OP you are quite learned, that's why even the average Nigerians reading this piece finds it disgusting and is calling you names.
We are so use to half baked english that we do not care to even know they are wrong. You will find a graduate in Nigeria writing in a public forum that has no limitation of words and s/he is using expressions like u,dnt, cnt among others.
A movie is a literary piece and should be all round educating. When am viewing foreign movies I learn a lot, not just in terms of the message of the film but in grammar. This is what a piece should be and not the reverse. Our children learn by association and will pick such junks fast.
Kudos Op
Car Talk / Re: Nigeria Women Cant Drive! by Ama28(f): 5:56am On Nov 02, 2013
Its so obvious this is based on stereotype and prejudice.
The fact that culture has tuned your mind to look down on a woman shouldn't be cloud your judgement in certain issues.
Education should have corrected this, so if you are here jumping up and saying "women are worse drivers" without fact, here is a question for you.
In your smart manly mind, how many accidents in Nigerian roads are caused by female drivers? What is the percentage of female to male drivers in your state. Answer this simple statistics and educate yourself.
Women are more careful drivers, its in their nature

Education / Re: 22 Lagos Pupils Faint After Inhaling Gas by Ama28(f): 6:15pm On Nov 01, 2013
How can you register your child in a school beside a laboratory?
This same thing I was discussing with my friend whose child is in a school beside a road construction company and they heat and mix their coal tar there! Some of these are air borne.

One school around my place was a former poultry and we pursued them because of sanitation. The owner simply converted the place to a school and parents who know all this enrol their kids there. He is an entrepreneur and I can't keep bugging him but if he can not keep a poultry clean how can he look after your ward?

Its so disgusting that the kids are at the receiving end.

Education / Re: How Do Schools Help Children With Attention Problems (ADD) by Ama28(f): 7:07pm On Oct 26, 2013
I think you need to make research about the state you intend to relocate to and know if they have it.
I know a special school at enugu state. Its at abakpa nike and it owned by Prof Peter Ebigbo's wife who is a german and an educational pedagogist.

The children here are not flogged and their school system is far more different from what is attainable in Nigeria.
I did a program at the school for a few weeks then.
The teaching model is one child to a teacher, they do more of art work than convention school work.
They have all sorts of special education teachers!
Properties / Re: Bitter Experience Living With Landlords by Ama28(f): 12:21am On Oct 26, 2013

She insisted that the day she notices that her hubby (my landlord) has ever seen me on shorts, she will refund me.
I pity her and her insecurity though
Family / Re: HIV-Positive Woman Arrested For Breastfeeding Neighbour’s Baby by Ama28(f): 6:32am On Oct 17, 2013
I think the two year sentence is enough for her, the possibility of having access to her ARV in there is limited for a country like Zimbabwe. She will come out of it bedridden or worse. Her action will endanger other HIV+ people in the area because this will boost stigma and rejection!

Poor baby, my concern is, if this is the first time the woman is breastfeeding the baby? If she has been doing it before being caught or this was her first attempt. The child can be treated for exposure to the virus and might not get infected. But for a breastfeeding child whom the mother leaves outside to play, who knows, this might not be her first breastfeeding session!

Education / Re: Was Your Name Ever Written Among The Noise Makers In Class? by Ama28(f): 8:48am On Oct 11, 2013
There can't be a list of noise makers in my class without my name.
During the general assembly the famous announcement is "No noisemaking, Ama take note!

Sometime ago an old schoolmate met me online and was chatting me up, I just didn't recognise her she she said, are you not Ama, the noisemaker! My hubby teased me about it till I begged.

Ok there was this day we had foreigners at school and the principal warned us all to PRETEND! I felt the class was too quiet so I drew a car on the board and started pushing it. The whole class burst into laughter! I went to the door to peep if the pal was coming because the laughter was too much. Guess what! As I squat at the class door to peep, the pal placed her foot on my peeping head! You can imagine the rest.

Seriously I can't believe I did all that!

That is called governance! He should commensurate with the deceased families! He owes Nigerians protecttion of lives and properties! Its called security in his portfolio!

Who is supposed to regulate the waters? Until you learn to hold your government accountable, this nation will keep reproducing dummies!

What if this was an airline and we are having 150 casualties? This nation would have been on stand still? Is it because they are poor?

Mister the government should value lives of citizens hence should console the affected families!

Hey! 42 dead and 100 not confirmed!
The president is so use to death that He will not make any public statement. If 5 persons die in kenya or in Westminster he will rush to the media!
Dose it mean that Nigerian Navy does not regulate the capacity boats carry in our waters? 60 capacity boat is carrying 150 passengers! More than twice the carriage!
What a nation!
Culture / Re: Will You Marry Your Tribal Person Or Another Tribe? by Ama28(f): 1:27pm On Sep 21, 2013
komek: From the Topic OP, let us forget about this love thing.

I will like to marry from my tribe. Reason been that of language, culture, food, etc.

Language: I would prefer a common language in the house. Its very necessary ur children speak ur language and understand ur culture and not that of another tribe cos they were born and brought up there. If they understand it, that's still ok. I like it when couples code their language when a visitor is around. And I like rapping my language like shit.

Culture: I discover some cultures accept what other don't accept. Getting a spouse who is from ur tribe would reduce some fear. After all she or he knows the outcome of every action carried out.

Food: As a village boy, I like the foods from my tribe. They are wonderful. I have been in this city for a very long time buh have not been able to eat any food belonging to them cos I am not used to it.
Another point is becos it is biblical too. Again, I will not have the fear of anybody running away with my children.

Disadvantage: from my experience, I discover that some pple are not always confortable when pple from other gisting in their presence. This cud cos unneccesary tension in the house.

An uncle ones married from one tribe, he was unable to build a toilet anywher, buh her wife had built a duplex in her villa courtesy my Uncles cash.

Advantages and Disadvantages plenty jare, so choose what u want for ursef.

I hope you don't go ten foot pole near a girl who is not from your tribe after writing all these!
Let's wait till you fall in love then u can come back and tell us whom your marrying!
Goodluck though!

Family / Re: My Daughters Lied That Their Father Had Sex With Them…. by Ama28(f): 12:22am On Sep 21, 2013
Btruth:

What's your point here? Are you saying people with female child should be look with contempt? or, are you advising that once one had female kids, he should leave the house and start living separately from his family? I don't understand, and I need you to explain your point on this.

Most times parents transfer and express their emotions through their children its very natural even though not healthy. Parents in messy relationship can as well transfer the bitterness example is a man whose wife ran away with another man leaving him with her daughter.
My point is, the girl child needs both parents and in an instance she needs to stay with a parent, the mother is the best option.
In cases of incest, you will also always notice absentee mothers, some of them are cases of divorce and the woman goes leaving the daughter(s) behind.
Why do you think that in Child Right Act 2003 a man alone cannot be allowed to adopt a baby girl.
Food / Re: Food Prices Have Declined In Nigeria - National Bureau Of Statistics by Ama28(f): 4:32pm On Sep 20, 2013
Increase in availability of food is quiet attainable but for this foods to have decreased in price to the extent of affecting inflation rate is questionable for me.

If the tuber products which are household food is available now than last month or the prices are lower now, its due to the harvest but will the food produced this year be able to cater for the entire populace after the floods and the violence in most parts of the north?

Bread and rice are also staple food in Nigeria and bread and cereal were among the items that increased last year according to this report, so how can price of food affect inflation if some of the staple food is do not reduce in their prices in your scale!

Oga researcher, this food might be available but still bought at almost the same price as during dry season! The change can't be significant.

For me, I wouldn't really blame her as a mother. Its normal to try and defend your kids!
But since he was not caught in the act and there were no evidence of such, she would have handled the matter in-house. Moreover the case didn't go to court so why the publicity.

Mothers should not leave their daughters in the custody of their father alone.
Its wrong, yes this man didn't do this but we have seen worse cases than this!

They just need to sort the father out and keep begging for forgiveness!
Poor man!

The painful part is that the both the victim and perpetrators are human and all casualties Nigerian,
I think peace and conflict resolution should be in our primary and secondary school curriculum and made compulsory.
