Scouted from Nigeria to attend Brown Uni? Highly unlikely.
Brown is an Ivy League school and very rarely award sports scholarships - in fact, I have never heard of a sports scholarship from Brown, let alone for women's soccer.
So, its likely she grew up here and went to school (likely naturalized) so she will be eligible for an invite into the US national team.
lovewins:
Don't know her story but it appears she was scouted from Nigeria and it's unlikely she's a citizen.

Until the US calls her to their U19 camp, then it will be all over.

Deltamani:
She’s very much U20 but not certain if she’s still eligible for U17 as her age isn’t listed anywhere yet.. She recently left CanterBury School to College so she should be eligible for any of the age grade team..

Didn't see much of Edna Imade's impact in the game today.
Hopefully, will get to see more of her and assess if she is ready for the SF.
For now, make she dey develop for her club.

Awful mistakes by Nnadozie today.
Sluggish reaction time on at least 2 of the goals.

Those highlighted have absolutely zero business being on the team, as Oyono and Comfort are fundamentally very POOR players and definitely not up to scratch at this level.
Otherwise, a decent squad.

Regarding Randy, that’s the very least we could have expected from her, considering that the girls on the team pretty much read her the riot act about what will happen. It was the team leaders that pushed and are still pushing for Randy.

I cannot think of one singular initiative she tables that our women’s football has benefited from. Pinnick was the one who really was the strongest advocate, pushing for the betterment of the team thru friendlies and getting Randy on board at all costs.

Since he left, it’s been business as usual, especially with these riff rafts in control now.
lovewins:
I disagree with you take on Falode

Of course there's big room for improvement but she's been a big part to the stability the local women's game has seen the last few years. Remember she wasn't a board member until she was recently elected and since then she's been a big advocate for the falcons. From reports, she was literally the one that stopped Randy from being sacked and moved heaven and earth to ensure that. Understanding how football politics work in our parlance I won't play down her role so far.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 8:22pm On Oct 04, 2023
And what will be the purpose IF there is no competition to play in?
We all witnessed how useless the men’s B team has become, and there is no reason why the women’s team wouldn’t undergo the same fate.

Not impressed one bit with Falode. She is truly bereft of ideas to move our women’s football forward and needs to make way for someone more intelligent and with fresher ideas. She is stale and is no longer useful to to Nigerian football
Deltamani:
Prior to the Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand on a live TV show, a Falcons veteran said "Not inviting the home-based players will kill the league and the dreams of the players".

Morlat responded by saying "Demehin, Imuran, Abiodun, and Gift, were home-based players some months back. Are you saying they should be replaced by another set of homegrown players because they now play abroad?"

I joined Madam Aisha Falode in clamoring for Super Falcons 'B'.

Fact is that Onumonu is currently up against formidable choices at FC Gotham - Esther Gonzales and Lynn WIlliams are both starting strikers for Spain and the US respectively. There is also Midge Purce. She is not as good as either of them, so she is on the bench.

As rightly stated, her best bet is to mover to another team. And the sooner, the better before she is declared as surplus to the team and cut.
Deltamani:
When I look at their Club forward list you would see that it’s very tough to get game time especially at Gotham where they have Lyn William,USA international who’s a sure bet to start for them then the remaining spot.. At least the competition is tough…

Going to the World Cup Kanu isn’t inform till now. Hope they both find their rhythm back. At least we have a lot of options upfront for the SuperFalcons

I did - and thanks for sharing the video.
It actually reinforced my initial assessment of her, when I first saw her play years ago.
Still slow in her thought process and decision making, especially off and on the ball, as her movements are almost non existent and she seemed to be MIA on quite a few occasions. Hardly ever came back to defend (see how the likes of Oshoala and Onumonu constantly do that).

She cannot play on the high impact, non stop running team that Randy has built, as she looks like she doesn't have that kind of energy. I still would pass on her - and I suspect that might be the reason why she hasn't been on Randy's radar. She comes across as a low energy player.

On another note, the person that impressed me in the video was actually Faith Ikidi - still quick and sharp and full of energy. On and off the ball movements were on point. Would definitely have preferred her to Mummy, who is way past her sell by date.

Deltamani:
Still in the Scandinavian league doesn’t necessarily mean she isn’t good enough to move elsewhere, Anam IMO right now is good enough to start or come from the bench for the SuperFalcons as she can Play any of the positions upfront…
I believe you’re judging from her past performance which I know too well that she has improved greatly…

With Desire Oparanozie retired and Franny Ordega past her Prime IMO have all it takes to get a Spot in the attacking set up.. please do create time and watch their League Matches before making ur Conclusions.

Don't know what Anam Imo has to offer.
She was touted as the next best thing under Dennerby. She and Rash went to Scandinavia and played in the WC. We all have seen who clearly has been on the upward trajectory since then. Rash has moved on to bigger and exciting things, while she is still in Scandinavia.

She is slow and just isn't an exciting player - that's why she has been under the radar. To me, she is in the same class as Ihezuo. Nothing inspiring. There are other exciting players to focus on, please.
BascoVanVeli:
Monday has played like 1 game this season so calling her a fullback is wild. We also have Esther Okoronkwo, Anam Imo, Ihezuo, Juliet Sunday and even Mercy Omokwo. I see no problem with the girl u guys are talking about getting a shot but that doesn't mean we are suddenly out of options.

Edna Imeda short video.
Pace, power and packs a shot. And she's only 22!

Which strikers you don too get?
Oparanozie has retired.
Oshoala is getting old and is injury prone
Monday is now a left back
Onumonu blows hot and cold

With this girl, who is built like a tank (she reminds me of Paruello - same speed, build, guile and left foot) as well as Babajide, you have two good options to fill the gap.
Exciting!

As a professional writer, I am deeply ashamed by the number of schoolboy level grammatical errors contained in that simple one-paragraph letter.

Is this how our NFF secretaries have been writing to our players' clubs, to FIFA and to other FAs? Is there anything these people can ever do right?

Those Oyinbo people go don laugh us tire. Tufiakwa. This is what happens when tribal sentiments and godfatherism is used as a criteria for selecting staff rather than meritocracy.

Shame on them.

Old news.
This came out last week and has since been superseded by Gusau who asked the NFF Technical Committee to work on renewing Waldrum’s contract.
BascoVanVeli:
Hmmm
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS:
Stopped reading after this.

The fact that you would lend credence to someone who made disparaging comments about members of the team (coaches and players), denied the comments and then went on to record an interview to pretty much validate what she said, goes to show where you get your facts from.

Like it or not, as I previously said, Onome Ebi has outlived her usefulness to the team. She needs to leave the stage when the applause is loudest, else, those will quickly turn to boos and negate the great work she has done for the team in the past. Its her choice on which form of exit she want's her legacy to be pinned on.

This latest team list was certainly NOT picked by Randy, as evidenced by some of the squad members who Randy would have never give consideration to. The Monle Oyono goalkeeper, for one, is someone Randy will never have considered. Ditto that for the Folorunsho girl, both of whom had poor performances previously at the national stage. This team is sprinkled with some good players to help mask the incompetent players slotted in. Nice try, NFF!
BascoVanVeli:
They claim Randy exposed the NFF but still took their order to select Onome grin Even Okobi said Randy was the only decision maker for the list but they don't want to believe it. When Randy does what they like he is a great coach but when they don't like it, the excuses come out.

This is too funny - una go wait taya!
Someone just played all minutes for Nigeria in the most difficult world cup and performed exceptionably well. More than held her own.
This was her very first senior national competition and she was rock solid. Against 3 teams ranked as top ten (10) women teams in world football.

Yet, someone here is trying to tell us that this neophyte playing in D2 of the French league is better than her? I mean, seriously?
Why do Nigerians like to continuously delude ourselves?

There is a reason why the girl is playing in the French D2, She is not good enough! Pure and simple! let us know when she is able to hold her own in a competitive league.
Until then, abeg, make man see road, pls!

Deltamani:
We’re waiting especially me…. By the way she’s just 21yrs, same age as Demehin and have been part of the U17/U20 set up before

She’s currently with another 🇫🇷D2 Clubside but hasn’t been unveiled yet but they’re Currently in Spain 🇪🇸 for Preseason..!

Not at all concerned about the experience part. The fact that she came straight from college and into consideration as a starter for PSG is massive.
She will gain experience playing and training daily with some of the football greats as you listed.

Just watching this game, it’s amazing how much she has grown. Impressive.
Deltamani:
Arguably the quickest Fullback we have right now, but she still lack experience and will definitely get better at PSG playing with the likes of Seasoned Lieke Martens, Katoto, Baltimore, Jakie Groenen, Almieda, Sakina Karchaoui and against Lyon, Paris Fc, Montpellier Fc and also in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Both have had several opportunities to make the cut and have not been able to. There are many up and coming players in the US, UK and possibly Nigeria, who would add more value.
Time to move on.
Deltamani:
Okay, I specifically picked the both of them because of their Versatility as they can play any position in the Defense just like Veteran Faith Ikidi Michael..

She used to be a sub at Houston Dash but now is a starter at right back.

The WWC helped her become one of the top 10 rightbacks in the world, thanks to Randy's vision of recognizing her value and playing her in that position.

Massive kudos to her and the likes of Ashleigh and Toni for embracing and excelling at new roles the coach asked them to play... unlike our infamous 'Ms. Thang', who still believes she is better than someone else (not naming names...), but is incapable of being versatile.
Deltamani:
If Alozie can play Right back for Nigeria at the Highest level (World Cup) then she can as well Play the same position for her Clubside.. Versatility.!
