We are indeed becoming more ''civilized'' everyday, in fact the level of civilization of some people is truly ''commendable'', people are now so civilized and exposed that very soon we might have to legalize financial corruption in Nigeria because it is not a ''choice'' but rather ''natural'' for our kleptomaniac politicians. The sentential propositions of some clearly very well ''educated'' people on this site is equally ''commendable'', they are so educated that they know it is right to subjugate clearly forward looking , positive tradition values for questionable western moral standards. while the west is trying all it can to revert back to natural moral systems as expounded by our wise forefathers, these ''liberal'' ''progressives'' are asking that we should throw traditional African values, values that any sane society cannot argue against, to the dogs, they are saying that there is nothing wrong in a man marrying a man, or a woman doing the same, very soon we shall have to legalize robbery, murder, rape, anarchy because it is '' natural'' to some people, and we must not '' punish '' them for what they had no choice in doing, these developments are really '' commendable'', |

business man, !, you have to try harder , maybe increase the price to 5 milla, |
they dont even have the capacity to do such, their level of intellectual mediocrity never ceases to amaze me, how can people who find it impossible to put in place constant electricity with technology that has been around for ages seek to censor the usage of another technology whose very existence is based on constant innovation, and change, with all the proxies, tunnels, vpns around?, methinks the minister is just talking so as to appear politically correct, if on the other hand they are serious about this, that means they want to embezzle millions, nay, billions of naira because they will continue pouring money into a hole that is getting deeper everyday, one that is impossible to fill, |
the Godfather by mario puzo |
personally i think Francis Ford Coppolla's THE GODFATHER trilogy is the greates set of movies ever made in man's history, the film is a masterpiece, its like the Mona Lisa of movies, very powerful influential movie, featuring casts like marlon brando, al pacino, andy garcia, e.t.c, the cinematograpphy was superb, from the lighting to the acting, it is the true classic of classics, the capo di capi of all movies, |
there is fire on the mountain, and it is amazing that people are not seeing the loaded gun facing them, and the time bomb that will certainly explode in time. western nations are buying up and leasing land all across Africa, the consequence is that they tie you in into a one way contract, you can sell only to them, or on the other hand they grow the crops in your country ,export it to the world market, and you will then import it again, most of the time they will not sell in the local markets, so apart from providing phantom jobs(more like a modern day serfdom) for some people, its more like a curse in disguise for everybody in the long run, let everybody beware, this is the new form of colonization, foreign investment in the natural resources of developing nations most of the time portends disaster for the people. |
It is understandable that we should all react in this way to the obviously unpalatable news, based on our perception of the character behind the rumour. but what we fail to realize or choose to ignore is that talk happens to be very cheap, anybody can come to an online forum and talk but reality can only be changed by people who face reality, who not only talk but act ,since Nigerians obviously cannot do something to practically affect their collective destiny ,we must at least be ready to face reality and tolerate the status quo, with a view to practically changing it if we are empowered to do so. since empowerment is lost because we cannot as a body unite without the coercion of professional politicians to form realistic strategies that will target corrupt individuals and bodies without the help of government agencies overseen by the same corrupt politicians, then we must be ready to accept and work with the next best thing, and that is a corrupt politician that invests his loot inside the country, generating jobs for some and taxes for other politicians to loot. whether you like it or not bola ahmed tinubu is a thief that you have no court proof evidence to prove as one, , that there is the fact.BAT is a thief, crook, area boy ,drug dealer, money launderer, and mafia boss that nobody has been able to pin anything on, the FBI tried, the EFCC tried and they all failed. but you know that he is a crook. that means BAT must either be very very intelligent, very very protected, or very very clean,, since you obviously know that he cannot be clean, then you must accept that he must be under protection of some powerful beings. since you cannot verify this, then you must accept that he must be a very very intelligent criminal mastermind to be able to escape the combined clutches of the FBI,EFCC,OBJs and PDP, where close palls and associates of baba obj are ending up doing short term internships at kirikiri, if we all agree that OBJ IS A VERY VINDICTIVE, unforgiving enemy then we should be surprised that he has not used the efcc against BAT, or even influence GEJ to use it to checkmate him, it must either be that OBJ IS NOT as vindictive as we think he his, or as influential as we think he must be over the EFCC when he was president or over GEJ, or maybe we are wrong, whatever, that fact is they have nothing on BAT, you have NOTHING on him, and the man is always smart enough to cover his tracks anywhere, any day, anytime, until we are able to come up with verifiable, bullet proof evidence to prove the point in a court of law, then we are just wasting valuable time. that said, we should realize that America HAD its robber barons(Rockefeller, j.p Morgan)and political machines(Tammany hall, William tweed) before it became what it is today, no miracle is going to happen and we should learn to deal with reality, this does not justify BAT’s activities, but that is the fact. though BAT cannot be compared with these people and ACN with the organizations, some parallels are shared. life is a gradual process, Nigeria will get there, but a miracle cannot happen overnight, years back we had governors who only steal and do nothing else(we still have them), now we have governors that steal and still perform to an extent(very few indeed), fashola currently inflates project costs( stealing) that he subsequently executes for all to see and benefit from. in years to come the curve will be shifting more to the right( i.e more visible project and infrastructural developments) and less thievery. that is the reality. miracles only happen in computer generated economic models. To the realists in the house, join the PDP or ACN, do not mind the kind of people you find there, start at the ward level and start influencing decisions that would help your people, make yourself relevant in the party system, connect with the right people, WALK THE TALK and let us change Nigeria for the better, starting from the parties, this is my advice for the realistic patriots who know that Nigeria cannot be changed by only posting angry comments on the internet but by taking practical steps and joining a viable party and working from within it. Now, as a consolation for die hard idealists, who still believe politics is dirty, and that they are too clean to be involved in it, know that in years to come, you can still organise and form your own ‘’clean’’ socialist party, become a socialist president and NATIONALIZE all of BAT’s stolen assets, until then, be pragmatic and face reality. Anytime, Any day i will always prefer a thief who invests his stolen loot in my nation where it can be of benefit to me or my people, generate jobs and generate taxes that the same politician can steal and reinvest to a thief that steals the money and carts it all off to his swiss account |
the most memorable scenes i can think of are; 1, the opening scene of the greatest movie ever made( the Godfather1),, where Don corleone (marlon brando) met with amerigo bonasera, the artistry behind the setting, lighting and shooting tells a lot about the creative genius of F.F. Coppola 2, the scene(also in the Godfather) where Don corleone meets with the dons of all the other mafia families, the acting here was so real that you will actually think these guys must be mafia dons in real life. , the scene where sonny corleone was machine gunned to death. \, the scene where micheal corleone(al pacino) executes the heads of the mafia families plus his brother-in-law, and then swaggers off, the gangster swagger was actually invented here, |
I almost fancy I am dreaming when I look back on the miraculous incapacity of some persons to think clearly, there is nothing wrong in looking a spade in the eye and calling it a spade,Jesus did not hesitate in calling pharisees and Sadducee hypocrites, and he did not hesitate in whipping money changers in the temple for turning a place of worship to a money market,it is not called ''judging'', it is called saying the truth, and doing what you preach. in fact with the level of money oriented hypocrisy going on in the church nowadays, pastors will not even recognize Jesus if he makes a cameo appearance.Jesus is not popular in the church nowadays, money and business teaching is more popular. These people defending gross deception are so engrossed with their pretended merit of their pastors that they are blind to everything else.if they aren't so immorally pious they'd be honest and say the truth.what is the use of a jet to a church that should be actively winning souls for Christ?, people forget that it is not what you preach from your bible that really wins soul, it is what your lifestyle is like and how you have used that to affect forgotten people, not people who already have, but the havenots, Jesus did not only preach, Jesus actually fed the people, healed the sick, turned water to wine,Jesus never collected tithe, or offering from his audience, by the way who do pastors pay their tithe to?,, Mary slessor did not come to Africa to preach only, she was actually helping the needy, nursing them, protecting them, showing care. it is what you do that preaches to people, not what you say. buying a 4.5b jet when 80% of your church members are needy is a PR disaster, and some people are still defending this!.in societies where reason is stronger than superstition this cannot be the case.the statements attributed to some posters on this thread in defense of this glaring act of insensitivity are suggestive of the depths of imbecility to which the human mind may descend.with minds carefully drilled and educated out of any originality or self-resource that nature may have endowed them with.our politicians,as we have all learned to our collective sorrow, have no principles at all,if they could sell their mother and win an election, they would.they call it politics, but my people, shouldn't there be a difference between our politicians and our pastors?, shouldn't there be a difference between men of gold and men of God?, some people's concept of blessing may lead them into trouble, if it can lead those who God gave it to (Solomon with all his wisdom), into trouble, then what about the MOG who followed the broad path to it? Such blessing is not of this world, and when by chance it lingers here a while, it seems sent rather by the anger than by the goodness of God. Better, indeed, would it be for him who possesses it, never to have known it. at the end of the day let us thank God there is a God. if the Gallup Poll had been around in ancient Israel, Jesus would probably have gotten discouraged and gone back to carpentry 'A society when it becomes soft and tender takes sides with those who harm it, nietzsche |
if i was as exposed 8 years ago as i am now, i would have chosen to study business law, specializing in real estate law,or i might have studied economics , then moved on to specialize in investment banking and financing with a special focus on Public Private Partnership Projects financing and management( i see this as the future driver of infrastructural development in Nigeria), but i studied civil engineering, came out with a 2;2, got autocad, revit and csc orion design skills, and realized too late that the market is already taken by architects, bricklayers and contractors. i also realized that construction companies actually want you to come with 5 years experience to be paid 120k as site engineer, but thank God i am a fresh grad, and can still plan and project manage my career. |
The problem with some Nigerians is that they have actually become so ''educated'', so ''exposed'' that they they fail to see the difference between how things are and how they are supposed to be,they have lost the ability to differentiate between right ad wrong to their philistinic habits. True, ,some companies do sell off their properties at stupid prices( mostly listed companies), the question is: can you, as a profit driven private business operator decide to sell off properties that are still in very good condition at giveaway prices and still claim you are running your company efficiently?, All these stuff about ridiculous sales happen in listed companies because the company management knows that shareholders do not know the difference between right and left and are not united enough to present a common front and call them to account, that is why they act with impunity and this is what destroys them at the end of the day ( NB sanusi and the banking industry). if you truly believe that government should be ran like a world class company, then you will agree with me that set objectives should always be met at the lowest cost to the shareholders; that is minimum loss, and profit maximization. Thus a truly efficient and transparent organization managed by sane and ethically balanced individuals will always seek ways of satisfying the shareholders by cutting needless waste and MAXIMIZING profit, in this case Nigerian taxpayers are the shareholders and the politicians are the management, whose first responsibility is to the former. The fact that stupid salvage sales happen in other companies does not mean that we have to take the B***s***. |

The UK Telegraph reported, "In a Washington Post-ABC poll, 59 per cent of those who had already voted across the country backed Obama, and 40 per cent supported John McCain." Political scientist Michael McDonald of George Mason has a comprehensive website displaying the most current information on the status of early voting. More than 25 million early votes have been cast so far, according to McDonald's site, and the numbers clearly favor Obama, writes brownsox of DailyKos: Florida: Early-voting Democrats are outnumbering Republicans at those sites by more than 20 percentage points, and a WSVN-Suffolk University poll has Barack Obama leading over John McCain 60% to 40% among early voters. Georgia: Two million people, a record, cast early ballots in Georgia. That's 60% of the total 2004 vote. Blacks comprise 35% of Georgia early voters, and women 56%, suggesting that as of right now, Barack Obama and Jim Martin are winning big. Nevada: With more than 600,000 Nevadans already having voted according to the AP, "The early voting in advance of Election Day has been so heavy that Secretary of State Ross Miller increased his total turnout prediction from about 1 million to 1.1 million voters." That lowers the early-absentee balloting percentage -- but it's still at 56 percent of the revised total of expected voters. In Clark County, Democratic early voting outstrips Republican by 52% to 31%, while in traditionally Republican Washoe County (where just a couple of weeks ago, Democratic registration topped Republicans for the first time since 1978), 47% of early voters are Democrats to 35% Republicans. Iowa: Dems are leading in early voting in Iowa with 47.3% of Dems compared to 28.8 percent of Republicans and a huge 23.9 percent of unaffiliated voters. Kentucky: It's 58.5% Dem, 28.4% Republican and 13.1% unaffiliated. And things are looking blue in New Mexico's early voting as well, with 52.7% Democratic and 32.8% Republican.it looks as if our wish is going to come true. |
Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has won in the two US towns that traditionally open US election voting. In Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, he won 15 votes to his Republican rival John McCain's six, becoming the first Democrat to win there since 1968. In Hart's Location he won 17 votes, while Mr McCain won 10, and Ron Paul two, showing 100% voter turnout. Results from the rest of the US are expected from 2300 GMT as citizens elect their 44th president. Hart's Location began the practice of voting early in 1948 so that railroad employees could vote before going to work. Dixville Notch's first voter cast his ballot just after midnight The nation's first 18-year-old to cast his vote, Arron Dindorf of Hart's Location, said: "It's one of the few times the town gets together all at once. "It's neat to see how into it people are, and they want to keep the tradition alive." Obama supporter Tanner Nelson Tillotson became Dixville Notch's first voter when his name was drawn from a bowl. Of his chosen candidate's win, he said: "I'm not going to say I wasn't surprised." Dixville Notch began its tradition of midnight voting soon after Hart's Location, but with increasing media attention the practice was stopped in 1964. It resumed for the 1996 election.note that two things has just happened which could influence the results,[1] obama's grandma just died, and palin has just been acquited of the charges against her. |
we have to agree on something-if he is not an atheist, then he should be a narcissist,if not, what then is he? ![]() |
the last comment by michel is one of the most precise statements i have ever come across and its a better explanation than my supposedly idiotic statement, apart from that it was presented in a very mature and straight forward manner, and to those who have been posting insultive messages, learn from this post.thank you once again michel, for educating me. |
if your God is not an atheist, what god does he believe in ?,what god does he serve?-to make my point clear i am not quastioning the existence of God,i am merely stating a fact. |
think well before you comment on this subject, follow the logic, not the sentiment. |

the problem with us in nigeria is that we are not getting our priorities right.we have this seeemingly irredeemable knack for aping, how could u launch a satellite when u dont have the necessary ,sustainable intellectual infrasructure on ground to maintain it or any plan for such?,i mean u are spending billions of naira sending a satellite into space when the best of ur universities lack most of the basic facilities present in modern nations.i am baflled that the government could even let the shadow of the thought of aping the west in the name of launching a satellite into space cross their supposedly wise minds when more than half of ur citizens are langushing in poverty.but then its nigeria, africa, nobody cares. |
second life is a 3d virtul world entirely built and owned by its residents.really its an online internet video game where u get to create virtual worlds and situation.it has yhe same potential as the internet if u study it well. |
its teribbly funny, imagine the yahooboys being yahooed.these guys are not mugus, they are MAGAS.!, if u don't know being a maga is worser than being a mugu.they are a disgrace to yahooboys. |
the ps contest, this would be a competition among participants for who is the best video game football player, precisely on the sony Ps2 video game console.i have made all the plans, and have outlined how it would be brought off the drawing board, the potentials are huge, and the market is huge.but there is a problem, i can't do it alone,i need a team, ,i would not say more than this.a true bizguy would have understood me,and as the saying goes 'a word is enough for the wise'.so if u are interested, just send a text message to 08039204361,or u can call. |
the electons have come and gone, and we have all realised that democracy in nigeria is an illusion, what really operates is an autocracy, powered by the wealthy and powerful few and brought into operation by an higly efficient rigging machine[a.k.a INEC].we all knew what happened, but we have little evidence;why!,am still wondering how the PDP got all the votes they had in the niger delta, they must have been very popular?!.INEC would deny any instance of rigging or dismiss it as the rare cases that occured in 120000 polling units;this is all to maintain a corporate image, infact rigging has bcom a corporate institution in nigeria;fill in the gap. |
