MrBachelor: I've always wondered and pondered why APC did not float the Osinbajo candidacy. Why the northern governors preferred a Tinubu to an Osinbajo.
But whenever I look at Tinubu I see what they saw, and then I realize why. They want to pull a Yar'dua on Nigeria.
The North want to retain power again, whether through Atiku or Shettima. But that won't happen. Stale! It's called democracy not selection. Osinbajo came third in the primary. |

It's good to spend money for great cause as we see in Lagos.
Obi is a modern Buhari; he will hoard money till Ipob/cabal loot everything under him. We can't move forward with his stinginess.
More and greater investments are needed in Production, manufacturing, infrastructure for people to be employed and move out poverty and create greater businesses.
In COVID situation, developed countries gave more money to people to maintain production to strengthen the economy through demand and supply.
Tinubu and then his successors keep spending to expand development and IGR from 600m to 20b in 2007 and now more than 50b.
Obi and his supporters are happy that he saved 'empty' 8b in 8 years. Amount he supposed to have used to build infrastructure in Anambra or improve the condition of the people. When he invested, it was in failed beer business.
A very stingy and selfish man who saved state money in his bank to expand his bank and importation businesses. I wonder how youths would fare under such fellow. |

Emperordynasty: The most revered and respected is The Oba Benin,
Historically the most powerful is still the Oba of Benin both military and spiritually ... Although presently having no governmental power This picture should help you calm down. In Nigeria, Ọọni is the head of traditional rulers from the South while Sultan is the head in the North; they are both Co-chair person of the traditional council of Nigeria. All the rulers mentioned taced their origins to Oduduwa. Obi of Onitsha traced his to Benin; Oranmiyan of Oduduwa house from Ifẹ gave birth to Oba of Binin. Yorubas, the largest group in the South and beyond see Ọọni as their paramount spiritual Oba and leader compared with others mentioned kings and the numbers of their subjects. Virtually every state in Yorubaland is bigger in population than Bini population in Edo. However, the 3 rulers of Ife, Benin and Oyo are Oranmiyan's children and Ife is the source. Although Oba of Binin is now ruling Igodomigodo and there are lots of revisionism going on by typical igodomigodo person but a sensible person knows right.

Eriokanmi: I wasn't finding fault. I was only telling you development of lagos and lagos master plan can't be credited to Tinubu. It was baba's masterplan. I never said tinubu did nothing as well but the development under him was so slow, compared to what Jakande did when there was virtually nothing compared to what they receive as IGR now. Imagine saying the largest housing in Africa would be completed in 3 years and he achieved that. He also said literail would be done in 8years and had buhari not stopped him, he'd have achieved it. Let's forget what happened after Jakande left due to military interruption. 1999 is 22 years ago...yet, literail is moving at snail speed. We don't even know when the 4th mainland bridge would be started, with such huge allocation at their disposal. Tinubu may not be in government after his tenure but he's been actively involved. He decides who becomes governor, senator, fed reps or commissioner. His company is in charge of tax collection and all.
Lagos had always been progressive. Shebi you cited the population increase...was it tinubu who increased the population from the 80s to now? Those who built houses in 1980s and now, was it tinubu who participated in or contributed to the building? In my house , just like every home owner does, I Pay land use charge every year. Multiply it by over 8m houses in lagos yearly.More houses, more land use charge, more certificate of occupancy...CofO is now min of 1m naira. Approval of plan costs a lot too, depending on plot location and type of building. In the 80s, there was a replica of BRT called LSTC. Brt wasn't even what we needed cos our roads needed to be wide enough to accommodate as much vehicles as possible. In most of the Western cities where I had visited, some had 8 lanes in their cities. Instead, our roads are shrinking. What we need is a functional rail system which Jakande started which would have been done in 8 years as projected.
Chevron didn't come to lekki because of Tinubu, Mobil where tinubu worked and Total too. They pay taxes to lagos too. You see? By the time power changes hands, you'd probably apologise to those whom you're tackling because of tinubu, when you see real development. So western region wasn't progressive or Oyo and Ondo? Is it Baba Jakande that's still ruling Lagos while Bola Ige, Ajasin stopped ruling ruling Oyo and Ondo? There's always context of time and good leadership to continue progressive ettos. After wonderful work by the above mentioned leaders, the military destroyed virtually everything. In 1999, there were new hope and among all the governors, few, including Tinubu you hate so much because he refuses to be a saint like you, renewed and expand what the like of Baba Jakande started and we are seeing the results today. It's called a democracy for a reason; everyone cannot see through your spec... You prefer Obi or Atiku for some reasons and I prefer Tinubu for some reasons. When campaign starts, you want to win people to your side because of these reasons and I want to do same. Many of us are silent dictators, very very automatic. Campaign for your candidate, mbanu! It's to start looking for unnecessary argument here and there; for what? For likes. |
Politics › Re: Femi Gbajabiamila: What Transpired During Obasanjo, Tinubu’s Meeting by Alba3: 9:18am On Aug 19, 2022 |
Eriokanmi: Like seriously? where were you when our uncle Jakamde was governor? If you're truly a lagosian and well grown that time,.you'd not be talking this way. Every time you guys come on the social media fora , defending tinubu, I always wonder if you were paid to do that. Lagos had always been a rich state. Who founded LASU? The Lagos Literail they've been using to campaign since 1999? What of the roads linking lagos state towns and suburb? General Hospitals nko? Lagos Government House, etc? In the 80s when pa jakande flagged off the lagos literail, he promised delivering it in 8 years . He built the largest housing estate in Africa in his time, markets etc were done under him. Had his tenure not been truncated by Buhari's coup, he'd have delivered the rail project in record time. The lekki you people were bragging of, that tinubu developed, was part of jakande's urbanisation plans. Have you ever heard of Jakande estate at Lekki? Find out how old the estate is. It was his plan to open up that area.
When tinubu came in 1999, the Lagos master plan was handed over to him by baba. He jettisoned most of them, only pocketed a few. Even the few, he wasn't able to do much. Every 4 years, he'd come, used it to campaign, do a little and rrop it until another election.
Lagos had always been a rich state. Pa jakande did all those amazing jobs without borrowing and in less than 4 years. Baba didn't have a single helicopter before he left. Till date, none of his children engages in poootics and it was on baba's instructions and warning. Tinubu's family hold sway in lagos, his.companies too.You and I know how many jets tinubu has today and some people still want us to vote him, no be curse naw.
2023 will really test his popularity. I won't say more than that. Nobody said Jakande didn't do well. My question to you is, when did Jakande left? What was the population of Lagos then? I talked about in the 90s; a lot already decayed by then. Why did you think lawma, Kai, rrs, etc were created? You were not in Lagos, my friend! I'm not holding you back from voting your candidate, please. Someone only asked to be given reason to one of the candidate and I responded. Why didn't you give him reasons why he should vote for your candidate instead of finding faults? |

tunjijones: I don't even know who to support in this election.
Tinubu is too old to rule this very complex country and his party even had the audacity to pick a Muslim as a running mate (I know that's the only way they can have a chance). But his past experience and exploits in governance is really speaking for him
For Peter obi, he didn't do much in Anambra (forget all what is supporters are saying online. How wld you return money back to the state account when there are several infrastructures to be built. I think he was clueless on what to use the funds for). But he younger and agile. He is not a saint but he is a lesser thief compared to atiku and tinubu.
For Atiku, I don't even know. He is as much a thief like tinubu but at least he picked a Christian running mate and he has vast experience in governance and has as much international connections as Tinubu.
Kindly advise on who i shd vote for with strong reason. (I have my PVC and I must vote).
FYI, I will not vote a candidate cos of religion or tribe. Vote for Tinubu, Obi can't win. If you know Lagos pre 1999, you would have known there was nothing in Lagos; forget what all these jjc are saying that it develops because it was former capital. Tinubu had foresight and laid very good foundation for the state and left Nigeria behind. How Lagos is coping with the massive population is something extraordinarily. In the 90s armed robbery, poor waste management, village looking neighborhoods, etc were so prevalent but thanks to Tinubu; he knows how to arrange proper men in appropriate positions to archive great objectives. He can replicate same at the federal level if given chance. Don't let anyone deceive you that one politician is a Saint. |

Aregbe already overborrowed that Osun sometimes received less than 1 billion Naira in allocation. Oyetola is the most prudent governor Osun could ever have.
I'm sure Adeleke will start borrowing again from individuals like his family and Banks to have meaningful performance. |

Parachoko: I'm not even understanding this
If some of the ebiras are kidnapping people, why did they kill when they attack the church at owo instead of just kidnapping them? Truly, you didn't understand the write up just like many commentators here. That's Nigeria journalism for you; they muddle up stuff. The governor talked about the church attack separately. He also added or warned that some Ebira youths are now involving in kidnapping. It's another security issue entirely. The governor never accused the Ebiras of being the killers but that some Ebira youths are now participating in kidnapping; this is an open secret in both Ondo and Ekiti states. PS: Governor was actually talking in parables as some Ebira youths were involved in Owo killings. They have been joining Ansaru and ISWAP in drove and Ondo and Ekiti are like second home to them. All released names by Gen. Irabor are Ebiras. |
