FatherOF2:softly softly. it goes without saying that we all invest in the NSE knowing its a risk. softly softly. blanket statements are dangerous and frankly easy to make. we all agree it is a BIG risk being taken by Mr 40m but as its been said time and time again previously, na im money and we all have different risk appetites based on our personalities. Mr 40m obviosly has big liver and its not fair to knock the fellas who put in N290,000 and made 3000%, that na the risk dem fit stomach. it doesn't mean they are any less of risk takers or investors. |
i've made my position clear on P.Os - since i've been vaccinated against them, i am now immune and will even take a booster dose in a few months lest i am bitten by the P.O bug down the line. what a big waste of time and more importantly, money!! investors aren't being protected enough in the nigerian market i dont think. |
@wanajo been loading uba from last week , hence my analysis that i posted a few days ago. nice one bros!oceanic is another candidate as well from the looks of it. |
@cheexy depends on what u set as an exit price. sounds like u've exceeded ur expectations. u already have at least a 2 bagger with this one if u sell on monday. ask urself, why do i want to sell? is it cuz i've hit/exceeded my target or to raise capital to move to juicier stock? why? the answer u come up with should help in making the final decision. hope this is helpful |
WASKY-WAJA:chei! chei! chei! see power play. but 40m creating scarcity will greatly depend on which stock u buy. it won't really dent companies with billions of shares on issue. wow see business plan! talk about leverage. |
@wanajo and it has been fairly valued for more than 6months. the market continues to delay in valuing it at its right price. I am afraid this plan is dangerous and as u've said, a risk not worth taking |
@ waja the guy could have just used the N8m 21% Iinterest to invest but well sha, na im money. as i said i wish him all the best. i'm afraid i can't make any recommendations as the market is too unpredictable and the sums involved frankly cut my liver, ie OPM. |
@ waja in response to ur post about his successes, i see u didnt post any of his failures . |
@wisky waja not to be a party pooper man but looking at ur friend's stategy, there are some things i'd like to point out: these companies may look good but one never knows how long the market will take to realise this, that's why the investment process is advised for long term periods. it may be true that the company has posted good results but it's not necessarily true that the market will rally cuz many times the good result has been factored into the price due to the market's anticipation of a good result. See, the market doesn't work after the fact, ie to paraphrase FOF2 et pumping, "na die to stand in front of moving train". i'm sure as an obvious silent reader, u must have read comments about "hiding in the bush" for a particular stock. all that means is u way-lay a stock and require patience to make a profit. Now ur waiting period is anyone's guess, it could be 1 month or 1 year, case in point - diamond bank, good fundamentals but dragging to rise to its potential so far. Moral of the story: In my humble opinion, this is a risk a bit too high for my taste but i guess ur friend is a calculating man and knows what he's doing. i wish him the best.nuff said |
in the spirit of being ur brother's keeper, to the fella whose friend is about to get a N40m loan to invest in the NSE:NOT FOR 6MONTHS. reason: timeframe too short. unless u are bigboylarry and have a crystal ball, u can only make calculated guesses which still can be wrong. recipe for heartattack really. any loan taken to invest is a risk let alone 40big ones. question: has he ever traded any stock before, from ur statement it doesnt sound like it meaning he will probably be relying on hear say, instinct, buying what's rising in price, what's popular, etc or worse still, on a broker without much research himself danger, danger, danger!!! |
@SAMSTONE thanks bro. i have no intention of going into the LSE or NYSE or any other stock exchange outsid eof nigeria, at least for now and the foreseeable future ![]() |
my sis wendy he is well and as i told roughcut earlier we await the physical manifestation of the spiritual truth in jesus name. i will surely give the testimony on nairaland, trust me. |
faketan:WAIT!. deap is coming to the primary market soon if u believe what they themselve have said but easimoni is the resource u need on deap sha. spring - no info to share, dont follow them. sorry |
afamako:got any contacts of brokers who can take on an individual investor who doesnt yet have the pockets of rockefeller? would appreciate it. |
@roughcut bros, i tire jare. this one is from 18th dec, interim dividend. its intercontinental registrars. anyone got their phone number? |
eniyanman:could u tell me the process of trading on the LSE bruvs, most brokers i've talked to here in london deal in heavy bucks which i'm sure u've got . so how do the up and coming get into the LSE as individual investors, the whole shibang if u please. |
i know about uba but i am talking about intercontinental from 18th dec and we never even hear from them and the broker dey tell me say "na naija we dey". its this kind of attitude that i don't appreciate about my fellow nigerians sometimes. can he call the broker to confirm the sending of the dividend? |
@ all is it possible to contact registrars if u are yet to get ur dividend cheques? i am referring to intercontinental and uba dividends. my broker is giving me a load of bull |
blest:ma im be say u go come find me, easimoni and pumping who announced it last week be dat, chei, wey my shakabula!! ![]() |
MyPeace:if i may mypeace, last i heard, some investors wanted to corner the japaul offer but the company resisted. hope they don't go the way of these other P.Os |
hbrednic:took the words out of my mouth @samstone yeah. i corrected the mistake earlier. i say again, it was an annual dividend of N1.20 that uba paid me!! ![]() |
hbrednic:advocating anarchy now are we bruvs ![]() only kidding. just wish SEC could tighten our controls and remember to place the investors first so we stop having the likes of the omoyeni saga and all this crap with P.Os. glad we haven't yet experienced stuff like what happened with bearns bank and now Soc. generale in Naija yet but if it continues like this we won't be far behind, God forbid!! as i said many a long day ago, oyinbo too dey steal and even their advanced systems still fail, how much more when even joe bloggs on the street in lagos can outsmart our stock market controls because he has a heavy wallet |
make una come oh, who be the people who dey do 849 deals on Japaul ehn? show urselves .kai, i no go laugh tire for this NSE ,anyway more grease to una elbow. abi no be money we dey talk, enjoy fellas |

@eniyanman hispy is right, i just checked the report. ur calculations were spot on then. bottom line its a good company to buy if u can stomach the cavalier reputation of the MD |
@teehay as i said in a post yesterdAY, AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE WE WERE DONE WITH P/Os WITH 2007. WE HAVE TAKEN ANTI P/O VACCINATIONS AND ARE DUE FOR BOOSTER DOSES SOON. good riddance to bad rubbish!! these guys are jokers bruvs |
@ty blessed is he that believes without seeing ![]() |
@roughcut thanks man, i believe it too. i am carrying him with one hand and typing this. he is fine. we await the physical manifestation of the spiritual reality in jesus name. seems u've been real busy counnting ur dosh lately, u rarely post up now. u're becoming one of the dreaded deep pocket silent readers ![]() |
@eninyanman dividend yield is calculated as i'm sure u know by dividing annualized dividend per share by price per share and multiplying by 100 to get a percentage. uba just paid a dividend of N1.20 per share. annualizing that gives N4.80 for the year. N4.80/50 (yesterday's price) multiplied by 100 gives 9.6% hope this helps ![]() |
@hispy ![]() uba is 49.62 afribank is 26.3 if u believe trw-stockbrokers that is |
