However, nowhere in the bible is anyone but God prayed to. There is no praying to Moses, Abraham, David, etc.

There is no praying to Mary in the bible as well.

Praying to a person is idolatry.

Spanking a child is negative feedback. It is a correction which causes them to modify their behavior towards what you want. Essentially, it is a means of controlling your child.

there can be plenty of reasons why a person would do that. They could be:

1) better at managing money
2) they won't get stressed out about paying bills and taxes
3) they make better investment decisions
4) they are better at enforcing they couple's rules when it comes to money
5) more reasons a person could think of

Well, this probably speaks to a problem with the people, not their jobs.

If they will fight someone just for a position at work, then even if they worked in different jobs, they would probably find something to fight about.

3) the most unfortunate part of it? to know the truth, you have to seek it, if you do not see any is your reason for not believing it, good for you but it is also because you did not seek it, your gain if that is the way you see it but the truth will not come looking for you, why don't you stay home and not enroll in a knowledge enriching institution, vis a viz, primary, seconday and tertiary institutions and expect to get educated?, mark my word, don't search for it, and you shall live in eternal and blissful ignorance.

I agree about people perishing for a lack of knowledge. There are plenty of ignorant people out there following every person who calls themselves a miracle worker. They don't know the truth, they don't even bother to attempt to discover the truth even though their so called miracle worker is right in their midst.

There is an easy way to prove things.

Example, in high school, I participated in an oratorical essay contest. I can scan my 1st place certificate, my certificate of attendance at the regional competition, bank statements indicating my receipt of the prize money (it shows who the money came from), newspaper clippings, and the organization's website still records my feat. I'm pretty sure they also have paper records so if necessary, I could get copies of those to prove it.

I can prove I'm a student of my university. I can have 15+ professors here ALL sign letters which say I've taken a class from them. I can have secretaries, deans, provosts, and other administrators write similar letters indicating I was a student here. If you ever come to my school with a news crew and interview these people, they will not suddenly forget I was a student here. My student records will not disappear into thin air. So, those records exist. I have participated in numerous academic programs, worked a couple jobs, all which require some connection with my university. Essentially, almost everyone who knows me knows what school I goto. If I needed to prove to someone now, 2 days from now, five years from now, 20 years from now, or the minute before I died, I will be able to do it!

In order for me to apply to grad schools, I have to prove I'm who I say I am. Paper and electronic records must be transmitted, independently of me which confirm this information. Even if I wanted to, at this point, it is practically impossible for me to ever erase all evidence of me attending my university.

If I was blind from birth and given my sight, heck, if I lost my sight at the age of 10 and regained it later through a miraculous healing, you can be sure I could prove to anyone who wished to know that I was miraculously cured. Not only would I do it, I would actually feel it is my duty to do so. Ever notice how in the bible, almost everyone who was healed ran out telling everyone they could, even though Jesus told them to go and tell no one about it? Yeah, you couldn't shut me up if I was miraculously healed.

So, you come to me with BS about people being healed and there being no way to prove it. Unless in Nigeria, people who are healed miraculously are immediately shot, all their family, friends, doctors are put to death, and so there is no way anyone could possibly verify the miracle, then there should be at least one person whose entire life history is open from birth to healing. And, to my knowledge, there is not even ONE such person.

That is the damn shame. I hear soo much of all these healers and healings and crap, and not one single shred of evidence. And i'm just supposed to believe.

No need to make it a submission issue.

Just ask her to hand over the money.

Dude, the topic is about when you actually HAVE the kids, not the problem of INFERTILITY. Those are two different things. Here, we are discussing constantly producing female children. Your post is discussing producing NO children.

Umm, i read you previous post. Nowhere do you qoute any scripture where we are told to ask other people to pray for us.

Your stance, (well really, the catholic stance has a lot of problems)

1) You say prayers to Mary or other saints

- Nowhere in the bible does it mention that we should pray to anyone other than God. Further, praying to something other than God is defined in the bible as idolatry.

2) You say it is the same as asking someone to pray for me.

- When I ask John to pray for me, I don't go home, get on my kness and say, "I pray to you John to intercede on my behalf with God". Instead, I call John and ASK him to do it. I don't PRAY to the person. BIG difference!

3) You claim people in heaven (angels too) pray for us. Again, NONE of your scripture actually says this. It says they pray, but not for whom they pray.

Ultimately, this is your argument, you are asking Mary to intercede for you. Unfortunately, the words you use are not something like, "hey mary, could you pray for me", you are directing your prayers TO mary, which is idolatry.

Its really funny that you are able to say, "when we pray to Mary" and not instantly feel foolish. You would never be caught saying, "so the other night, I prayed to my grandpa". If you don't pray to your parents or other people, if you feel praying to other people is wrong, then you definitely should agree that praying to Mary is wrong. Unless you are saying that we can pray to other people.

Or perhaps we can only pray to dead people? Which is it?

Allonym, you don't have to believe the bible is the word of God, you don't have to believe there is a God either, what is important is for you to have heard at sometime the truth, and you argued it and rejected it.

of course the writers of the new testament have access to scripts from the old testament, they use it in their worship in the temples and synagogues.

Of course, this is under the assumption that you are actually bearing truth and not lies.

Truth is able to stand on its own. You don't need any convincing to understand it. Truth does not deceive. So, if I am unconvinced, that suggests there is some untruth in your message.

A quick search of this (on google) doesn't show anything from google itself about this project. I'll do some more looking once i get some sleep.
