@ Adesuwa. In as much I don't really capture what you really meant from your sentence usage. Let me explain from what I understood based on your write up. You are a registered Nurse and Midwife as well, all Diploma status. For professional and Career growth and for your own benefit. I advice you take up Bachelor in Nursing and if you still wish to further more MSC will be your next point of call. I have heard of International Registered Nurses who do bridge course or Visa but don't really know how that one works. May be the house can enlighten you on that one. I hope this will be helpful to you.
Adesuwa1986:
Pls house I'm a registered nurse and midwife both diploma what we I study if I want to travel to Australia? Pls I'm new there.

Don't you think that the connection between Geology and Social work is not really there. There is inconsistency in your choice of course. Look for a Masters degree more related to Geology. Things have really changed with DIBP.
Abbey1987:
Thanks so much my first rejection was flinders admission.. I will try and apply to UQ... My first degree is geology and I applied for masters of social work.

Sorry dear. Try Flinders or UQ and you have to use their representative here in Nigeria. What's your first degree course and the Masters program you applied for?..
Abbey1987:
House pleasw help a brother in a state of needs.. I just got refused basically because my first degree is not related to intended Master course.. And I have been advised to reapply to a new school and chooses a closely related course.. Is there anyone here that knows of any uni that responded to application and gives admission on time..
Thanks in anticipation

Thanks for the good insight. Bracing up for the challenges ahead at the end God will see us through.

Focus on getting your PR and then get the Bleep outta there. I hear some health professionals there don't get penalty rates...don't know how true that is. I wouldn't know cos I am on a salary but an Indian told me a few years ago

The union is more active in WA. They fight the government and other health care organizations like crazy for better pay rate. That's why the pay there is good. No be small fight

TravelRe: Living In Australia/life As An Australian Immigrant by Albion05: 10:11am On Nov 03, 2017
Thanks for the response. Am actually going for MSC in Nursing. Though my mind skip when I read underpaid.
WellEndowed:
I talk more about WA cos I lived there for years and loved it.

QLD..... I haven't been here long to give an honest review but one thing I would say is "It Most definitely is not my cup of tea. I am counting down already". Employees are so underpaid. I negotiated for weeks to get a pay that was slightly above WAs. ...when I hear Africans here talk about how good the pay is, I am always shook....I asked a few of them if they've worked in other states, they reply with a No...and I all say to myself is "No wonder" grin

Plus I hate the heat angry

There is career growth here sha....but again not my cup of tea

Good luck smiley

Please,Mr WellEndowed can you throw more light on Queensland because that's were am heading to. I got struck by what you have just said concerning Queensland. Other people who are in Queensland should help us by sharing their experiences. Please help us by sharing your experience in Queensland!.
WellEndowed:
No vex grin. I have always talked about my love for WA though. I studied, lived and worked there. In fact I completed an online program through ECU in November of last year. A few programs here and there at Curtin Uni and even Charles Darwin(NT) cheesy

Let me tell you a little story......I suck at taking photos embarassed I bought a new camera 2 years ago hoping it would tempt me to take photos for where? After looking around for a while I found a pretty good sale at Harvey Norman for a Sony a6000 (Body only). Bought all the lenses you could think of; 18-55mm, 50-210mm, 50mm, 16mm. Ask me how many times I have used the camera. In fact I haven't sighted it in over 18 months embarassed

Ehen back to topic. I didn't really like Kalgoorlie-red sand and all-it reminded me of my Father's village in Eastern Nigeria. I also lived in Albany-Loved it there kiss I visited Bunbury once, had a family member who lived there. Loved it. Plus I got goats from there free grin

I don't live in WA anymore though cry but take it from someone who has traveled around for work, WA remains the highest paying state for health professionals. Queensland is worse cry cry

My siblings and I all lived in WA but now they are all in Melbourne...except me cry
PoliticsRe: Anti-Grazing Law: We Have Started Leaving Benue - Myetti Allah by Albion05: 8:22pm On Nov 02, 2017
My dear listen to your self very well. Nobody is infringing on their rights. They have the Fundamental and human rights like any other person in the state and Nigeria at large. Did the right also include grazing and rearing Cow in an open place, on the roads, Place of learning, Church and mosques , on peoples farm lands. You will tell me where the law of the Country tolerate such or even accommodate it or enshrined in our 1999 Constitution of Federal republic of Nigeria as amended. The law is simple as a ABC, get a Ranch and graze your cow. Which country have you visited in your life and see Cow parading themselves like Sheep without Shepherd?. That happens only in Nigeria. Go to the Streets of Abuja our so called capital city and our pride, you will see Cow moving indiscriminately. Are you Comfortable with that?. If you ask the State government to buy land for them, equally the sate will also provide land for people to rare Fowls, Snails, Fishponds for people that are into fishery. I think every well meaning Nigerian should welcome and embrace this law because that is the International best standard and practice and it will solve the incessant clashes between the herdsmen and the farmers. We have listen on National television where they claimed that the herdsmen are not from Nigeria and if we are to go by this, all the herdsmen should be send back to their country and obtain proper means of identification before entering our Country because they are intruders.
GoroTango:
The herdsmen-farmer clashes constitute a very serious national security problem, one which falls within the purview of the FG to tackle. Also i never said the herdsmen should be given farmer's land for free, I said the govt should purchase it from the farmers and rent it out to the herdsmen in order to recoup its fee
PoliticsRe: Anti-Grazing Law: We Have Started Leaving Benue - Myetti Allah by Albion05: 6:28pm On Nov 02, 2017
Rearing cow is an individual business my dear. How do you expect government to provide land for such. Are they going to pay for the land?. They should put their heads together buy some hectares of land to use for their Ranches.
GoroTango:
The Fulani people just like every other Nigerian have a constitutionally enshrined right to freedom of movement, and I hope Myetti Allah challenge the constitutionality of that law up to the supreme court. Also in order to solve the problem of perennial herdsmen-farmer clashes, the government needs to buy land from the farmers and rent it out at subsidized rates to the herdsmen so that they can establish grazing reserves. Anything short of this is nothing but a cosmetic, window dressing solution to the problem

RomanceRe: Is Break Up Sex Okay? by Albion05: 1:20pm On Nov 01, 2017
As I go through the comments made on this particular topic, I can't but help myself in laughing. But on a serious note . No need for breakup sex. You both can sit down talk to your self politely and genuinely without involving breakup sex. Breakup sex can re- ignite the feeling or lust feeling both must have proclaimed to each other. Separate maturely, go your separate ways and be bold enoug to take a stand. May be the married woman and her lover Man who was seen unclad and dead in side the lover Man's Car, must have been having their breakup sex before they died. Who knows! . We should be very careful on the things we do. There is actually a report card of our actions.

CultureRe: Chidinma Or Chidimma? by Albion05: 7:37pm On Oct 29, 2017
You all should go and read your A,B, CH, D, E, F, G, GB, GW, GH.......... etc . After reading it then come back and make your stand known. In Igbo land " Nma" represent Beauty. It also represents "Cutlass" while MMA can be "Mother". "MMADU" also represent human being. The point here is the Sound effect and you get to appreciate the words better after seeing the full sentence which the words are been used for. No doubt, I have seen of recent some persons using " Chidimma" as regards to Chidinma as purportedly argued here. I have no problem with that. Your name is the identity you choose to be reckon or recognize with. Nke onye Chiri nya- zere. What will you say about Franklin and Franklyn? . What will you also say about " Akwa" it has so many meaning like, Egg, Cloth, Bed, Cry, what differentiate all this is what we called in Igbo... Uda-elu, Uda-ala, Uda-nsuda na- akala- uhie. Why is it that the capital of Anambra state which is "Awka" is written that way. Is because of the sound effect.

Ok. In my own case I used the one the school recommended or that is in my offer letter, which is Allianz Global Assistance ( AGA). You can check the following approved by the Australian government. Australian Health Management, BUPA Australia, Medibank Private, Nib OSHC and some other ones which I don't know.

TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 11:41pm On Oct 19, 2017
First of all. You need to state the duration of your program and that's exactly the duration of health insurance you are also going to purchase. In terms of affordability. You can check www.nib.com.au/overseas-students or you can google it your self and see the differences of other health insurance care or agencies.

Please house how do i get a cheap OSHC that is not above $700 that will cover all my program duration
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 11:23pm On Oct 19, 2017
My Candid advice. From your age, if you are up to 30 years of age you are entitled and eligible to get Exemption letter but if you are not. Please tell them that you continued to pursue your academic quest that you will return to your home country to do the Compulsory NYSC immediately you finish you program. I don't know your age but from this little scenario you already know if the reason is tangible enough to convince the VO or not bearing in mind your age difference. All the best.

DIBP don come with them wahala oh!!!

So we were contacted last week thursday for additional information,

- Updated Confirmation of enrolment Coe
- Bachelor certificate from University in Ukraine. I noted you provided diploma certificate.
- Proof of registration as Medical doctor with Nigerian medicals council
- Proof of financial support , 3 month Bank statement

Which we provided, although the certificate they already had is a Doctor of Medicine diploma, not the conventional diploma {terminology}. Now they contacted us today again asking for other supporting documents,

- Clear scanned copy of the original WAEC certificate
- Clear scanned copy of the original National Youth Service certificate
- Employment reference from the Military Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, including details of when you completed a housemanship at the Military Hospital.

Thing is we have not served yet nor have we registered online or anything. Options, should one go and get them a "nigerian" exemption letter or just inform them that we havent served due to the fact that we want to pursue further education before coming back to serve.

Advice needed!!! ( I nor know wetin concern DIBP with nysc cert unto going to school for dem country oh)
