abati !!!!! Haba

Yes you call Nigerians ignorant because the pardon was done by the executive council which is part of the constitution. Yes we know and Nigerians are not stu.pid

The bone of contention of why people are angry is the fact that

1. Only Alams was really pardon, the rest like Diya and co was all to play on Nigerians

2. It was the president that gave and influenced the ECOS to pardon a convicted corrupt personal

You see Abati, we know you are working for your money but money is not everything. There is MORE (a lot more) to life apart from chasing money of which when you die, your money would not follow you to the after life.
PoliticsConstitution Review: Our Position, By Yoruba Self-determination Groups by aljharem(op): 9:39pm On Mar 16, 2013
Submission by Yoruba self-determination groups to the Constitution Review Committee
We hereby present for posterity and for the attention of our long suffering people, and for the attention of local and international community, the position of the Yoruba Self-Determination Groups presented at the South West Zone Senate Public Hearing on the review of 1999 Constitution at Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos on November 15th and 16th, 2012.
After a critical appraisal of the Nigerian state, taking a deep reflective overview of the history of her economic, political and social growth and taking into consideration the different phases of Nigeria’s development since 1914 when the country was forcefully merged by foreign powers.
Noting that before the 1914 amalgamation, the Yoruba peoples and our Itsekiri brothers have lived together as one people with one language, one culture and one history. Aware of our rich past, loving environment, the streams, forests and woodlands, the animals; and an amazing political structure with its enviable system of governance and ordered society.
Aware that since 1914 Nigeria has been wobbling without peace but rather, a country ruled by fear, trepidations, anguish and uncertainties. That given the current situation of inequality, un-abating violence, carnage on our roads, disappearances of peoples, collapse of family values, instability, bombings, kidnappings, unbridled corruption and wanton destruction of our God-given natural environment, the felling of our trees, the suffocation of our plants and animals, of our beautiful birds, the occupation of our country homes by armed, hostile, malicious and murderous herdsmen, with the laws of the land folding our hands only to watch in tears and deep pains in our hearts.
That this past century, our people have suffered horrendous murders, killings and now recently the bombing of our worship places, the rage killings of our people through terrorist acts, in the quest for political and economic domination and manipulation of Nigeria by forces alien to us.
That this attempt at constitutional review offers a unique opportunity for we the Yoruba people to present our deep feelings to the Nigeria State, inspite of great doubts of the efficacy of the constitution review process, but with the hope, though faint, that our voices would be heard for once. That the classic Marxist argument that puts the economy at the centre of all human relations can no longer subsist, that there are timeless values and cosmology that every nationality cherish and wish to protect and build essence and existence around.
That the contradictions of Nigeria can be resolved through these suggestions which appear a peaceful model as against the current resort to armed insurgence and mass killings of innocent people, on a daily basis, including women, children, vulnerable and physically challenged people.
We the Yoruba Self-Determination groups therefore make the following recommendations to the Senate Review Committee for the attainment of our peoples’ well-being (Yoruba and our Itsekiri kins) and harmony in the South West in particular and Nigeria in general.

OUR POSITION
Ø That the present 36-state structure be abolished and the structures and institutions of government devolve into the six regional federation. Each region be empowered to create states or counties and it so pleases.

Ø That the South West Region be made up of the following ,Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun,Ondo, Ekiti, Kwara and the Yoruba speaking parts of Kogi, Edo and Itsekiri part of Delta state.

Ø That the Nigerian Police Force, (NPF) be abolished and in its place should reflect the federal character of the country with a three tier system of small Federal, stronger State and Community Police structure.

Ø That South West Region should have control over her Sea Ports, Air Ports, all natural resources on land, sea (offshore and onshore), including but not limited to oil and gas with 15% of net earnings to the federal government for it to be able to discharge its duties to the federation.

Ø That South West and other regions should have their own regional constitutions including the hosting of diplomatic missions as it was the case in the 1950s.

Ø That the South West should have control over Railways, Highways and all other mode of transportation.

Ø That the region should take charge of the exploration, generation and distribution of energy to meet its needs and requirements.

Ø That regional trade unions should take the place of the present centralized Trade Unions and Professional bodies and Associations.

Ø There should be a regional army with contributions from each of the regions to a federal army. The Federal Government should maintain a small army while the regions should have the number of army it so desire.

Ø That right to secede, as entrenched in the constitutions of some other UN members like the United States, (UN) should be entrenched in the Nigerian constitution.
We have made these submissions with the highest sense of responsibility for the peace and well-being of the our people that are currently in the South West of Nigeria to the Senate of the Federal Republic this day November 16, 2012.

Haba, my Ijaw brother, Itsekiri has a meaning in Yoruba. I am not sure of edo

Itsekiri "Itse ki irin" Which mean people that walk about/ or people that migrate about. This is Ijebu BTW and part and parcel of Ijebu history. I am not Ijebu but I know some of these stuffs.

Itsekiris themselves are Ijebus more like Ijebu igbo is to Ijebu Ode.

Presently we still have touches of Itskiris in Lagos and other parts of yorubaland inculding Ogun and Ondo. Infact if you understand Ijebu or Itsekiri, you can soeak vice versa
This is purely about over azz licking by Ali of his oga from above. Its about PDP also. The Yorubas have every right to choose wisely about there leaders. Obj is not a good leader as far as I know. The Yorubas have stood up even when he is there own to say Obj is bad contrary to the likes of ethnocentric tribes like Igbo n Ijaws.
The Yorubas are a respected people with great sense of understanding and fair judgement. The Igbos are the worst bigots and tribalistic people you can imagine. For all I care Ali spoke like Abati and he is also a nobodyM He doesn't speak for the north or any well meaning party.
Lastly why are the Igbos always hell bent on causing conflicts between people in this nation.why does the relations between other tribes worry you so much?why do you so hate people like this?
The Yorubas are not cowards the whoop the Igbo butts several times and the score card says so clearly. Not any significant rating is found under the belt of the Igbos! Not before or during colonization and not during the civil war.The Yorubas have delievered several victories and how many ahave the Igbo made in history.Beyond the things fall apart tales by moonlight shit.
I have great respect for the Yorubas and the leaders of thought they have. Its beyond match in this nation.

I Will Like To Change My Tribe From Igbo To Yoruba - Nollywood Larry Koldsweat

He has made so much impact in Nollywood to the extent that some of the stars the industry is proud of today have his touch in their lives.

The Igbo born actor who has turned a pastor has revealed in an interview that he’s if he had the opportunity of coming back to this world again, he would still be an actor and a pastor but he would love to be a Yoruba man by birth and inclination.

Hear him, “If I have to come back to this world, I will be an actor again, I will be pastor and I will be a Nigerian again but I’ll like to change my tribe, I will like to be a Yoruba man (laughs). Reasons are, Yoruba people are very receptive; they are the only people that can give you a land irrespective of your tribe.

They have a large heart. This is my 40th year in Yoruba land and God made me what I am today in Yoruba land. I am a Lagosian take it or leave it. This is where my children can call their home, this is where we met God; this is where I made my dream and it is where I met my wife.”

Kindly read what Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu wrote about Chief Obafemi Awolowo in his book "Because I Am Involved" page 159- 160.

In political terms, he would be considered an adversary of the igbos given the intense rivalry between him and Dr Nnamdi Azikwe. As a leader of the modern cast, he has left Nigeria standards which are indelible, standards beside which future aspirants to public leadership can be eternally measured. He was firm, articulate, painstaking, and uncompromising. He was, for a long time, the only Nigerian leader who enunciated principles and played down personalities. He was a brilliant political administrator and a most erudite teacher. He not only identified himself wholly with the aspirations of the Yoruba people of Nigeria but also he was able to convince the Yoruba people of Nigeria that he and only he epitomized the highest point of their political aspirations and consciousness. He was loved, he was feared but above all he belonged to the people he professed to lead. At his death I had the singular honour of proposing for him the epitaph that has endured – ‘he was the best President that Nigeria never had’.

Many have wondered what I meant by this, but I believe the statement was clear. Nigeria would have benefited from his presidency because of his inate presidential qualities. Nigeria must continually regret that he never, for many reasons, had the opportunity to serve at the presidential level. Awo was a leader of great stature. He was a leader who was eminently successful.
That he did not fulfill a presidential ambition cannot detract from his leadership, and us, poor us, who were not his people, must continue, to regret that our own leaders had not led us as he did his people or achieved for us as he did for his people.

He perceived his job as leading his people and God his soul. He did a lot for them. Whenever he saw an opportunity for his people, he went for it. He had a dream for the Yorubas and was steadfast in the pursuit of that dream. He knew where he was going and took his people with him without deceit. That is why he will remain immortal in the area of his influence.

dolphinife: You people are so naïve and lack paucity of informations concerning aviation sector. Am an aviation expert of this country. The North dominates every sector of aviation in Nigeria, followed by the south east and the yorubas. The Yorubas are just the minute educated ones who were sponsored by the Tafawa Balewa regime to study abroad. Immediately Jonathan became president, he removed Engr. Oduselu as AIB director and put an hausa man there. He also remove a niger delta man as FAAN MD and put george Uriesi. Systematically, Stella Oduah, being the GF to Jonathan recommended the total removal of some tribes so dat her tribe of niger delta Igbos ( the most tribalistic set of people in Nigeria) can have edge in terms of position.
The same Oduah forced the airlines to buy adulterated Jet A1 fuel which caused the Ana plane crash, but people will never talk. The same Patience Jonathan who in her power, never allow the dana plane to land just because she wanted to take off which was the immediate cause of the accident.
In essence, to be fair and honest, aviation wise in this country, there is no other persons or group of persons dat can stand the level of these people...Engrs. Obadofin, Demuren, oduselu, Capt. Dele Ore, Aekerele, and Edward Boyo.
Professionally, technically, and academically, there is no region in Nigeria dats more endowed dan the south west. The records are there
Demuren, Odusele and Boyo are itsekiris and not even yorubas. That is why I keep saying Yoruba/Edo and Itsekiris are indeed the brains of the south, quote me anytime

The Igbos are just Tribalistic set of uneducated people. Quote me any time

PoliticsStop Parading Yourself As Eze Igbo Kano, Ohaneze Warns Boniface Ibekwe by aljharem(op): 12:00am On Mar 15, 2013
The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Kano state chapter has warned one Mr. Boniface Ibekwe to stop parading himself as Eze Ndigbo in Kano, noting that there was never a time Ndigbo in the state made him their king.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo also accused the Kano-based business man of decorating the culture and norms of the Igbo race by auctioning traditional titles to non-Igbos and people with questionable characters.
According a statement from the Kano secretariat of Ohanaeze, signed by its President, Chief Tobias Michael Idika and titled “The Enemy Within, and made available to Pointblanknews.com, following recent developments in Kano as it concerns Igbo leadership and representation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Kano state chapter is compelled to make a number of clarifications “and this is in our bid to restore the Igbo norms, culture and covetous heritage—which are being decimated by queer characters who are hell-bent in using unmerited status to fill their pockets at the detriment of the integrity and morality of the Igbo race.
“For some time now, we have closely watched, with dismay, the antics of one Mr. Boniface Ibekwe who present himself as Ezedioramma IV of Kano, masquerading himself as Eze Ndigbo of Kano. In 2012, we noticed he celebrated the Iri Ji festival twice in his so called palace located on Freetown, Sabon Gari, Kano, in his desperate attempts to raise fund for himself. And in each of these occasions, we noticed that almost half of members of Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s cabinet were given one chieftaincy title or the other; and even ordinary traders who have no pedigree were conferred with titles. We have also noticed that in the same 2012, he also held the Ofala Festival which is exclusively made for Traditional Rulers.
“It is also on record that the same Mr. Ibekwe, parading himself as Igwe Ndi Igbo, collected compensation made for our children killed by terrorists in Kano and tampered with it. Again, in several occasions, he has often presented himself as representative of Ndi Igbo only to use the position as a window to enrich himself and curry unmerited favour.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo secretariat in Kano has received several complaints on how Mr. Ibekwe using his self-acclaimed position to oppress and persecute hapless Igbo sons—locking them up in police cells just for the fun of intimidation. Ibekwe is also fund of dragging respected Igbo sons and institution to Court for no just cause, only because they disagree with his taboos.
“We can recall that in recent years, over three batches of respected Traditional Rulers came from the East and reconciled the Igbos in Kano and directed Ibekwe to lie low and respect himself, but he wouldn’t listen.
His Royal Highness, Eze Cletus Illomuanya (Obi 1 of Obinugwu) was in Kano for several occasions in his capacity as Chairman, South-East Council of Traditional Rulers. He led high-profile Traditional Rulers from the East such as Igwe Gibson Nwosu, Eze Uzu 11 of Awka, Eze Hope Onuigbo, Osai 1 of Ibeku, who was then Chairman of Abia State Traditional Council, to mention but a few. These people resolved the matter but to the consternation of every discernable Igbo man, Ibekwe continued his irresponsible acts, selling out the dignity and integrity of the Igbo race.
“For the umpteenth time, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Kano state chapter, being the apex Igbo group in the state, wishes to inform all Igbo sons and daughters worldwide, and in fact, the general public, that there was never a time Mr. Boniface Ibekwe was nominated, appointed, elected, turbaned, crowned and or installed as Eze Di Ora Mma Ndigbo in Kano and or Igwe Ndi Igbo in Kano, by any group or persons representing the interest, culture, norms and the Igbo custom.
“Since Ohanaeze has watched him all this while to, at least, dwell in self-correction and save himself the shame, and he is not in a hurry to do that, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, therefore disown Mr. Ibekwe and his self-appointed title. Ohanaeze, therefore, responsibly declare as null and void, the Chieftaincy titles distributed by Mr. Boniface Ibekwe and urge all the recipients to withdraw such status because it is based on the bricks of fraud.
“We also call on members of the public to recognize Chief John Chiejina Nnaji (Agu Na Eche Ibe Na Neke) as the Traditional Ruler, Igwe Ndigbo in Kano. Ohana Eze Ndigbo can recall that Chief Nnaji was conferred Eze Di Ora Mma IV in Kano, succeeding the late Barr. O.T. Nnadi in an elaborate ceremony attended by all discernable Igbo sons, friends of Ndigbo and representatives of the host community.
“Finally, Ohanaeze Ndigbo warns Mr. Boniface Ibekwe to respect himself and let the Igbos in Kano be. Ohanaeze, however, assure the general public that Ndigbo in Kano remain united, peace loving and law abiding,” the statement noted.
