Svoboda:
Tinubu is cramped like the other southern candidates in a mushroom. Obi coming out is enough headache for Tinubu already. Only Atiku rules the north now.
Obi virtually made Tinubu win in 2023 so he is a good headache. Atiku rules core north on paper. In Bauchi, he has lost Bala and Sadiq Mohammed. With Ningi losing the Guber ticket, he is about to lose more grounds

Na Jonathan we know, and not some tomato can. The 2027 election is Atikus to lose.
Jona isn't contesting. It is Tinubu's to lose

AMINDA:
Admit that you are not updated and move on. What does "originally" mean in this context? Akpabio, Umahi, etc were also "originally" from the PDP. Are we no longer celebrating governors and senators that defected to the APC a few months ago? Bottomline is that APC has no current senator in Bauchi state as at today. We will all learn politics together.
Shehu buba defected to PRP instead of your ADC so you gained nothing. Bala Mohammed who worked for Atiku 2023 has abandoned him. Senator Ningi who joined ADC to get the Guber ticket has been disappointed. A weak candidate has emerged. Rtd Air marshall sadique Abubakar has retired from politics. Atiku fortunes has greatly diminished in Bauchi, Tinubu might just win here

That's also fine.
Let's just wait till the appellate rule. Meanwhile all parties are struggling to do their primaries before 30th

You have refused to take my posts on kwara Guber to the FP
PoliticsRe: 'Membership timeline': INEC appeals judgement, seeks stay of execution by Akpakomiza2: 11:29pm On May 25
fergie001:
The Court didn't say INEC didn't have the right for schedule or timetable, it's only saying, it cannot be statutory, meaning someone can decide to fix his Primary in August and invite you.

I know INEC did this because of pre-election litigations but again, it has constructed what it should not.
You must confine yourself to the dates chosen by inec or you simply submit your register or primaries to the court.
PoliticsRe: 'Membership timeline': INEC appeals judgement, seeks stay of execution by Akpakomiza2: 11:22pm On May 25
fergie001:
You didn't say this when the courts upheld Wike based on the voters register against the card reader in 2015. INEC is in charge but they must bow to the EA.

You and I know that INEC guidelines must conform with the EA.
The inec guidelines is within the days and timelines provided by the EA not beyond. It is akin to scoring a goal within the football pitch and outside
PoliticsRe: Ex-igp Abubakar Adamu Quits APC by Akpakomiza2: 11:19pm On May 25
AMINDA:
Lol. You are so confident in your ignorance.

Bauchi North: Senator Samaila Kaila Dahuwa
Bauchi South: Senator Shehu Buba Umar

Both have resigned their membership of the APC today. Don't worry. We will all learn the politics together.
The senator representing Bauchi north originally was never from APC sir but PDP. The one swallowing in ignorance isn't me clearly
PoliticsRe: 'Membership timeline': INEC appeals judgement, seeks stay of execution by Akpakomiza2: 11:18pm On May 25
fergie001:
The final date is not for INEC.
It says names should be submitted at least 120 days to the election.

All it enforced was that INEC should be given the membership register and notified 21 days before the meeting, convention or Congress where the primary is to hold. Whilst INEC reserves the rights for schedule, it cannot abridge the time specified by the Electoral Act.

So, since the EA said not later than 120 days, so INEC will now force everyone to submit over 200 days which is contrary to the EA?
Yes it can after all it is in charge. Let the court then conduct the polls
PoliticsRe: Ex-igp Abubakar Adamu Quits APC by Akpakomiza2: 9:24pm On May 25
AMINDA:
Which would you prefer? Aggrieved members staying put in a party due to a fraudulent electoral act clause or going elsewhere to exercise their franchise? The implosion of APC is already manifesting and you should be worried. The remaining two APC senators in Bauchi just decamped from the APC. With so many aggrieved party members, where will Tinubu's votes come from? From the 10 million phantom voters in the primaries?
Which implosion? Who knows this IGP? APC has only one senator in Bauchi not too. You don't know politics sir, stay out of it
PoliticsRe: Ex-igp Abubakar Adamu Quits APC by Akpakomiza2: 8:23pm On May 25
Bobloco:
No sir, it’s not too late.

Aren’t you aware of the judgment delivered by Justice Muhammed Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which nullified the INEC guidelines directing political parties to submit their membership registers and databases by May 10, 2026?

Or are you unaware that the court held that INEC cannot lawfully shorten the timeline already provided under Section 29(1) of the Electoral Act 2026 for the submission of party membership records and candidates’ particulars?

Yes, INEC has appealed the judgment, which they are not supposed to, but they have been asked to appeal it by the Tinubu regime just to buy time, not withstanding the appeal will most likely be dismissed.

INEC cannot issue guidelines that conflict with the very Electoral Act from which it derives its powers.
The guidelines is in tandem with the electoral act sire

PoliticsRe: 'Membership timeline': INEC appeals judgement, seeks stay of execution by Akpakomiza2: 8:14pm On May 25
fergie001:
Infact in this case, the Court is ruling in favour of the Parliament.
The Electoral Act is a product of the Parliament whilst INEC guidelines is for administrative convenience. So, you are supporting the judgement as well.

The Court has ruled many times that where there is a conflict between the Principal Act (Electoral Act) and a delegated legislation (INEC guidelines), the Principal Act prevails and the guidelines is null and void to the extent of its inconsistency.

This is what happened in Nyesom Wike vs Dakuku Peterside 2015.
Then the smart card reader was in INEC guidelines whilst writing of names was in Electoral Act 2010. The Court held that INEC guidelines must bow to the Electoral Act been a Principal Act of the Parliament, that was how people like Buhari, Umahi and Wike won at the Supreme Court.

Infact, the INEC guidelines must derive its origin from the Electoral Act and the CFRN.
There is no conflict sir. The court or parliaments cannot fix specific timelines or date for electoral activities, the final dates belong to inec. Why didn't the electoral act simply specify that days of primaries is from 30 March to 5 may and elections on 28 January? Why is it using the terms not earlier than and not later than? Can't you see it is deliberate?
PoliticsRe: 'Membership timeline': INEC appeals judgement, seeks stay of execution by Akpakomiza2: 8:11pm On May 25
peleson1:
On what premise is inec appealing the judgement?
Secondly ,what is inec interest in this election other than announcing the results and conducting the elections
And finally what business does inec have to change the electoral laws and being partisan to give advantage to the party in power ?

This is a serious breach and it's a treasonable offence, the one chairman should be jailed and this man parading himself as san should be derope and jailed to
Inec has to decide the timelines to it's favour. A lot is involved in conducting elections sir

After all we discussed? This is very petty of you. Let's bet
PoliticsRe: 'Membership timeline': INEC appeals judgement, seeks stay of execution by Akpakomiza2: 8:06pm On May 25
Ofunaofu:
This is obviously the Tinubu and the APC appealing the judgment through the Amupitan-led INEC simply to buy time, so that those dissatisfied with the APC’s baba sope political patronage machine and fraudulent primaries will not decamp for now.

Ordinarily, INEC is not even supposed to appeal this judgment. The judge simply held that INEC cannot lawfully shorten the timeline already provided under Section 29(1) of the Electoral Act 2026 for the submission of party membership records and candidates’ particulars.

As expected, the appeal will most likely be dismissed for lacking merit.

INEC cannot issue guidelines that conflict with the very Electoral Act from which it derives its powers.
There was no conflict. The judgment also affected primary
PoliticsRe: How Atiku Abubakar Can Defeat Bola Tinubu In 2027 Presidential Election by Akpakomiza2: 7:33pm On May 25
slivertongue:
The North central is a complex and slippery zone. There is no bloc vote. Entities within the geopolitical zone choose their path. The north central is home to Nigerians from the other five zones. Thirty percent of the people living in NC are not natives of the area so their solidarity is with their kins.
I agree but it will be like 2023 with Atiku coming third. Atiku can only win north east
PoliticsRe: How Atiku Abubakar Can Defeat Bola Tinubu In 2027 Presidential Election by Akpakomiza2: 7:32pm On May 25
Ofunaofu:
Divided with Tinubu? Oga, wake up, this is not 2023 anymore. Buhari is no more, El-Rufai has practically become Tinubu’s political prisoner, and Tinubu is now standing on his own record. There's no more, he built Lagos from scratch and tamed the Atlantic ocean propaganda to sell.

As president, has performed abysmally, woefully and spectacularly poor. No mass appeal, currently the most unpopular among the major presidential contenders.

The only things keeping him afloat are incumbency power, access to the national treasury, looted funds, and endless borrowed funds.
We already discussed this before. Most of the top politicians up north are in APC

Spread is still important over highest votes without spread. At least 50% of Northern votes would go for Atiku. The south may end up the battle ground.
Atiku has lost north central to Tinubu. He can only win 50% of core north. Tinubu will beat him overall

Osoba has just confirmed that Tinubu cannot win in 2027 through genuine ballot.

If the Southern votes are split in 2 or 3 ways, and the North has vowed never to vote for Tinubu again, how then can he win.

We cannot see any real pathway for an APC victory in the presidential elections. Unless of course it's rigged.

The 2027 election may be a "HUNG" election.
Tinubu will win SW, SS, NC and divide nw

Atiku was the person that messed up the coalition....he is too prideful and tactless.

But still, all hope is not lost....Tinubu have no pathway to winning in 2027.

Northern Nigeria will vote massively for Atiku....then Tinubu's power of incumbency will help him secure 25% in some Northern states....Peter Ob will get some through Kwankwaso and persecuted Northern Christians.

In the South, the votes will be heavily divided with Peter Obi taking the greater share of Southeast, Southsouth and Tinubu winning more in Southwest.....Atiku will manage to secure 25% in some Southern states and at the end, Atiku or Obi will score highest votes.......Tinubu is a goner for real....he messed up big time......his tribalism and division of Nigeria along ethnic lines was so bad and visible even to the blind, Tinubu must not be allowed to return if not Nigeria will be in very big trouble!!
Atiku will not score 25% in any southern state. Tinubu will win the north
