Politics / Re: 2015 Polls Will Be Free, Fair –jonathan by Ama28(f): 4:31pm On Apr 02, 2013
There are operational meanings to the word "free and fair!" Maybe the one Mr Jonathan is talking about might not be the same as ours. I say this because if He insists on free and fair elections, I expect to see mechanisms in place to achieve it.

Example of such would be to strengthen the anti corruption agency, the election governing body and the judiciary. What of the cases still pending in court from the last election? There were lapses in the electoral act that posed as a flaw to the last election and is yet to be amended.

Mr Jonathan its time to stop the parrot singing and start the acting.
When you tell us the truth, we will know before then, keep campaigning!

Crime / Re: 57-year-old Man Arrested For Defiling An 8-year-old Girl by Ama28(f): 8:16pm On Mar 25, 2013
Our legal system has tried to protect our children by enacting the Child Right Act in 2003.
Now the states are supposed to domesticate such law to protect their child and prosecute perpetrators like this man such that it will serve as a deterrent to others!

What punishment is the criminal law going to give this man! 3 years jail term? He will come back into the street more hardened and a pro idefiling children.

From 2003 till date we do not have up to 20 states that has domesticate the Child Right Law!

This abuse is still happening. So many go unreported and families are intimidated into not reporting
Our government need to do more to protect our future leaders

DOSE OF THE OPIUM FOR THE GULLIBLE ONES.

One of the inherent beauty of human nature is our ability to perceive the same experience and event differently and that is why we have opinions and belief systems that differs.

We acquire education, not to make noise but to be able to read and understand people other than ourselves. If you do not believe in a thing, it does not make it non existent nor void.

Ranting and calling names on social media is not communication remember. Your smart so I assume you understand my line here, the difference between your comments and activism of boko haram members is just a thin line.
Mr don't shove your believe down our throat! Respect ours!

Ok let the rattling begin!!!!

Politics / Re: Pressure On Lawmakers To Impeach Gov. Okorocha. by Ama28(f): 4:25pm On Mar 24, 2013
This process is called democracy so for those officials that think Nigerians are not interested in our government, wake up!

I was at owerri, Imo capital to be precise and I saw many plaudible projects. So for the pro-Okorochas you have grounds for your allegiance to the governor.

From the write up I noticed that most of the complaints were that he did not follow due process, appropriation and Imo State Appropriation law.

This still an allegation until it is proven but I will say Kudos to the group.
Government is not people's private property and inheritance hence, people should abide by rules and regulations! There is an iota of truth in all this and the legislator owe it to us all to unravel this!

As for Gov. Okorocha its such a disappointment that this allegation should come up in the first place, after the way Imo supported you!
Its better you do this at the State level than National.
You just lost an extra vote

Our problems will die with him on Good Friday and His glory shall reign with Us on Easter!

Thats honor dignity and humanitarian heart combined.
This is why I get furious when someone tells me that they steal, engage in prostitution or other social vices because of poverty! He has nothing, yet he didn't steal.

We all have moral values which we can decide to bend to suit our needs!
Imagine people stealing N18million and saying police should release them because they earn N12,000 and politicians steal too.
That's our case scenario!

Thumb up man, you are to be celebrated!

How come I am seeing the word " government, government" everywhere in Mr Jonathan's response.
He is addressing the government as himself alone and not including Nigerians.
I thought democracy is government for the people and by the people?

Regarding his promises, he has recorded more failures than achievement in this government.
He has loop holes in almost all sectors of governing.
His anti corruption strategies are zero. He might say he prosecuted corrupt officers but created avenue for more corruption
He has no control on the dealings in the oil sector
His employment strategy is super zero!
Civil servants serving under him are worse thieves than politicians
He is a source of embarrassment to Nigerians and Nigeria at large!
Need I mention our security situation and the fact that we now dines with terrorist?

Please Mr Jonathan your list of failures are endless, dust your tradition etibo and get ready to leave!

Mtoto! I want to assume you didn't call me "silly"!
How can you explain the fact that every vice you guys can't deal with is labelled Nigerian in your country?

The way you guys throw yourselves at Nigerians! Even my lecturers wouldn't start lectures without reassuring themselves they are so lucky to teach a Nigerian.

I remember the amount of wealth and investment Chinedu made in Nairobi and how your MP and his estranged Kenyan wife fought him! Yet nobody knows him at home here so if our dangotes should come to Nairobi it will change to a city!

Did I say Nairobi or Nai - robbery

You know you guys are reputable for violence please don't lynch yourselves over this!

the NFA should make the players comfortable though. We also have our boys that go abroad and I wouldn't be happy if they get treated poorly.

As for the threats, the Nigerian movies you watch is coming from African magic and that's Multichoice South Africa.
You guys should be happy that we are entertaining you with our movies!
As for where our plane will land, its still your poor economy we want to develop by using Kenya Airways.

I studied in Nairobi and I know you guys always always have self esteem issues when your around Nigerians!

Our security is so porous that anyone from any nation who has terrorist intention can carry out the act through our dear Nation!

By the time America is through with that guy, he will re-dedicate himself to his course.

Now how come this Nigeria related terrorist is being put up in the lame light just this period Mr Jonathan has issues with his american counterpart!

Yoruba_Omoge:

Scared of their shadows? Are you and the other earthly judges their shadows?
No, they're scared of hypocritical, violent, lynching religious tools like you.

Spare me the long grammar, I have not heard of any news where anyone is lynched in Nigeria for being a gay so stop scaring the living day lights out of yourselves. Even when the issue came up in the house, your likes were there and couldn't lobby for the bill?

I know the MSM (Men sexing Men) organisation in PH. They hold their programs and do their stuff, no one cares so I wonder why you are hiding!

Moreover Mr Jonathan just granted pardon to someone with crime of sodomy and you know the relationship between his lifestyle and yours! Can you even tell any member of your close family about it? Guess no!

MacDaddy01:

So there are no gay women?

I doubt that such people are scared of their own shadow, they probably know how ignorant and wicked your fellow christian and muslim brothers can be when it comes to such issues.

If they are not scared of their shadow dear kindly take the lead and declare your lifestyle in this forum.
Then I can escort you to a national TV so you can also raise your flag.

Being gay has entirely nothing to do with being a muslim or a christian. Its a lifestyle and not religion. People only make mockery of it on religious basis but it is criticized on cultural and natural basis. Get your facts right before you reply dear!

I think I met all the criteria listed but oi have responsibility! Anyway its not about me now.

The best thing that can happen to Nigeria is if we start individually to sort ourselves out in business other than waiting to work in aircondition offices. or better still combine both!
Ladies take note.

Real Men talking!!!
Not wanna be women looking for fellow men to devour
The issue is that even the gay are so scared of their shadows they won't come out openly to declare their lifestyle. Am not against them too but I am very sure legalising it in Nigeria is still far fetch

A good strategic giving, its has to be a church that's charity we understand and it has to be at the president's village, so patriotic. Then one billion that's awesome.

I have no issue with the president's pardon whatsoever like I insist, its his prerogative and he uses it as he deem fit but that would have been an avenue for his to touch more lives in Nigeria than generate this conflict and diplomat row.

We have many Nigerians on death row and others whose cases hasn't even gone to court. Imagine the calibre of people he granted pardon, a thief and a sodomy expert!

As for America we don't owe then any explanation we are independent nation and they should hug transformer. Mr Jonathan you just won't seize to embarrass Nigeria as a nation!

almost every day ... when i'm cooking i call and put them on speaker, when i'm in class i text, at the movies, at a club ... even when i'm asleep i sometimes wake up just to hear their voice and go right back to sleep. i do this because i feel life is short and i know when i'm older i would wish i had given them more time ... distance is not a barrier

Hmmmm I admire you for this! My folks will love you, am so caught up in this not calling issue. My dad calls like once a month to scream at me for forgetting him. Mum calls more often.

I think I will call more often now, like u said life is too short. Got to go, have a call to make.

I like the way this writer buttress his/her point.
Mr Jonathana has done us more harm than good.

Most people think that its still "business as usual in Nigeria" not knowing that people have started holding government accountable and speaking up.

I am yet to see any improvement on the fight against corruption in this government. Mr Jonathan has just taken us 10 steps backwards without making a step forward!

Its good all of us are complaining so come 2015 we will know what we want from a president whether a smart one or half baked magician
