The guy who was convicted did commit act that directly resulted in the murder of the black man.

None of the actions the parents did directly resulted in the murder of kids at the school.

Mind you the charge being brought against the parents is involuntary manslaughter which is very different from accessory to murder. But the burden of proof is still very high in both cases and unless there is something else the prosecution knows which they are not saying in the press, then the parents will walk.

You would have to commit an act that you know would result in a crime.
