Has any Nigerian benefited from the Youwin scheme GEJ spent 50 Billion Naira on ?

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-779846.0.html

If yes, then please provide us with proof, I mean tell us the details

If No, then why would any sense Nigerian want subsidy to be removed thinking that the FG would provide more infrastructures fro Nigerians with the extra savings

So a name like Igbokwe should be rightly translated as "If the World concurs". Igboezuo or Igboezue means "the assembly of the (whole) world/universe.

I hope this helps.
hmmm sorry I just want to understand something here

So in Igbo Language, The word "Igbo" means "World" or "Universe" ?

Just want to be sure before I discuss about it. Thanks

It is actually, When last have you been to ogun or edge of lagos ?

people don't leave in lagos again to work in lagos

Majority of the people live in OYO OR OGUN and work in lagos

In fact house prices in Oyo and ogun is third to abuja and lagos/port harcourt city.

A house rent for 600,000 Niara in Lagos/year is not 400,000 in Ibadan per year

Signor Zax:
I kept wondering What? Why? Which? When? How & Where? The name 'Dabiri' came to be associated with the Yorubas?
I'm an Ijaw guy that understands the Yoruba language perfectly.
Dabiri is an Ijaw name through and true.
Da - Father
Biri - land, side, middle, centre, stomach or half (depending on the context in which it is used)
Therefore, Dabiri should mean: Father's Land, Father's Side, Father's Stomach, Father's Centre or Father's half depending on the context of use. But most often, it is used to mean Father's House in my native Ijaw language.
As for the Dabiris found in Ikorodu LGA of Lagos State, I'm 100% sure that they are settled by the river bank or waterside, which most likely depicts that they are of Ijaw origin that went fishing around the water.
You can check with anyone WHO KNOWS THEIR HISTORY VERY WELL. I know what I am saying.
LOL grin grin grin grin just like awori is awomire water loving people abi !! grin grin grin

Torch1:
if the name "Dabiri" in Yoruba region is from Arab as you said, then what is the meaning in Arabic language?? If the meaning is the same that means it is not a Yoruba name but Arab name as we have Suleiman, Ibrahim, etc.
Yeap, it has a meaning in Iranian language and also in yoruba

they have different meaning as I said before,

Igbo, yoruba iran, ijaw etc have dabiri but it means different things in different langauge smiley

It was shown on NTA Newsline then cool
I remember as well

well that is what happens when you claim,

Like every culture in Nigeria, we share similar names among others

in fact I just found out that Ikeja is an Igbo name

Ikeja is also a yoruba name. so you see the similarity

Abike is a Nupe name

it also a yoruba and edo name

Lets put things into their proper perspective

There seems to be different forms of Lukumis;

Olukumi in an Edoid context

Lukumí from a  Yorubic Afro-Cuban (sic) perspective
Olukumi is not in edo context because Olu has no meaning in edo (not sure)

Lukumi is a corrupt form of Olukumi

I strongly doubt the veracity of the meaning your provided. Any links?

I use to believe the name has ijaw roots as a result of the suffix 'biri'.

There was a story of a man from rivers who trace Abike Dabiri to Lagos when she was still working with NTA to claim her as his long lost niece. Unfortunately, Abike denied him.
why wouldn't abike deny him  undecided

I have told you the meaning in yoruba, It might mean another in Igbo or Ijaw or whatever

That is the meaning in Yoruba

dabiri in ijaw means fathers side

dabiri in igbo mean lean on

Dabiri in yoruba mean the founder of a settlement

it each is own.

There is no correlation between Dabiri of the yorubas and edos and dabiri of the igbo or the ijaws

Dabiri, tinubu, obanikoro, ajose, williams etc all this are awori names

Present the linquistic  relationship through to our Ministry of Education. . .  Friendly advice, the notion that Olukumi brings up isnt that old and at the same time it   isnt something many  havent heard of before; we are aware of the Lukumi people and as the language relates to its Yoruba connection.

Its simply indeed . . .  We needs official clarification

What is the meaning of Dabiri?
Which part of Yorubaland is this name from or most common?
Is it not Yoruba?
Dabiri "Dabiri"(Da-bi-ri/Da-ibi-ri)  means "first to discover a place and settle in" in yorubaland. It was from the arabs the yoruba got the name from just like many other yoruba names like Haruna (fulani) sekiru etc

Dabiri is more or less used among the indigenes of lagos, they are used among the Aworis, Egun and Ijebus. Most other part of yoruba land do not use it.

You can ask more dabiris here

Abagworo:
Dabiri has most likely Igbo or Ijaw roots.I will like to know the Yoruba meaning. In Igbo it means "lean on" or "trust".Dabiri,Dabirim,Dabirichi,Dabirinna,Dabirichukwu.It is a rear surname but exists in Igboland.I have also met someone from Bayelsa that goes by that name.If it has no Yoruba meaning then they likely have Igbo or Ijaw roots.
Interesting, Dabiri is an arab name but has a meaning in yoruba, meaning first to settle in

My brother, hmmm sorry I don't really understand what you are saying smiley

But if i am correct, You are talking of the olukumi representation in yoruba and what they stand for this modern day.

Well, Right now I think the Olukumi are now anioma Ibos and as such can not really have representation to present day yoruba people. Majority of them bare names like Emeka and co

What they stand for these days is mainly the FG presence in Ugbodu town. according to the facebook forum discussion among them, They don't really care about there culture now. They are more of less looking for the development of there region. smiley

This thread is about realisation, but you utterly lack it.
Do you know what a fungal infection is ? Don't talk like you are unintelligent I expect more from you.

Now listen and listen good !

The reality is that Nairaland has affect ME TOO so what is all this fungal infection you are talking about.

Silly Nairaland Ibo people talk of killing yorubas and in lagos making them a minority, they say all sort of things about yorubas being dirty, lazy, tribalistic etc. Do you expect me to just be looking at them even after 3 years hoping the same posters would change ?

All of them have probably schooled in Lagos, interact with my people then come on the internet to call us dirty.

Ask yourself this, why would I CLAIM TO LOVE IBOS THEN BRING OUR THREAD TO PORTRAY THEM BAD.
I throw that question to you beaf
Be truthful to yourself.

Some even take up yoruba and Northern Monikers just for the purpose to insult The ethnic group called yorubas. Why would one be that evil ?

Others Igbos insulting yorubas, HAVE THEY THOUGHT OF THE DAMAGE IT HAS DONE TO US. Not to talk of me an Awori man that interact with Ibos on a daily bases.

Don't come here to judge alj harem ok !

I am Awori and I have interacted with different ethnic groups migrating to my fore fathers land and I accept it only to come on the Internet of ingrates Ibo talking of killing.

Now either you respond truthfully or just ignore this post.

In the developed World, people like you are actually sent to jail for their online behaviour. I see that happening too in Nigeria, its just a matter of time before someone takes legal action on something said online, it might not be on NL, but it will open eyes and focus minds.

The way a person behaves online or anywhere for that matter, says something about their real life psyche and morality. Most vile people online are either vile in the real World, or are total cowards who take advantage of anonimity; either way, they are scum.
1. Why would I be jailed for bring out an article ? I have not incited any hate chant or whatever

I know u have no explanation. Let me tell you if I evicted that debtor tenant. Who do you think would be source of that measure? Me or people like u. My job has taken me to rwanda and sierra leone. In kigali my cab driver told me stories about how a radio station religously devoted itself to spreading hate broadcasts and when the time was ripe all it took was the death of their president and hell was let loose. If you don't know ASK! Unlike the people on the list who are superficially brash, you are deeply insidious and dark in your motives. I really pity u
Well sorry if I have deeply cut to ur heart, truly I am because i am not a tribalist and I do not relate to people outside the way U perceive me to be.

This forum is not to be taken serious.I travel a lot. Thus I have interacted to people from various ethic group in Nigeria. I have very close friend of Igbo origin

What happened on this site is nothing to write home about. When you rubbish or talk bad of my people, for years, Do you expect me to be looking at you ? NO

WHAT happened on this site is what I call

CAUSE AND EFFECT !!

I started reading Nairaland since 2006, and I have watch the Igbos on the forum insult and talk rubbish, then 2010 the yorubas retaliated which I join in. heck it serves Nl Igbos right.

We have IDEEIOOT like Ezeuche aka PointB now and Mekkuusssxx etc Nchara, Akin-egba babalola. Ask them why they have been inciting hate against Hausa and Yorubas ?

Read Ileke Idi's post back then, SHE WAS NOT A TRIBALIST, until ideeiot like the ones mentioned above

Read Jason's post, I followed his post when he joined and how those Ideeiot turn him around

Read Step1's post, that is my personality and I am not tribal at all.

Currently as I even type, PointB chyz101 etc are still doing the samething I am complaining about. DO you expect others to keep quiet ?

READ

Republic report

sun newspaper
Odili news

Modern ghana etc this are news agencies owned by Igbos, you need to read the hate they type about yorubas YOU WOULD CRY. for real. Infact they have demonise Hausas now.

In fact ever since I joined, ezeuche and mekkuxx that open tribalistic thread every other week reduced it because of the fear of what I might open to counter there claims.

Nchara a professional blogger engaging in tribalism against yorubas

Afam4eve before becoming a mod, doing the same (Thank God he is changed)

etc What of Ander Uweh.

I read Igbo forums a lot and I talk to them of facebook so they can see my face, so I know there true feelings.

Again I have no explanation other than

CAUSE AND EFFECT. Wish you the best
