PoliticsAhmed Galadima emerges Adamawa APC Governorship Candidiate by Akpakomiza2(op): 3:18pm On May 29
Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Galadima has won the Adamawa State governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Galadima was declared winner in the early evening of Friday by the committee from the APC national secretariat which supervised the election and declared the results.

Chairman of the committee, Professor Innocent Bariko, said Galadima polled 414,444 votes to give his opponents wide margins.

The committee chairman announced Hon Abdulrazak Namdas as coming second with 86,004 votes, while third-placed Abdulrahman Haske got 65,934 votes.

In his acceptance speech, Ahmed Galadima thanked President Bola Tinubu, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and NSA Nuhu Ribadu for their leadership which he said has given the APC the size and strength to make exploits.

He appealed to all APC members for their support to ensure victory for the party at the 2027 general election..

In all fairness, there is no case here. The plaintiffs have no locus. Only APC can say whether he is a member or not, besides even PDP won't deny that he has resigned

Obi's election is same day.......!!!!
Akobundu or nwokocha will clearly prevail

It's not about turn only but about forces in the state. He may have won in the sdp but winning the guber race is a tall order. The Akwanga zone has maintained a certain pattern of voting and is likely to remain so. the Lafia zone isn't easy to win over. The keffi zone isn't a walk in the park. The incumbent escaped in 2023 but 2027 will pitch the forces against each other
The Akwanga zone has Gaza, Ombugadu and Angbazo of ADC. They will surely divide votes. Wadada will clear keffi his zone. Lafia zone will divide between Adamu, Wadada and those other candidates

Pls, go find out about Atikus current status in the north.
2023 clearly showed his current status. The north will always rally around a radical muslim, pure Fulani, meek, humble, pro northern, fanatic candidate. Ahmadu bello, Aminu Kano, late shehu Yaradua, buhari etc. the closest we have to that are people like El rufai, kwankwaso, Gumi, Pantami, Yerima. Atiku will never excite those core northern Muslims. Why can't you grasp this simple fact?

Not necessarily so. What about the undecided? Obi has never been in reckoning, as far as I'm concerned, since he refused to deputize Atiku. However, many passive supporters from the South South would even be more energised out of solidarity and sympathy, to vote Jonathan rather than Tinubu. Obis urban vote bank might remain intact. Worst case, Jonathan eats from both Obi and Tinubu. No wahala.

Up north, Some of those who'd vote Jonathan are mainly those who are just ok seeing the south ride out the last 4 years of southern presidency. Majority of those who would vote Atiku are those who believe 8 years of northern presidency would be sacrosanct under his govt. In NC, the votes will be simply shred to pieces between obi, Gej and Tinubu. Atikus loyal Muslim base remains intact, both in the NC and the core north.
Atiku has never had a loyal Muslim base, only buhari does and this has been splintered. Some will go Tinubu, some Gej, some kwankwaso, some undecided. Sharing votes is not the problem but the margin between Tinubu and atiku. Tinubu, Atiku and kwankwaso shared votes in the core north yet they still decimated obi. This will be Atiku's gate.

Jonathan's coming in to contest is a direct threat to Tinubu. Tinubu is banking on consolidating southern votes, but that plan has fallen flat on its face. With southern candidates cramped in a mushroom, 2027 is Atikus to lose.
Tinubu was never going to get all southern votes. It is more of a threat to obi. Most of those who will vote Gej are those that will vote obi in SE SS. He will also get votes of many liberal Muslims in core North
PoliticsRe: Senator Ovie Omo-Agege Resigns From APC by Akpakomiza2: 11:47pm On May 27

These guys keep exaggerating Tinubus appeal. They make the mistake of equating Tinubu with Buhari. Tinubus chances in the south look slimmer by the day. Chief Segun Osoba, arguably the closest confidante Tinubu has, lamented openly that the plurality of candidates in the south was a threat to Tinubus emergence. Coupled with that, they just don't how unpopular Tinubu is right now.
Don't you think you are hypocritical and funny?. If omo Agege defection is making Tinubu chances slimmer, what about the defection of Binani who is even more popular than Agege? What is more embarrassing than okowa leaving Atiku
PoliticsRe: Sandy Onor Announced As The Consensus Presidential Candidate Of The PDP by Akpakomiza2: 8:24pm On May 27

What I heard was suspension was for Sallah. To resume in the pm. Those who'd work against APC don't need to leave. They know openly moving to a new party makes them marked men.

Omo agege is no small meat. He worked for obi and obi won. But he made a tactical error. Should have defected to adc before now to contest for senate. He would have trounced dafinone. Great ogboru is the adc gov candidate. The man is loaded. Been contesting nonstop since 99 or 03. I like his tenacity.
You will agree with me that from 2019 great ogboru electoral fortunes have dwindled and is still dwindling. He contested in 2023 and I can't remember what he scored. Agege is popular but will you rather have him or have gov sheriff and okowa? The answer is clear
PoliticsRe: Sandy Onor Announced As The Consensus Presidential Candidate Of The PDP by Akpakomiza2: 5:39pm On May 27
Svoboda:
Let's cross our fingers.
ADC has even suspended collation indefinitely.
Talking of defections, omo Agege just left APC. He worked for obi and was part of the buhari group that worked against Tinubu so no worries. Again, ADC is still a small party. It is even better if he doesn't join adc. You need new members and defectors more than APC. APC is over saturated. Any member leaving your small group will hurt far more than anyone leaving APC.
PoliticsRe: Sandy Onor Announced As The Consensus Presidential Candidate Of The PDP by Akpakomiza2: 4:54pm On May 27
Svoboda:
You're using those phantom APC numbers to assess another party's strength? Most aggrieved northern APC are with the adc. The north doesn't make noise, they are built to swallow perceived injustice in silence.
Didn't you see the videos of the phantom ADC numbers too? Despite irregularities, there's always room for measurements and analysis. Despite the massive rigging of 2003-2011, we could still deduce that buhari was only limited to core north while PDP dominated the rest. Those aggrieved northern APC that are with ADC are too few to make a debt... Even in the north east,Atiku has grown weaker... He has lost Binani and Abbo to NDC of Obi while working with an unstable fellow like Babachir. The Guber ticket has been given to a nobody ignoring ex governor Bindowo. Atiku son has gotten ADC senate ticket for Adamawa south dominated by indigenous Christians. Many of these Christians are loyal to Fintiri, expect a massive revolt.
All the who is who in Taraba are with APC, nothing for Atiku. The pdp candidate in Taraba is Emmanuel Bwacha from the Wike faction, far more popular than the ADC candidate. In Gombe, an unknown bello tinka is also ADC candidate. Pantami from the Wike faction emerged PDP candidate. Goje worked for Atiku in 2023 so him joining ADC makes no difference. In Borno and Yobe, same thing with ADC fielding candidates that are liability to Atiku with ADC in tatters. We already discussed Bauchi. Ningi being on the ballot will serve Atiku better, same as Tambuwal but no Atiku foolishly allowed them not to contest. Atiku still doesn't understand national electoral politics. You need your strong and popular allies to be on the ballot to curry votes for you esp in areas where you are weak. Every politician has their core supporters. You need as much loyallists and alliances as possible. Tinubu makes up his lack of mass appeal with other qualities like alliances, dood strategies, strong structure.Atiku has so many limitations. I won't be surprised if Atiku struggles to win Gombe, Bauchi and Adamawa which should be a bit comfortable.

Like I'd always say, let's cross our fingers.
Buhari with his popularity couldn't succeed with two regions. Gej with his incumbency and popularity in the SS SE failed to win using two regions. A less popular atiku cannot. Be reminded that our of those 13 core northern states, Borno, Yobe, Taraba, Kano, zamfara and sokoto( according to you aren't in play). If he miraculously wins here, it will be slugfest. I added sokoto because you yourself last week said no party dominates sokoto, that their politicians play both sides for strategic reasons. If Gej contests, kaduna will join.
The ADC registered 3 million people only and mostly from the north. This is poor and points to the fact that the north aren't enthusiastic about atiku. Many of those rooting for him are doing it reluctantly and won't hesitate to jump to Gej side... I won't be surprised if Atiku performs poorly in NE and better in NW seeing that ADC has better candidates in NW

I deliberately mentioned duke because no vote is too small for Tinubu in the south at this time and not because I expect him to create something substantial. Makinde snatching something substantial from Oyo is something. Oyo is a high poulation state. Where will he gain what he'd lose in Oyo? You heard what Tinubu confidante openly lamented about plurality of southern candidates. That's Atikus trump card. Atiku knows he won't do well in the south. He knows he has the numbers to overturn Tinubus numbers in the south. At least Delta north will go to Obi plus the southeast. Delta north has the highest number of voters in Delta. The NC isn't anybody's turf. Even the Igbos and other southern diaspora groups form a voting bloc that influences outcomes in both plateau and nasarawa. I told you, you will witness a lot of skirt and blouse voting in the north. The Muslim north has a penchant of going against the establishment when seeking reelection. A lot of APC members in the muslim north will vote against Tinubu. That has always been their system. They did it against Obj in 2003. Against Jonathan in 2011. The only time they stayed with the centre was during Buhari. The only difference now is that Obi and Makinde are a bulwark against Tinubu having his expected unassailable outcome to cancel his expected losses in the north.
You are not getting it. Votes Tinubu loses in the south won't go to Atiku, it will be wasted which is a plus for him. Kwankwaso will do more damage in the north than makinde or duke . What Tinubu will get in Oyo against Atiku will still be massive, Atiku doesn't have a state where he can get such. Votes Tinubu will lose has been gained in southern kaduna, plateau, Benue, Taraba
The north central is not anybody's turf but Atiku will surely lose it to Tinubu and obi totally. The largest votes from delta are usually from delta south not north. This is from Tompolo and co. Any place obi wins, Tinubu will come second, Atiku has no chance anywhere down south while Tinubu is in play in most states up north. This will be the difference
Atiku doesn't have the popularity or structure to sweep the core north. Thank goodness you mentioned 2003 and 2011 polls, that is what will happen next year and the north where following Buhari so that is a peculiar case. Many of the places obi and Atiku won where because APC underrated them or took it for granted like Yobe, Edo, Katsina, nasarawa, Lagos. APC will be over prepared everywhere.

The Apc and ADC registration and numbers should tell you what to expect... The ADC primaries has ended in a fiasco. Atiku will beg for a running mate like Awo did 1979

APC in Bauchi is on a life line. Torn to shreds. Senators have decamped. Tugar is angry. Atiku will dust Tinubu in the NE and NW. Bala has a lot of work in his hands, fighting to win Bauchi south. What prize will ningi get in an already saturated APC. What Tinubu will lose in the south to Obi, Makinde and Duke, he can't gain in the north.
The last time Duke contested under sdp in 2019, he didn't win his unit. Mentioning him questions your political knowledge. Makinde won't sell beyond Oyo. Most of those voting obi and makinde would not have voted Tinubu. Atiku had 5 mil in the south 2019, 2023 this fell to 1.7.while obi polled 3.5 this clearly shows obi took almost all his votes.
Tuggar was never popular so he doesn't matter. Bala has left atiku, this is far more bigger than the loss of two senators one of whom defected from PDP not to add rtd Air marshall sadique. Ningi is the only major politician with Atiku. Most of the top shots in Bauchi are still in APC. If Atiku dusts Tinubu in NE/ Nw, it will be very narrow. Tinubu will dust him heavily in 4 regions

Not this time. He has bled his northern votes already. He needs southern votes like mad. Without bala, Atiku will prevail in Bauchi. Ningi is stuck like glue to Atiku.
Atiku will prevail narrowly in Bauchi which is a strategic loss. Tinubu will beat atiku massively in the entire south and draw him in several core northern states. No politician is stuck to another without a prize, Atiku doesn't inspire following. Ningi will eventually lose interest without motivation. The Apc in Bauchi reenergize while Atiku camp is splintered
PoliticsRtd General Angbazo Wins ADC Governorship Primary In Nasarawa by Akpakomiza2(op): 10:21am On May 27
Retired Major General Nuhu Angbazo has emerged as the African Democratic Congress [ADC] gubernatorial candidate for Nasarawa State.

He defeated Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo and former Environment Minister Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi in the party’s primary election.
The result was declared in Lafia by the Chairman of the ADC Primary Elections Committee for Nasarawa State, Solomon Dalung.

Angbazo polled 23,931 votes to secure the ticket. Abdullahi came second with 18,197 votes, while Onawo garnered 15,282 votes. Osana Odonye received 4,797 votes.

The primary election was contested by four aspirants seeking to represent the ADC in the 2027 governorship race in Nasarawa State.
Angbazo’s victory sets him up as the party’s flagbearer ahead of the general elections.
