America does not help those who do not help themselves. Nigerian leaders have consistently proved to the entire world that they are not interested in the security of the people. Why the blame game ? |
Nigeria pastors have had it too good in this country. It is high time the people rose against their criminal activities since the government is not interested in checking the excesses. |
The conditions listed by the op may not apply in nigeria where the lazy, the dishonest and the corrupt is rewarded more and placed above the honest hardworker. Look around and see those ruling the country now. Most of them never exhibit any of those attributes. Very few of the rich actually worked hard for their money. Majority got rich by crook means and through their relationship with the greedy and wicked ruling class. People who posses those 7 attributes hardly make it in our country. |
This looks like a show of shame. Politicians should stop playing jesters and clowns in the eyes of the public. They have more serious job to do. |
Is that a picture of a general in the nigerian army Looks smart though. |
Adults do not need three meals a day unless they engage in a jobs that require a lot of energy. If adults must eat three times, it should be 2 light meals and 1 heavy meal preferable for lunch. Alcohol should be minimised both in quantity and frequency. Men should also purge/detoxify at least once a month to rejuvenate the body. Finally , exercise moderately but consistently, including regular safe sex. |
Speaking in tongue is a gift of the spirit , among others. It is not automatic after being born again. The holy spirit gives different gifts to people at his will. However, many Christians today do not wait for the gift from heaven but have adopted different types of tongues like pra -kata -proo -kata -uh -hu -hu-----!!! in their desperation to impress and deceive. |
The truth about this matter is that most men overseas have experienced many disappointments in the hands of the ladies they dated or married abroad. Back home Nigerian actresses have also been rejected or disappointed by men. So in order to patch up quickly, such men and ladies see each other as compatible- a kind of second or third choice relationship! What a world we live in !!! |
Death penalty is not meant for minors in most countries of the world. This is another area where nigeria is failing as a society, sharia law notwithstanding. |
Nobody seems to be very sure of why boko haram would attack kano central mosque or any target whatsoever. Many theories are being discussed all around. But one important advice i have for nigerians is to avoid crowded areas as much as possible at this time. Examples of places to avoid are mosques, churches, political gatherings, large parties, all worship centers, malls, sporting events, markets, motor parks, tourist centers, etc. If anyone MUST be in any of these places, please make it as brisk as possible. |
A woman traveling with his son in the same taxi with me. Before our departure from ojota park the small boy was complaining about something with his mother quietly but persistently in a dialect that none of us understood. When we got to ibadan, the boy changed his language to pidgin english complaining that he was very hungry. Then the woman asked openly how close we were to ado-ekiti and one passenger answered that we still had 3 to 4 hours more to travel. On hearing this, the boy cried haaa , haaaaa, haaaaaa and intensified the noise. The mother of the boy was forced to confess that her plan was for her and the son to eat their breakfast when they arrive at the party in ado-ekiti, having thought it was going to be a short journey. |
What is the most corrupt institution in Nigeria amongst the following: 1. Presidency. 2. Legislature 3. Judiciary 4. Police 5. Armed forces 6 The clergy ( Islamic and xtianity) 7. Academia 8. Civil Service ( federal and state) 9. Custom, immigration 10. Regular Nigerians. 11. None of the above 11. All of the above. |
I advise Fayose to please tread softly. Nemesis is around the corner. Let him watch his back |
Although terrorism is a world wide phenomenon, the approach of the nigerian government towards combatting the menace still leaves much to be desired. The will and spirit to fight and win the war is lacking. The government has been consistently too lackadaisical . |
All this rhetorics sound like 'medicine after death' . Sometimes its better for public officials to admit their failure rather than try defend it. The signs of a failing economy have always been there but consistently ignored by nigeria policy makers for selfish reasons. |
There are many cases like this in africa where DNA testing has not been popular. Even recently when this technology started to be embraced, the cost of dna testing in nigeria has made it unattractive to many. Many african men would rather not do paternity testing than be told that their eastwhile kids are not their biological children !! |
I just heard a strange news on AIT that the nigeria police has been asked to increase its internally generated revenue to enable the outfit fund its operations. Do you know what to expect from our men in black in their quest to comply with this directive from the federal government ? |
Although the details of the strategies have not been made public by the minister, I strongly feel such should include cutting of salaries and emoluments of all political office holders- president and his vice, national and state assembly members, ministers and all the principal officers in our political structures. It will be unfair for the federal government to make regular nigerians bear the full brunt of the recklessness of the ruling class. The nigerian populace has sacrificed too much while the ruling class has taken too much from the country . |
It is only in nigeria you see a fraud/corruption suspect nominated for opec president. |
If this news is true, i may be inclined to ask opec to reveal the criteria for electing their president. From all available records, the minister, among others, is still being suspected of official misconduct in her home country. |
I saw the inscription "Police is your friend" on the walls of the Nigerian police one time i visited an officer. During interviews, the police has persistently told us that they are the best friends of nigerians. I believe a friend is someone who you can call in times of need for help and he would unconditionally give it to you. But going by the past and current activities of our men in black, am inclined to ask ; is the police in Nigeria truly our friend ? |
Where did the op copy this long essay from? |
The blame should also go to all nigerians who have refused to demand good governance from the politicians. A governor once said openly that ' politicians are stealing because nigerians have not stoned them'. Stoning in this regard does not imply throwing stone but challenging them to their face and fighting them. The definition of democracy does not include ' good government of the people' or ' by the good people'. It simply says government of the people by the people for the people. Good governance is therefore not guaranteed by democracy. Good governance and dividend of democracy is demanded either softly or otherwise by the people. This is where we nigerians have contributed to encourage our failed politicians to mis-govern us. |
Traditional leaders should exercise caution when making statements bordering on the choice of the people. Their position in the society is of high esteem and they should hold it as such by remaining neutral in the political arena. |
No nigerian prophet or pastor has what it takes to know God's mind as to what will happen tomorrow or next year in Nigeria. I will advise them to start preaching openly against corruption in high places, mis-governance, oppression, religious fanatism , as was done by the likes of prophet Elijah. I doubt if any credibility is left in the records of most pastors/prophets in this country. Therefore, dear prophet, leave the suffering people of nigeria alone and don't give them false hopes or tie them down with sweet words. |
Today, a dollar exchanged for N185 on the street; gradually approaching N200. What a country !! |
I agree with keyamo's thought on this. I think the end has justified the means. Imagine what we will be talking about now if the lawmakers were passive and have allowed the speaker to be impeached. I give this one to them. |
Nigerians should expect anything, and everything in the new year. The pictures are gloomy and i do not belong to the class of people who believe in prayers for solving problems like this. In short , and honestly, expect every thing in coming months. Do not be caught unprepared. |
Revenue from oil is declining. Budget figures are being reviewed. Subsidy on oil being proposed for part removal. Naira has been devalued. Inflation rate has jerked up. Interest rates are going up. Stock values are going down. Price of petrol, diesel, kerosene, etc will rise. Transport fares will rise uncontrollably , especially during the festive period. Prices of non-petroleum commodities, especially food will rise. Rents may go up, especially in urban areas. Salaries of workers will be late or will be owed for months. Contractors and suppliers will not be paid in time. Liquidity in the economy will be low and businesses and production will slow down. Insurgency and terrorism is blossoming in parts of the country............................etc. How and why have nigerians allowed ourselves to be pushed into this cul-de-sac ? Where are we heading to from here. I weep openly for my country. Where is the dream of our forefathers and the hope of the children and youth of nigeria. Ooh, I weep for Nigeria. |
Keshi should stop talking for now. He would be attracting more condemnation to himself by attempting to defend or justify his failures. Nigerians are currently mourning the demise of the lost Eagles. Let him not rub salt on our wound. NFF may reconsider him when there is need to coach an over-sixty football team, if there would ever be any such thing. Good riddance to bad rubbish. |
Jokers in the park. |
Let us wait for our authorities to officially react to this report . |
