@ All

Man, being a bodyguard seems like a waste of my time (Do not think of me as obnoxious, but I believe the talent of Nigeria's graduates should not be wasted on such things). In one year as an entrepreneur, I owuld have made more money than a bodyguard or infantryman for that matter. The problem is time, and I dont want to waste any of it.

The thing is, it would take far more time in times of peacetime to rise in rank than in times of war. I guess the only options are:

a) bribe
b) finding a Godfather to sponser me
c) being a bodyguard/ boy-boy for some years before being promoted to chaffeur
just pray to Allah for direction.

cost of a standard store in A line is about 12- 17million a year.

i was refering to why there are so many people in Lagos.

If there is a port in Lokoja, do u not think dangote might consider relocating ?

if the port in warri is open to civialian cargos do you not think onitcha trader would prefer to use it, since it is a mere 3 hours away compare to lagos which is like 8 hours ?
note Onitcha market is still the biggest market in Africa.

Thats the thing, I do not want to be a bodyguard or an infantryman for that matter. My intention is to rise to a position of command. Is there no way a graduate can quickly obtain a commanding position without attending a military academy? In other countries, graduates are automatically made officers when they enlist.
Nah, if I remember correctly. This guy did not have anybody.

My friend you have to be that bodyguard first (nothing comes easy) unless u know someone in there

Lastly unless you are applying as a tactician then that is the only way that i know of

@ Alj

I am a very good tactician and I might be willing to persue a career in the Nigerian Army, but I do not know any majors, colonells, generals, or commanders. Is there hope?
Yes there u can still hit the top. I know of a yoruba man that started 10 yrs ago and now he is a top dog. There is hope. One thing I can advice you in is to be close to a general or better still be part of the people that protect and walk with a general. Walk yourself to that spot first before he can recommend you for a higher post.

Why do Yorubas think they built Lagos, abeg in what way? Before fashola, has there been any developmental effort on any scale embarked upon by anybody ?
yet Lagos did boom. thousand were trooping in.

Fashola is successful not becos he has the best brains but becos the trader opened up their wallets to pay taxes (they never did before now)(the corporations has always paid taxes), And hello, most of the trader taxed are Igbos. the yoruba markets in ketu  and mushin are not subjected to the same tax alaba and tradfair pays.

Now, lagos revenue has jumped from a miserable 4 bn to 26.8 billion every damn month.  that is like 7 times their previous revenue.

Ask ursef, why do people, esp easterner troop to Lagos,

- becos yorubas has made the place an eldorado?
-becos yorubas has made the place  secured ?
- becos yorubas have a lot of spending power ?
- becos yoruba . .  .

For christ sake, the number one thing that brings people to lagos is the seaport !
the seaport accounts for over 70% of non-corporate business activities in that lagos. And, hello , it was built by the Federal Government!

There is a seaport in portharcourt , calabar, and warri

The federal govt strictly designated the portharcourt seaport as an oil export terminal.

Calabar seaport is merely 30 feet of which has clogged up with sand, hence needs dredging - donald duke begged the OBJ govt fervently to dredge it all to no heed.
the cost of dredging it came up to be 34 billion.
the states annual budget before their only oil wells were ceded to Akwa Ibom were a meagre  36billion naira. so its clear. without the federal help, the state can not dredge the calabar seaport.

Tinapa is lying in a state all becos the seaport is comatose - not yet dredged.

WARRI seaport, the federal government also did designate the warri port for the Nigerian Navy.

do u get the picture ?
so u are letting all this NL warriors get to u

yes lagos is a yorubaland but houses different people and not only yorubas but all nigerians

DON'T LET NAIRALAND GET TO YOU

majority of Nairaland yorubas are LOUD mouths that would discoruage people
thats all toothless dogs

abeg live and let live

one day u and i would die, are we taking lagos with us to heaven undecided I dey laff o

Fools consolation.

You have proven to us before that Ndigbo has the most on-shore oil blocks in Nigeria. Who owns your oil blocks?  cool

The fact is this. It is not the prerogative of the majority to claim that minorities get fair treatment under them as NL revisionists would have us believe. The majority has no say in the matter. It is the minority who would tell you if they are being dominated or not.

In the UK, the English have no say in whether the Scottish believe they are fairly represented. The Scots have their own parliaments and can raise referendum on the issue whenever they like. It is entirely their call.

Even Saro-Wiwa said Ogoni was oppressed by Ijaw. He is correct cos that is the nature of African societies.

Meanwhile some bovine-brained NL warriors are trying to force down our throats the lie that they are equitable partners in Eastern Nigeria, whilst still talking down to us as overlords. Some are even making mockery of their education by posting names of Divisonal Governors as proof of "Federalism".  grin

As for my nuclear family, we are proponents of Biafra, but I cannot blame any minority in the Eastern Region for fighting against Biafra, being that that was the only and immediate Government they had had all their lives, and which they believe was inequitable. One may say they jumped from the Deep Blue Sea into the hands of the Devil, but when someone's life is only affected by his immediate Govt, he is inculpable for fighting the devil he knows.
thank u wink
