ideally, its only the A&E of any hospital that should be open, WHY? because the priority in such wards is  to save the patients life first.the question of transmission of infections is not the overriding concern, EVERY other ward ideally should not be open, I doubt the claim that hospitals abroad have open wards like one of the gentlemen above mentioned. What he probably meant was that patients were kept within the same space but with one patient partitioned from the other,
Where did you get that from

Open wards are normal in any hospital recongnised, or no abroad or in africa

Not all patients have disease problem or infection. Some might be due to to haemorrhage, cancer, heritage diseases etc

and if them need to be admitted, then an open ward is suitable for them.

and incase the doctor needs to do something private to them which requires them being private, then it is easy to just draw the curtain and do what ever.

now we can see that these northern people have nothing to offer, all the ill advise they were getting back in the days to keep Nigeria one by all means,it seems like those advice are not coming through anymore even the western world is scared to advise north cos of terrorism.
Now power is now out of their hand they cant think on how to tackle it and gain their former glory burn yo rule tactical, that always work for them but not anymore those foreigners that was giving them ill advise have distance themselves from northern cabals.

They took another ill advise to use boko harams to put southerners on-check but it back fired on them, now it is now a big problem in their region chasing even investors away tell me who is the fool here? they think to maneuver people mind all the time is easy? you need real thinkers to do that and northerners in Nigeria don't have that, you see western world have been doing it for yrs b/4 others start noticing it,and still they still find ways to maneuver developing countries indirectly.
Good Question, Nigerians are not foolls here

Look I would make this clear to you and would ever cares to read

1. People making sentiments against the north are not honest with themselves

2. The plan is simple, First remove northerners

then remove middle belters

then few years down the line remove westerners

thus making less mouth to feed in the so called black Gold. That is the plan.

I would urge people not to fall for this plan, is it the so called southerners like You, Nchara, seanto02, killayut etc that want to form a country together ?

The amount of hate posters like Nchara have posted here about Yorubas first before other SS would make you think that what it is the point of Nigeria when I am hated on all sides

I am waiting for a day people like you and Nchara would say something NO JUST ONE THING positive about Northerners or your southern friends and Neighbour such as the westerners

Just one thing.

Even as loud mouth as yorubas are on this forum, I still sense a bit of sanity in them when compared to like of Nchara or noiseless.

So every Nigerian inculding Igbos should ask, what is the problem with Nigeria.

It is simple if you think deep enough and try to put yourselves in the Hausa man's shoe, yoruba man's shoe, Igbo man's shoe etc

then Look at things from there different point of view and see what they all have in common.
Don't count on paying N150 for fuel after subsidy is removed. The government has the power to impose price control measures on these importers. FYI, there are at least 3 - 4 companies willing to replace each importer who does not want to continue importing and sell at current prices, after subsidy is gone.

Its time to open the books of these importers and let everyone see the astronomical levels of their profits at the expense of you and I.
How can the government impose prices on the importer if the cost price (ie cost of refining and importation) is more than the selling quoted price by the government ?

Why can't the government stop buying our petroleum products from them and look for better deals out side that would need them to pay any subsidy ?

Was the crude oil not sold to them by the same government ie nnpc from them to refine and import ?

What is there exact benefit that the government cannot redraw ?

Last week, the government released a list of those benefiting from the so called fuel subsidy but you should ask yourself what is the benefit in fuel subsidy ?

Was there no demand for it before they, started importing it ?

If no, then why is the government STILL buying petroleum products from this beneficial

1.There is simply nothing like those benefitting from the subsidy, its simply business
2.There is a shortfall in demand and the supply of petroleum product in the country
3.Business men import the products to make up for the shortfalls
4.There is what we call landing cost and profit margin per litre, which the importers must make from their investment
5.The govt have failed in thier social contract with the people to provide the basic nessesity by not allowing the refinaries to work

Now we know why are our refineries not working if the business man aka beneficials are the ones enjoying the fuel subsidy ?

If the subsidy is removed, Would the government still not be paying huge amount to the importers aka the benefit thieves.

Who is the government fooling about this so called fuel subsidy ?

Now if the importers decide to to change their prices, would the government not still buy it that that price since we have no refinery to produce our own crude oil.

Is the government not thinking that if the refineries are built and producing upto 80% of our daily consumsion of petrol that fuel subsidy would NATURALLY GO ?

Now BEAF please answer this questions apart from the ones stated above

1. What are our taxes used for ? Are they to pay Governors and Asorock food

2. Since the FG collects tax from the subsidy thieves, what have those sums of money been used for ?

3. Our money gotten from the exportation of crude oil, where has it gone

Lastly, given the fact that Our government no long do any governmental function for us, such as building new roads (not repair), free education etc, What would now be the job of the government ?

Or are we just paying out taxes for them to be paid ?

Please beaf I would appreciate if these questions can be answered without lies or propaganda. Thanks

Now Gowon was in a situation where it was said ever civial worker, soilder etc should go back to there region. Why did the biafrans not go back ?

You see, Gowon did his best to make people see reason but on the second though, I guess there were some elements in Igboland then that were pushing Ojukwu to fight for secession because of Oil.

Who knows, only God and Ojukwu himself ( may his sould rest in perfect peace).

Yes ojukwu engage the FG by telling them how he would secede if his needs are not met ?

If you were the FG then, and someone comes to met you that he would secede if his needs are not met with arrogance would you grant him his wish.

Ojukwu then is not the ojukwu now (or before he went)

Ojukwu then was arrogant, and he was playing his game in such a way that Gowon would be trapped

Go read his conversation with Gowon ( I though I expected Gowon to be smarter before signing the Aburi cord)

Ojukwu was a clever man who went to Oxford and even the at the aburi cord, the colonial master describe him as " He was smarter compared to his peers" ie Gowon.

Thus after Gowon made the agreement with Ojukwu, he was called by the british that void the agreement and was also advice to divide the eastern region then.

We were still under fedralism or jsut recently left fedralism, thus each region saw the other as another country but the Igbos did not see it like that back then which was very patriotic and mature of them.

Needless to say, we the new generation should not do anything that would cause thousands to die again, We should always seek diplomatic means. Now the eastern region was divided by Gowon given that the war was about Oil to Ojukwu and freedom to the Igbo people. there were 2 different mind sets here and that is why Igbos and people like you see Ojukwu as a god.

Ojukwu was the leader of Igboland by default because no one else had power more than him back then in alaigbo. He was seen then just now like know as a defender of the igbo people thus he gain the trust of the people and they saw him as a liberator.

To me I have to be honest, apart for the 30,000 killed in the north, that was about it.

IT WAS a war and as such it so happened that Igbos faced the HIGHEST causality very sad I must say. So tell me it was a genocide only implies that Ojukwu was not fighting back but igbos were killed just because they were igbos and that is  VERY WRONG FACT.

Then don't be angry or abusive when the TRUTH is been aired out. Because people like you are trying to change what caused the war making seem like people just went all out to target Igbos. I mean how is that possible. why ?

Harem, u are too intelligent. So, according to u, ojukwu suppose to have waited for the pogrom to end before he could take a decision? Oh, maybe that's why gej is waiting for boko haram to clear northerners with bombs before he takes decision. Ojukwu should have asked for protection of his people in aburi? So, it means that we dont have any right to life under a one-nigeria govt, unless we beg for it. Ojukwu should've excluded rivers and calabar from his plan? Prior to the war, was there any sort of division in the east? So, how would ojukwu know that they are not in full support of him? Do u think that igboland is bereft of sufficient oil? FYI, if anambra alone can be allowed to be their own country, i'll be highly happy.
What are you taking about nwanne.

1. Ojukwu should have asked the government to intervened in the pogrom that HAPPENED FROM 6 MONTHS.

2. What were Igbos still doing in the north for the period of 6 MONTHS if they were being killed ?

3. What do you mean by Ojukwu should have asked for protection, is that not what a normal leader would do if his people are not in there federal state ?  We were operating on regional govenment then ain't we ?

4. Yes Ojukwu should have excluded River and Cross river pior to the war, because YES THERE WAS DIVISION IN THE EAST BACK THEN. don't act like the whole east was One ethnic group. Ojukwu could only have added those ethnic groups if

         a. they asked for his protection
         b. Those ethnic groups send there presentatives like it is done even this present day in the north and west
         c. if they wanted out as well
5. Let me remind you that those ethnic groups in the eastern region then were praising celebrating and happy that the Nigeria army came to free them. If they wanted biafra as bad as the Ojukwu wanted then, there would not be celebration in Ikwerre rivers state, awka ibom etc

6. Ojukwu could have Known that they were in support of him if HE DID NOT FORCE THEM BUT SEE IF THEY WOULD SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO HIM from sos and so village or sos and so ethnic group.

7. Yes I think so, because if not then what would explain the igbo people on this site fixation on the SS. Let me remained you that the SS is not SE where Igbos are a mijority.

The SS is a geopolitical expression coined by PDP from the seperated regions of the western and eastern Nigeria. Allow each minority to chose his/her destiny without the interferance of Yoruba and Igbos

The yorubas understand that quite clear why can't igbos too understand that. In the SS, there are Ijaws, itsekrir, ilaje (YORUBA), anioma (Igbo), akoko edo ( yoruba), usen, bini, ikwerri, ibibio, ndoki, opobo, kalabari, urhobo, isoko, annage etc you name the rest.

so what is wrong in that. After all the mid-west was created from Nnamdi Azikwe to reduce Awolowo's power so why are you people complaing about the division of the so called eastern region ?

kasiem:
For those castigating ojukwu. Okay, i'm just curious to know what u guys would've done if u were in ojukwu's shoe.
If I was In ojukwu's shoes this are the things I would have considered doing

1. After the pogroms in the north, I would not allow my people to go back there until the issue is settled

2. If still unsettled, I would then do what he did by bring every Igboland under protection and allow those outside Igboland to fend for themselves

3. In aburi meeting, I would have asked for the protection of my people and would not declear secession

4. I would call the international committee to witness you POSITION CLEAR AND SOUND.

5. If at all, I had no choice but feel I have to secede, I would only take Igboland and no other, unless others have come for protection then I would not be the soul leader but make a sort of conference for leaders from each ethnic group to talk and agree on issues.

6. I would never have invaded neutrals in the mid-west and western Nigeria. Instead of I would try to make the neutrals to see reason with me, not try to invade them.

7. I would have release the neutral leader earilier to make my intentions clear to the neutral people that I was no longer part of this misconception called Nigeria and as such I hold no power to hold an prisoner held by Nigeria. Not that I would wait for Gowon to make a deal with me before I release him and yet you expect those people to see me as the one that librated them ?

8. If the situation gets to the stage of the a WAR, I would rather just protect my provice and I would never try to invade a neutral position. By so the international committee would see that it was a war to protect his people not to fight against Nigeria.

9. and FINALLY, I WOULD NEVER EVER LEAVE MY PEOPLE TO BE DYING WHILE I HAVE NOT SURRENDERED BUT RUN AWAY. I rather die for the cause that 2 million died for than say alive and run for presidency in the enemies quaters. I would see it as an insult to the dead because of my fight.

Those are the things I would have done If I was in Ojukwu's shoes but also there are various factors that might be modified given the fact that Ojukwu did not tell us what transpered between him and Awo and between him and the Nigerian army.

God is going to bless you for this;
you put down my stance on the Biafran War.
After reading random journals and various ethnically biased opinios on the war, especially listening to friends and relatives from the south. I came to my own conclusion that the war most likely began due to greed and that arrogance is never a way to solve community situations.
No1 its not an unknown fact the igbos only decided they were regionally of any sort of value after the sudden oil discovery. Just like the killings by the criminal coups in 66 it was a matter of trying to assert your dominace. Like animals scrambling to become the King of the Kingdom.
I understood all that was written in the journals written by Effiong. I do not support or belive in war, it never solves anything and just serves as a playground for the coldhearted and blood thirsty (obama) to play games with real lives. However I must mention, all that was mentioned in the journals describes the situatiuon during the war and  thereby clearly not justifying the cause. Its simply consequence, fine they were beaten starved and brutally mistreated but thats not the reason you started war? We know very well those that were for the biafran war could not care less about the biafran people and were simply protecting monetary interests (oil) with the bristish simply trying to enslave the world like they always do.
I still dont see how Ojukwu ever thought he will win? War was definitely not the way out, and in the end he fled! like a goat! why people continue to praise him is absolutely beyond me! He lead people to thier death traps!
Unfortunately Nigerians will always blindly follow ethnic loyalties instead of logical and analytical thinking and this is what is destroying the country
(example the he goat we call president).(the baboon we used to call president)
I do understand igbos thinking this man was a hero; but its the wrong thought, his legacies died way before he did, massacre and war continues in the country, Gowon had the last laugh and where are we today in terms of ethnic solidarity? People need to pull this ethnic cotton wool out of thier eyes and see plain sense!
God Bless you for this. Only if people can read and understand

You are one of the few that understand The baifra war. It was greed, and an arrogance filled war that caused 3 million lives to be lost.

Ojukwu should ask himself why he took the non-baifra igbo area along with baifra

He should also ask why he wanted to annex Lagos, ogun and Ondo to baifra

Why did he invade the mid-west and kill Millions of Itsekiri, Bini, Esan, Usan, Urhobo, etc unless he knew of the presence of the oil there.

Why did he not jut go with the Igbo speaking areas ?
^^^ You don't get it do you huh? Any problems we face as a people, the genesis can be traced to our being part of this fake collection of ethnicities that passes for a nation (NATION shocked? Abeg, gimme a break!!!). Our values as a people have been eroded by being part of a system that doesn't reward hard work/merit on the one hand, and doesn't punish criminal behaviour on the other.

You ask how my new nation would eradicate corruption? Simple really: by the time one or two thieving muthafuckers are made an example of, everyone else will fall in line. Merit and hardwork will be elevated, hence citizens will know that you can be successful in your own right, and that you don't have to work in/or know someone in government b/4 you can put food on your table.

Corruption can be eradicted by simply having the will to obey and implement laws; laws drafted by "we the people", and not those drafted by some conniving shifty characters that haven't got a clue what hardwork and honesty is even if it came up and slapped them in their lazy-a*ss faces.
I knew it. but why can't that be implemented in Nigeria ?

don't you think if that was not implemented in Nigeria, you think it would be implemented in Your new country ?

Is it not the same set of people and mind set that would be taken to your country ?

I mean do you see what I mean smiley

Hypocrisy is one deadly disease. Now you know that the problem in Nigeria has nothing to do with ethnicity. But you Alhaji Boko Haram is always the first to call the Igbos in every crime committed in Nigeria. Take it or leave it, Prof Aluko betrayed the late Ikemba who was even agitating for another Yoruba man (Ogundipe) to be at the helm of affairs. Sorry Ikemba, your detrabalised/open minded nature made you  loose the civil war. RIP.
Please and Please show me where I have ever pointed that out. Unless you are the hypocrite here. In fact I have always said crime is not known to any ethnic group. Please go read my post before u lie against my person. I have never pointed any crime against Igbos unless I am in a silly e-war with mekusxx aka Nchara.

If u read carefully, u will notice that the reporter sensed betrayal when he(reporter) asked prof sam if he(sam) told gowon what ojukwu told him(sam). U will notice it was after the question he said he took permision from ojujwu to betray him(ojukwu). Prof sam has told his own story, i also heard a story from a writer saying that it was ojukwu that released awo whom was jailed by the north people, and that the coup plot was to install him because the west had no freedom at all, infact awo was jailed because he wanted to cough fowl play. Now, almost all the people involved are dead, whom shall we ask for confirmation? Remember that the north rulled, and the igbos followed, but west was in the opposition crying fowl, now tell me that the west had no hand in the coup. I have said it and i will keep saying it, the yorubas are sabotage and cowards, awolowo said the west was afraid of the north, but they could not do anything to correct their maginalization hence gowon kicked out the yoruba officer that was surpose to be head of state by right of rank. Ndi ara.
I think you are drunk, who are the ndi ara ?

I rather see things from an objective point of view than support even My own.

I think you should do the same. There is no gain in support even your own ethnic group when the whole corrupt system is independent of ethnicity.

Now we have certain elements in our political roam that have kept us under locks by pointing out ethnic groups and wiping up sentiments against them for there OWN purpose to power.

I was never a tribalist an I feel ashame for some of the things I have posted but heck Nchara MUST GO DOWN grin
