Itanna: Yes you should burp your Baby after every feed especially in the early months. You can also pause her feeds and take her off the breast to burp and then continue. That will reduce the milk pouring out of her mouth as you have described. There are different styles of burping and some are more effective than others depending on who is doing it. See below for 3 different methods. Try each one and see which one works best for you. 9 Likes 2 Shares

mummyjayson: Some people have severe reaction to penicillin so be careful. If there is no risk of infection and it looks like it is healing ok. It is best to leave it. Or go back to your doctor to check it for a second opinion, if only to get your MIL off the case. 1 Like |

2 years 4 months........... That is only 1 month older than my daughter and she can write 1- 87 and A - Q in English, benin, Greek and Russian! Lol!!! , she can't write Jack! Yet! She holds pencil well and all but na abadabidi.... aka jagajaga we still they write! Lol She knows how to recite 1 - 10. Not always in the right order And can sing the abcd song asides from that her identification of the individual numbers or letters na fluke! Even with colours we have phases where one day she is spot on and the next day everything is one colour .... So today, everything you ask her is orange.... next week everything is green! Am I bothered.... nope! I think at that age there are other skills they can learn. And still catch up with academics later on. Bear in mind in some societies formal education does not even start till like 4 or 5 years old. Before that everything is one big song and dance. Personally I think he is still too young for all the extra lessons and pressure. The teacher should ease off oh jare! Children pick up easily on when the adults surrounding them feel they are inadequate, so please she should not start damaging his confidence on top not being able to write 1and 2 from the womb! I won't even start any active teaching or reading lessons till my dd turns 3. 10 Likes |

perfectcrown: Have it assessed by a doctor (may be some one in orthopedics), they will tell you if it is the type that can be simply tied to fall off. if for instance it has a bone structure and for all intents and purposes it is a "normal working" finger, it may be best left alone as tying may likely more harm than good. even if you consider surgery, it will need to be done by a very talented doctor at that. so that the nerves in the hand are not damaged. |

Akorkor: Like Zaynie already said..... Gradual withdrawal .... this worked like a charm for me. Started at 7 months substituting one breast feed with solids and formulae or some expressed milk. . And gradually cutting out night feeds and giving water... By 9 months we were down 3 proper meals a day and very little breast feeding. by 10 months I noticed my dd wasn't fussed with breast perse so I just pack my thing jeje. And went with solids and formular till 12 months and then introduced full cream normal milk. 4 Likes |

zaynie: Lol! All this drama on top food! And country of residence! If one feels they need to put down their country of origin and still have the compulsion to liaise with people from there and show those left behind how "fabulous" their new lives are...... there are deeper unresolved psychological issues. Nigeria is no paradise, can it be loads better...... hell yeah! But we are the people we are because of what we have had to overcome with the cards we are dealth. Generally if you have such hate for your origins you have the choice of cutting everything Nigerian off including online forums such as these. And even your family members as well if you've got the balls for it. Others have done it. It won't be the end of the world. It is absolutely clear that people like that have not reached the level of integration into the foreign societies that they have moved to or they are unable to integrate fully. What ever the case is, the incessant need to re-iterate that you are living "da-life" generally indicates something is lacking! And it also shows a very poor sense of self-esteem (perhaps even an inferiority complex) and a lack of mental and emotional maturity. Some people just cannot handle prosperity. Many fail to understand that prosperity is relative and fluid. It is all well and good coming to make noise and unverifiable claims on social media and internet forums to strangers, if one tries it with the people directly around them.... well thread carefully..... As it is said: "be careful of the toes you step on going up the ladder..... they may be connected to the arses you will be kissing on your way down." Anyways back to reading and salivating mode! Please I need picture of hot puff puff! If I cannot eat it at least let me drool! Those nicely rounded ones, Complete with steam and the right amount of oil sheen! PatKing: Don't waste time with disposable pants. Just get those really cheap cotton grand mama pants they sell as a set of 5 or 6 usually in white, black or shades of cream and beige. They are possibly the same price as the disposables ( or just costs a bit more), fit better and hold the pads more securely, plus you have the option of washing if this not too stained. Just get a size up from your normal pregnancy size. If you are using size 12 trousers for instance, get a size 14 to give allowance as your tummy will still be a bit big. 2 Likes |

Ovems, Babylove01 As I write this I am sat comfortably while my little boss madam snoozes off. When we weaned off night breast feeding and carrying to sleep, I would have to lie with her on the bed ( double bed in the spare room _ Yes she has her own room oh complete with a cot bed and all...... story for another day.) But she used to take FOREVER to sleep . Sometime sef in the middle of cuddle to sleep. The next thing I hear is hubby's voice " are you sleeping too?" So in other to get her to sleep quicker I started backing her........ And it worked like a charm........ she would be out in 5 mins. I get to chill with oga small, finish tidying up and have a bit more of a relaxed evening. Very nice......... ........... but as some little human was nearing 12kg and my back nearly come and break we had to change the routine back. I Kent die! So now we are back to chilling beside her while she finally sleeps, before I sneak off and leave her. What I try to do is to finish most of the evening chores in the kitchen at least before we retire to bed usually by 20:30 - 21:00. I let her run around well beforehand and usually no cartoons after 19:00. We have a bottle of warm milk, kiss everyone goodnight, do a wee in the toilet ( potty training thingz) go to bed, say prayers, read a book (she asks to do another wee trip ). Then I turn off the lights. ( then maybe another wee trip to the toilet to wee a microscopic 2.5ml of wee... ) On a good day we sleep within 20 mins. Some other days .... if you like off the moon join the light! Somepeople eye go still dey shine! - so on such days we have to do cuddle to sleep, plus singing. And she will even start giving you playlist sometimes. Sing....Twinkle star, .....abcb,.... baa baa baa sheep........ Like seriously!!! Even when she sleeps I stay for another 30 or so mins and I usually use the "down time" to catchup on some emails, or do some computer work or crochet or just chill a Bit, gather my own self and thoughts as I have been on a buzz all day. So whilst I still think children that you just carry and put in their beds are fictitious, this routine works for me for now. As she gets older maybe we will EVENTUALLY get to a stage where I can put out the lights and leave the room when she is still awake and my neighbours won't come and break the door asking who is putting pepper in someone's eye. Leesah: First of all How old is he? Most babies can take most normal foods we adults eat except things like maybe honey ( due to botulism) , whole nuts ( choking hazards and where they may be allergies) and where it specifically gives an age range. Just cut back on the salt and spices. For the night feeds, once babies start solids, they really no longer need night nursing. Most of it is long throat! . Start offering him water and perhaps it is also time to move baby to his own bed.... So all the night time feeling for Bobby will eventually stop. It is likely to be a rough week or so. But with babies, persistence is key! 1 Like |

LadySarah: An electric sewing machine should be fine. You may want to just check the power rating of the motor to make sure it is not too high for your generator This is in Watts. (W) For example an iron or other heating equipment can take up to 2000W, a microwave like 1200W. That is why people tend to switch off other items if they want to iron as it takes a lot of power. A sewing machine is around 100 W. So you should be fine. But just check to confirm when you go and buy it. It is part of the information that should be give on the carton or it will be written on a label maybe under the machine that has the model and serial numbers. Other things to check: Number of stitches the sewing machine has. This should include the basic straight stitch, zig zag, Blind hem stitch, elastic stitch, button hole stitches and 1 or 2 decorative stitches. Any attachments it comes with such as machine feets The weight and if it comes with a cover or bag that you can store away easily when not in use or carry really from place to place if required. . 1 Like 1 Share |
