My grand daughter is currently at Accra girls and boy, she stands tall and proud with her siblings here at one British private school collecting lots of $$$ per annum
No one is running Nigeria bad here. The country is BAD. No one was comparing Nigeria with Ghana, at least not me.
Ghana is not perfect but you see the citizens, Government, everyone trying to move their country forward. Drop trash on the floor and get abused even by a kid to pick it up, jump queues and get thrown out, get caught collecting bribe/abusing your position/breaking work ethics and get sacked, probed and imprisoned. Can same be said of Naija? (Since you have somehow roped me in into this Ghana V Naija thingy) my tenant in Lekki by_passed the meter I installed in the house and I got to know. I have called and emailed eko disco for over 2 weeks endlessly to report the matter but guess what they did? NOTHING. Try and touch your ECG connection in Ghana. My sister, no one is comparing Ghana to Nigeria here because there is nothing to compare but Nigeria should not rush to Ghana thinking that all is well here. ECG connection, your country people touch it to. So no one is a saint, but unfortunately, Nigerians(Especially the youth) love to watch their linen outside so much for the world to see. I am not saying Nigeria is not going through rough road right now but things would surely get better one day. Very funny @ the bolded. Anyway, let your grandchildren enjoy |

Good road,Power, security, good governance aside, do you talk about it's brimming tourist attractions? Cape coast have more ngos with foreign volunteers yearly than the whole of Nigeria :- FACT.
We have not read or heard of those obroni volunteers getting kidnapped or missing. Try that in Nigeria. I run with a group of Chevron expats here in Lagos and on every run, we have dedicated number of mopol armed to the teeth as escort still man heart dey shake. Whole of Nigeria? mbok. I hear you ohhh. Unfortunately, i dont have any point to buttress this your FACT but i am 100% certain that is not true. No one is doubting the tourist there but please spare me. There is nothing fancy in cape coast apart from the tourist attraction. Dry as hell, with bad roads, primitive people everywhere. For security, i dont live there so i can ascertain the security in that area. |

ifyalways: He's very right.
Education up to senior high school is very free in Ghana. The whole of Ghana not just Accra. It used to be just up to Junior high school but Nana Akufo Ado made a campaign promise of extending it to senior high school and that he did!!!!
The only hitch is that slots for Accra schools goes to the most intelligent students, the least academically inclined are posted to the villages and their parents would rather want their kids to school in Accra.
Comparing Ghanaian and Nigerian government schools is like comparing light and darkness. No basis. Ghana takes education very serious. They are not there yet but they are building structures and advancing, one step at a time. Okay madam. I hear you. If education is so free why do the average Ghanaian want to send their children to private school. The primary education is a disaster as stated by some Ghanaian i have worked with and i am sure they are not lying. And this is one of the reason why most of them are working hard to send their children to school. Also for your information, the free education in ghana is for newly entry student. The old students are still paying and thats why some Ghanaian are not having it funny And do you also know that in some state in Nigeria that education is free? Up to secondary school too. Yes! So we should stop painting our own country bad because whatever we say here will surely be used against us in the future |

Do you know that this thread could be used as an interesting topic of an academic essay?
Would you use words like stupid or idiot in an academic essay?
Speaking of being an idiot or a fool, this is something I have learned long ago:
Someone may be an idiot or stupid for not seeing the world under your perception. Conversely, you may be the one who is idiot or stupid for not seeing the world under their perception.
Interresting topic by the way. Please keep the rating to G as in General Audience. And don't escalate the rating to R as in Restricted. The rating is based on the words that are been used.

emeka1101: All these trash came out from you?
So why are you still in Ghana in the first place?
First of all Ghana is far better than nigeria . That’s a fact and you can’t dispute that .
Secondly Ghana is expensive to nigerians because the naira has no value in Ghana. The naira becomes useless as soon as it enters the shores of Ghana so obviously it’s gonna be expensive for you. People from better countries with stronger currencies won’t say what you are saying .
You only found good roads in Accra? What a dickhead. Hahahaha. All the good roads in Ghana are not even in Accra. So you think the roads in nigeria are better than those in Ghana? How many better roads are in nigeria? Even in Abuja and Lagos ,how many good roads are there? There are more good and better roads in Ghana than in nigeria and that’s a fact. Comparing roads in nigeria to that of Ghana is even laughable.
There’s constant electricity in Ghana and that’s the traits of all serious and advanced countries.
You can’t be comparing your country to others when you even lack common electricity. You said the only thing Ghanaians can boast of is light. At least that’s something most African countries lack so it’s worth boasting of.
But what can nigeria boast of apart from lack of electricity, abject poverty, insecurity and corruption?
Ghana police are far better than nigeria police.
Education in Ghana is not expensive. From kindergarten to Senior high school is free in Ghana , you only pay fees when you get admission to further your education.
Ghana education is of quality that’s why Ghanaian schools and students are always first in WASSCE.
Ghana has the best education system in west Africa and among the best in Africa.
You invited your friend to join you in the village where you reside in Ghana and you are making noise over it meanwhile the worst places in west African are all located in nigeria .
Why do you think there are countless nigerians running to Ghana in daily basis and not the other way round ?
Comparing nigeria to Ghana is a great and big insult to Ghana and Ghanaians ,trust me. Please tell me the name of the school so that I can tell my Ghanaian driver to register his kids free. Liars everywhere. |

@OP, if you are so angry about you being a Nigeria please direct your anger to politicians because they are the one that causes Nigeria present situation. Stop calling Nigeria a shithole or zoo country.
And as part good roads, Accra road and Lagos should be compare not even have good roads up to Abuja. Mind you Accra is the country capital of ghana while Abuja is of Nigeria. And as at today Accra can never be compare to Abuja in terms of good roads. Let me tell buttress my point on how expensive life is in Ghana. I paid my driver 700ghc monthly which is like 62k that some graduate in Nigeria collect and survive very well while my driver finish his money before the end of the month by collecting it little by little.
Even Ghanaians are looking for way out of their country. It's not easy for most of them. And you may see may new cars on their road, yes, that's loan. Most of them will pay loan till they die not a curse but that's how expensive life is in Ghana.
I fuel my car 200ghc every week that is if I don't want to go anywhere else than office oo and this 200ghc is not full tank. If I want to fill my thank I spend $100. Yes, 100dollar, you heard me right.
So the best way to enjoy Ghana is if you are here on transfer or on contract or if you have a legitimate business.
Also, don't plan on living in Accra because the rent is expensive. Even average Ghanaians live far from west and east legion, spintex, dome, Christian village(most Nigeria working class and student stay here).
Enough now. Bye |

Comparing Nigeria to Ghana is like comparing a crayfish to a shark. We have our problems but still we better pass Don't mind the OP, he's not telling people the truth. It's just like comparing Accra to Abuja. Only Accra is fine. If you go to cape coast it's just like you are in ilesa osun state. Nothing special and not hating. Been living here for the past 3 years. @lessonslearned, pele. Like hunniesuzzie mentioned, i dont trust nanny too personally especially the ones i can not monitored myself.
So your best bet is creche. If i can do it you can. I dont live around and sometimes i dont even see any member of family including my husband for up to 3month sometimes. I do all my house work myself until recently i hired someone to wash for me every weekend. Apart from that, i do everything myself..... Solution is find a good creche, drop your baby off in the morning and pick him up in the evening when returning from work.
Wish you well |

Now we're just scared that they have taken over dose of the multivitamins. We're thinking of taking them to see a dr this evening.......who else is having a fill of this holiday season with their toddlers or i'm i the only one? They're too hyper-active that i'm just tired
Teachers are really trying.... Please take it easy on them. Multivitamin shouldnt do any harms. Thank God is not a dangerous drugs. Better still, your hospital option is good to have rest of mind They are just kids and beating sometimes dont actually change kids but talk to them with straight face does most of the time. Alot of us went through beating in school and all when we were younger and it wasnt really a nice experience. God bless you mama |

The doctor said she will be fine but I think its taken too Long IMO... secondly what kind of milk do I mix with her golden morn? Is it normal peak milk or the peak 123? Alot of mama have responded to your queries but i will like to chip this in too. Firstly, take her to doctor for test. Let them test the stool to be sure of what the problem is. Secondly, Golden morn is for children above 3 years. Thirdly, from mothers experience here, majority complained that peak 123 makes some children stool so i would advise you to go for Dano Full cream milk. All the best dear |

Please sabi mamas help me. Firstly, if you have this light balm(cant remember name now) or shear butter, you can use it to rub his body(Please do it lightly after warm bath). You may also give paracetamol to avoid pain. 2. Let the baby food be water to avoid constipation as you stated and follow the instruction on the tin. All the best |

I breastfeed & also complement with formula. I'm quite worried because she still has same physique as we brought her home 2wks ago. Mothers, please what should I do? Worry less my dear.
