Christianity EtcRe: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by Allta(m): 9:58am On Aug 15, 2007
@ Lorenxso

The book of Deutoronomy 18v18-23 says if whatever a prophet says on behalf of God did not come to past, then that prophet is not speaking on HIS behalf, meaning that prophet is fake.
This man of God has a history of speaking many prophesies that did not come to past so as far as I am concerned he is a fake prophet.
1. Deut 18 no reach 23, it stops at 22, abi you dey read another Bible to us? (Just pulling your legs my friend, no hard feelings)

2. I'm not trying to defend this man, but comparing your analysis with what happened in 2 Kings 20, when King Hezekiah became mortally ill, and Isaiah prophecised that he will surely die, from your analysis, would it mean that at that at the end of verse 6, Isaiah is a false prophet, afterall his prophecy in verse 1 didn't come to pass.

3. My Point is, this "Christian God" chooses to speak and do whatever pleases him, he could decide that something will happen today and then decide otherwise tomorrow due to an interveinsion of some sort, like in verse 2&3 of 2 Kings 20. Before Isaiah left the court, as in the palace, God spoke again, asking Isaiah to return back to the King and inform him of answered prayers.

4. Pls Note, my point is not whether Bakare is a false prohpet or not, my point is God can speak something to someone today and then speak otherwise tomorrow if he decides to. Obviously, there are some of his words which he will never change and he's up to him to choose to do whatever pleases him, at the end of the day, isn't that why God is God!

5. My Hypothesis relating to Bakare's case: Maybe God spoke those words through him, maybe he should have kept it to himself and prayed about it, maybe OBJ and other "affecteds" decided to pray and cry to God as Hezekiah did in 2 Kings 20, just maybe God heard their cries and answered their prayers, maybe God spoke again to Bakare that he had overturn his decision, just maybe Bakare should have gone on air again to reveal this, At the end of the Day, all we can speculate upon are just "MayBes", as we don't have any physical proof to crucify Bakare , so why not less us spare the man, afterall, Seun and other fellow "Free-Thinkers" will say in Court of Law that a man is not guilty until proven at the court of law , Just Maybe we should just leave the man alone and let him be

Hello Fellows,

1. I'm a Christian who believe in God

Please I'm wondering where in the Bible did Christ taught about "Tithe" if it's so important as our pastors potray it these days?

I have open mind to learn please, I've heard from 99% Pastors that if I don't pay Tithe, then God will not Bless me as much as those who pay Tithe? Did Christ mention anything about the consequences of not Paying Tithe? So is this one of the Jewish laws which has lived till date or what?

I just read people's argument about tithing being in the old testament, so why don't we offer goats and ram to God these days, at least that one self dey old testament, init?

@ebo
I'm surprised that some people are openly backing Tunder Bakare - a big time false Prophet.  He should be banned.  That man is not a man of God.  Someone that suffers malaria and dream, he wakes up the following day to prophesize nonsense.  Do we call it hallucination or what?
Look, it's not about backing Tunde Bakare, it's about getting into your head that Prophecies don't Have to Come to Pass! That's plane english enuf isn't it?

I've not been to his Church before, I don hear the man speak before though, you can choose to belief if he's a false pastor or not , fine, but please understand that the fact that some of his prophecies don't come to pass, doesn't mean he's a false prophet. Or is there something else other than these prophesies, let us know , na personal beef abi the guy gave your fiancee a prophecy not to marry you?

You'll have to proof that his prophecies aren't from God before you can categorically state that he's a False Prophet, and to proof that, you'll have to consult with God himself, no human or physical fact can support your hypothesis. Now, be careful at what you say you hear from God because with the measure you judge others, you also will be judged.

In those days, "Concortions" cook faster to Beans, so most guys will prefer sharp-sharp cookery in the hostels. But it's my specials, so I cook it especially when i've got "August Visitors".

But going to restaurant, I think we go for Bread and Beans simply because it's more filling and carry us through large chunk of the day. Remember those times when you finish a plate of rice and then before you reach outside, it's already digested. But that's not true for classic BB, Amala, Fufu, Eba etc.

These are my own opinion, yours might be of slightly different view.

Christianity EtcRe: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by Allta(m): 5:09pm On Aug 14, 2007
Let me take out time to reiterate something

What is False prophesy:

A False Prophesy is just any other Prophecy without being devinely inspired.

A Prophet can prophesy(make predictions) which are devinely inspired by God, and then it necessarily doesn't have to come to pass. That wouldn't make this a False Prophesy.

If you're a very good learner, you should have figured this out, now you've forced me to cite an example in the Bible , 2 Kings 20:1 - 11; In this chapter was Isaiah's prophecy to King Hezekiah, that he will die from his sickness, but Hezekiah went to God and prayed. Isaiah actually went to the King's house to inform him, at least Bakare never went to AssoRock abi? You can see how passionate Isaiah was io this story. Ofcourse, the end of the the story ended with addition of extra 15 years to the king's life.

So you tell me, is it that Isaiah is a false prophet in this context? I want to believe you'll say NO to that. So biblically, there is nothing wrong in prophesying about someone's death, but if that person pray to God and God increases his days, then that doesn't make the Prophet a "False" Prophet. What makes a False prophet is not that the prophecy never come to pass, it's that the prophesy isn't from God!

Do you need any more proof? Please research into things before Judging people ,

Peace Out!
Christianity EtcRe: Why Did God Plant That Tree In The Garden Of Eden? by Allta(m): 4:28pm On Aug 14, 2007
Whatever People believe, this is what I personally choose to believe:

I tried quetioning everyone around me about so many questions in the Bible, The tree of the Knowledge of good and evil, who did Cain marry , his sister, are we all decendants of Noa, etc. I received answers to some of them, but at the end of the day, I just came to this conclusion:

1. Faith shouldn't move in parallel to Facts, if we had facts to all we asked, then there will be nothing to have "Faith" in or "Believe" in. If I had answers to everything I asked, then there is no place of that element of things unseen, hope of things to come and things that have happend long time in the past.

2. Is there any fact that Yesua (Jesus) every existed, I will say no to that, but I am happy to belong to that collection of people who believe in what was written and put together by the scholars which we were told, were led by the spirit of God to put all the "spiritually-relevant" books together to form today's Bible.

3. Whatever anyone chooses to Believe, it's important that Facts aren't all we need to exist in this modern world , 21st Century. There are lots and loads of doctrines out there, but at the end of the day, it's down to your personal relationship with God, what did God reveal to you about these things?

Christianity EtcRe: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by Allta(m): 4:00pm On Aug 14, 2007
As a true man of God, if God shows you a vision that the president of your country would die, you are not to broadcast it. You are supposed to intercede for him. Pray to God privately to change his mind and not let him die.

But Tunde Bakare like I mentioned earlier wanted a name for himself. So I don’t think he is a man of God. His prophecies has already shown the whole public the kind of person he is.
My Friend, your opinion isn't invalid, but it's not justifiable sha , make I yarn:-

1. People must realise that Pastors are Humans, they've got flesh also, and could be driven by emotions. As long as you're alive, Emotions are bound to kick in. Tell me who doesn't show any emotions at all and i will show you a physically dead man.

2. We all have different ability with regards to controlling our emotions, some Christians may say that this isn't totally accurate, but even Christ showed his emotions of some sort, try to picture the that place in the Bible where Christ say the temple in a state of mess, he became unhappy (angry in another words). There are so many examples in the Bible where "Men of God" showed emotions, some got away scot free, some had to pay the price , Moses, Paul was very pationate about what he believes. Bakare own na small, Paul will lambash any body and he isn't a respecter of persons.

3. I would love to mention another pastor who came out Public , Okotie, I might not be totally correct, but I learnt he proclaim God revealed he's gonna be the President of Nigeria. Well, that is a Prophecy of some sort, did it come to pass? NO! at least not now.

4. People shouldn't be judged for being outspoken and passionate at what they believed. In the UK, you wouldn't find most Blacks in the Political Sector, why? They hide their potentials undergrounds and most prefer to engage in menial daily lifestyles. A no-care attitude, most Christians feel they can't go a long way in Politics, this is not true, but when someone stands out, and proclaims himself as a forefront, people start complaining that he/she is trying to make a name for himself/herself.

5. In a nutshell, I understand people's perspective and totally appreciate their concerns about these things, but if you truelly understand what prophecies are, also that a so called Pastor has got emotions like every body else, that people are different and we should just take them for that, the fact that someone is outspoken doesn't mean he's trying to make a name for himself , then we shouldn't judge others , like they said esp Pastors! But that doesn't mean you should take every word that come from them at a platter of Diamond, as Christians, we were taught to cross-check all we hear from them, and only hold on to those that are truth, ofcourse using the word of God as reference point ,

Christianity EtcRe: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by Allta(m): 3:41pm On Aug 14, 2007
to me this man should be rated best among others! even if he criticised that papi will die and was prove otherwise, what i believed is that he's more emotional in real sense of things, having considered the comatoes stage of the country during papi regime. even that intimidation might have deviated papi from more devilish plan.
Abi oO!

Nostrademous Allegedly predicted 2 large Birds will crash into a mighty/tall building as we read, if he had been more accurate/specific about the What Bird, What Building, Place, Date and Time, do you think US wouldn't stop all planes from flying on September 11? This is an example of what I'm saying that seeing the Future can change a lot of things around you. Maybe Baba changed somethings because of what Bakare said, maybe so many Nigerians prayed without season for Nigeria to still be together after April Election, based on what Bakare said.

So, let's not crucify the man, anyone should have the freedom to prophesy whatever they see , that will help us to change something about our future, ie. if we believe in such prophesy, but like I said, you have the freedom and choice not to believe in such prophecy/predictions, no one will crucify you for not believing, so don't crucify another person.

There is an unconfirmed story/theory/Hypothesis that American Intelligence heard of the Sept11 Terror plans, but they chose not to believe it's "technically" possible or viable, so one of the Intelligence officials discarded he information/intelligence.

For the records, I don't attend LatterRain, and I'm not a great fan of Bakare , some of these things are just common senses.

Christianity EtcRe: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by Allta(m): 3:14pm On Aug 14, 2007
This post for me isn't meant to be controversial.

1. Tunde Bakare is a renowed "Man of God", just like most other Christians in Nigeria, at least every True Christian should be refered to as Men of God.

2. Every Man of God has the gift of prophecy of some form and some operate in that Dimension, at least this is what we believe.

3. Prophecies aren't Future Occurences, they are just divinely inspired utterances or revelations  fortelling or "predicting" what is to come. By the way, this is the Dictionary definition and not something I just coined from the Bible.

4. Do all Predictions necessarily come to pass, I will say no to that. I don't want to pick numerous examples from the Bible, but even in Daily life occurences, we predict things which necessarily don't have to come to pass. So if someone predict that if an Oyinbo chop Amala for Iya-Buka joint or if bitten by mosquito in Lagos, he's going to fall sick, that's doesn't necessarily have to happen. Yes, people die of Mosquitoes, but it necessarily doensn't have to happen!

5. If you's seen the New Jonny Cage movie "Next", I love his favourite words in that movie : "Everytime you look into the future, you change Something", Maybe Tunde Bakare, just like any other God Believing true Christian saw the future of OBJ, and just maybe OBJ realised something by running to other "Men of God" to change something about that Future. At least, millions of Nigerians prayed that April election should go through, millions fasted and cried, even the non-Christians wanted a "successful" election. God as Christians believed, hear the cries of his people and answer their prayers.

6. On the point that Muslim being God-sent, I think i'm happy with the answer someone gave on this one. But just to add to it, you don't have to be a Christian for "God" to use you. As Christians believes, if he can turn dry dead bones into a mighty Army, and use stones to replace even we humans, then we shouldn't question him on who to use in situations like these. As Nigerians, let's lot create a religious boundary, or an ethnic barrier amongst ourselves. It's high time Nigeria moved on!

Peace Out!

If this is about Workers, then it's only logical to say the main reason is to instill some form of decency/conformity into Workers. It's doesn't mean GO asked them to stop wearing Trousers because some of them are guilty of leading "Brothers" to Hell!

Like I said, understand if it's about "looking smart", "conformity" of some sort, even some Banks say what people should wear and what not to wear, at the end of the day, it's down to the policy of the organisation you're working with/under. If you're not happy then move on, if you're then stay , period! Every organisation reserve the right to effect policies it deems ok which "jells" well with the image building and mission/vision of the same.

God or No God

Heaven or No Heaven

At the end of the day, people are entitled to their own opinions as well as beliefs which translates into faith. Whatever you chose to belief or have faith in, be it in your self, atheism, freethinking, budism, jewism, whatever, or another entity called God/Allah, at the end of the day, what is most important is to tolerate one another.

A Belief which doesn't encourage torelance should be questioned in my own candid opinion.

There is a popular saying: "The Mind sees what it chose to see", I can look at a slurt with sexy outfit and see something else , this is not ordinary belief me, but it comes with days of training your mind.

I respect the reason for the rule, but I don't see the rule stopping anything , trust me, I can see an SS in one of those SS outfits and still choose to fantasise in my minds , you can only control spiritual things from the spiritual itself, mental from the mental itself, I don't see how physical things can help resolve spiritual ones.

Afterall, those things that manifest in the physical have correlations to things which have existed in the non-physical.

It doesn't have to be siemens though, but any Point of Sale Equipment will do. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, you can however correct me if I'm wrong somewhere. All I'm referring to is that Siemens POS Device used for the last National Identification Exercise.

Let me say that I felt bad when you said would not show any futher interest. I though we're all out here to help and teach each other, and what did you mean by:

You are not paying us to help you
I found this statement offensive, anyway all I want is someone to discuss the development I've been batling with for months now. I don't understand what else you required from me. As per the device, all I know is this: it's a siemens POS device, I'm sure you all remember that device used for National Identification Exercise sometimes ago.

Abi everyone else, I think I know what I'm referring to just like you guys do too.

I just want to know if any developer out here could help suggest ways to go about this project. From the Technical Point of View, all I need is a php capable browser to be implemented on such micro-controller equipment. Someone suggest that I code with C# another said J#.

Another part to this project is the GSM gateway that will allow people cast their votes via their mobile phones. I'm sure one could get that done by porting the application into .NET framework of Microsoft. (Maybe form PHP to ASP.NET or something) Although I'm aware how difficult it could be sometimes to migrate between several coding frameworks, but what matter most is getting the design done from Elicitation Requirements. Now how do I move ASP.NET Apps to a WAP App.

My Head is begining to smoke up, can anyone help me get out of this complex mess.

Hi all,

concerning the mysqli extension, I discorvered you need the php version 5 to integrate directly with mysql 5.0 and then you can enjoy the stored procedure part. But at our firm in London, we had to integrate a class that aids the construction of some methods which do the convertion without uninstalling phpv4 for phpv5.

But I will advice that you install phpv5 and mysqlv5 in other to enjoy the new features optimally
