Christianity EtcVatican Expresses ‘concern’ On Trump’s Wall, Travel Ban by Alphasoar(op): 9:08pm On Feb 01, 2017
The Vatican on Wednesday voiced “concern” over President Donald Trump’s executive orders to build a wall on the US-Mexican border and impose a travel ban on nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries.
“Naturally, there is concern,” the Holy See’s number three, Monsignor Angelo Becciu, said on the Catholic TV channel TV2000, in response to a question.
“We are builders of bridges, far less of walls, and all Christians should emphatically reaffirm this message.”
Becciu noted that Pope Francis had repeatedly stressed the need “to integrate those who arrive, who come into our society, into our culture.”
Trump has run into a storm of criticism since signing orders to build an anti-migrant frontier wall with Mexico and temporarily ban nationals from seven countries — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen — for 90 days.

PoliticsAPC Expresses Concern At Shehu Sanni’s ‘grammar’ In Senate by Alphasoar(op): 8:55pm On Feb 01, 2017
By Omeiza Ajayi

ABUJA – The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has expressed concern at the grammatical expressions of one of its senators, Shehu Sani regarding the anti-corruption posture of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Sanni who represents Kaduna Central stated this shortly after a meeting with the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led National Working Committee NWC of the party.

The meeting was called to discuss the interim report the adhoc committee on the humanitarian situation in the North East headed by Mr Sani and which indicted the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
“They (NWC) said the party is not opposed to it (report). I also asked them if the party is opposed to my interim report and they said no and so, I asked what their issues were. They told me that they are worried and concerned each time I fire some grammar in the senate and it shocks and rattles them while destroying the solidarity within the party and they want me to slow down on some of these cruise missiles. I told them that it is either my honour or that of the letter that was sent by the Presidency.
“I did not in any way attack the President, but I faulted the letter based on three issues.
“First, my name was omitted in the letter as Chairman of the Senate adhoc committee. Secondly, the SGF said we did not invite him, but we did invite him and thirdly, the letter said there was no quorum. I told them that in as much as my comments about ‘ deodorant and insecticides’ was rattling, they should have invited the SGF for calling the senate and our report balderdash and they said they were also opposed to that language used by him.
“They said they do not want us to wash our dirty linens in the public and I told them that at the end of the day, even if you wash your dirty linens inside the room, you will still have to dry them outside.
“I made clarifications that they are not opposed to corruption investigations, but they are worried by the missiles I used which is causing a lot of discomfort. I told them I was only using literary expression to send my message.
“When I say deodorant or insecticide, it is a clear definition of the bipolar anti corruption crusade that is going on in the country and I believe that there is the need for Nigerians to wake up to these realities”, he stated.
The senator added that in as much as he did not beg to be appointed into the committee “nobody can stop the probe”.
Sanni, at a Senate plenary had faulted a letter purportedly written by the Presidency to clear Mr Lawal of wrong doing. He allegedly accused President Muhammadu Buhari of using insecticides to fight corruption in the senate while using deodorant to fight corruption in the presidency.
When asked whether the Senate would insist that the SGF must go, he said; “sacking the SGF is not about Shehu Sani, but about the resolution of the senate and what they said is binding on me. If the senate says he should go, I share in that position and if they say he should remain, I share in that position too.
“We are investigating the massive misappropriation of funds for IDPs in the north east. Nobody can stop that. We are determined to do our work and have done an interim report and we are going to come out with the full details after this break and nobody in the party has said he is opposed to it. But I think that their major concern was my grammar.”

PoliticsOpinion: A Likely Thunder! by Alphasoar(op): 11:35am On Jan 31, 2017
Every day presents another opportunity to either Correct yesterday or Continue from yesterday. The power of choice lies in our hands and our ability to go the right direction is a key to landing at our desired destination.
The country has gone through processes which have either bettered or battered it.
Reasonable eyes will discern the truth. We have gone from One Nigeria where there is unison in the voices that are heard, whether political, religious, social or secular to that where we have to keep our ears focused to get out a particular voice which we want to hear and silence the other. The power of choice is still active but not visible.
The voices which have echoed in our ears in times past have been that of
Let’s build Nigeria
Let’s uphold Nigeria
Let’s love Nigeria
Let’s strengthen Nigeria
Lets defend our past heroes’ footprints.
But at this moment can we of a truth say these voices are still singing same choruses up until now or a bitter cry is been heard from all quarters?
Can you tell yourself the truth that you haven’t heard the voices change to that of . . .
Sell Nigeria to buy bread – we are hungry?
Divide Nigeria to have peace – we are too many?
Mortgage Nigeria and feed the elite – the status quo must continue?

Every honest person has heard these voices roar. Then where did we all get it wrong. By ‘we’, I mean everyone is among. I believe there is a level where you endure a thing and wish to liberate yourself by whatsoever means possible. In our country here, every corner you enter you must find a visibly aggressive opposition. The political class has got them. The religions around have all got them. The elite class has them in great number. The business class has them and the youths who are ‘the future’ have them as well.

We got it all wrong as a nation when we selfishly tried to enrich ourselves. I don’t say, enriching ourselves just in finances. There are other forms of selfishness that have engulfed us. The finance that belonged to the citizenry has been siphoned for personal and family gains by our political class. Consumable goods have been adulterated to the latter by our business class to make huge money and that is selfishness. Our religions have focused on church membership and growth neglecting the other aspects of human development and welfare and I tell you that is selfishness.

If members of a particular church are all living fine, dealing with minimal worries, then getting membership would not be a tug of war and same to the mosques we have. We can have our nation back if we will surrender our self will, drop selfishness, and accept our individual and collective differences. See it like this – I am not better than him! – We are not better than them!
Some ‘hard’ statements have been accredited to some religious leaders and some are wittingly pleading for pardon for making such utterances while others have stood by their words and are daring themselves of breakfast-launch-dinner at one of the maximum prisons.

But I say that if negative events which we see around us are not curtailed, then more defiant utterances will be made and we are sure going to find that the prisons we have will not be enough to accommodate all them voices. How do you push a child and ask the child not to either run or fall? In our corners, I believe we should maintain peace but not for stupidity in silence especially trying so hard to accept our religious differences. We could possibly cite references from some holy books triggering destruction of lives and property to bring others to subjection and thus dominate them. No! – such teachings are bad and condemnable. I believe in cause of protecting our national interest and peace, everyone has right to defend himself which attacked. A religion preaches mental capturing and another, physical and brutal subjugation. If we cannot handle such issues as this, a likely thunder may strike and upon every roof it will.

Seeing and observing all these, shouldn’t we then CORRECT our yesterday, or shall we CONTINUE in our yesterday with unending and unattainable hopes of a better tomorrow? Until selfishness and ‘better than them attitude’ in every area of our lives is killed and buried, then our nation is never bound to rise.

Foreign AffairsTrump Administration Moves To List The Muslim Brotherhood As Terrorist Group by Alphasoar(op): 10:53pm On Jan 29, 2017
By Mark Hosenball | WASHINGTON
A debate is under way in the Trump administration about whether the United States should declare the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization and subject it to U.S. sanctions, according to U.S. officials and people close to President Donald Trump's transition team.
A faction led by Michael Flynn, Trump's National Security Advisor, wants to add the Brotherhood to the State Department and U.S. Treasury lists of foreign terrorist organizations, the sources said.
"I know it has been discussed. I'm in favor of it," said a Trump transition advisor, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the issue.
The advisor said Flynn's team discussed adding the group to the U.S. list of terrorist groups but said it was ultimately unclear when or even if the administration ultimately would go ahead with such a move.
Other Trump advisors, as well as many veteran national security, diplomatic, law enforcement and intelligence officials argue the Brotherhood has evolved peacefully in some countries, according to officials and people close to Trump's entourage.
They worry that a U.S. move to designate the entire Brotherhood a terrorist group would complicate relations with Turkey, a key American ally in the fight against Islamic State, and where the Islamist-rooted AKP Party that dominates the Turkish government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is in power. Tunisia's Islamist Ennahda Party has also participated in democratic elections.
The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, the country's oldest Islamist movement, was designated as a terrorist organization in that country in 2013.
It is not clear which faction within the U.S. administration has the upper hand, and Senator Ted Cruz and Representative Mario Diaz-Balart this month introduced legislation to add the Brotherhood to the terrorist list.
There was no immediate comment from the White House.

MIXED RECORD
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates among others have designated the group on their terrorist lists, and Trump's nominee for Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, described the Brotherhood an "an agent of radical Islam", during his Senate confirmation hearing.
U.S. criminal law prohibits people in the United States from knowingly providing "material support" to designated terrorist organizations, and members of such groups are banned from entering the United States. Some conservative and anti-Muslim activists have argued for years that the Brotherhood, which was founded in Egypt in 1928 and sought to establish a worldwide Islamic caliphate by peaceful means, has been a breeding ground for terrorists.
Some branches of the Brotherhood, including the Palestinian group Hamas, have engaged in anti-government violence and provoked violent government reactions. Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda, was once a member of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.
Other offshoots in Turkey and Tunisia have forsworn violence and come to power by democratic means. Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed Mursi became Egypt's first freely elected president in June 2012 in the aftermath of the ousting of long-time ruler Hosni Mubarak. An army takeover stripped Mursi of power in 2013 following mass protests against his rule. Hundreds of Islamists have since been killed and arrested.
Sisi and Trump spoke by phone this week and the two leaders discussed ways to boost the fight against terrorism and extremism.
A U.S. official who declined to be identified told Reuters there had been discussions at the State Department which looked at intelligence and information on the group in which it was thought "it would be difficult to justify legally, in terms of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, to meet the criteria".
"It's one thing to say one group's ideology has been used to influence a terrorist organization and another thing to say that this group is a terrorist organization," said the U.S. official.
Following the Sept. 11, 2001, al Qaeda attacks on the United States, the George W. Bush administration launched investigations into the Brotherhood and related Islamist movements.
After years of investigations, however, the U.S. and other governments, including Switzerland's, closed investigations of the Brotherhood leaders and financial group for lack of evidence, and removed most of the leaders from sanctions lists.
A British government review into Egypt's outlawed Muslim Brotherhood published in December 2015 concluded that membership of or links to the political group should be considered a possible indicator of extremism but stopped short of recommending that it should be banned.

HealthDiscussing Diabetes by Alphasoar(op):
Today we are going to be talking about Diabetes. Diabetes as we all know is one of the fastest killing diseases in Africa and as well as the world.

There is type 1 and type 2 diabetes but we will be treating the term diabetes without the types because if you can be able to prevent the disease you might as well avoid the types. Type 1 is mostly common with children and teenagers while the other is a tormentor to the grownups – the adults. What is Diabetes? It is that ailment we have been made to believe comes as a result of excess sugar intake. If you drink that carbonated drink two times a day, you will surely get diabetes and ……..``
That is what they will tell us. That is a false truth I must admit. It has an element of truth. Diabetes is a disease in which there is an excessive presence of sugar in the blood. Typically the reason, why people take to their heels when they are presented with food that is got sugar in it. But in the reality what causes this ailment is the inhibition, insufficiency or absence of a typical hormone in the body that controls the uses and presence of glucose in the body.

When we eat food into body with sugar thereby increasing the level of sugar in the body, the pancreas which is located at the back of the stomach release a hormone called insulin. Insulin acts as director of sugar activities. When release, it tries to keep the sugar in check by aiding the intake of it into the muscles and cells. Sugar is a source of energy to the body. Absence therefore leads to fatigue. The disadvantage of excess intake of sugar is obesity and not diabetes. When one is obese, there is a high risk of having the disease of diabetes. Why? Because obesity inhibits the activities of insulin in the system!
Factors that can increase ones risk of having diabetes are:

1. Family background. If a parent or both parents have diabetes, the chances are high that the children will have to battle the disease. Early test is key to overcoming it to a ‘minimal’ level. From the chart above, when one is diagnosed with diabetes, he lives with it for life. It is a disease that cannot be totally cured but it could be managed and controlled throughout out one’s lifetime.

2. Obesity. Obesity is a leading cause of the ailment. Obesity like I mentioned earlier inhibits the actions of insulin on sugar in the system.
This could be overcome by minimizing the level of sugar intake. Obesity is a disease of inactivity. Therefore to get out of it, one must be engaged with activities such as exercising which could in turn help to burn the fats and cut carbohydrate intake by about 60%.

3. High blood pressure. This could possibly cause diabetes. You should keep your blood pressure in check always. Visiting the Doctor regularly for check up and tests is highly recommended.

Diabetes is a fast killing disease of which experts have warned that by the year 2020, adults in the sub Saharan region of about 70% are at risk of battling with among other disease such as cancer.
These ailments have not got a permanent cure which means ones gotten, it stays for life but can be managed and/or controlled. Therefore early detection is key to surviving it. Visit your doctor regularly as from now especially if you notice any of these symptoms:

1. Blurred vision

2. Frequent urination

3. Excessive hunger

4. Losing weight as well as gaining weight

5. Itching skin (a bad effect of diabetes which oftentimes leads to skin peeling off at later time)

6. Loosing strength Spread the word to your love ones especially your enemies for them to be conscious of this ailment and treat accordingly.

Live healthy!

Know your Status!!

Happy Soaring!!!

InvestmentHow To Succeed During The Recession: Act Like An Entrepreneur by Alphasoar(op): 10:12pm On Jan 28, 2017
By: Peggy Klaus
Anxiety is running rampant: anxiety about job security (or lack thereof), about the current economic climate, about the future of the country, and even the world. You probably don't need a career coach to point out the obvious and tell you that when it comes to surviving this slowdown, the old rules no longer apply. The reality is that our economy is undergoing a major sea change and we must change with it if we don't want to drown. That's why resting on your pre-economic crisis laurels won't keep you afloat.
So how do you make yourself stand out in today's unprecedented environment? Start off by reframing the way you view your position. Prior to the recession, you may have given little thought to the company's bottom line, unless doing so was part of your job description. Nowadays, keeping the company's bottom line on the top of your mind is vital to job security. Make certain you are seen as someone who brings in clients or sales, who finds solutions to problems, and who constantly looks for ways to make the company more efficient. Act as if it's your own business, even if it's not. In other words, think of yourself as an entrepreneur!
I think most business owners would agree that one of the hardest aspects of being out on their own is having to promote their company and themselves on a moment's notice. But the successful ones know that pitching a prospective client or venture capitalist, talking to a journalist, and spreading the word about the company to family, friends, or even the guy mowing his lawn down the street are the surest ways to maximize exposure without spending a dime. So whether you are looking for a job or trying to keep the one you already have, think like an entrepreneur and learn to promote your most valuable product— you !
Here are some tips for getting started on your self-promotion campaign:
Tooting Isn’t Just for Performance Reviews. When it comes to learning how to self-promote effectively, you need to be ready 24/7 anytime, anywhere, for anyone. The opportunities are going to come your way when you least expect them: when you’re riding in the elevator with the CEO, attending a neighbor’s barbeque, sitting next to someone at a conference, standing in line at the grocery store, or waiting for a plane. Now more than ever you need to be prepared not just for those scheduled situations at work, but also for times when you weren’t expecting to be "on." Start by creating what I call your brag bag—a running tab of all the information about your best self that can be easily accessed when you need it. Write down all of your “brag bites”—the situations when you took initiative, solved problems, found better ways to accomplish tasks, or generated solutions, especially to problems that no one else wanted to handle or acknowledge.
Convert Brag Bites into Bragologues. Weave your brag bites into several bragologues—short, upbeat stories about you and your accomplishments—suited for a variety of potential circumstances and audiences. Read each version out loud several times until you can rattle it off without even thinking. Ask yourself: Am I showcasing myself in a way that demonstrates what effect I have on the bottom line? Am I demonstrating my versatility? Am I expressing my attributes in a way that is colorful and interesting? If you think your boss or a hiring manager might react to your bragologue with a resounding, "So what," then start from the beginning again.
You’re Only As Good As Your Last Movie. Just as in Hollywood—where what matters most is the movie you just made, not the one from 10 or 20 years ago—what you’ve done most recently at work is what counts. That’s why it’s so important to keep your self-promotion campaign up to date by constantly refueling your brag bag. Be sure to measure your success in tangible and specific outcomes, such as, "By analyzing our insurance costs and switching us to an umbrella policy, I cut our yearly insurance premium in half"; or, "By networking on industry message boards and LinkedIn, I booked five new high-profile clients this month."
Think of Yourself as a Cereal Brand. A brand is a promise—implied or explicit—of the value offered. Your brand—whether carefully crafted or left to chance—determines what will pop to mind when others think about you. Unlike a cereal brand, you don’t have a
marketing department to run the campaign! So the job of crafting your personal brand falls on you. As you develop your bragologues, think carefully about what you want others to be feeling and thinking about Brand You.
Use On-Line Networking Sites to Reinforce Your Brand. More and more recruiters and hiring parties are using LinkedIn and other on-line networking sites to search for job candidates or to learn about an individual prior to a meeting. Make sure your profile is always professional and portrays your brand the way you intend. Online venues are also a great place to test your bragologues. If you’re not getting the response you want, tweak your story.
Believe in Yourself, or No One Else Will. I am not asking you to just act as if you are invaluable to the company’s bottom line. I am asking you to truly become invaluable by thinking big, seeking out opportunities to contribute, and using every opportunity to take initiative. You’ll be amazed by what a can-do attitude, a great bragologue, enthusiasm, and the belief that you can do it will accomplish.

Foreign AffairsCalifornia Announces Plan To Secede From The USA by Alphasoar(op): 9:34pm On Jan 28, 2017
New York – California has announced a proposal, called “Calexit” that would establish it as a separate nation from the U.S., officials have said.

The proposal for California to secede from the U.S. was submitted to the Secretary of State’s Office on Thursday, according to a report.

The proposed “Calexit” initiative was a name borrowed from the UK’s “Brexit” departure from the EU.

“Calexit” would ask voters to repeal part of the state constitution that declares California an inseparable part of the U.S.

A recent poll found that one in three California residents would support a possible secession from the U.S. due to their opposition to President Donald Trump, according to the proposal.

No mention has been made of the president in the proposal.

If the proposal qualifies for the ballot and is approved by voters, it could be a step to a future vote on whether the state would break away from the rest of the nation.
Secretary of State Alex Padilla said the group behind the proposal, ‘Yes California Independence Campaign’, was cleared to begin attempting to collect nearly 600,000 voter signatures needed to place the plan on the ballot.
“In our view, the United States of America represents so many things that conflict with Californian values.
“And our continued statehood means California will continue subsidising the other states to our own detriment, and to the detriment of our children,” the Yes California Independence Campaign’s website says.

Many a times supremacy over life's issues is largely dependent on how we see them, how we magnify them and how we occupy our thoughts with their comparisms.
Life difficulties and challenges will surely arise and if you are really sure of your destination in the nearest future, your prayer is not going to be that of avoidance but faith to fight through. There are times we are faced with new challenges (situations we haven't been through all our life), and this is after a not-long-ago solved challenges. This challenges is not really because there are millitators against your success but because 'you have just made a process'. If you see them as limitation and not as stepping stones, you are not going to hurt your progress because instead of going back to the drawing board to map out solutions, you will go back to recount your sorrows and past challenges which will never boost your ego to succeed but weigh you down on your knees. And you know what people who are brought on their knees do - they remember prayer. To them prayer is the last resort and that is where their perpetual failure starts because only prayer without plans is an open invitation to more problems such as depression and negative thoughts.
Moving Forward . . .
This requires a not regular approach, which is #SeeNoLimits. Do not try to see your problems or challenges before you see yourself. It brings negative self comparisms. See yourself first through the eyes of God. Moving forward is good and rewarding.
How To Move Forward . . .
The G factor is formost. Discover the place of God in your forthcoming success story. Many fail trying to do it alone. When you go to your drawing board, your face is met with a hard board, a thick paper and a strong pen. There is need to wet these materials. And been truthful to ourselves we will discover that there is not a single liquid that could be used in the wetting process apart from Prayer. The sweat from your burdened heart for success that flows through your body in payer is all you need to wet your planning materials first and thereby giving God the license to act on your plans before you.
+++prayerfully make your plans!
+++prayerfully work on your plans!
+++prayerfully dedicate yourself to accomplishing your plans.
Another thing on this 'How Process' is understanding your values. Value yourself more than your goals and plans because without you been there the plans are not going to be a reality. How do you enjoy your success if you are not there to see it come to reality. Therefore with such kind of value you put on yourself, when challenges you will find yourself, through God, bigger than them.
In a baby year of 2017, #SeeNoLimits.
Make Progress!
Achieve More!
