Only God knows how much ransom was paid for their release. So that kidnapper with Ak47 posing in full glare of the camera wasn't identified & arrested? Makes me want to believe some of our security forces are collaborating with these kidnappers & collecting % cut of the ransom.
For kidnapping and banditry to have lasted this long, then obviously some person(s) apart from the kidnappers is/are benefitting from it.

dasparrow: Today, I saw a customs official on TVC news channel talking about how he gave bandits in the bush 7 bags of rice. Why are bandits being given 7 bags of rice while Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Chief Sunday Igboho are locked up for no other reason but because they called for referendum? Is that fair? Why are people who are causing others hurt and pain being paid money, given bags of rice and offered job positions in the Nigerian army while others who are asking for referendum are tortured in jail or DSS dungeon and the army sent to their home to have them killed?
Bandits and Fulanis herdsmen, despite whatever their grievances with FG, have never threatened the territorial integrity of the country. Violence was a last resort for them.
Igboho and MNK on the other hand are calling for a breakup of the country, even if it is through violent means. These 2 secessionists together with CNN, Twitter and a runaway DJ do not wish this country well.
benuejosh: This is a very contradictory article. The girl ran more than the bullet? Because from the article, the girl did run but not up to even three minutes before the mother took off. So come did they get the mother alone.
The killing was done by HOODLUMS and NOT Herdsmen. The same elements we find in IPOBs. Killings in the South East is being done by this individuals and then they try to blame it on others.
Vanguard has always been a Pro-South East newspaper. Very regional. Herdmen attack revisit was the head story but reading deep it was said to be hoodlums (IPOB - ESN). This was written to indirectly discredit Buhari since he is a Fulani Man. And Fulani men are known to be pastorals.
Nigeria 36th in the world & 5th in Africa. Wonder if ever we will get to our highest ever ranking of 5th in the world. Feat achieved after USA'94 exploits.
Presently, no African team can get a top 5 ranking in the nearest future... unless it wins the World Cup.
The Super Eagles of WC94 were great but in reality they weren't actually the "Fifth Best Team In The World".
The number 5 ranking by the Super Eagles is a feat that will always be difficult to surpass because of the way the FIFA ranking system was then; 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points if a team loses in FIFA sanctioned matches.
A simplistic scoring system, but flawed in the sense that teams are of different strengthshence wins/losses cannot be accurately correlated.
The modern scoring system takes care of these factors by introducing coefficients into the scoring system.
From December '92 (when the scoring system began) till September '94 (about the time we got to 5th) Westerhof's Super Eagles were red hot on the African continent and also had a decent win:loss ratio at the World Cup (2:2).
Their only loss was against Ivory Coast in April '93). They had 8 wins and 2 draws within that period at the AFCON '94 and during the WCQ '94.
8 wins, 2 draws and a single loss. Few teams in the World could boast of such a winning streak in their various federations. This performance was followed up by a good WC94 outing (2:2).
The losses in pre-World Cup friendlies (0-2 to Romania, 1-3 to Sweden) weren't FIFA sanctioned matches so they did not count.
And that is the story behind why Super Eagles became the 5th best team in the World and also the reason why no other African team may ever reach that height.
So much more I am telling you. The column for "Exam" is empty. The students were not even scored zero but there was no entry in that column.
If indeed they sat for the exams, then where are their scores?
There is more to this story. It seems as if their exam results were witheld and their final result at the end of the semester did not include their exam scores.
I smell some kind of vindictiveness but there is a lot more that we haven't heard.

eshcol: I dey wait Wike epic clap back. I trust my governor, he go respond
If I be adviser to Wike I go tell am say, "Oga, abeg leave dis man. No fall ya hand because of dis kind tin. Why him mouth dey sharp na on to say na just now now wey dem feed am. When food don finish, na another song wey him go dey sing"
Adebaba1: I resigned on September 30 2021 and my boss has delayed my salary for the past 13 days now. I have tried to call him but he didn't pick my call. I sent him messages on WhatsApp, he refused to respond despite reading it. This is one of the reasons why I resigned...delays salary till on the 10th or 15th. I have to call to remind him of my salary. It's highly tiring. I think I made a mistake of resigning before collecting my salary Note this man is very rich...the company account balance is in hundreds of millions. So no one can tell me 70k salary is an issue for him. I am currently battling with cankersores and I need money to take care of myself.
I am thinking of going back to the office and take one of the laptops and sell it.
This is very unfair.
Please I need your advice
Next time collect your salary first before you japa. That man is going to frustrate you before he pays you.
Look at it objectively; he wasn't paying on time while you were there. So do you expect him to pay on time now that you have left??
You can always get a lawyer but you will end up spending most if not all of the N70k.
Best advice is to follow him jejely in order to collect your pay. Las las, you fashi the pay and forge ahead
Juliusmomoh: Am just afraid... What if i tell him and got heart-break and die... He's 76 plus
My brother if he is 76years then I suggest you don't tell him.
I don't know the circumstances behind whatever is going on but - your father's age aside - that type of news dey break up families.
If what you want is for the truth to be told and damn the consequences no matter what they may be, then go ahead and tell him.
But if you truly have love for your step-brother as well as your father then let it remain a secret.
Your step-brother may not be of the same blood as you but if you say you (genuinely) love him then that should be enough to make you remain silent on the matter.
From your tone, it sounds like you like your step-brother but you can't say the same for his mother.
I know it sounds difficult but you have to consider the aftermath of letting the cat out of the bag.
Iamvetlander: I don't have money to hire a lawyer.Yeah I will contact the police tomorrow. Thank you. And that's why I am using nairaland as a platform Sir
Police cannot do shishi.
You need a lawyer, even if it is one that will work pro bono. Go to the National Human Rights Commission in Calabar @ Address: No.39 Okoro Agbor, Ibom Layout Calabar.
michiyke2003: Who should we blame now, Buhari or the school authority?. The economy is very hard but killing yourself isn't the way.
What many people are going through these days reminds me of Fela's song "Suffering and Smiling".
Many people are depressed but live in denial. Some are already at breaking point. Any small thing can push them over the edge.
In Nigeria of today, please always try to be your brother's keeper with whatever little assistance you can render... unknowingly, you might be saving someone's life.
Blue3k: Its hilarious they pretty much admit Nigerians are slaves to used as they see fit. Even if Justice Taiwo gave political judgment the Federal government didn't bother appealing it for what ever reason. NYSC mandates should just be scrapped be in through the courts or by law change. Lol we'll really see how valuable the program is without mandates.
Justice Taiwo was "correct" in his assertion that Kemi Adeosun didn't need an NYSC certificate to become a minister.
The "magomago" in his judgement was that he was silent on the allegations of forgery against Kemi Adeosun (ie "How did she get a certificate of exemption when she wasn't qualified to receive one??" ) ... Oh well, never mind that. This is Nigeria.
The minimum educational qualification (according to Section 147(5) and 192(4) of the 1999 Constitution) required to become a Commissioner/Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is school leaving certificate (WAEC certificate).
Anyone who is going for ministerial screening with FIVE PhDs is going for an OVERKILL.
As we all know, an NYSC discharge certificate cannot be issued to a secondary school leaver.
So, in summary, a young graduate who has high hopes of going to Abuja to work as a ministerial aide/personal assistant must present his relevant certificates (which would include relevant degrees as well as his NYSC discharge certificate or certificate of exemption).
If he/she is lucky and gets the job, he/she will end up working for a boss who didn't need all that paperwork to become a minister.
That, my good friend @Blue3k, is the classical definition of irony.
May God help us in this country. Wetin Musa don see for gate don dey too much...
