^^^^^^^ The reason is given You talk of chopping off the Oxygen supply of those the benefit from the so called fake "subsidy". How would that be done if the system is corrupt at the first place. What makes you think they would not find another route. Ok here is another route of which these so called subsidy thieves would benefit - Gej removes the subsidy and speaks of buiding 4 refinaries - cost of production of fuel is 20 Naira per liter but the cost the government sell it is 145 Niara per litre - 2 Years down the line, GEJ would talk of privating the NEW REFINARIES - He sells it to his friends WHO WERE THE SUBSIDY THIEVES AT THE FIRST PLACE. WHO IS THE LOSER ? This is just one case study, I am such there are even more advance methods of milking the people. |
Beaf:Beaf Beaf Beaf oo !! How many times did i call ur moniker. HAVE A CONSCIENCE and stop being insensitive. manny4life:Well I really hope he does know what he is doing as well. To me and I think to other millions of Nigerian, we just think he wants to make life harder for us while Iweala and him PLAY the western Plans for Nigeria. Moreover, I don't think there would be much competition as you suggested for the price to go down. I remember when OBJ did this deregulation thing at 85 Naira, the prices fluctuated between 82 or so to 86 at different filling stations. Not much effect when compared to the inflation that followed. |
manny4life:LOL well sorry to break it down for you bros but that is NOT his plan Him and Iweala's plans are as clear as day. Remove the subsidy so that the FG would spend less and the extra savings can he kept for themselves and friend . This I think is his plan. |
arsenefc:i actually do understand and speak it. not that good though still learning more |
arsenefc:my O my fstranger oooo nno kill me |
Areosapien:congratu what!!!!!! I am SAD that ACN won all seats I rather vote PDP or APGA instead of ACN It was rigged No internal democracy Impostion of candidates There is NO WAY ACN COULD HAVE WON ETI OSA AND IKORODU NO WAY!!!! |
Eko Ile:Oh sharrapt dia Like it does not happen in Lagos Or did Lagos not ban Okada after a certain time ? Hypocrite |
igbo boy:Very correct sir, Biko bros no beg o this I already know ![]() Actually, the quoted the site I got that from ![]() anioma is a collection of clans together to be called anioma during the separation from the west in 1950 or so |
^^you'll have to spell it out for me if you dont mind. owo is in ondo state. Is there another one in ogun? ![]() owo in olden times was one of the regional slave trading centers- not sure if this is the connection you're referring to?
sorry I meant Owu people of the egba the connection i meant was this HISTORY OF THE YORUBAS the common saying, " Egba ko I'olu, gbogbo nwon ni nse hi Oba " (Egbas have no King, they are all of them like masters) although the egbas have kings now . not too sure |
^^not aware of this ogoga title. what's the pronounciation? ![]() there seems to be two kings in ikere- an olukere [of ife origin] and the ogoga [who seems to have migrated from benin]. Got this from a quick search. never heard of this conflict before. as per the ogoga/ogaga meaning- that's entirely possible. we also have juba in yoruba which means worship or respect, and juba happens to be the name of a roman emperor of african origin. so, there's really a lot that needs to be looked into by informed minds with the right training and experience. owo, for example, can mean respect or honour in yoruba but it's also the name of a town.
Strange isn't it ![]() I was also reading history of yorubas by rev samuel Johnson and to my greatest surprise I actually found a connection between Owu people of the egba clan and the present day Igbos (Btw Obj is an Owu man in egba) I don't know if u noticed it as well ? |
Ogaga or Ogoga actually means king in Ekiti yoruba dialect In urhobo it means Power Hmm for example Ogaga or Ogoga of Ikere http://www.britishmuseum.org/explore/highlights/highlight_objects/aoa/p/pair_of_door_panels_and_a_lint.aspx |
omo oodua is the correct term. anago, eku, etc were all used to describe yorubas in diaspora- particularly yorubas who were enslaved overseas. yoruba was used by the hausa for the people to their south [west]. i'm not sure oyos themselves went by that term. To the best of my knowledge, they simply called themselves oyo.
also what is the meaning of ogaga in yoruba in terms of name ? |
aribisala's focus is more towards the east. his analysis on this thread is geared that way as well. yoruba, just like lukunmi, anago and eku/aku, are words used by outsiders to describe southwesterners in ancient times. on a side note, some yorubas try to call themselves oodua which technically also isnt quite correct. Omo oodua is more accurate.
I think Ooduan is more correct than Omo odudua. Not all yorubas are children of odudua. Oduduan is more of a coolective term to acknowlege him in yoruba history. Also I actually found out that the term Anago was actually awori descriptive name I am not too sure while Yoruba was from Oyo. Also what did the benins call the the ife people ? Today, the Yewa people are mainly located on the Western part of Ogun State of Nigeria. They comprise the Ketu, the Sabe, the Ije (Ohori),Ifonyin, Anago, Eyo and Ogu (Egun) On the Northern part of Yewaland is the Ketu sub-ethic group. Ketu towns of Ijoun, Ijaka, ljale, Egua, Igan Alade, Imeko, Owode-Ketu, Tata, llara and Idofa etc. were founded by emigrants from Ketu (founded by Alaketu and now in the Republic of Benin). South of he Ketu are the Ije (Ohori) located in Oja-Odan, Obele, Ohunbe, Ibeku and lsale. Further to the South of the Ohoriare the Ifonyin whose main kingdoms are Ikolaje, llashe and Ifonyintedo. To the Eastern part of Ketu, Ohori and Ifonyin are the sub groups originally referred as Egbado. These include the people of llaro, Ibara, Ilewo, Ilogun, Imala-Aiba, lIobi, Ibese, Igbogila, Imasai, lsaga, Igan Okoto, Joga, Ayetoro, Idofoyi, Tibo, Keesan, Oke-Odan, Erinja and Ajilete, among others. South of the Egbado are the Awori who settled in towns such as Ota, Ado-Odo and Igbesa. West of the Awori are the Anago interspersed by the Eyo who settled in Ipokia, Agosasa, Ijofin, Ibatefin and Ihunbo. To the south of the Awori and Anago are the Ogu (Egun) largely concentrated in and around Badagry. The Egun have intermarried with the Aworis, Anagos and Egbado and their main settlements are Tube and Maun. http://yewaunionlagos.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=47:history-of-yewa&catid=29:history&Itemid=28 also this http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=MhOJheUc4pkC&pg=PA237&lpg=PA237&dq=awori+anago&source=bl&ots=EisSA-eYXX&sig=wAyL-KGdcstCZqTUH2fmt12x4R4&hl=en&ei=F6OlTqz-Mcyo8QPi0p3UBQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBsQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false |
You and your generations are ret'ards.Who fu-cking care about what you feel.simple question was asked and you are tripping here;vomitting rubbish.Like i said earlier,if you can't answer the question, why not fu-ck off !
Eko Ile:Typical. That was why I related Bluetooth to you eko ile. Now read and read carefully. You 2 portray Yorubas to be tribalistic of which they are not. LEAVE THE IGBOS ALONE AND LET THEM BE. If they believe Ojukwu was a hero and insult Awolowo, then so be it. How does this affect you two ? Ojukwu being a brave icon or not has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with yorubas or in fact Nigeria. You 2 have dragged the Yorubas so low that they are been portrayed as arrogant people which engage in NON-PRODUCTIVE DISCUSSIONS ON THIS SITE which is not the case. WHEN LAST HAVE YOU PEOPLE BEEN TO LAGOS, ABUJA, PORT HARCOURT OR WARRI ? When last have you people been to the SW ? Yorubas don't engage in mindless babbles such as this you are portraying them to be. If Ojukwu or Gaddiffi were brave or not, it has nothing to do with Nigeria because they both were not Nigerians. FULL STOP |
1stCitizen:LOL true talk na. So are calling u ofe mmanu aka Yoruba already even after u said u were ijaw. Others are calling u alj harem. |
rhymz:LOL see frustration brother. calm down brotherHow was ur day ? ![]() |
Ghadaffi vs Oju iku. . .who's the real man ? Answer it or fu-ck off !
LOL typical ideeiot just like Eko ile Answering such question would be seen as an ethnically biased answer and as such would be generate strong views from those that see him as a hero. You see, you have to respect people leaders if you want yours to be respected. Already, the thread has degenerated from who is the real man to yoruba vs igbo or igbo vs ijaw. Now the question is how would this answer improve creativity or improve your thinking ? |
noiseless:Hey stop this ur attack on me. Philip emeaguali an Onitsha man suggested this. I am not saying or insinuating that it is a yorubaland or what ever. In fact we should be glad that we have a common ground for our unity. It has nothing to do with Igboland or yoruba land |
Pukkah:Yes ooooo tell them as it is |
