mosaic2:How do you know this? Nobody can know for sure? So, you have to BELIEVE in this, just as you believe in God. The whole thing is self sustaining. mosaic2:Who says they didnt? |
I'm building a motorized skateboard and after choosing a 500W electric motor, I needed batteries to power it. Cross comparing Lead Acid, NiMh, and NiCd showed that NiMh would get me the best bang for my buck. So, I ordered batteries (to build a pack) and realized I'll need a charger if I wanted to properly maintain my batteries. So, here steps in batteryspace. The charger is simple and easy to use. I just connect up the batteries (initially using the alligator clamps that were provided - later I will make a tamiya connector) and attached the temperature probe. At this point, patience is required. The charger will go through some startup thing where the lights flash, however, it will not attempt to charge your batteries until it detects that 20 cells are connected. I didn't realize this and so I was frustrated when it "seemed" like the charger was doing nothing. This charger is a life saver. I've blown a battery pack before because it overheated when charging, melted the insulation between the wires and shorted battery terminals to each other. For any homebrew electronics enthusiasts who make their own packs, this is a must have. 1) Smart Charger feature - Detects when battery is fully charged, kinda hard to do that with a power supply 2) Two current switch - useful if you need to charge the battery or maintain (trickle charge) it. 3) Fuse protection - if something bad happens with the charger, your batteries are protected or vice versa. 4) Standard tamiya connector - easily connect to many battery packs or electric scooter motor controllers. Also, tamiya connectors are polarized, making it hard for you to accidentally connect your battery incorrectly, which brings up the fact that the charger can sense incorrectly connected batteries. So, those are the good, now about the bad: 1) The instructions are very simple and its been only recently that the website has been updated to give more details on its use. So, based only on the instructions that ship with the charger, one could get frustrated and think the charger does not work. 2) Well, I know that this is a 0.6A/1.2A charger, however, 2A charging capability is not too much to ask for. Most 24V battery packs are 8-12Ah and so can sustain higher charging rates. Interactions with Batteryspace staff 1) So, I initially thought something was wrong and requested an RMA. However, I didn't recieve a response for about a week. After calling the customer service number was I directed on how to return the charger. 2) The charger was returned to me without any information about what was done with it or any more information about the problem I was having. As a result, it was up to me to figure out what was the actual problem. Overall: This is a decent charger and nicely priced (especially for a NiMh one). It has features typical of most smart chargers which are neccessary when dealing with batteries with capacities of 24V 10Ah. That's 240W which is pretty dangerous if you were to accidentally short terminals together or misconnect them. It would be nice to have more detailed instructions which indicate what the user should expect to happen when using it, perhaps a copy of the current batteryspace website dedicated to the product should replace the current instructions. |
donnie:This doesn't make sense. So because I refuse to believe that miracles occurred and someone was healed when NOBODY who has been healed will come forward and say submit themselves for examination by independent scientists/doctors, I look like i'm not searching for truth or facts. Or is it because I'm not telling you that I'm actively going to search. In fact, I don't see why I should have to look any further. So far, nobody has given me any concrete evidence to support their claim that someone was healed miraculously. I'm not going to waste my time fact-checking everything people feel like they want to say. If you want to convince me, then do it with real evidence. Why are your words not enough, because you could be making it up. We don't swear to tell the truth when we join this forum. Telling the truth is not part of the forum rules. Even if it was or we did, nobody can compel you to do so over the internet. So you see, when someone comes to me with fantastic stories of people being healed left and right and not ONE single concrete shred of evidence, I tend to discount it. . .just like i don't listen to people who tell me the government is hiding the truth about aliens. |
There is something disingenuous about saying that the forum would be dry if we all used proper english. Assuming everyone here can speak and write proper english if motivated, the primary reason for using anything else would have some societal context. |
nicetohave:It is impossible for God to have any attributes we can describe other than with words which mean - this is so great we cannot possibly ever comprehend it. Everyone knows what being merciful is. People can be said to be merciful. Why can't I demonstrate the fruits of the spirit? That doesn't make sense. Now, as far as babies going to hell, well, the bible says that all are BORN in sin and shaped in iniquity. - This means, as soon as you are born, you are a sinner. - Only sinners who repent and accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior can (does not neccessarily mean they will) goto heaven. - This means babies that die before making this decision are going to hell. Is there something YOU are misunderstanding? |
yemstrad:What is morally wrong about it? What is the moral foundation or issue which makes this wrong? |
bernieman:so before a guy can be seen with a girl, he must pay for her. And how much do these people cost? |
women are partly to blame too. they participate in these premarital affairs and some see nothing wrong with divorcing some person from their family. |
Karine:Merciful? Can we really say things like God is good, merciful, kind, etc? Aren't we ascribing human emotions to God. Isn't God so beyond our capabality to understand. And if we must say God is merciful and kind, then why do babies that die without ever turning away from their sin and accepting their lord and savior jesus christ immediately goto hell? |
why do people continue to fall for 419 scams? I suppose ultimately, it means people are gullible, or we can look at it this way, someone is taking advantage of their hope against all hope. Just like the 419er searches for the one person who would actually believe this is their once in a lifetime chance to make money and they are the lucky person not being scammed, so do many people who flock to some preacher or another. |
GOD is nature.. Heaven and Hell is a state of mind.. think about the most happiest moment of your life when things are going great you have money your at peace with your thinking pattern you happy that is the Heaven part of life.. Think of the bad times when your not content, sad you have all these negative thoughts in your head. you can not get rid of that thinking pattern... that is the Hell part, that burning in fire hot wata ect what ever you want to call it.... The devil is the negative part or the human and the positive is the good side of human.. God is the force that keep things going.. we are all sparks of ?GOD don't be afraid to tell yourself that... that is not to say you don't believe in yourself or something great.. if we can open our mind and not limit yourself to what men right we can be much smarter... Think about it
So I can change the words heaven, hell, and God in your post to be dark side, light side, and the force. And your post could be a speech being given to some jedi cadets. (this implicitly means that there are multiple interpretations of states of being, you didn't indicate anything which really separates you from a jedi). |
donnie:By the same token noone has come out to indicate that yes, they have indeed been cured. I would think there would be at least ten people out of the thousands who if they were truely cured, would be willing to come out, have their medical records examined, and shown to be a true recipient of a miracle. If I had been blind, all my doctors telling me I'd never see, and I was cured, and I keep hearing about people doubting the miracles of christ, I know I wouldn't stay mute. So, where are these people? I can understand a fraudster wanting to stay in hiding. |
@ naijadiva, i'm don't think mikun quite meant it that way. Elizabeth:If all men are untrustworthy, who exactly are you marrying? If you are marrying nobody, then this wouldn't apply to you. I would hope people don't decide to marry someone they feel is untrustworthy. |
one may say that the parents have nothing to do with it. . . nothing could be further than the truth. Parents are one of the major influences on a person's life. Parents (those who are or plan on being one probably would agree with this) don't wait until their child is doing something they don't like to start working to dissuade their children of those options. It starts early. If someone doesn't want their children marrying into some family, they don't wait until their kid is 25 and is dating someone from their, when their kid is three - "child, family X is a bad family, nothing good comes from there." Kid is 5, "child, you deserve someone of your stature, nobody from a lower social class can truely understand you". Etc. So, if you work diligently and situations work in your favor, you can help ensure your kid will never think about marrying whichever group you may not like. |
mosaic2:If the bible was written by man, then they could be making up parts of it. It is easy to make things consistent. If you have copy of the bible up to Leviticus, and you are writing Numbers, you just read all of the previous stuff and make sure you don't contradict anything that is aleady there. How do you think people write book series where there are hundreds of books in the series? mosaic2:See, that is the problem, faith. What is the definition of faith, a belief in something you cannot prove. A belief in something for which nobody can verify its existence. If I must believe God exists by FAITH, then shouldn't I be able to believe in anything else by FAITH too? Why is it that God has a monopoly on faith? There is no textbook definiton of faith which says it can only be used for God. Further more, if the only way I can know that God exists is by having faith, wouldn't that mean that for a vast number of people, God doesn't exist. If he only exists for people that believe in him, wouldn't that relegate God to being something like the aliens that supposed crashlanded on earth in Roswell, New Mexico (USA)? There are groups of people who are convinced it happened, the rest of the world asks for proof, and they cannot come up with anything other than "the government is hiding the truth". |
I claim this monister in the name of God. |
Majority of guys totally feel as if, hmmm "what's left?" Ive done the BABA, the main thing!.
So, then what exactly is left? If all women are good for is that one time in bed why should the guy look forward to anything else? Obviously, there must be more or we wouldn't even be having this conversation. |
felucci:The catholic church was not founded by Jesus. I don't remember anything about Jesus instituting someone to be a pope. Jesus didn't even claim himself to be God's voice on earth. Don't know how exactly a human being decided they could make that claim. While history seems to indicate that Peter was the first pope, that doesn't make sense given that it was never mentioned in the bible. Peter though was seen as a leader of the early church, so if what is meant is that what we now recognize as pope started with a tradition of having groups of men act as supreme leaders of the church / defenders of the faith, etc, then I could understand. Undoubtedly, the catholic church was NOT founded by Jesus. To say that would be to also say all past, present, and future denominations of christianity were founded by Jesus. |
donnie:With $100, I could do that too. |
donnie:I'm seeking knowledge and information about the manifestations of God's miraculous powers in other peoples lives. So, I want to see a man who was born blind and gained sight. I want to see someone who was dead and buried who was brought back to life. I want to see someone who was born deaf being able to hear, etc. However, I have never seen it. Not only have I never seen it, but anyone who claimed to be the reciepient of such miracles seem to dissapear off the face of the earth by the time I get around to researching them. Or when others do the research, the doctors conviniently have lost all patient records or don't remember ever diagnosing the person with a condition. I am not being critical of God's works. I'm being critical of the FAKE works of human beings. Those are two different things. I am not doubting God's works, I'm doubting the FAKE works of human beings. Those are two different things. |
Rape is the act of forced penetration of any bodily orifice (vaginally, anally, or orally) or forced cunillingous, involving violation of the survivor's body and psychological person. The assault is accomplished by the use of force, the threat of force, or without force when the survivor is unable to physically or mentally give her or his consent. It is the destruction of a feeling of control over one's body, life, and the course of events. Rape is an experience of violation, degradation, and humiliation. It often infuses the survivors with the shock of their own vulnerability This means a man can rape a man, a man can rape a woman, a woman can rape a man and a woman can rape a woman. You don't need a penis to rape someone, any broom handle would do. |
prettyH:I think my arguments are convincing enough: 1) There is no law against it (human law) 2) There is no law against it (divine law based on the KJV of the Holy Bible) 3) There is nothing wrong with a widow remarrying 4) There is no incest involved 5) There is nothing wrong with an old adult marrying a young (or younger) adult So far, all I've seen is that because: a) the man was her father-in-law it is wrong. I'm sorry, but there are few things I could think of that are wrong because: "he's your father-in-law" but many which are wrong because : "its against the law" or "the bible says don't do it" or "it would be incest". |
mosaic2:Maybe we created ourselves. If time is circular, then by traveling far enough into the future, we'd end up in the past and thus could "create" ourselves. Or, we could just travel back in time and do the same thing. As for why we exist. . . well, if we never created ourselves, we wouldn't exists, so to exist, we created ourselves. . simple huh? If you have a hard time following that, answer: Why did God create us? I mean, if God is so awesome and powerful, why does he need crap like us to worship him or for him to play with. Wouldn't our lives be beyond God's interest. I mean, why would anything as power as God even care about us? It doesn't really make sense. mosaic2:And what happens when you ask and you get no reply? Or you die without getting one? Would that mean God didn't exist for you and so you would've been better off living like God didn't? mosaic2:So, if a negotiator convinces some maniac not to kill his 4 month old baby with a shotgun, it was really God? If so, why do we need negotiators in the first place? (Negotiator as in those who work for swat teams). A more general question is, why do we need any profession, money, jobs, etc? Couldn't God just feed us, clothe us, house us, etc? Wouldn't that be good by giving us everything we want/need? That way ppl don't have to resort to bad actions to satisfy their desires? |
cillalove:Unless the person is mentally retarded, I doubt a 48 year old would have the maturity of a 10 year old or vice versa. In any case, what is the maturity of a ten year old or a 48 year old. It may be easy to define how they are different, but what is the difference between the maturity of someone 29 years of age and 32 years of age? At some point, everyone is on the same level. |
