Hitler never defeated the UK. Infact, UK stood up to Germany while Hitler and Stalin were initially both axis powers and on the same side.
You're very smart for spotting that big lie and schooling that dude! I can't understand why people like posting false info like that without reading up on world history.
Even Dr. Tai Solarin (the founder of the popular May Flower School, Ikenne, Ogun State) was a trained pilot in the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the defence and Battle of London. He was studying in England then when WW2 started in 1939, and eventually married Sheila Solarin, OBE, (his British wife who followed him back to Nigeria).
The British faced severe air raids and bombings from Germany but never got defeated under the able leadership of Sir. Winston Churchill and the gallant RAF pilots of the Spitfire fighter planes and more.
ETHICALLYrlght: The flutterwave chronicle is the biggest exposé of the Nigerian Fintech space that is saturated with founders whose backgrounds and antecedence do not corroborate their sudden success narratives.
If you didn't read David Hundeyin's publication, my summary is as follows:
1. The villain of the story was an influential Access Bank staff who used Access Bank's name and identity to secure investment for his flutterwave startup. Moral Lesson: I do not blame entrepreneurs like Dangote who hire many Indian professionals in management.
2. The same villain reneged on his agreement with one of the foremost employees and executive of the firm regarding an important oral shareholding agreement. Moral Lesson: Always write down and sign every agreement even with family.
3. The same villain employed the counsel who was holding brief for the aggrieved ex-employee at the National Industrial Court. The counsel abandoned the claimant and represented the defendant. Moral Lesson: The Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners in Nigeria prohibits a counsel from representing an opponent in a particular case. There are no rules when money is involved in Nigeria.
4. The same villain sexually abused another employed victim for years and proceeded to influence her new employer after she left flutterwave. Moral Lesson: We should support our girls, sisters, daughters and nieces! They are endangered even in the most formal and literate spaces in this country .
5. The same villain sells stocks valued at $20 for less than $4 behind closed doors. Moral Lesson: You're a sheep if you still think that forces of demand and supply determine prices at the stock exchange and money market. Prices are controlled by mafias.
I hope one day we'll comprehend how young men whose start-ups have less than half-a-million apps download on both APPLE Store and Google Play Store were able to dash Big Brother Naija 2billion Naira as headline sponsors
Flutterwave is a "unicorn" tech coy with foreign investors, so it is not a wholly Nigerian tech coy. The company can afford to sponsor specific projects within it's finances.
Second, the issue of individual morality cuts across all strata of existence regardless of race. The Indians and/or Chinese for example may seem to have high work-ethics, but for decades now, I've observed that even their societies are not immune to fraud.
Third, insider trading happens in Western and Asian countries too so this isn't new. It's the country-specific regulatory agencies that would have to detect and punish all cases of insider trading.
Tinubuadvocate: Mr oladejo this is your opinion keep it to yourself nobody send you message. The president and cabals that trying to cause fight between two brothers are just deceiving themselves. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is bigger than them .
Anyway we shall meet in primary election not too far at all vice president is just a prodigal son he will definitely come back home, but till then I stand with man of people Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2023 no shaking.
You did well by cautioning Oladejo who is quite eloquent and I've heard him speak once in an online interview.
Was any document signed between PYO and BAT not to contest the primaries?
If there is non then Oladejo and the rest of the guys attacking PYO have NO right to do so.
The perception a lot of folks in the Diaspora and Nigeria are beginning to have after seeing the HATE speech and outbursts from BAT supporters is that you folks are power-hungry people... it's disgusting and repulsive!
beylinko02: Really? There is no extent that these people won't go to defame this man.
This is just the beginning, more will still come. PYO has what it takes in character, intellect to withstand your assaults.
That outburst from the usually eloquent Oladejo and BAT agents was very careless and unwise. Everybody has the prerogative to contest for elective positions.
WoundedLamb: To get media attention? This one is hard for me to wrap my head around. This guy has had the spotlight since he was a kid. He was in the middle of a very successful show. What kind of attention was he seeking?
phemmyfour: Imagine, trying to divide SW....Lagos is far developed than Ogun State that has represented yorubas more than any other part of the region
90% of the total landmass of Lagos State was carved out of what is now Ogun State (then in Western Region) on May 27, 1967 by General Yakubu Gowon for the indigenes.
Ijebuland and Aworiland extend from Ogun State to Lagos State showing that they are the same people only separated by two state borders. Osinbajo's mother is even from Ejigbo in Osun State! Tinubu's parents are originally from Iragbiji in Osun though the brilliant technocrat and chartered accountant (BAT) grew up on Lagos Island.
The former Lagos State Governor under Awolowo's UPN, Alhaji Abdulateef Jakande was also born on Lagos Island but his parents were from Omu Aran in Kwara State. His parents had migrated to Lagos Island years back! Yet the people of Lagos accepted him since he is Yoruba and had distinguished himself. So Ishaq Akintola has to calm down. Lol.
Ikeja, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki, Epe, Isolo, Oshodi, Ilupeju, Agege, Mushin, Ipaja, Orile Iganmu, Badagry, Amuwo Odofin, etc, were all located in the Western Region (towns and areas under Chief Obafemi Awolowo's government of Action Group) before being merged with Lagos Island and Ikoyi Island areas to form Lagos State on May 27, 1967.
SMH... VP Yemi Osinbajo and other Yoruba leaders should meet Ishaq Akintola to re-assure him that the Muslim ummah do not have any thing to be concerned about.
He is just being a bit paranoid and should be calmed down. Nothing must destroy the unity of Yorubas who have always had family members of different religious paths living in near-absolute peace, but for the school hijab incidents which is the right of a Muslim woman. In the Western world, the Sikhs and Muslims have been given rights to wear their head gears and hijabs at work, etc.
Negotiation skills and emotional intelligence will enable everyone to have tolerance for others people's views.
JusCuri0us: Please put on home page. Nigerians must know about this growing xenophobia against them in the US.
Are you just knowing this?
Go and read up on the AA group called ADOS. They came up with very ridiculous claims on African immigrants in the U.S. Nigerian-Americans are NOT spared here from the covert and overt hate.
macof: Wats all this? Is it not the Lagos I know and grew up in? Edo descendants are present among the Awori (these lineages have become Awori themselves) doesn't mean Edo ruled lagos
PoliteActivist: The pastor's wife's name is Ifeanyi?? It's like saying a husband's name is Funke
First off, Ifeanyi Adefarasin's late Professor of Medical Pathology father hailed from one of the ogbes (or quarters) in Asaba, Delta State while her biological mother Gina Mordi is a German-born (white) who gave birth to 6 girls for him.
Ifeanyi seems to be a "unisex" name used in the Iboid-speaking parts of Delta State, so yeah, I've read of women who have this name.
In Delta North (Asaba, and other towns), the title Ogbueshi is used instead of Ogbuefi which is used more east of the River Niger.
Oh, so he is Sarah Boulos' son. The popular Lebanese-Nigerian Boulos family members have been in business in Nigeria and West Africa for several decades.
I remember back in the day, they were one of the first and topmost importers of vehicle and motorbike spare parts.
Orikinla: Poster, I can see that you are ignorant of the facts and those who are well informed replied you accordingly. There are over 1000 active members of golf clubs in Nigeria. I started playing golf as a caddie until I switched to tennis and finally ended up in Karate. I love golf. But Nigerians elites make it a big deal. You have to join any of the clubs before you can have access to play golf. I still report golf on my Nigerian Times and The Guardian newspaper is the number news media reporting golf in Nigeria.
Word.
You have to be recommended by an existing due-paying member in order to join a golf club and gain access to a golf course.
Cargoed: The sooner you come to reality the better for you. How many people are buying Brent price of $20now. Crude price is now Negative. What does that mesn? If you are an oil company you have to pay a buyer to take it and store it for you. That's why it's technically Usd0.01 No body is buying bonnylight or forcados. Nigeria will have to pay for someone to take it and store for them hence the negative price. If not the Oil companies will shut down and declare bankrupt. leave your computer and visit Texas or Bonny and see what is happening. That graph is 100% correct.
Ghanaian and Nigerian dual tour card holder, Emos Korblah, has won the final tournament and the biggest Purse of the maiden edition of the Glo Golf Tour West Africa. Korblah played one under par 71 on Sunday, the last day of play in the 72-hole game, but still managed to beat countryman Vincent Torgah who played 70 on day four to the second place. Korblah played 72 on day one, improved to 69 on day two, made his competition best on day three with 69 points and then dropped back to 71 on the last day.
He amassed a combined score of 283 while Torgah, who played better on day four, made a combined score of 284, having played 73, 70, 71, 70. Korblah entered the Glo Tour as tournament favorite and was expected to win in Otukpo being a member of the Otukpo Golf and Country Club, venue of the Grand Finale, and having performed well throughout the Tour. Korblah came second in Asaba, took the third place in Sagamu and won in Abuja before proceeding to Otukpo, his home turf.
The Surprise of the competition was Edet Umoh who came from behind to grab the third place in Otukpo. Although Umoh was one of the hopefuls of the Tour , he failed to glitter throughout the competition and even in the first three days of the Grand Finale. He however mustered enough mental strength to shore up his performance in the last 18 holes to end up with a three-under- par score. To end up in third position he beat the pack of 43 finalists and Ghana's Ghenyor A, who came fourth, with a combined score of 292. Umoh played 77, 73, 73, 69.
His poor play before the last 18 holes robbed him of a better position on the score board. Korblah went home with N2.7m cash being the lion share of the N20m cash prize for the Grand Finale. Torgah took home N1.5m and Umoh N1.2m. Fourth placed Ghenyor got N960,000.
The rest of the prize money was shared to the rest of the 43 finalists. Others who received their prizes in Sunday's impressive gala night and prize winning ceremony included Mohamed Liman who won a brand new Toyota Corolla 2012 model for scoring a-hole-in-one in Abuja.
The amateur winners also took home several prizes including iPads , motorcycles, sewing machines, golf kits, refrigerators and airtime , all courtesy of Globacom, at the ceremony. Speaking to journalists after his game, Korblah said that the tour was not easy, even though he had boasted that he would win on the familiar Otukpo course.
He commended Glo for putting up the competition saying that the Glo Golf Tour was special because of the prize motivation and for being a region wide tournament, accommodating golfers from all over West Africa. "Glo has done well," he said. Senate President, Senator David Mark also praised the sole sponsor of the Tour, Globacom, for its heavy investment in sports, saying that other companies should emulate Glo's good job as "the government alone cannot fund sports". http://www.gloworld.com/latestnews4.asp
