anikemoses: Hey, I understand your point, likewise a few others here i suppose, but there are just some risks that are not worth it, for me as a person, i prefer the blunt truth than for anyone to "romance" truth to me. You should know that some of us that has been here for a while are actually irked when we see our fellow country men going through hardships that could have been avoided if only they heed to advice. No one is against anyone coming down here as majority of people in Nigeria always think, but it is out of love that people do give first hand infos and advises of what is obtained here when one doesn't have funding or tuition fees for at least a year. I wouldn't go into personal details of how i was able to scale through until my final semester here without funding. It's really a tough experience to wish on anyone,That's the major reason none of you should view a blunt advise as been wicked or whichever name y'all terms it. In my short stay here i have been privilege to meet a couple of students from Nigeria that are going through hardship as a result of the "blind zeal" of getting a visa and coming down to US without proper planning.
I can go ahead and list some few scenarios that played out here, just last week an Indian student was trailed by the authorities to an outside campus job she was doing, they stormed her work place on plane clothes an after a couple of interrogation, she also implicated 2 other Indian students that are working there with her as well, they were all moved to their school ISO and instructed to terminate their service record and take whichever important belonging they have and there goes the free ticket to Bombay. I can go on and on to site some other experiences here with International students just to buttress my point. In order words. It is not worth the stress if you don't have fundings or tuition. My heart still bleeds for a classmate of mine, whom had no tuition and works all his days just to afford tuition and this last semester, he got the shock of his life, 3Cs, which is an automatic withdrawal from graduate school,he just kept weeping and they wouldn't even allow him transfer his credit to another school to start afresh. So y'all should know that this is America where there isn't short cuts to things, you can't serve 2 masters at a time.
My pathing shot will be for anyone coming here to plan very well before coming , else you will be frustrated and homeless moving from pillar to post with no help in sight, if your dream is to marry a per hour paid "akata" just for the sake of papers and you had no other choice, then just know you chose to settle for less, you are worth more than that and be ready for more frustration when you guys starts living together, a night with her will be like a night in hell.. I usually do not like to comment here for reasons best known to me but if y'all see anyone here still taking time out to give an honest advise, please appreciate he/she without resorting to name calling.Remember that no matter how smart you think you can beat this system, with the slightest of hard luck if you are caught, that will be the end of you and your generation ever making it here except the Law changes. A word they say is enough for the wise....Note that I'm in no way taking sides or discouraging anyone to come here, one of the few things I've learnt with people here over the years is that for every honest advise one dishes out, there is always one cousin or childhood friend giving them a counter fictitious advise to discard, but when you get here you will get to understand the true meaning of all man for himself, God for all..Good luck to y'all in your pursuit of your dreams.. Peace out. Lol Na only you dey get all this kind of scary story Just kidding thou.. Thanks for the info it's helpful |

TWoods: That's fraud period. A job "under the table" means you're not paying taxes on what you earn, which is technically illegal. I find it amusing that you're being indignant about committing what essentially amounts to a crime. Secondly, did you tell the VO during your visa interview that you would need to work a job under the table to support your education? Isn't that lying to obtain an immigration benefit - another violation that would normally get your visa voided? You obviously submitted a financial statement claiming you had enough money to support yourself as a student - so basically that was a lie. As a student, you are not allowed to work at all in your first year...
So basically you're a lying, hypocritical, criminal... and you wonder why Nigerians have an extremely difficult time obtaining visas. i wonder what has 'he working under table job' got to do with your business.. excuse my grammar lol hoe that one take be your business? |

GboyegaD: Don't you think it is embarrassing discussing someone you do not know this much? Sometimes when people do not declare all that was said and use bla bla bla, it is because of situations like this where we all analyze all and what not. For all you know, he might have just written the exam for the sake of embassy to prove his genuity to the VO. no vex me just dey joke up and down |

lionlee216: Travel Transcript. -------------------
check in started arround 6pm and after that I proceeded to the immigration and he asked me where is my final destination is and i told and he asked me to give him christmas gift which i gave him 1k willingly and he stamped me(the guy that we were going together got stopped by another immigration officer asking him his admission letter, undergraduate transcript and where his father is working and he told him he has checked in his documents alongside his bag that he only needs his i20 and the man later allowed him to go).
We passed through screening and I proceeded to the boarding gate abi wetin dem dey call it. they did final check and we entered plane. it left arround 11pm(Turkish Airline) and we landed Antuark Airport 8.06am(turkish time) and we proceeded to our connecting flight. i was unable to eat the food, so i took tea, water and juice throughout. when our plane took off, i saw lot of water and i was damn scared but thank to God, we got to JFK 11.15am and proceeded to POE, i spent less than 2 minutes
CBP : Good Morning Me : Good Morning, I passed my customs declaration, i20 and passport CBP : Any foodstuffs? Me : No CBP : No dried fish? Smiling Me : Not at all **smiling too**

Lest I forget, on our way to JFK, I was a plane at the other side flying in opposite direction in the cloud and it was going at great speed with exhaust and i was so scared that the plane is about crashing as i was praying inside my heart . so hours later, i saw another plane with same condition and i now realised that it is normal maybe the same plane i dey is moving the same way.

imperiouxx: I remember you now Akin.
@eniolagharxe, lot of people that missed their flights or have a long stopover do sleep in airports with no problems with anyone. Since you will be connecting the next day, you will stand a great chance of missing your flight if you leave, just like akin experienced. Also if you're staying in NY and have to go back to Newark, NJ, then you're ready to pay a high price just to miss the flight. You have to pay lot of money to get yourself to the airport and the cab may come to you late or run into traffic on your way back to the airport....... I don't think leaving is a good idea. Thank God you remember me. Lol you helped me call the hotel management that time for booking thanks again bro. He should just try to stay warm because it might be cold. |

Let me say this to all newbies, don't be upset, but it's worth the taking...there is so much information hidden in past threads, much more than anyone would be giving now in a single direct reply...so much. If you'd take the pains and go through previous threads (you don't even have to start from Part 1...you can pick any in-between) I tell you, you would not need to come and ask the ubiquitous question of which-affordable-schools-do-not-require-GRE-and-TOEFL-but-just-upload-of transcript-can-I-apply-to-for-XYZ-program? This post funny die. some will even ask for the school wey no require visa and school wey go pay visa application fee and sevis fee plus plane ticket. |

djmakson: Exactly what I had wanted to say. He could have written the exam for the sake of it which presents him to the V.O as a genuine student regardless of the admission. To each it's own. You can see the follow up question where he was asked about the challenges he had writing the exam. Things like this make your life story interesting, when things you were pessimistic about turn out in your favour. if he had issue with his quantitative because he had little time to do calculations which really way him down, what about his Verbal? definitely, he must have had issues with reading as well which perhaps way him a little bit up because 132 is greater than 131. Hence, Proved !!! . Abeg what's the difference between them |

texrem: When someone got denied isn't anybody's business. You need to have this mentality and highly oriented that " Nobody owes you Nothing". I've devoted my time for alot of people who eventually got their visa for spring even during my exams. Put your trust in God as I always tell those I vet their transcript and do mock interview for. Mudi did not get back to me when I did mock for him and I told him he wasn't prepared at all. He never called back for me to tutor him well. So, on this note you don't expect me to run after you. You re the one in need, you keep on pressing. I'm the busy type and I still find time to respond to people's inquiry swiftly. So, cecemat go and take chilling pills. All I expected from you is to keep on practicing and praying. Send private emails if you need help. I've reponded some days back to your inquiry, vet your interview transcript and you did not even bother to call for mock interview for me to ascertain your confidence level. It's about proving you re a genuine student to the VO that will guarantee your visa and God.
If you're denied..refire and go get your visa. It's your visa. I mean na your visa. Get it and fly.
I was denied 3times. Here I am..make we leave stories. Na God all the way. But heaven help those who help themselves. Wishing you guys coming for spring safe trip and those still going to the embassy will get the visa in jesus name.
I pledge allegiance to this family... I remain your humble texrem.
Happy new year in advance.
Nb: I never retire to dey vet and to dey do mock interview.
PEACE!!! Give us examples of people you helped for spring semester ? |

LagosismyHome: wetin concern immigration people with your sleeping in the airport ...... they are doing their work and you are roaming around or falling asleep on a chair. They dont bother you at all i slept in that same new jersey (Newark airport) after missing my connecting flight. The fact that i can't afford to waist another 100$ for the hotel i lodged on my first day in NJ made me do so. so if he like he should listen to me. He will even see some americans there sleeping due to the fact that they need to catch an early flight and their home is so far away from the airport. |

Told him
And he said sorry he can't approve my f1 visa Your response to why the school is a generic one. Also My advise is that you should always have at least 2 to 3 reasons why you picked a school and try to come up with 2 to 3 good reasons why you want to study a course. these are the key questions in Visa interview. By the way, is Wartburg a german school ? LOL just kidding though. try to refire and before you go, meet with people who can vet your transcript and get some advise from them. Just my 1 cent |
