Royal Free Hospital at Camden and for reasons best known to him gave a different age (15 years) to the doctor during pre-treatment work up. Of course with the discrepancies in age the doctor had to cancel the procedure (tissue typing had been done in Lagos hence the all clear for him to travel to UK where confirmatory tests would be done). When the Ekweremmadus heard about they were pissed. They knew the boy was playing a game so "dem change am for am". The boy now ran away from where he was staying and eventually the matter ended up with the police. The boy is lying and probably had no intention of donating his kidney. But why ruin a man and his family because you want to go to the UK? When they find out his previously documented age from his passport, NIN number, BVN and bank records (you will state your DOB when opening account now?) that is when he will realize what he has done. He may be the one that will end up in jail... At best, deportation. |
Judeerons32:Even if he was paid the question of jurisdiction and validity of the contract would come up. If he was paid then he must have been paid in Nigeria here... At least a part payment - Is a contract brokered in Nigeria still binding on all parties while they are in the UK? - Can such a contract, even though illegal under British law, be enforced in a Crown court? - Does the court have the power to adjudicate on a contract which ab initio was null and void? If the contract is declared null and void under English law or the court has no jurisdiction to adjudicate on the matter since it was brokered in another country then the Ekweremmadus are in the clear. David lied about his age in order to renege on his own part of the deal and possibly get asylum. The birth date on his passport and National ID card are his undoing. If the date on both documents tally, then his assertion that he is 15 years old would be struck out. With the way things are turning out the Ekweremmadus will get a reprimand but no jail time (hopefully)... But their reputation has been soiled forever. David on the other hand should start packing his bags. His stay in the UK is not feasible. He will be deported back to Nigeria or sent to Rwanda. His deceit will finally be exposed and his chances of entering the UK in future are slim. Whatever Ekweremmadu has paid him so far would be his only profit. |

Mooh247:Everyone has a right to happiness. This man can still be a father to his child without being married to the mother of his child. His wife's behavior has resulted in violence in the marriage and infidelity. The handwriting is already on the wall. He should divorce that woman before it is too late. Marriage is not by force. |
Aufbauh:Abeg, loud it so those at the back can hear.

LikeAking:Very true... But the girl's mother failed to realize that when she tried to blame her daughter's shortcomings on others. If she had kept quiet the matter would still have died eventually. Now, even though it will still die down, over a million people are aware of it. Who is the loser now? |
itchie:She was acting under the influence... She is a nymphomaniac. The urge was just too much for her to bear that night. That girl na Olosho. |
