No offense to my Igbo brothers and sisters but I have to ask. . .why are you getting offended that this topic was put on the front page? huh huh

There have been numerous threads about Hausas and Yorubas. . . threads where even when there is no element of tribalism to it eventually turns into one because you guys are quick to flip the script but when a a thread about Igbo(s) is posted. . .you start screaming persecution.

There was no reason for this THIS THREAD to degenerate to the level it did yet it did. . .any one wanna take a wild guess at who threw the first punch? https://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/23.gif

The most persecuted Tribe on NL is the Hausas, you call us the nastiest names. . .as I type right now, I bet y'all are already imagining me with an AK45 firmly attached to my left side, a dagger on the right and a belt of grade A grenades hooked to my dirty (from sitting on the floor because we are uncivilized)abaya (don't deny it. . cheesy ) Yet you don't see us claiming false persecution even though in our case it won't be false.

Abeg! Y'all should chill on the hysteria naa. . .remember the story of the boy who cried wolf? I'm just sayin'https://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/65.gif
You see what I mean, I remember when you blame me for tribal bashing before. The Igbos on this site are the craziest ppl you can ever meet. Real life, Igbos are nice people but on Nairaland, they are something else.

It took the Ghanaian attack to make you support my position which you have lied about for years.
Kudos to you Alj_harem. shocked
So when are going to support the creation of Biafra? cool
Hhahah dude crap country does mean it cannot be better, it is likes of you that is frustrating those of us that wish to make it better.

We take criticism and try to work on it. Most you PDP or GEJ fans hate that.

Just yesterday Nigeria became the ridicule of the world by a documentry that said we sold crude oil for low prices and buy at a much higher price.

Ghana is building her refineries but when likes of me talk about Nigeria doing the same, you would all support beaf and gang up against the truth. LOL grin grin funny but true.

Onlytruth: My 2 cents that Ghana won't try anything.
I know that Nigeria has MANY issues, but we can survive Ghana deportations. The question is CAN GHANA SURVIVE NIGERIA CUTTING OFF DIPLOMATIC LINKS WITH GHANA? huh
You may think this is a tea party kind of tussle; it is not.
No sane West African country should engage Nigeria in a diplomatic tussle. Nigerian market/economy is about 70% of the West African market/economy.
There is a lot Nigeria can do with that internationally and diplomatically.
pure crap !!!!! unless ego

Better talk some sense to yourselves and your leaders and stop disgracing yourselves with some egocentric post. If Nigeria economy is that good, why do Nigerians migrate to Ghana then ?
PoliticsRe: Reps Ask ECOWAS To Stop Deportation Of Nigerians From Ghana by aljharem(m): 5:21pm On Jun 25, 2012
sad but true, that is what Nigeria has reduced herself to be. The lowest of lows.

Even our president cannot build common refinery, Nigeria is still selling our crude oil and buying it at a higher price.

Well Nigerians called this on themselves due to tribalism which out rule common sense.

Our Ghanaian brothers carry on jare. I heard you have started building your refineries. I wish you the very best even better than Nigeria since our some of eastern brothers are too dum.b to see that building a refinery is our ace-card.

Keep deporting them till they get some sense. Just this week south africa has disgraced them and their passport. Very soon I hope Ghana follow suit.

PoliticsRe: Fashola Rejects Creation Of Additional States by aljharem(op): 2:55pm On Jun 23, 2012
J12: Mr man keep quiet!
Fashola is wrong this time

1. State creation enables faster development and growth. Thats a fact!
2. The local government system has failed. In case you don't know, 27 states don't have an elective LG council in place. Even in states where there are elected LG councils, the state governors nullify the councils at will and mosttimes, they withhold LG funds or even misappropriate them. The LG chairmen are nothing but stooges to state governors. To state governors: more LG, more funds to loot and play with. Ask Orji Uzor Kalu
3. The immunity clause is anachronistic and has no place in a democracy. We are battling with corruption in Nigeria, and we don't need laws that encourage corruption, they are immoral. The immunity clause is immoral and it needs to be removed.
You say he is wrong but yet agreed with him ? *the two highlight* What exactly are you saying ?

2. Sir what has Abia, Ekiti, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Zamfara, etc all achieved since their creation ?

3. Why not join the states together ? In reality Nigeria should not have more 6 states.

Go figure
PoliticsRe: Fashola Rejects Creation Of Additional States by aljharem(op): 2:50pm On Jun 23, 2012
Ngwakwe: Just address what I said and the reason for calling your god (Fashola) a hypocrite.

Why didn't he dissolve those Development Authorities (of which I'm in support of their creation). He went ahead and conducted elections in more than 50 LGA/CDAs instead of constitutional approved 20 Lgas.

Just because Lagos State is not going to benefit from creation of more States, its now a bad idea but if it was for the creation of more LGAs for Lagos State to balance it with what Kano State has by virtue of Lagos State population, it would have been a welcome development.

Hypocrites
Again my brother, you are not making any sense here. This man is literally tell you that the states we have in Nigeria today are not even viable not to talk of creation of more states and you are here saying crap. The only hypocrite here is you because if you want more state creation then Lagos state also proposed Lagoon state thus more fund for them.

Who loses, those that worth nothing or the person that worth's something and would even get more. Why do you think Tinubu supported the creation of Lagoon state by Fashola rejected it ? You think he has anything to lose from that ? SMH you are indeed not thinking at all.

http://lagoonstatemovement.org/justification.html

Thus the real indigenes of Lagos are gearing up for Eko state and Lagoon state. Fashola is the thinking man here and you are still saying rubbish.

Since the creation of Abia and Ebonyi, what have they achieved for Nigeria ? Ekiti and Osun and not any better as well. Zamfara, Nassarawa, Jigawa and co are not any better as well.

It is time to start thinking but if likes of you want to go through this insane path, then so be it we shall see who go lose at the end of the day.

BTW Fashola is not my god but simply better than all Nigerian governors I have seen.

I thought NL is for interllectuals not junks that put tribalism into issues. When new states have not been created, are they not syphoning public funds? States creation must go on. I support the creation of Ibadan state.
WTF is Ibadan state ?

How much does Nigeria as a country produce all together not to talk of Ibadan city ?

I am sorry but in my post I would use some harsh words but I would say nothing but the truth here for those with brains to follow

1. Those that disagree with Fashola here or even insult him are either the enemy of progress or just love the current system of corruption.

2. @ Ngwakwe, maybe it is bigotry that made you not to think properly before posting or something but you call Fashola a hypocrite because he would loot more ? That is the da.ftest statement on Nairaland all month, quote me on this.

He clearly stated that the so called immunity clause should be removed from out constitution so for likes of you that think Fashola is looting can sue him for corruption charges provided you have some evidence to back it up.

3. @ Afam4eva, money to fund state police should come from each individual state fund. That is not difficult to do, likes of Beaf and co have been calling states leeches right ? Then let those states/regions that can afford a state police fund themselves and those that can should try to find a way to generate revenue for themselves so as to fund it.

Lastly most of the comments here indeed shows us why Nigeria is backward. It is indeed correct that an average Nigerian has an IQ of 67 (a mo,ron). All we as a nation are still living on is the legecy likes of Shagari, Buhari, Obj and IBB left for us since their time and yet these people are the most insulted. GEJ is there for us now, as far as I am concerned he has not done anything worth any praise.

You all better start thinking and don't mortgage your children's future because of bigotry

PoliticsFashola Rejects Creation Of Additional States by aljharem(op): 1:36am On Jun 23, 2012
Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, has described the agitation for the creation of additional states by some Nigerians as an attempt to cause confusion that may result in balkanising the existing states.

The Governor made this position known on Friday during a one-day public hearing on the proposed amendment to the 1999 Constitution by the National Assembly, organised by the State House of Assembly.

Fashola, who maintained that the country would incur huge cost for administrative and personnel purposes in creating more states, added that the agitation should be for the creation of more Local Government areas as this would enhance the much needed development at the grassroots and bring government closer to the people.

According to him, “most states are currently not sufficiently viable to justify further subdivision.

“It may well be that the agitation for more inclusiveness in governance and for rapid development may be better addressed by the creation of more local governments than it can be done by the creation more states.”

Fashola also opposed the removal of the immunity clause from the Constitution as canvassed by members of the public, arguing that it is meant for the office as against individuals who occupy privileged offices.

Emphasising that the office preserves its dignity and ensures the effectiveness of administration, the Governor said: “while it is regrettable that there may have been actions which are indicative of abuses of the privilege by some office holders, the privilege of immunity is not for the benefit of the office holder.

“Retention of the clause would prevent unfounded allegations of criminality against top public officials which, if allowed, would bring massive distractions.

“Even where the allegation that necessitates trial relates to corruption or other criminal offences, it is trite that time does not run against investigation and prosecution of offenders. What would have been achieved with the removal of the immunity clause could be achieved at the expiration of the tenure of the serving officials.”

Most of the contributors at the hearing supported the creation of more local governments with some advising that states be given the powers to create local governments instead of what currently obtains.

They also called for the scrapping of the list of local governments from the constitution.

It's just when you people stick your noses into our business or do some coward stff to us then thats when we jump at you. It is not the same for yoruba. Even here in the diaspora, you people can not live without letting Igbo come out of your moves. It's pathetic really because you all do it,lol. The average Igbo family don't every worry about you all that's why it amazes my how yoruba families ALWAYS got something to say about Ndi Igbo. I'm like man-up and let the insecurities go and mind your own businesses.smh.
My brother, I have told you the truth. It is upto you to accept it or run away from it as usual as I stated earlier. Real life I can say 90 % of Yoruba tribalist here would not even be tribalistic but Nairaland turn them to what they are.

Oh I remember how Syxmexx, Jason, Dayokanu, Ileke idi etc all started compare to now. The sooner you Nairaland Igbos realise that Yorubas have nothing against Igbos and infact we are you only allies the better it is for "southern Nigeria" or Nigeria.

Most of you Igbos are just insecure and paranoid when a yoruba man speaks his language or something but NO YORUBA PERSON WOULD SAY THE SAME ABOUT IGBOS fact !!!

All in all, that is the past. The sooner you see US YORUBAS AS YOUR BROTHERS, SISTERS, COUSINS ETC Just as we see Igbos then the better for everyone else.

All this hate and propaganda against yoruba would only end to your demise. FACT ! Just saying

I would never ever support a Yoruba bigot real life or even on cyber world. I hope Ndigbo nairaland can do the same and stop being hypocritical. Thanks for the talk chyz smiley

*Yawn*

Typical Igbo person, never accept responsibility for their leaders inaction, triators of the south and double mouthed. Always blaming others

@ PointB thanks for the article of Sanusi. This has not done justice to this thread.

I for one would speak as a yoruba man in this case and I can categorically tell you that Yorubas don't even dislike or have anything against Igbos. All that have befallen Igbo nation today even to discrimination in places like Cameroon, Balysea, Jos, Benin republic, Rivers etc is all due to your tribalistic and hateful nature towards the Yorubas which has backfired. Sorry to say but that is the truth.

Until likes of you calm down and tell yourselves the undiluted truth then you would receive this peace with others.

Anyway continue with your idiocy, anytime you are being hated be rest assured that Lagos, Ibandan, Benin city, warri and Akure are there for you to migrate to. Thanks

Note, this message is for tribalistic hateful idi..ots and not for sensible people. Thanks
PoliticsRe: The Igbo And Yoruba Relationship - By Niger Delta Congress by aljharem(m): 3:33pm On Jun 22, 2012
No matter how hard yoruba try to explain to the Igbos, they would never understand. All we hear is Awo this Awo that. It was recently discovered that ojukwu even joined a northern party. If it was Yoruba, watch as they would shout traitor etc.

This is one thing I utmost dislike about Igbos on Nairaland, apart from that I am fine with them but hypocrisy.

No matter how loved Awolowo is in the SW, yorubas would not protect his image if he did something wrong. It is not the first time we have seen some Young yoruba boys and girls coming on Nairaland apologising for what they know nothing about because they do not understand where the hate is coming from.

I for one have always understood this whether SS/Niger-delta agree to it or not. There is no other reason why I come on Nairaland because I know that if lies are allowed to fly for years, it would become the truth.

When I see young men not understanding this, it is very painful. It was Nnamdi and Ojukwu that sold the south a very long time ago. Now Middle-belt, South-south are just dancing to the tune Igbos set for them. Yorubas are still Igbos best allies and best friends no matter how much Igbos hate us and they know it.

Deep in every Igbo tribalist and biafran's hate/heart, they know that Yorubas would never intentional do anything to hurt them or destroy there political career. That is why when Nairaland Igbos talk they insult us as cowards or other silly statements like we own 70 % of the SW vote etc. Time and time again yoruba just look and turn the other side, I doubt if any other group can do that without causing trouble.

All in all, whether they chose to believe or not is completely upto them. I am interested in all Yorubas to know the exact thing that went on and understand the politics of the time.
