The S.E already have something like this initiative in the pipeline. Something along cooperation on power generation development for the region using the coal deposits in Enugu, agricultural infrastructural development in Ebonyi state etc. Its time all states start thinking about social, political, economical and infrastructural development along regional lines. Who knows, there could be cooperation between the SE and SW on economic and political areas.[/quote]good one them people congrates SE and SW may this news become a reality Amin insha Allah people remember poverty and suffering knows no ethnic group or tribe |

Eziachi: Believe it or not I will not try to change your mind about what you chose to believe based solely on your steretype. Since the creation of man, steretype has always been around. Stereotype is like a prison you chose to confine yourself and hence living in bondage. Like you said, you will never go into a business with an Igboman, that is what stereotypical attidude does to people because the person who could give you the brightest prosect in life could be an Igbo man but you now holding yourself in bondage based on your stereotype of an Igbo person.
I had mentored many doctors from all over the world and one of my best students was a Latvian and a Yoruba guy. When he first saw the report I wrote to recommend him for a job, he came back to say something I don't want to devulge here but it based on what he grew up hearing about Igbos and for one year he had no idea that I am of West African let alone an Igbo person until heared me discussing about my pet like (Biafra). Because of thw way had trated him like my own son from day one.
Most problem we have today in the world has its root from stereotype, from parents to their children and it goes on and on. But the loser is the person like you who will not live in a house owned by an Igbo man because I knew for sure that all my family houses in Lagos with tenants in them do not pay us rent every November/December since 1978. Since those houseS were built and that is the sort of incentives of live people like you misses in life because they are hold bondage by their fear of people they don't actually know but based their sterotype on what they heard or read but not actually experienced because I knew for sure that at least 40% of tenants we got in Lagos are non Igbos. ermmm sir, there is no sterotype here all i just did is point out the minds of the people whether some igbos do it or not is non of my business, i deal with individuals rather than "what is his ethnic group" i have lived in anambra, lagos and borno and i have been to majority of the states in nigeria and i am saying the mind of the people, just like southerners think any northern muslim they see is an illitrate same can be said about them even on this forum, you can see they way them insult northerners calling almajiri etc that is that is there sterotype they have about northerners, although they do not show it ourside the internet but it just shows the heart of men. so sir i have no sterotype on anyone i just said the reality on ground in nigeria.,.,. moreover nollywood is not helping at all |
NYSC › Two Nysc Members Die In Bayelsa Boat Mishap by aljharem3(op): 9:22pm On May 07, 2011 |
Tragedy struck, Friday, in the coastal waterway of Bayelsa as two National Youth Service Corps members serving in the state lost their lives in a boat mishap. Though the identity of the corps members could not be immediately ascertained, the tragic incident, it was gathered occurred along the Nembe creek in the Nembe local government area of the state. The deceased corps members were said to have left Nembe Friday afternoon, and were heading to Yenagoa, the state capital when the speedboat in which they travelling was involved in an head on collision with another boat in the winding creek. It was learnt that the deceased corps members were thrown overboard alongside other passengers and got drowned as they could not swim. A source at the state NYSC directorate said a team had been dispatched to the area to gather first hand information on the possible cause of the boat mishap and the identity of the victims. But at the time of filing this report, the corpses of the drowned corps members were yet to be recovered even as the villagers along the Nembe creek were said to have intensified the search for their bodies. Attempts to get the comment of the state coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Nnenna Ukoha proved abortive but a source said they heard of the incident and had dispatched a team to the area. According to the source they are waiting for the bodies to be the recovered for them to ascertain the identity of the victims. When contacted the police public relations officer, Mr. Eguavoen Emokpae (ASP) confirmed the tragic incident but said information at his disposal was still sketchy. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/05/two-nysc-members-die-in-bayelsa-boat-mishap/ |

namfav: exactly, and it is the same media which instigates every situation, if a southerner is killed in the north the headline is "christian killed in the north", it sends out a message of hatred all the time giving birth to hardcore unprogressive sentiment which we clearly see on this forum
people under estimate the power of the media and how it plays in the psychology of the people in the country, get rid of se/ss influence in the media and a big chunk of the problem is eridcated gbammmmmmm thank you na gode they scream each time a SE or SS person die even if it was by a motor accident or any other thing they will say northerners are killing southerners; christians are been killed by muslims.//./. etc this people are the problem we have in nigeria today, we are alway trying to unite but they always push us back, when we go back then they will start screaming "born to rule" etc . even on NL you can see how they have generated anti-northern sentiment everywhere (beaf/ ezeuche and the rest) an outer would think the north is own hell zone and are non-progressive Well Allah will jugde |

Politics › Re: ACN Not A Yoruba Party, Says Ngige by aljharem3: 7:21pm On May 07, 2011 |
edicolove: I just want to add that one of the serious problems we have in the country and south west in particular is that there is so much propaganda that people are now believing lies. I will list a few:
1. That only the south west govs are doing well in Nigeria. This is a very big propaganda that have been sold by the SW controlled press. It is very far from the truth. The best governor since 1999 is still Donald Duke who was a PDP Gov. Fashola has still not met his achievements no matter how much you try to hype him. Fashola is trying to repair things. He built systems from the scratch. I need not elaborate. Fastward to the present. Govs that can match Fashola for achievements are Rotimi Amaechi (actually doing better than Fashola). Goodswill Akpabio, Sullivan Chime. Someone said Akpabio rigged. Well you can say that because you read the Nation newspaper. Akpabio does not need to rig an election. He will win 10 times out of 10 elections. You only need to travel to Akwa Ibom to know that. The guy is a star. He is building a world class state.
2. That Yorubas have a progressive ideology and the rest of the country does not. Well this is another falsehood. I live in Lagos, What the Yorubas portray here is not a progressive ideology but a tribal one. Their "we are better than you" mentality is very funny. Lagos is not this developed because it is a Yoruba state but because it was once the capital of Nigeria and a major business hub in Nigeria. In fact is that the population of Yorubas in Lagos is not more than 2 in 5 persons.
3. That the Yoruba candidates are better than the candidates of the other parties. This I find very funny and very hypocritical. One of the most corrupt states in Naija is Lagos. Ask any one that pays his tax here. The government circle here is full of political jobbers sharing the state loot. Fashola is trying and I wont deny that but even he is being persecuted by the ACN chieftains, particularly Tinubu. And for the records, most ACN candidates from the other states that made little impact in the last elections were all ex PDP members who were aggrieved that they didnt get the PDP ticket. Even Amosun who won Ogun governorship was a former PDP man and an OBJ boy. The ACN man in Akwa Ibom was a 2 time PDP senator and only joined ACN in Jan when he lost in the primaries to Akpabio. He was useless during his tenure as a senator for 8 years. We didnt even know he existed in the senate. So what difference would he have made in Akwa Ibom? Same goes for Benue and Adamawa. Even Ngige was a former PDP man. Very funny how people can become so called progressives when they suddenly loose out in the primaries.
4. That Nigerians are seeing the performance of ACN govs. Well only Fashola has shown any real sign of performance. Oshiomole is just coming on the scene and is showing some promise and I pray he does well. But even Fashola still has a long way to go. The propaganda machine in the south west was able to play down the many failures of Fashola. The health and Education sectors where totally messed up during the last 8 years. Lasu was closed down every now and then during Fahosla's first term. Medical doctors were on strike for months. I need not say too much. It was a real mess. Alimosho is still a mess. But like I said b4, he is trying so we give him the benefit of doubt that he will sort these areas out this time around. But to say he is a role model, I dont agree at all. Building 3 toll gates in one residential area to extort residents of that area is not a good example to follow. I hope the Lagos water ways project will not remain a myth. And the irony of it all is that he said he would not come back for another term. In his words, it is only someone who fails that needs to re-sit. first of all the media is controlled by the SE and SS we have about 25 media houses in nigeria 1 is controled by northerners and 2-3 by yorubas the remaining 21-22 is controlled by igbos and ijaws so what are you talking about i think u need to get your fact right before u talk ok |

Eziachi: Your characterization of a typical Igboman is a typical steroetypical Igboman coined by Nigeria to keep us ever down after 1970 but in reality doesn't hold any water. I knew I don't money more than I love you, let alone my dear mother.
Afterall IBB, OBJ, IBORI, I.G BALOGUN, AKINGBOLA, ABACHA etc non of them is Igbo, but they are the face of greed and love of money anyone can remember in recent time. You may be surprised that when really come close to most Igbos, you might be the one that love money more than them.
Our ability to hussle and not to rely on govt for everything and our aggresiveness to defend what we make based on our past experience has been misconstrued as love of money especially after the war. Every single year go to many Igbo town and see how they choose their leaders without rigging in their various town Union Organisation. So what happened in Imo is nothing new if Nigeria allow us to choose our leaders without imposing them on us. Afterall it was OBJ that imposed OHAKIM on Imo people.
Never you stereotype a people you don't really know but think you knew based on what your parent who as much knew little too told you or you read. Travel and See. Nigeria doesn't start and end just in your village or Lagos. No sir this sterotype is real and i have studied it and i can confirm to you that yes some igbos can do anything for money, yes i mean anything absoutly anything for money which inculde selling their dick, killing there brother or relative, children ,.,. so on. although it is a common trace in southern nigeria (yoruba, ijaw, bini etc) you have mentioned leaders who are corrupt and that can be found everywhere, from kalu, to ohakim to tinubu so i can not pin point the trace in the corrupt leaders, infact it was even evidence in the last election was it not sir, i do not think that sterotype will leave anytime soon. because I for one can not do business with an igbo man without fearing for my life or my family life and u know that is true. even livng in a flat built by an igbo man is scracy enough. Now i think the cause of this has to do with there hustling abilty and reputation that has given them so much ego they will do anything to be rich also nollywood has not help at all |
