solomon111: That is a very daft statement.
You definitely cannot compare the two talkatives, with Akpabio and chime.
Bros abeg make we hear word jere. What has Chime done in Enugu ? If you even talk of Akpabio I would understand and even at that. He collects the highest revenue in Nigeria so anything short of what he delivering is utterly useless.

Chime has nothing to offer even Enugu. Fact !!! How many people travel back to Enugu to start up a life compare to Lagos, Edo, Oyo, Kano, Imo, Rivers and Abuja ? Even Kaduna and Kwara get am. Proof me wrong

The last time I checked, chlorine is one of the cheapest chemicals. It is so cheap it is used in high quantity in bleach and co.

Bella please explain to us what chemical and how has it increased the purity from the previous chemical.
PoliticsRe: A Truce Between Pro And Anti Goodluck Jonathan On Nairaland by aljharem(m): 10:30am On Jul 09, 2012
ermmmmm Bella, that is wrong. Stop telling people about alpha and beta chemicals for pure water.

I am sure that Beta chemical has a name.

As far as I am concern, the only purifying agent in Nigeria pure water is chlorine because it coagulate small particles, kill bacteria through osmosic pressure and also give the water some ions needed as a counter ion.

Fu,cking hell, the sort of lies this website recieves from proGEJ is so stu.pid and annoying.

Oya tell the this "Beta chemical"

maybe you are talking of flocculation, and there is no Beta chemical involved.

ypzilanti: In summary, Pro GEJ argue that we shall soon begin reaping the benefits of GEJs government.

In summary, Anti GEJ say that from GEJs antecedents and projecting from what he has done or not done presently, he is going down as one of the worst prseidents ever.

All agree that presently things are not ok (putting it mildly).

Can we all then sign up a truce that if a year from now the following is not achieved the pro GEJs will move to the other side of the aisle?

1. Oil subsidy and pension scam people prosecuted successfully.

2. Good federal roads all over the country.

3. At least 80 percent improvement in power.

4. At least 10 percent improvement in employment.

5. At least 50 percent improvement in security.

6. At least 70 percent budget implementation.

7. Reversal of recurrent to capital expenditure ratio of 70 to 30 percent.

Where he achieves this basic level, can anti, GEJ move to the other side of the aisle?

I am the first to sign this truce. Here's hoping for a quiet nairaland by this time next year.

Thank you.
because of that singlular stu.pidity, pure water is 10 naira now in Lagos and 20 naira in other places angry angry angry angry stu.pid people

pslm23: My late grandmother(from Rivers State) told me this:

Coconut rice was staple with the igbos during the war. They had lots of coconut trees and rice and salt and pepper. so one day, someone decided to cook rice differently for the starving children and people and coconut was used. Now, if coconut rice was cooked way before the Biafran war in some other country, I do not know but all my life I've come to believe that it started with the igbo people during the war.

Moi moi: It might be a Yoruba dish and again it might not be. All my life, all the moi moi that i've eaten came from the Igbo's. I've eaten something prepared by the Yoruba's that looks like moi moi but isn't moi moi. This one is softer and more peppery and sticks to the teeth.

Is Agidi an igbo food?
Ofe N'sala is igbo
N'ri oka is igbo

Ofe Onugbu is igbo
Ngwogwo is igbo (but i won't be caught dead eating it... smiley isn't this intestines of a goat or cow?)
I think you are wrong ma.

Coconut rice originated from thailand. http://www.shesimmers.com/2009/03/mango-and-sweet-coconut-sticky-rice.html

Moi-moi orginated from Oyo aka Yoruba

in fact the Moi moi was made with eko.

here is an account of brazilians etc in the 1800 giving account on how they made moi-moi of which no other country had no influence except the yorubas

http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=JTBSpuCkl9AC&pg=PA197&dq=moi+moi+food+origin&hl=en&sa=X&ei=nhz3T73kD6eH0AXjhpmlBw&ved=0CDYQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=moi%20moi%20food%20origin&f=false

This dangote vs Ibeto issue is NOT a hausa vs Igbo thing. Chai !!!! see naija mentality, very backwards.

I understand what most posters here are complaining here about. Monopoly is not good for any economy. Not withstanding you cannot blame Dangote for have a monopoly in some certain sectors in our economy.

Lets encourage dangote and ibeto, Nigeria and indeed africa market is large enough for 2 monopolist if they so wish.
undecided

The “same” or similar?
Portuguese is similar to Spanish why don’t we thus force a sole identity on them? Ah of course because they are pretty much nation states and Nigeria is a heterogeneous country thus the desire to summarize groups most especially minorities.
As regards to your question we all (as well as some other groups) are classified as "Edoid" hence the similarities in language and culture just like the Portuguese and Spanish for example. We are an “Edo” group collectively and some of our histories tie but we still hope to maintain our individuality not out of spite or malice for each other but for our own convenience and wish. I think outsiders should respect the identity we choose to wear not what they think or hope we should be. Notwithstanding we are still siblings but not siamese and we acknowledge each other.
My sister, this mentality is wrong.

Would every single tiny local government be called a tribe one day ?

BusinessRe: Will Walmart's Coming End Igbo Business In Nigeria? by aljharem(m): 8:05am On Jul 04, 2012
Obiagu1: It's better to prevent Walmart and co from coming to Nigeria; no one knows the dynamics. I've warned about this before. It's not only Igbos that will be affected but the middle class. I hope our government is getting ready for welfare system too for those that will completely lose hope in getting out of poverty.
gbammm gbammm gbammm you are very much on point !!!

There is no point talking here when we can prevent it. It is not only Igbo business that would be affected but all small and medium scale business.

Our government have no foresight.

Since Nigeria is a good place for investment why cant they (US) bring some of their manufacturing companies here to contribute to economic development.

I love the Igbos/Igboid because of there drive. They do with they believe in. Love their food as well, simply amazing. friendly and kind people as well. Even those on Nairaland like Igbo2011, Agbaworo, ChenyereN, freecocoa and co

The Hausas and fulanis are very friendly people as well. Very welcoming and fun loving. Never a dull moment around them grin . Likes of Fulaman, namfav and co have done well for the fulanis on nairaland.

The Kanuris are a special group, Just love their culture.

The Urhobos, Edos etc are just a funny set of people. They crack jokes wey fit make ur belle open. Friendly and open minded.

The Ijaws I must say are the most open minded people I have met real life. Fun loving and funny as well. likes of Ibime and co on Nairaland have painted a good picture of Ijaws.

If I was not Yoruba I would defiantly be either Ijaw or Fulani

My brother, the closest thing to boko haram now is PDP. I am not wise but I know that PDP and boko haram connection is glaring.

How have they given PDP a good mouth for propaganda ?
PoliticsRe: ACN, CPC To Finalise Merger Talks In October by aljharem(m): 12:09pm On Jul 03, 2012
Gbawe: Has anyone in the SW complained to you? You won't find many in the SW who care about the religious practices of leaders. Rather, it is the performance of leaders that matter. You cannot invoke any fear of "Islamization" amongst a people secure in themselves and coexisting in tolerance.
Thank you my brother !!!

Most of these people need to know what they call religious tolerance.
PoliticsRe: ACN, CPC To Finalise Merger Talks In October by aljharem(m): 12:07pm On Jul 03, 2012
Dr Raymond: Buhari/el-rufa/CPC are frontliners in tribalism, religious bigotry and a secret die-hard supporters and financiers of boko haram. ACN is gradually islamizing the southwest....check out all ACN states, muslims have dominated near all. From party executives to the state executives, senators, rep. members, assembly members, local govt chairmen to mention few. So ACN/CPC alliance is a calculated attempt to islamize nigeria. As for el rufai, he is a disgrace. Was he not part of the PDP govt? Was he not guning for presidency under PDP. He is an opportunist and a lousy traitor. let see how the merger will go and comr to think of it they are even planning a muslim/muslim ticket......jokers
I can't believe this. LOL grin grin grin grin

You people are scared of Islamization of the SW but the SWerners are NOT COMPLAINING. !!!

kettykin: The Niger Deltans and South East should pull Human Capital and Financial resources to build a world Class University some where around PH for easy accessibility or around Calabar for calmness and less distracted learning, this University will easily beat the South West University and make double sure that the Brain Box of Nigeria and Africa remains in the EAST for the next 1000 years just like Americans are struggling to prevent the brain box of the world of Leaving America for China or japan.

The East is Providing the Brain Box today because of the Proactive measures they took in the 60s and 70s after the civil war when communities labored to sponsor people overseas to read .
what !!!!

It is not a competition ! At the end of the day it is for all Nigerians to be proud of.

Andre Uweh: If this is a reality, then it should be sited in Ibadan. Ibadan is the the heart of Yorubaland and it will be near to every south westerner.
About MKO, MANY PEOPLE ARE NOT HAPPY that UNILAG was named after him.
So restore the name UNILAG and let the new uni be called MKO Abiola university, Ibadan.
I agree with you but there is no point now, Unilag is gone just like thousands of FG institute. We in the west and indeed the whole of Nigeria cannot be waiting for the FG. Never !!!

But you have a point
EducationRe: Southwestern University Finally Out - In God We Trust !!! by aljharem(op): 11:42am On Jul 03, 2012
Andre Uweh: May be this uni should be called M. K. Abiola university.
Where is the uni going to be located?.
No, already Unilag is renamed, we are not goin to rename everything in SW after MKO after all MKO was a nationalist so why make it regional ?

It should be located in Lagos, In fact I would prefer if it is located in Lekki or Ajah for the Nigerian elites.
