TheMan3: hmmm since you are white, it gets more tricky. Everyone will want to extort you. One more question, does your passport Have visa free access to these countries? Or can you get visa at the border?
I don't think you would have problem at the Benin and Togo side. I've seen whites crossing that border before the same way. But my concern will be in the Ghana side. You know Togo border is not open so you can't stamp out. But Ghana border is open, but you can't stamp in because you came In unofficially. Ghanaian immigration are sometimes not friendly to foreigners.
As for the northern Togo and Benin borders, I've never been there so I don't know.
If it's adventure you are looking for, you are sure going to have lots of it
But if you want to avoid all these, just go by air, one hour you are in Ghana. By road, the journey is at least, 18hours.
Nicely put. Thanks for the deep insights.

TheMan3: if you take the ferry to badagry, it's more because of the bad roads and safety reason not because of the check points. There are about 41 check point from badagry to seme border. Infact checkpoints actually starts from badagry. But I will still advise you take the boat though since you are a foreigner.
You should be able to cross the Nigerian border into Benin with no stress.
As for Togo, it's very very easy to pass unofficially. Take a taxi from seme to Togo, it usually costs arround 15,000cfa. The driver will do all the bribe on your behalf. You will not even need to get out of the car. Secondly, when you get to the Ghana border, you will have to take a bike accross the border through the bush part because you can't stamp your passport out of Togo because Togo border is not yet open. But don't worry it's safe.
Thirdly, when you get to Ghana, take a taxi to Accra, it's usually arround 80cedis. But pay the driver extra so he can do the settlement on the road on your behalf. It's not much just negotiate with him.
Fourthly, Welcome to Accra
But one last question, are you white or black? If you are black all these will be very easy because you can just blend in. But if you are white, you money will definitely be higher because they think you are automatically a millionaire lol
Better to just fly into Kotoka Airport and save time.
Righteousness2: When GOD wants to destroy a nation, HE gives them a leader that will suite the Destruction.
Biden was specially selected for this task of bringing about the Collaspe and Destruction of Nomerica the former America.
Transport secretary, abomination! Press secretary, abomination! General in army , non binary!
What a Colossal Fall of a Nation built on Godly principles.
Nomerica aka Mystery Babylon is Fallen!
Wrong!
America was never founded on any so-Godly principles.
The horrendous slave trade was used to build the Colonies pre-industrial revolution, and the decimation (and dislocation of the Native-American tribes from their original lands into dry reservations) does not show any Godly principles. Period.
sukkot: well the point here is that they are both dangerous countries that need to wipe each other out for the planet to breath. :DI will check that book out. cheers buddy
@sukkot, I just grabbed the direct download link of the full 335-page hard copy book in pdf for you. If you have absolutely no issues reading on a mobile device or PC... Here's the link below:
sukkot: fresh if you are living with your parents and not working. people who work in england are not fresh. i have seen more fresher nigerians in nigeria than in london. only the youth are fresh over there because they have not been thrust into the rat race yet. in terms of happiness ? only the youth who are not working are happy there. once you start working in engand you get depression. it is the depression capital of the world
Yup! Right now, some UK families cannot even afford basic heating in their homes. The rise in inflation within the last 2 years has eroded personal income big time.
Only those with recession-proof sources of income will enjoy these headwinds.
sukkot: i dont know bro I would pick russia over the usa anyday.you have to look at a peoples history to know their future. the USA has invaded over 100 countries since the second world war while Russia is the one always fightng for the invaded countries and secretly supplying them weapons. i dont know bro I pick russia anyday. Russia does not have expansionist or colonial ideas like the USA, what russia is dong is securing its territory. all the countries it is invading where once part of russia so its not like he is invading foreign countries. its like you have a son who was snatched from you and now you want him back and you dont want him to form a misguided alliance with the bully that kidnapped him USA on the other hand have crossed continents to invade countries and topple their leaders. thats who you trust ?
Aha!
Sukkot, I like your insights and perspectives here... Multi-dimensional. Russia initially promised NOT to invade Ukraine after amassing thousands of troops and military equipment at the land border with Ukraine (but some of us who have studied historic cycles weren't fooled by that).
The Soviets (Russia) too invaded Afghanistan in the 1980s and got bogged down there till they left that country. It was in Afghanistan that America first collaborated with Osama (to fight Russia) who then turned round to launch horrendous attacks on American interests using Sudan as a base.
I've read a book entitled the "Rogue State" detailing the past American misadventures in foreign lands. It was incidentally written by the late William Blum an American. You have to read the book if you haven't. You will be able to get a free version of the book in pdf version online these days.
elantraceey: I don't know the kind of mind you people have oo... Rescuing snake and keeping pictures as you progress, omooo.
That was how I saw one very long and big one that just swallowed something moving majestically on the road on my way back home in the village I did my youth service in Anambra state. The way I screamed and ran only to run into an indigene that told me it's harmless and they don't touch and excorted me to walk pass the other side of road and the creature was still minding it's own business. The initial fright I felt when I sighted it cannot be forgotten.
LMAO... . "Serves" you right @Elantraceey... and hey, your vivid description of the event cracked me up here. "I could literally see your "spirit" jumping right out of your brown skin, and calling on Osanobua." Lol.
Did you know that they worship snakes or river pythons in that area and never kill them? I remember reading a few years back that if a stranger mistakenly kills a harmless python (they call it 'eke') in those Ibo villages, heavy financial penalties and rituals would be made to appease their gods.
May your path to success now (in 2022) and down the road not be impeded by "big and long pythons."
Jakumo: This highly enlightened reply is appreciated AlphaTaikun. It is encouraging to hear from a Nairaland writer who comprehends the tenuous existential predicament in which the world finds itself today. A nuclear exchange of any magnitude no matter how small will decimate civilizations on every continent with radioactive fallout, inflicting cataclysmic climate upheaval, while bequeathing irreparably poisoned land and oceans on future generations of the few survivors that remain after the worst case scenario has occurred.
This doomsday nightmare is more probable today than it has ever been since the Bay of Pigs incident during the 1960s when the USA and Russia came to within a hair's breadth of launching intercontinental ballistic nuclear missile salvos at one another, to in essence eradicate all viable life forms on this fragile planet for the rest of all time. Mad Vlad Putin's rash, impulsive, and genocidal war in Ukraine serves somber notice to the world that Putin is now clinically insane, with the real potential to do the unthinkable by instigating a full-scale nuclear exchange with NATO countries.
For the human race to survive going forward along the trajectory of time, Mad Vlad Putin MUST be terminated with extreme prejudice as soon as is humanly possible, and before it is simply too late.
Very well said @Jakumo.
I like your referencing of the "Bay of Pigs" incident here to give an elevated perspective to this ongoing horrendous Ukraine war.
Thank goodness that we have solid international affairs commentators here on NL like you and @Sukkot (just to mention a few). I saw how at the start of this thread, some chaps threw jabs and made jest of your unintended mix-up in the nation of the President above who had a meeting with Putin, and I liked your balanced reply to them. You seemed like you were having a good time while replying them. Lol.
A lot of younger, ignorant commentators here think this is simply a Ukraine/NATO/EU versus Russia war, and they trivialize the issues.
We are talking of a man called Putin with cancer and neurological illness (with the usual irritability, forgetfulness, and hand tremors, etc.), and some here are busy posting that this is a European war... When in reality, "Ogbeni Vladolf Putin" can just out of irritability over a trivial incident, press the button in his briefcase while aboard the Russian "Doomsday" airplane and BOOM! He nukes major EU cities and Continental USA with commensurate nuke attacks on Russia as well by the Western allies.
Back in the day (late 2000s) here on NL, we had largely solid comments on specifics though. Granted that the U.S. has not been clean in terms of its foreign policy over the last 100 years, I still prefer the U.S. over China and Russia in terms of the use of "soft power" and global Super Power ascendancy.
China and Russia would misuse any opportunity to bully weaker countries in the absence of U.S.A or the UK, etc, IMHO.
Thanks again for the insights on the Putin hand tremor videos.
Jakumo: Well, well, well. What a difference a day makes. Now we know that mad Vlad Putin is in fact about to join his ancestors via a horrible prolonged death from Stage 4 pancreatic cancer compounded with Alzheimer's Disease.
To the scholars in the house who got so upset and distraught over my earlier misidentification of Luthechenko as the Baale of Burkina Faso, please accept my due apologies, and then kindly check the link I have provided for your perusal above.
Got breast Antarctica.
@Jakumo, thanks for the feedback you gave to my NL post over an hour ago. A great thread you have here.
I have a close family member too who has tremors and that leg shuffling, but thanks to advanced medical tech, there's a final cure for Parkinson's in the U.S., Canada and a few Western nations. Alzheimer's too will regress due to recent trends in stem cell medicine.
This leaves us with the strange stage 4 cancer that "Vladolf" Putin allegedly has. This is a double whammy and has NO cure at stage 4!
I always knew that Putin's actions over Ukraine were not normal and logical and just like you, I share your concerns about this dude using the nuclear bombs before he passes on. My fam is spread all over North America, England and Nigeria, so getting hit by nukes would be the ultimate Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD).
The "nuclear winter" fallout would also affect countries not directly hit by nuclear bombs. Cancer cases would rise and folks would painfully beg to die due to the intense pain.
I just hope Putin and his close goons get taken out soon to save the global economy from hyper-inflation and imminent social unrests.
GreatAdvice: Inside sources have revealed that Putin has stage IV pancreatic cancer and advanced parkinson. This man has maybe 3 months to live. The sad thing is, his war with Ukraine is nothing but a suicide mission that will eventually involve NATO and possibly lead to a nuclear holocaust. His days are numbered on earth and he wants the whole world to die with him.
A leaked CIA memo showed that putin was exposed to a lethal dose of radioactive polonium. Same document speculated that one of his close oligarchs may have poisoned him which resulted in cancerous cells metastasizing to his pancreas. This is the very reason why Putin sits on a 20 foot long table when meeting with world leaders.
I will advise all Nigerians living in Europe to relocate back to Nigeria ASAP. Once the nukes start dropping in Europe, you will have no chance whatsoever.
Stage 4 cancer? That's strange.
It should have been detected and treated earlier by his close medical team... Except Putin hid his alleged ailment from his medical team.
The categories given to the distinct periods of ancient Ife’s artistic production center around the paving of the city’s courtyards and passageways with terracotta bricks sometime around 1000 A.D., marking the beginning of Ife’s Pavement period.
This practice is thought to be associated with the urbanization of Ife.
The origin of the pavement is explained in a popular story: according to Yoruba mythology, Queen Oluwo ordered the construction of the pavements when her robes were muddied in the dirt.
A centre of political and religious power, Ife has been a formidable city-state through much of the second millennium A.D. The flowering of Ife art coincided with the commercial expansion of the neighboring city-state of Oyo, a strategically placed trading centre, that channeled goods coming down the Niger River from the Songhai empire to Ife and other centers. The aesthetic style developed during the Pavement period of Ife art has been an ongoing influence in Yoruba sculptural styles since its inception. ...
''Ile-Ife is the most ancient Yoruba city, and is still venerated today by the Yoruba as their main cultural and religious center. It's practically a holy city. You may know of Ile-Ife due to its highly sophisticated terracotta and bronze castings, but did you know that the city had a complex system of paved roads? Evidently, an oral tradition concerning the distinguished Yoruba ruler Ono Olowo, apparently she was walking around the capital when her regalia was splattered with mud. Very upset, the Queen ordered the construction of pavements around all of the public and religious places of Ife(courtyards, shrines), made of ceramic tiles from pots. A quote concerning how potsherd pavements are created:
How The Pavements Were Built
''The pathway or courtyard to be paved would be prepared by leveling the ground. The potsherds were then prepared by breaking them into pieces. The soil was then well-kneaded to make for a good sub-base providing the working platform. The soil base was mixed with residual water from the palm-oil industry and left to ferment for two to three days. In the absence of residual water from the palm-oil base, the soil was mixed with palm-oil. Where there was no palm-oil, the soil was left to ferment longer, say, one-week. Mixing the soil with palm-oil was done to provide uniform heating when the pavement was being "baked'.
After the base was prepared, the potsherds were then stuck into the prepared soil and then arranged into whatever design was desired, be it herringbone or straight-row design. The pavement was then left to dry out before being "baked". In the baking process, dry wood and shrubs were packed on top of the pavement and set on fire''''.

Oldoinyolengai: Thanks for correction. My English ought to be somehow challenging, We rarely use English language in this side, so bear my writings with kind.
No wonder Zainab said she didn't get justice because the police and hotel officials were all speaking Swahili with a smattering of English.
She took pictures of the hotel staff and the Russian couple who lodged in the hotel and they too corroborated what happened to Zainab so this is not a scam! Period.
