Some RETARDS that sold their conscience to VOTE for Jonathan, suddenly want everyone to share in their mess, for all I care, no TRIBE in Nigeria can talk TRASH about Igbos, Igbos had mind of their own long before the white man came to RESCUE the rest of the MORONS from their KINGS, OBA's, Emirs , etc, When other tribes a re busy postrate for a white man, ABA, WOMEN were the FIRST & ever to challenge the white man's POLICIES thru riot " ABA WOMEN RIOT,1929". Igbos are REPUBLICAN in NATURE & nobody will change them. FYI, some people BETRAYED the Igbos during the CIVIL WAR, they were policy makers, ministers & all worth not, against the Igbo's, After the war, Igbo's learnt the lesson ONE TRIBE THOUGHT THEM, on how to play the SPOILER. Somebody was an active SPOILER/ SELLOUT/ TRAITOR/ money lover etc, for Gowon. Igbo's will not rule Nigeria, but Igbo's ( Ngozi Iweala )will alwz make policies that you all will SUFFER & SUFFER from. My point is, your TRIBE will rule, but your tribe will still be WORSE off. When the time comes, we'll count SCORES. Your tribe is not buying fuel @ 65 & SE is buying @ 200. You ruled Nigeria, yet you are on 24/7 darkness with the Igbos that did not rule, that goes to show you that something is wrong somewhere. Until JUSTICE prevails, Y'all will forever be in PAIN & ANGUISH. It's nature, not MAN.

@Alj_Harem, yea, you all should protest and reap the benefit of your protest when Govt. reverse to the old price in all the regions, except SE. Typical of Nigerians, they will will not focus on PROTEST & SUBSIDY Issues, they will been pointing a ROTTEN finger on the wrong side, whoever is in POWER WILL ALWZ have someone to do the dirty job, D-banj, sold out & supported Jonathan, Olu Jacobs, Wole Soyinka, sold out by serving in IBB's govt, Alex Akinyele, was once IBB's MIS-information minister, who did the dirty job for the Hausa/fulani against Awolowo in the 60's? Arisekola, supported Abacha, cos of what? (OWO ), Adedibu, alwz do the dirty job for AGIP, bOLA iGE, betrayed NADECO by joining the PDP, govt. Obasanjo did the Norherners BID numerous times, should I GO ON? My guy they are in EVERY TRIBE. So, big up!!!
My brother, we are saying the samething. That is why I am wondering why some nairalanders are making it a yoruba/hausa/fulani afire when WE ALL WOULD BE PAR-TAKERS OF THIS REMOVAL.

Yes I know they are in every tribe, I am not trying to exclude the SE but goons on Nairaland are doing it themselves.

We were here when Sanusi (my main man) supported the removal cry I was shocked

so it has nothing to do with ethnicity but beaf, dmainboss, ejire, pointb etc are saying South-east should not join in the protest and no igbo should join etc. Thus they tribalsied it themselves.

Bros, Igbos are not cheap. This is the time to act that you have a mind of ur own and cannot be brought over any how. It has nothing to do with ethnicity but the untold hardship to come.

Pure water in Akoka not is 20 Naira from 5 naira.

Let me remind the goons of NL (beaf = pointB, ejine and the rest) that those of us protesting in Lagos are not just Yorubas, we have Ibos. Ijaws and Hausas who are tired of the inhumane treatment given to us by the spineless oaf in Aso rock, who yanked the rug of subsidy from under our feet without giving us a chance to adjust our budgets. I am very sure you do not believe the nonsense you spew here except you are entirely devoid of conscience.

People will stand up for their rights no matter their religious or tribal affiliations, Hon. Dino Melayo is not a westerner neither is he a Northerner, @omojuwa and @egghead are examples of SS brodas standing up against tyranny, wake up beaf b4 what happened to Ghaddafi becomes child's play compared to what is coming to you and your useless boss.

I'm Igbo and proud to be Igbo.  I really wonder why many of my kinsmen take pleasure in doing the hangman's job.  In 1993 it was ABN led by Arthur Nzeribe while Chukwumerije was the minister of 'mis'information. In 1996, it was late Kalu of YEAAA and now another Igbo man.  No wonder other parts of Nigeria see ndigbo as greedy no principled people.  It is pathetic.  This fight against fuel subsidy removal will definitely be won by we the masses of Nigeria.  The likes of what is that his name again, Uche? will bury their heads in shame.  Vox populi Vox Dei.
Nwannem I understand and believe when I tell you it is not doing Igbos any favour or what so ever

There is protest in

SW- Lagos, Oyo, Ogun

NW- kano, Sokoto

NE- Adamawa

NC- Kwara, Abuja, Nasarawa, beune, Kogi

SS- Rivers, Benin-city(edo) and bayelsa

SE- huh huh huh huh Infact they support it. I don't understand

It seems that SE politicians are enemy of progress and are not part of NLC (NIGERIA LABOUR CONGRESS)

This move would greatly affect any presidential ambition for the SE 2015. FACT !!!!

My brother, my advice for you is to live that SE region and travel to SS or SE or North to safe ur self from the hardship to come
PoliticsDo Not Tribalise Protest Against Fuel Subsidy by aljharem3(op): 4:03pm On Jan 03, 2012
I have seen people mostly for the South-eastern region trying to tribalise a sensitive issue such as the protest against fuel subsidy. They view it as an attempt by the South-west, North-west, North central, North east, and South-South to remove GEJ out of office.

I would like to urge my fellow Nigerians most especially the Igbos to NOT TRIBALISE this issue. I have seen South-Southers from delta , edo, bayelsa, rivers and cross river protesting against fuel subsidy. Why are my Igbo brothers and sisters in the South-east quite about it and even worse trying to call it a hausa/fulani/yoruba protest.

We all are one people and fuel price at 141 Naira would affect everyone regardless of zones or ethnicity. Please and Please, lets live the past behind us and do the right thing. GEJ does not represent any ethnic group but his own people who are the cabals milking Nigeria dry till this very day.

Lets not de destroy the country further because of ethnocentric reasons best know to you people.

If there isd no subsidy then why are Ʊ protesting?

The SE\SS won't protest cos fuel has neva been subsidied in those areas they buy fuel 150 per litre when there was subsidy, So it makes no diff to them
WE ARE PROTESTING BECAUSE OF THE INCREMENT OF FUEL SINCE THERE IS NO SUBSIDY. THUS WHERE WOULD THE EXTRA MONEY FROM THE INCREMENT GO ? WHAT IS IT MEANT FOR ? AND WHY.

SE/SS are also affected by the hardship and are complaining. People should stop making baseless assertions, the SE/SS are as well assessing the situation on ground and are as well going to come out with their own action but there has to be a clear purpose of what we hope to achieve. Is not by protesting and tearing down properties but by coordinated efforts. Events are still unfolding, let us not move faster than our shadows.
God bless you. Rhymz, at the end of the day we are all in the mess together. This is the point we should join hands and fight against a common enemy which is CORRUPTION because there is nothing like fuel subsidy. All this is just to milk us dry.

Beaf:
Thanks for clarifying our thoughts. Why do you think Yoruba and Fulani people should be the "owners of Nigeria?" Why would a sane person mock those who expressed otrage at boko haram murderous activities? Why would you hail boko harams stomach for blood as the tactic for kingship, and then mocking their victims?

You are deceiving yourself only with your forked tongue. But now we know what there is an ethnic agenda to the subsidy demonstrations as revealed by one who admires the murderous boko haram.
Hey why are you changing his words in the wrong context

these were his words

"must head in without consulting olodos like you. Why will your inferiority complex not lead you to believe I am talking about "Yoruba and fulani people"? What a fool !!! "
so why are you being such a bigot. Can you have a decent discussion for once without being tribalistic ?

Beaf, it shows your mentality about Nigerians.

You see, you are using propaganda to appear that you are for the people and I must admit I feel for it at one time in the past. I know your truth personality (at least on Nairaland) and how you have deceived our south-eastern brothers to think otherwise ( of course because they were insecure as well).

Well I give it up to you. You have done well, but know something that nothing is permanent.

@alh_haren, What makes the SS different from others is because it has been shown through genetic analysis that we are brothers. Go and make your own research.
Now I would prefer Niger-deltans apart from the tribalist such as yourself (no offence) Beaf and anyother South-easterner posing as a South-Southern not to speak on behalf of South-Southerners. You deplete them as unintelligent and less of a human being by speaking for them and dragging them into every discussion as if they have no mind on there own. Let me remain you that NO SOUTH-SOUTHERNER is A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN TO ANYONE MOST ESPECIALLY AN IGBO MAN. NO SOUTH-SOUTHERNER WOULD BE A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN IN BAIFRA OK.

Genetic analysis was actually carried out and it was found out that 5 groups in the SS are more closely related to the Yoruba/Nigerians than your so called group

These groups are as followed

Ijaw/Kalabari

Itsekiri

Bini/Edo

Urhobo/Isoko

You know what? Let Lagosians and Ogunites (the two states who've shown interest in protesting) carry on with the march tomorrow, and we Niger-Deltans promise to give you our utmost support. . . Errr. . . From behind our TV sets, that is. grin

Right, Beaf? grin grin cool[/quote]Well I am a realist as well so we are not too different ( if I may say). Yes you brought up the issue of the region you are from and all I did was to point out to you that I am also from the SS and from the dominate group in the SS.

Yes now we can discuss.

I can't recall Ogun planning a protest. I would not mind if you can provide a source for your claim. Yes Lagos there would be protest and it comprises of all groups from all regions. You see, the way you construct your words makes you a tribalist. I would like to pose this question to you. Who are the Niger-deltans ? Are they not Nigerians ? If yes then I believe they would protest as well.

Now I would prefer Niger-deltans apart from the tribalist such as yourself (no offence) Beaf and anyother South-easterner posing as a South-Southern not to speak on behalf of South-Southerners. Nemeziz9ja:
Its because of posts like this and comments from die-hard "subsidy" removal supporters that I always stay away from commenting on Nairaland but prefer to read from the sidelines, shake my head and wonder when we will be able to make a distinction between literate and educated Nigerians. Most of the commentators here are from privileged background and benefit from the rot in the system that has made an average working Nigerian a disenfranchised entity in their own land. For those that are touting removal of Fuel subsidy as the panacea to our economic problems; I have some questions and will appreciate responsible answers -
* Is it only crude oil that is the natural resource we have in this country to generate foreign exchange?
* Since the '80s when the man from Minna started removing subsidy by SAPPING us with MAMSER and giving BETTER LIFE to their cronies, what have they done with the windfall in terms of sound economic policies?
* What exactly is the subsidy if the Federal Government that benefits from the activities of the "NNPC" could not utilize the income earned over the past 25+ years constructively such that an average Nigerian has to run generator for at least 6 hours in a working day? The minimum wage has not increased in almost 10 years even though the same set of politicians making noise about the economy are the same set of people running the economy aground with unrealistic emoluments?
I find it very sad that Nigerians in the diaspora that claim to be technocrats are not better than Nigerians trying to survive in the system at home in terms of avarice and lack of integrity. There is no amount of grammar that Okonjo-Iweala will speak to make me change my mind about their league. For starters, if she had really wanted to make a difference, she should have returned to UI after her graduate study in the US and lecture like her Dad and show that she understands what it means to live and survive in Nigeria but people coming home after living a padded life in the US to come and take appointment as minister during Obasanjo regime where they supposedly paid up Nigeria's debt and lined their own pocket with huge consultancy fees are just political jobbers. Now, she is here again and the problem is we need to remove subsidy to do the things that my tax should have been used for in the first place.
Bravo to GEJ and his team for succeeding with the fuel hike using subsidy removal as a front. Now, more oil blocs will be allocated to their fronts and cronies, more crude exporting will be done and at the end of it all, we will still have them come to us in a few years with promise to repair the roads, build healthcare facilities, farm more lands and so on without a single refinery working.
I have always said we Nigerians have irresponsible leaders but totally useless and undependable followership. The unfortunate reality of this is that we live in denial and compensate with self-preservation and superficial religiosity while waiting for our statuses to change from "followership" to "leadership" and we then continue the venal cycle. So Sad.
