I would like to ask about bank accounts for children. I want to open an account for my lo.

All sabi mamas

Sorry for the late response, i dont know oh, dont have one yet for my dd. I hope others have answered. It is still on my to do list!

I may just open a random one and put some money in a fixed deposit and the interest goes into the child account as a means of building it up because i dont think i will remember to do monthly deposits.

Please oo.
My son just turned one and I stopped breastfeeding when he did. He was already eating table foods before he turned one so it was no trouble weaning him. I started him on Nido Kinder so he can get his milk but I just remembered moms here discussing about how Full Cream Milk is better than Instant Filled Milk.

Trouble is, all the brands noted here (Loya et all) are not sold here. Please does anybody know of any full cream milk I can buy in the US? sad

Buy the fresh liquid milk, not powdered. It would usually come in full, semi skimmed and skimmed options in the fridge section.

That is your best bet,

Just pour in bottle and pop into a cupof hot water to heat up.

Good day mamas

I was thinking, why don't we pick out a day for DIY (do it yourself). Like mamas that know a thing or two can share with us just like we have prayer Monday, bumpy Tuesday and fabulous Friday...

This is me thinking out loud though

Good morning mamas, please my niece (10months plus), she has been vomiting uncontrollably since yesterday, although it has happened to her before and we took her to d hospital where she was admitted and given drip. This time around they told us to go back home and watch for changes. Now, my question is, what could have been d cause? And what can we do to stop it? She can now walk very well, but no single teeth. Please ur response/s is/are needed. Good morning ma's

Vomitting may be a tummy bug! Children touch all sorts and put all sort of things in their mouths so it will be hard to pin point the cause.
I hope she is not stooling as well. Then that will be very bad.

Is she managing to eat or drink anything inbetween? Ensure you offer her at least sips of water and some milk as well.

Please take her back to the hospital and bunk out there oh. Anything more than 3 bouts of vomit or stooling, me i pack my tent plus the kitchen sink and go and sit in front of doctors office untill i can see she has improoved
. With children , things like that can go bad really quickly so let them admit her . Please and monitor her closely.
She may need rehydration treatment. and they may be able to give her something to suppress the vomitting.

Pls sweet mothers pls advice. My very good friend is getting married at a location that is 7hrs away from mine. Would u advice I travel that distance with my 7months old baby or I should send her some money? She attended mine and she was so helpful. She also attended the later hour marriage celebration my parents did she was also of great help.
Pls adivice me.

I will say maybe leave your baby and go for a couple of nights for the wedding.
The issue is not the travelling, it is whether you will have time to really participate when you are at the wedding.

Attending an event with a baby when you have no one trusted to leave him with is a big issue.

Are you going to carry him all day? And dance, help the bride as you would love to? You will get offers from people asking you to drop him so you can be a bit free, if you are not sure of them your paranoid mama mode will kick in. Also bear in mind that all your friends family members that you may know and feel uou can drop your baby with will be busy as well.

Even down to the cloth you wear will need to be considered. If you are breast feeding, then you may need something that allows easy access.... oshelenge gown is not an option !

Also rule out any shine-shine cloth with sequines and scratch lace / embellishmenrs as if you need to back or use baby carrier when baby is a sleep, alls the sequines will be poking baby's face and arms.

Also consider the sleeping arrangements at the location. Are you booking a hotel or sleeping at your friends house, if at your friends place, consider how full the house is, even to find spare wrapper or pillow is a big issue not to talk of mattress. You will need to carry your baby's sleeping gear so that at least you know he is sorted. Then you can rough it solo.

If you can drop baby with your mum or mil if they are close by. Travel with your breast bump to allow you relieve any engorgement.

Or travel with someone, may be your help or younger sister. It will help you tremendously.

thank you ma.although I don't know what is bpa

It is some additive in plastic manufacture that leeches out into food and liquid contents. It is harmful for human consumption. So many baby plastics are generally made without it.

hey mamas, how are we doing today?

biko my question is on milk for babies...

If babies can start taking cow milk from 1 year, then why do different formula brands have stage 3 which is supposed to be from 12 months and above?

Personally I think it's marketing! the milk is fortified, with minerals and vitamins that is the only difference.
if your baby is eating a healthy and varied diet, they should be getting most of the nutirents and vitamins from other sources of foods hence cow's milk is fine for babies above 1 year.

if your baby is not eating well, then you may want to continue on the toddler milk, or i would say if you substitite with cow's milk and give toddler grade multivitamins. that being said at One year of age milk should not be your baby's main source of nutrition.
