No2Atheism: - olabowale is obviously a smooth and deceptive supportive supporter of islam. - the boko haram killers were following islam. - force conversion in islam includes and is not restricted to killing, beheading, taxation, harrasment etc. - islam calls for forced conversion. - olabowale is lying wen he says boko haram are evildoers considering that Mohammed himself did worst. - Since mohammed and boko haram did the same things, then it means Olabowale just confirmed that Mohammed is also an evildoer.

They were rushed to St. John Hospital in Kabba town. The council chairmen were in the town for their monthly forum meeting and were about to leave on Thursday, when armed men, according to Ankpa Council chairman, Mr. Vincent Baba, who spoke to the Nigerian Tribune, invaded the hotel between 7.00 a.m. and 7.30 a.m. The abductors, according to him, came in two police vehicles equipped with gadgets and which they used to announce their arrival, adding that the armed men told them that they were aware of their presence in the hotel and ordered them to file out in their own interest. Baba said that many of them instantly locked their rooms against the marauders, but unfortunately, two council chairmen who were about leaving the hotel, Honourables Earnest Abba, and Ropo Asala, of Igalamela and Yagba West Local Government areas of the state, were whisked away. Baba told the Nigerian Tribune said that the strange visitors might have abducted some three people on their way from Ekiti, stressing that the dressing of one man suggested that he was a lawyer while that of the female suggested that she was a wife of a chief as, according to him, the woman dressed elegantly, stating that he sighted them when they were being dragged from the vehicles they came in to the two Hillux buses of the council chairmen. The armed men were said to have come from Ekiti State and unmasked as they ransacked the hotel, lamenting the manner in which the policemen were shot in the head and buttocks for daring them. The acting police commissioner in the state, Mallam Abdullahi Magaji, also confirmed to the Nigerian Tribune that the abductors came from Ekiti State with three people already abducted, adding that one of them was brought down by his men and confirmed the death of the policemen. The incident gave rise to an emergency security council meeting in Lokoja on Thursday while the incident had thrown the whole state into mourning as people gathered in groups discussing the incident. Baba said: “As I’m speaking with you now, we just finished a meeting with the governor and we have not received any message about their whereabouts.” Nigerian Tribune however, gathered that the kidnappers called an official of the state government, using the mobile phone number of one of their abductors, demanding N60 million as ransom before the two council bosses could be released. |

294 Ekiti workers may go to jail over fake certificates From BOLU-OLU ESHO, Ado-Ekiti Friday, August 7, 2009 Ekiti State Government has disclosed that salaries of 294 workers in the state civil service have been suspended over presentation of fake certificates to gain appointment into the state civil service. http://odili.net/news/source/2009/aug/7/512.htmlAddressing newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, the state Head of Service (HOS), Mr. Olufemi Adewumi, disclosed that the state had been losing over N7.2 million annually to workers who entered into the service with fake and forged credentials. Adewumi disclosed that the state government suspected that there were “a lot of irregularities in the payment of salaries in the public service” and a private consulting firm was commissioned by the state government to conduct staff auditing exercise. Having submitted its interim report, the auditing firm wrote that a total number of 294 workers were discovered to have gained appointment into the state public service with fake certificates. According to the HOS, “ one hundred of this figure are secondary school teachers while the remaining 194 are from the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).” On the reception of the interim report, the state government set a committee to verify the allegations of the auditing firm. Adewumi said: “This committee has invited all officers alleged to have used forged certificates to defend themselves. The committee’s assignment is on-going. No report has been submitted yet by the committee.” Among other offenders discovered were some officers who were “being overpaid because they had been illegally moved above their normal salary steps resulting in great loss to the government, receiving salaries in multiple pay points; overstay in service as well as those who falsified their dates of birth and dates of first appointment.” Dismissing the rumour that the auditing exercise was meant to witchhunt some workers due to their alleged attitude during the April 25, 2009 governorship re-run election in the state, the HOS said the exercise had commenced late last year, noting that the exercise was not selective and cut across all levels. Explaining further, Adewumi said the salaries of the 294 workers were stopped, saying “we can’t be paying them until they prove their innocence.” He, however, noted that there is every possibility that not all the alleged workers would be fired, noting that some of them may eventually prove their innocence. He noted that “nobody has been asked to withdraw from the public service. Nobody has also been asked to refund any money yet. Verification exercise is still ongoing.” Nevertheless, among the punitive measures to be taken by the state government were refunding of all the money collected from the purse of the government, dismissal and, ultimately, prosecution. |

Olawale Jibona, who worked in Brixton Prison, has been jailed for trying to smuggle cannabis and prescription drug Zopiclone in. The 51-year-old from Peckham was sentenced to three and a half years at Southwark Crown Court
by: Claire Burke4 August 2009
A NURSE who worked at Brixton Prison has been jailed for trying to smuggle in drugs.
Olawale Jibona, employed in the medical centre at the jail, was found with a 123-gram block of cannabis resin.
The 51-year-old, from the Lindley Estate in Peckham , was also carrying 28 pills of insomnia prescription drug Zopiclone.
Jibona, who was apparently planning to sell the drugs to fund a move to Canada, was sentenced to three and a half years imprisonment at Southwark Crown Court after pleading guilty.
DC Kevin Gow, from the London Prison Anti-Corruption Team, said: "Olawale Jibona was caught due to the thorough search regime by staff at Brixton Prison.
“He may have thought that bringing drugs into prison would be a quick way to earn the extra money he was seeking to move his family to Canada.
"He may have thought that bringing drugs into prison would be a quick way to earn the extra money he was seeking to move his family to Canada" “Instead he will be missing his two children grow up and he will now join his former clients behind bars.”
He also faces the prospect of being struck off the Nursing & Midwifery Council Register.
During his lunch break on 24 April Jibona took a carrier bag from his car before going back into the prison.
When security officers searched him they found the block of cannabis resin wrapped in cling film inside the bag.
They also found a Pepsi bottle that contained a mixture of alcohol and coke and the Zopiclone pills in blister packs stuck to the side of the bottle.
A search of his car uncovered £240 in £20 notes hidden under a mat by the front passenger seat. |

When illiterates are allowed to run the govt, how will things get better. Read a Nigerian politician answer the tribunal and laugh with me.
Friday, August 7, 2009
Judges of the Osun State governorship election tribunal, including lawyers, reeled in laughter, on Thursday, as an Action Congress (AC) witness, who was behaving funny in court, informed the tribunal that he did not take beer but took palm wine.
http://odili.net/news/source/2009/aug/7/609.html
The witness, Towogbola Oluwaseyi, who said he was AC supervisor for Ilare Ward IV in Ife Central Local Government Area of the state, turned the court hall to a drama stage with his theatrics, as he informed the court under cross examination that he was not a beer parlour operator but was running a night club.
At a stage, the AC witness warned the counsel for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dayo Famakin-Johnson, not to insult him when he was reminded that the court was not a night club, where he could direct proceedings.
Excerpt of the cross-examination goes thus:
Mr Towogbola, you are a beer parlour operator?
I run a night club patronised by everybody, including the AC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members.
When do night clubs close for business?
Night clubs close for business at 12 midnight.
At what time did you get to your polling unit on election day?
I am not a time keeper, so I don’t know.
Have a look at your own exhibit 19K by one Olajide- can you see that it has no date?
Yes, it is very glaring.
Look at exhibit 19N, another report you tendered, it also has no date?
Of course, I can see it has no date.
Look at the next exhibit, it also contains no date on when it was made.
Yes, it is very glaring that it has no date.
It is only the makers who can tell when they were made?
Yes. That is very glaring.
Look at those reports you just tendered, your own statement is not there
I will not hesitate to tell you that I am not a party agent . So you cannot expect my report to be there.
Mr Towogbola, you sell alcohol?
I don’t sell alcohol but I sell beer. I am known everywhere up to the head office of the Nigerian Breweries (general laughter).
How many bottles of beer have you taken today?
God so good, I don’t drink beer. I only drank soft drinks and palm wine (judges and lawyers reeled in laughter).
Meanwhile, efforts by the counsel for Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, the Action Congress (AC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Mr. Akin Olujimi, to save the testimony of one of his witnesses, who told the election tribunal that he deposed to his statement in the office of his lawyer, proved abortive.
The witness, Alfa Ibrahim Oladiti, on Thursday, told the tribunal that he was the supervisor for the AC in Moore/Ojaja ward in Ife Central Local Government Area of the state.
During a cross examination by Famakin-Johnson, he informed the court that he signed his statement in the office of his lawyer.
Statements in an election petition are, by law, supposed to be signed at the registry of the election tribunal.
Olujimi later sought to re-examine the witness on that point, asking him to explain again to the tribunal where he signed the statement.
This was countered by counsel for Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Dr. Alex Izinyon and Famakin-Johnson, who asked the tribunal to disallow the question because there was no ambiguity in it.
The tribunal chairman, Justice Ali Garba, consequently, ruled that there was no ambiguity in the answer and that the question was disallowed.
The AC witness also accused 80-year-old Obalufe of Ile Ife, the second in command to the Ooni of Ife, of leading thugs to disrupt the election in his ward.
Another AC witness, Omole Adegbamigbe, a Lagos-based lawyer, who was AC supervisor for Ward 8, Atakumosa West Local Government Area of the state, had, on Wednesday, informed the tribunal that he also deposed to his witness statement before the registrar of the high court of Osun State in Osogbo.

I think its wrong to charge for toilet. It's better they collect money for parking than toilet because the latter is a necessity. If every Redeem parish in the world contributes N10,000 each, it will foot the toilet bill at the convention. Bad management if i must say. It's not daddy's fault because he may not know about it. |
