Happy sunday wonderfully made mamas.

Pls i need tips /answers on the following.
1.how to potty train my son. he will be a 1yr and 5months by next month.

Active potty training will not be until 2.5 years when they have better understanding, But for now i would suggest getting a potty and you can start putting him on it regularly so he knows the use. Like first thing in the morning and just before his evening bath.
Doesn't matter if he doesnt use it at first.
Also if he has a poo signal behaivour, once you see him doing it, bolt to the potty and put him on. It will be hit or miss but gradually he will start understanding what the potty is for. Sometimes he will have poo'd small in the nappy, still put him on the potty to finish up.

2.I want to change his milk from peak 123 to ordinary full cream peak. hope it is in order?
Yeah this is fine.

3.is liquid milk good for his age. peak is the only liquid that i know which is full cream, others like three crown, olympic are filled evaporated. which one is better?

I have no idea, i usually only use powdered milk.

4. I cant hear a clear word from him yet. no papa, mama, daddy etc. hope I am safe?
Keep engaging him verbally, reading stories, singing songs and reduce his screen time. If you are still worried, you can go see a developemental specialist.

5. I love you all. My regards to the family.

So sad to read of iyomomo's passing. May God show his love to her family at this difficult time and may His perpertual light shine on her and may she rest in peace.

Let me give some good news to end the evening.

October mamas Cc. Pweetiebabe: update on britneystacy.

Her baby arrived on the 15th. Both baby and mum are doing OK even if a bit overwhelmed. I am sure she would be here soon to submit formal BA and BS. Do keep her in your prayers.

Safe delivery to All. Mother and baby/babies

Goodnight people. God bless.

I know I've asked before but I've forgotten, biko what is the least sweet cereal you know. My baby does not like sugar at all. Is there any cereal that has a sour cheesy or tangy taste or atleast is not too sweet. My mum said I should buy Nutrend cuz it's not too sweet but I haven't seen it in all the shops I've checked, I don't know if they are still selling it in Lagos. please any other suggestions or who knows where I can find nutrend. I cant pack August secrets as her 4 meals at the Creche. cheesy

I know its not hunger, 5 mins is even too much, sometimes one minute and she's off, as if she just wanted to wake me up

I think you can blend rice cripsies, shreddies or weetabix.

No sugar.

Yes they are adult-y cereals but they have only one ingredient and have no added sugar or salts

If you can give pap! These are no different in my opinion.

Evening All,

Giddyperson happy belated birthday....
Zaynie, happy birthday to atinuke, shes so cute.

I have a question...

Is a High feeding chair a luxury or necessity? I feel like I should get one now that my Dd is almost one. So she can use it for mealtimes and for TV times (the TV is hung up and she has to stand in her playpen to watch for now)

All mamas

Sansa143 sorry I was so busy today, cldnt respond to ur question early enough. Hope u r gud now?

For me its a necessity although i dont use it for TV watching. I had 2 - the bumbo seat like MamaOO which we have outgrown and packed up and the type you strap to the dining chair which we still use everyday and have used since she was 7 months. (she is 23 months now)

It has made meal times bearable as i do not have to carry her everytime to feed. Also one of them came with a toy bar so if i need to do stuff in the kitchen like clear up after meals i can leave her in it for a bit longer and have some peace of mind while she plays there.

Both have a table attachement but we use the main dining table now.

For TV watching my dd seats on the sofas. She can climb them herself as well. The tv is also hung high on the wall but i didnt notice any issues with her watching it.

Personally, I also try to discourage her screen time so i wont really go out of my way to make her too comfy infront of the TV. When i put cartoons for her, after 2 hrs i turn it off into something else because i cannot be dragging remote with i konkolo person!. grin grin grin

She also has her rocker which she still uses (sometimes) because it the infant to toddler one. This is in the living room.

just a quick thought... have you considered making Photo props for kids birthdays/ or baby photos? Can be leased out as well for photography sessions

blankets, cushions, flowers, buntings etc. along with the usual hair accessories and bow-ties.

Sorry oh, this may be a stupid question but I've always thought of it, why do you need a flask to be hot for 24 hours? Me I change my water every morning (5am) and breastfeed all night so the last time I use flask water is about 7pm...that's about 14 hours

Is it me that is doing oversabi or keeping hot water for a day is a thing?

Lol!!
the 24hr hotness is not for normal days, when you are home and have access to a kettle. it is for when you are travelling perhaps and are not sure you will get hot water where you are going. so it helps you buy time.

Its like all these deodorants that say 48 hrs protection.. my initial reaction is.... Edakun brother mi..... you no dey baff everyday? lol! but if you look at those adverts properly the people are you usually in some wilderness location doing some action man/ woman moves where you may not have access to a shower for a day or two....

Evening all
I have 2 questions.

For mamas that have weaned their LOs, when did B. Milk stop coming out of ur bo.obs after weaning?

Zara stopped b.feeding 2 weeks ago, but I don't have any engorgement pains after weaning. Do I still need to use cold cabbage in my bra?

All senior mamas

Don't think you need it since you no engorgement.

Mamas pls come to my rescue... I had my baby by CS and didn't attempt beast feeding till two days later but by then it was too late. She had already gotten used to the d formula feed. I tried all I could to force her she will. Just suck fit a little while and stop. I have only manage to squeeze some milk out of my breast d to feed her yesterday and she took it but milk isn't flowing well pls what should I do my baby isn't looking healthy and she is 7days old.

its not too late, i know someone who established breast feeding after 1 month of bottle feeding. Persistence is key.

Keep putting baby to breast, Get a breast pump, and pump in between feed to stimulate production.

Please Dont starve your baby, if she takes bottle continue feeding with either formular or breast milk. then offer breast when baby is not super hungry.

update on your question.

you need to consider the following:

Are you going by private car or public transport. either case i would suggest taking your car seat and paying for an extra seat if going by public transport. if going by public transport, check the seat belts the car seat is to be strapped in to ensure it is not bad, and also learn how to strap the car seat in and do it your self.

How long is the journey and where is the usual half way stop point? I have never been to Ilorin per se, so let me use lagos-benin as an example.
Ore is the half journey point which is about 2 or so hours into the journey so you factor in any breastfeeding and nappy changes to coincide with this time. it is also a good time to stretch and let them get out of the car seat for a bit.

If going by private car, planning stops are easier, public transport is usually trickier but people are usually quite considerate when a small baby is involved.

If you are unable to pay for an extra seat, and if you have a baby carrier - take it! and use it to strap your baby to your self to allow your hands to be free. whilst it is not ideal especially for longer out of journeys you can then use the seat belt on both of you but you may have to hold the straps out of the way abit as it may fall around baby's neck

Also since baby is like 4 months, you can put baby facing out in the carrier, this also allows easier bottle feeding and your baby is able to see what is going on and can be distracted by the journey.

Plan to bottle feed during the car rides in the car seat if required in between. and unless baby poos, any nappy change should take you from lagos to Ore and from ore to Benin.

Also change and feed just before your leave your base.
take at least two clothes changes including vests, and extra bibs and at least a pack of wipes for the journey,

take a big bottle of water as you may need to rinse / wash out stuff,

Take some nylon bags for nappy changes or for soiled clothing.

Hope this helps
