A most lying commission that implied it didn't keep its promise to conduct election on the most modern electronic collation of votes via a database connected to a server, and for which it collected huge sums of money.
An Electoral Commission which even postponed election on the eve of election. |

Only a sex-starved and sexually depraved person would want to have the priviledge of free sex entertainment. Why strip them of their dignity? Why not hand them over to the Police as being done in civilized countries? Must we always display our backwardness to the whole world?
This inhumane act of stripping offenders bare is so archaic, uncivilized and uncalled for. Criminals have rights too. Afterall, they're still humans like us and they deserve a little bit of respect. Sex starved man stripping a woman and watching her nude makes his starvation worse. Develop more sense. As for the inhuman act of stripping offenders naked, ours is a zoo country. These captured kidnappers are not even supposed to be shown on social media unless convicted by a court.. But Nigerian journalists started publishing photos of non- convicted suspects; the useless practice became custom. Alas, if the suspects were not convicted or innocent, the journalists won't pay compensation for defamation of character. |

owisdom58: Shehu Sani, former Kaduna Central Senator, has faulted the Federal Government’s proposed establishment of Ruga settlements for herdsmen in some states of the federation.
He said establishing the settlement without ensuring ensuring a comprehensive inter-communal peace will lead to disaster.
Buhari government had disclosed that it was working towards establishing Ruga settlements for herdsmen in 12 pilot states nationwide.
Mohammadu Umar, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, made this known in Abuja on Tuesday. He said that the farm settlements, when fully established, would address incessant clashes between Fulani cattle rearers and farmers.
Reacting, Sani tweeted: “Establishing a ‘Rugan Fulani’ settlement in some states where spears and swords are flying over heads and without facilitating a comprehensive inter communal peace plan and MOU, will be a recipe for disaster. The architects of the idea are viewing the problem from their tinted windows.”
https://thickmatch.com/shehu-sani-speaks-buhari-govts-plan-create-ruga-settlements-states/ Cattle is no more reared by herders moving about with cattle on other people's lands. Cattle is now reared in enclosed private ranches. The abnormal dictator still thinks Nigeria is still in the 1980s. He is merely wasting govt money building nonsense settlements for his nomadic Fulani cattle herder brothers, hoping that entire Nigeria shall become Fulani country. Before he closes eyes, the settlements shall be pulled down by normal beings. Cattle settlement for where? We now eat more pork than beef in my end of the country. |

EzeChudy: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) appears not bothered by scathing indictment trailing its conduct of the last general elections. Chairman of the nation’s electoral umpire, Professor Mahmood Yakubu on Wednesday described the Commission under his leadership as the most improved public agency in Nigeria. He gave the self-appraisal at the review of the 2019 election conduct with the second batch of about 387 Election Officers (EOs) from the Southern states of the country. He declared that INEC has improved tremendously in its performance with each successive elections conducted in the country since 1999.
He said: “If you look at what happened to our elections since 1999, you will know that INEC is the most improve public service in Nigeria. We have offices at the grassroots, but we can do more.” He appealed to the Electoral Officers to feel free to ventilate their views and share their observations as he noted that the summit was meant to improve on its performance in last general elections. “Feel free to make the observations and necessary suggestions. It is an opportunity to make our elections better.
“Every organisation should be interested in the successive plan. The commission will not lose experience hands soon. We try to build the capacity of our EOs by giving them the needed exposure. We involved the EOs in foreign elections observation including various trips to Kenya, Liberia America. “It helps me to assess the EOs and I’ve not been disappointed with the quality of our EOs. You do more than just election day activity. We started in 2018 with the Continuous Voters’ Registration and about 14.2 million registered voters were added.”
In his remarks, National Commissioner and Chairman, Planning, Monitoring & Strategy Committee, INEC, Dr Mustapha Lecky, said the interactive session was organised to take recommendations from the Electoral Officers because of the critical roles they play in the electoral process. Yesterday session with the Electoral Officers from the Southern States was the second batch of the interactive forum as INEC had a similar summit with 387 Electoral Officers from the 19 Northern states on Monday.

nairalaila: The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele, has stated that oil discovery exposed Nigeria’s economy to vulnerability. According to the CBN boss, the increasing reliance on crude oil revenues have led to a severe downturn in the agriculture and manufacturing sectors, and also exposed the economy to vulnerabilities that normally accompanied an increased dependence on a single commodity for survival.
Emefiele who disclosed that oil discovery exposed Nigeria’s economy to vulnerability, further revealed in his economic blueprint for the economy for the next five years that if Nigeria had maintained its market dominance in the palm oil industry, which stood at 40 per cent in the 70s, the country would be earning above $20bn annually from the cultivation and processing of palm oil today.
“Our situation is further worsened by the unpatriotic activities of some unscrupulous individuals and businesses who embarked on massive smuggling and dumping of goods that can be produced in the country, thus leading to the demise of our agricultural and manufacturing sectors and hence the attendant high level of unemployment" he said.
He further revealed that the CBN has been deploying intervention funds to support growth and productivity in the agricultural and manufacturing sectors, and have also restricted access to foreign exchange on 43 items.

Priscy01: The Federal Government said on Tuesday that it had begun to establish “Ruga Settlements” for herdsmen in 12 pilot states nationwide, Igbere TV reports.
Alh. Mohammadu Umar, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, made this known in an interview in Abuja on Tuesday on the sidelines of a workshop on Regional Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and associated legislation in West Africa.
He said that the farm settlements when fully established would address the incessant clashes between Fulani cattle rearers and farmers.
Umar explained that the pilot programme had already commenced on a 31,000-hectare in Kotongora, Niger state.
According to him, the required facilities for a basic life and treatment of cattle are being provided to enhance productivity.
He said that the government would replicate the programme in selected states as work “is ongoing in the 12 pilot states”.
According to him, six settlements will be established in each of the pilot states.
Umar, who added that the centres would be expanded and adequately equipped, and assured the beneficiaries that government would do all that was necessary to enlighten the herdsmen on how the use of ranches could make make cattle rearing more profitable.
He said that the government would sensitise the herdsmen to the social and political benefits derivable from such settlements.
The permanent secretary explained that various spots would be established for the pastoralists to be able to milk their cows.
He also said that dispensaries would be established to prevent the misuse of antibiotics.
Source; http://igberetvnews.com/795820/farmer-herder-clashes-fg-sets-up-farm-settlements-for-herdsmen/ How private business of Fulani herdsmen has now become the business of Nigeria's federal government is beyond expectations. Before the presidential election, INEC assured political parties that it would use electronic transmission system with database and server to conduct the election. The parties agreed, thus trusted INEC and entered the election based on INEC's assurance.
If INEC now says it has no servers, that means that INEC breached the trust which the political parties had on INEC, the trust which made the parties allowed INEC to be umpire for the election.
That alone is enough for a judge to nullify the presidential election. Play the tapes where INEC assured political parties that it would use electronic transmission system with database connected to servers, that's all about breach of trust.
INEC now depends only on Pres Buhari's refusal to sign Electoral Law into force. That doesn't matter much. What matters most is INEC's assurances before the election, and INEC's breach of its assurances now. |
