I have been on this forum for a while. I have had debates with both men. Eziachi is mature, even though he is a "Biafran", you can still sense that he wants equality, fairness and ONE NIGERIA. One more thing, his views are balanced and well thought of! Onlytruth (or Onlylies, as some people call him ) is a bigot. He never sees fairness as long as Igbos are not the ruling class. He never sees anything good in other ethnic groups, why? because he thinks everyone hates Igbos. He is paranoid individual. Even if Nigeria is "fair" (the definition of fair to him is stated above) enough to the Igbos, he will still find a way to say Nigeria is not fair. He unruly adds the SE and SS in his republic, you must notice he never adds Edo, only Oil producing communities. He is a bigot QED!

Eziachi is a good representation of the model Igbo man that I know in the real world. Not bias, sees true fairness and understands situations before talking. Onlytruth's mind is one track. You can almost predict him, all he talks about is, "Hausa, Fulanis, Yorubas and some silly SSoutherners! Betrayers! Traitors! Igbos are the best! Oil blah blah! Ruin economies! 98% of this state! Etc.

Alhaji, I just found out that the Innoson guy imports the parts and assembles them in Nigeria. This is an avenue for the foreign company to evade tax (or pay lower tax) while having the market of over 150 million to sell to. I think its not fair. To be honest, I'll appreciate if we can actually produce and assemble. This current method, to me, is a rip off!

nah, even the so called oil companies like Onado , capital oil etc don't refine our oil in Nigeria. they export it and import it back. Might be a rip off but if the government does not invest in them, how do you expect them to branch out and start there own branch ?

Fg Issues 20 Licences To Ipps

ABUJA- The Federal Government,Tuesday, made good its promise to drive the new era in the power sector with the private sector as it issued 20 licences to independent power producers, IPP.

They are expected to add 6258 mega watts of electricity to the nation grid within the next 36 months. A distribution licence was also issued to Aba Power Limited for tenure extension in Aba, Imo State.

Perhaps the most remarkable of the licences was the one issued to Zuma Energy Nigeria Limited to produce 1,200Mw from coal deposits in Itobe, Kogi State.

Presenting the licences, Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji said: “From the budget of the Ministry of Power, we are giving N20 billion to the bulk trader so they will have money to pay for power from power producers. We are also giving N20 billion to NELMCO to assist in buying over most of the liabilities of the government power operators in preparation for the privatisation.

“The privatisation is moving forward and we expect that by the second or third quarter of next year, we should have concluded the process and handed the sector over to private concerns.”

Also speaking at the event, Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, Mr. Sam Amadi, said five other firms were undergoing scrutiny for the possible issuance of similar licences.

He described the issuance of the licences as a landmark event for the sector, noting that the licence to the bulk trader to commence operations is also a major boost to the reforms in the sector.

Chairman of the Independent Power Producers Association of Nigeria, Prof Jerry Gana, expressed joy that some of the impediments that had hindered independent power producers from operation in the last one year had been resolved by government.

He tasked the owners of the licences to ensure speedy commencement of work “such that Nigerians will begin to enjoy stable power sooner than expected.”

He charged the Federal Government to fund the bulk trader, pointing: “That is our key agency. We sell to them when they produce and they make the investment worthwhile.”

An industrialist, Mr Innocent Chukwuma, says unless the nation embarks on aggressive industrialisation, unemployment rate will continue to increase.

Chukwuma, Chief Executive of Innoson Group of Companies, said this on Friday in Enugu when Assembly Committee on Commerce and Industry paid him a courtesy visit as part of their oversight function.

He decried the use of youths as political thugs, praise singers and hangers-on and urged politicians to rather advise them to learn a trade to become self-reliant. He said the desire to empower and develop the youths motivated him to establish industries against building residential estates, petrol stations or hotels.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Assembly Committee, Mr Mathew Ugwueze, said they were in the industry to familiarise themselves with him, know his problems and seek areas of mutual relationship.

Ugwueze commended him for the achievements recorded so far and gave the assurance that as lawmakers they would not make any law that would jeopardise his operation in the state.

The Leader of the Assembly, Mr Sunday Ude-Okoye, described the industrialist as ‘a good investor’ who had provided employment opportunity for youths in the state.

He urged other industrialists to invest in the South-East to create employment for the unemployed and avoid the “pull him down syndrome.” Ude-Okoye noted that time had come when legislative business should be conducted in local languages as part of efforts to revive local languages.

Yes maybe the silly part was a bit too harsh, but it came as a shock to me as well reading it. Each time I look at that generation of leaders from Gowon, etc It saddens me the level of distrust they have and still passing down to the younger generation.

People who are meant to be leaders, role model, that children and teens look up to. Are the ones pointing out our differences.

In the case of fuel subsidy or not, the government should stop buying from the importers thus they do not benefit from the fuel subsidy

An average igbo person or yoruba person has yoruba and igbo blood in them respectivally so who are you going to fight or insult other than yourselves.
