The application only covers the bills and does not give me or my wife any medicaid benefits thereafter. I was told that each time we receive any bill from the hospital, we will need to fill out an application for emergency medicaid so that the hospital bills will be paid for.

Did you apply for a permit after paying $25.00 for the driver`s license? Because when I did mine at the DMV`s office on Babcock Rd, San Antonio TX. I only paid the $25.00 for the driver`s license and after passing the written test, I wanted to get a permit but the lady who was attending to me advised that it will cost $11.00 and that its going to be a waste of money since I have the opportunity of doing the road test 3 times with the $25.00 I paid already. I guess you were asked to pay the $11.00 when you want to do the road test because you already got a permit upon passing the written test...

It is not as tough as it sound. I know someone who completed the whole process within a week. I completed mine in 2 weeks because of my busy schedule. Knowing how to drive (partially) and studying the manual before taking the tests is the only way out. You won`t be taken to the highway or a busy road; just within a street. Going left, right several times observing the traffic signs and the traffic rules & regulations.

Congratulations for passing the written test. However, you will not receive any Driving/Learner Permit Card in the mail except you apply and pay a fee of $11.00 for it. The $25.00 fee you paid when you applied for the driver`s license is all you need to pay and you have until 90 days after the day you wrote the test to pass the Road Test. You have 3 attempts and you can only fail the road test 2 times. If you fail the 3rd time, you will have to apply again and start the process all over again. If you already know how to drive or have little knowledge, I will advise that you start practising parallel parking. Its a major aspect of the road test here in the USA. But if you do not know how to drive at all, then you need to apply for a Driving/Learner Permit asap so that you can be able to drive having a licensed driver of not less than 21 yrs old with at least 2 yrs of driving experience with you in the front seat anytime you are driving. You can go to any DMV office around you to practice the parallel parking during weekends only. Do not forget to study the Texas driver`s manual to know more about the rules. Very important! Perhaps you may call KCC and provide them with the address. Have your case number and every other details close by while making the call. Just request that you will like to make an update on your forms.

House, please can a permanent resident be approved for Medicaid? I am in Texas and I already applied for medicaid for my wife after an emergency visit to the hospital when she was having some pains below her abdomen and the bills already arrived in the mail.. it is approximately 3200.00usd... We`ve got CHIP and STAR benefits. But a social worker informed us that those does not cover emergency visits to the hospital and also that we are not qualify for Medicaid. So I am confused as to what to do now. Has the social worker misinformed us or what? Please I need a quick advise from whoever have been through this before. Thanks

Maintain your status. If you get married after the release of the DV lottery result, your chances of getting the Visa is very narrow. But if you maintain that you are single and meet all the requirement, you stand a better chance of getting the visa. Your son in question was definately born before you played the lottery so including him now will automatically ruin your chances. You can file for your son after you have gotten the visa. Be wise.... Don`t gamble with the opportunity....

To the glory of God, I received my Greencard and Social Security Card in the mail yesterday; that is after 18 days since arriving The States. It seems like an eternity. But they are finally here.... How the job hunt begins while I am doing some certification courses.... Bro I understand what you are saying,my green card too got lost in transit because i change address when I came down, I have to pay $450 for replacement,they received my application and also send Notice of Action with reciept number,however if you dont receive your green within 30days call USCIS, they will tell you the status of your Application.

Thanks bro. I actually did a lil more research and I found out that the I-797C, Notice of Action is Issued to communicate receipt of payments, rejection of applications, transfer of files, fingerprint biometric, interview and re-scheduled appointments, and re-open cases. In our case it is receipt of payments and I hope that a decision is made concerning the payment as soon as possible so that they can reopen our case and process our GC before the September deadline.

I will check our status as soon as the letter gets here by Friday.............

One more thing, I and my wife applied for our Sola Sola last week Monday and my wife`s own arrived on Monday. Mine is yet to show up. I want to believe its a delay from the post office..... What do you think could have actually caused the delays?

No problem my brother, once you receive notice of action, then you are in order, if you didnt receive your green card within 3o days then call them.

@adesojiaderemi, the notice of action type we received, I believe, is not thesame type as the one you guys that received your visa packages before Feb 2013 received. I think this notice of action is kind of complicated because it has to do with the new $165.00 USCIS Fee. Receipt Notice suspending further action (Processing of the green card) until a decision have been made concerning the paid fee.... I have been trying to get a better comprehensive explanation of what is going on but I have not been able to be provided with that until I have my receipt number; I am not in possesion of the letter because it was sent to the NY address I provided as my final destination but we had to come to TX....

So those of you that have letter and know the receipt number, you can call USCIS or track your status with the receipt number. I will do our`s as when the letter gets here hopefully by Friday.

If anyone have any explanation for this I will so much appreciate it.... Please don`t tell me what you think I will like to hear oo. Say it as it is or as it were...... Thanks.

pls enlighten me here because i have paid about two weeks ago and they still indicated on the letter that fee is in suspense until they have made a final decision.

Please guys, i received NOTICE OF RECEIPT from Homeland Security today. It states that further action is suspended until a decision is made concerning my fees. I paid the fees since 26th of March.

My Questions are : 1. Could this be the so-called welcome letter and if not how does it look like?
2. Could the paid fees still possibly not received by Homeland security yet?

We received the same notice in the mail today. Whereas we paid the fees 2 weeks before we departed Naija using my debit master card. I think its a procedure Homeland security have to follow until they finally verify or receives the money from the bank or the credit/debit card provider.

Nevertheless, I will give them a call tomorrow to inquiry about what is really going on. I am certain it is not a big deal. Lets just hope we won`t have to wait too long than usual because of this fee palava.

YES. All you need to do is to have your wife fill the information at the back of the pick up letter given to you at the embassy. And go along with a government ID like ur national ID or driver`s license. Make a photocopy of the ID because it is quite expensive at the pick up centre.

NO. Principal applicant must enter first no matter what. If, God forbid, the principal applicant dies before entering the US, the beneficiaries visas become null/void. I stand to be corrected.

You don`t need to worry about the address you put on the dsp230 form. You can enter The US through any State but your green card will be sent to the address on the DSP230 form if you did not change it at the POE on your arrival.

Another option, on a more economical budget, you can board a flight to New York (JFK); less than 145k per adult. And take the subway (train) to New Jersey. I bet you would be spending less than 160k per adult to get to your final destination from Lagos if you choose this option. You can Royal Air Morroc, Turkish and Emirate for this second option.

It is true that the Visa Bulletin For April 2013 is out but visas are available only for applicants with DV regional lottery rank numbers BELOW 14,500 in Nigeria. While for May 2013, it is 17000 and below. This simply means that if your country of eligibility is Nigeria and your case number is within 14,500 you are current for April 2013 while those from 14,501 to 17,000 are current in May depending on when KCC receives your forms. I stand to be corrected.

If you are talking about SSCE WAEC result, you can only get the certificate from the secondary sch you graduated from if you wrote the exams there. But if it is a GCE WAEC result then you can only get it from the WAEC office.

@garvins, Emirate is currently running promo on return ticket to JFK at 1000 usd. They usually have 2 flights daily from Lagos to New York with stop over in Dubai. Depending on your travel plans, you can take advantage of this opportunity and buy the return ticket to New York. When you gets to NY, you can board Delta airline to Texas. Reason why I chose Delta airline is because you can actually book and pay for the ticket right here at the airport. This is exactly what I did and I spent approximately 1150.00usd (181,700 Naira) per person from Lagos to San Antonio, Texas. The only downside is that we will have to spend about 8hrs in NY before connecting the flight to Texas - this may turn out to be fun though; we are considering going for sight seeing before the flight time........ Actually our initial final destination was New York but something came up. Now we would be going to San Antonio, TX.

Perhaps, you may find a more cheaper price if you check very well or ask around.

So they need to reschedule their interveiw.

Interview can only be reschedule after the original interview date have passed. The embassy may not reply until after the original interview date.
