silverbirdng: A socio-cultural organization in Rivers State, the Ikwerre Youth Movement, IYM, has called on the 2019 vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi, to apologise to former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
The youths pointed out that if Obi could not condemn former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha’s statement that Igbo presidency does not exist, then he should apologise for attacking Amaechi over a similar comment.
The former Minister had said that for Igbo to be successful in their quest for 2023 presidency, they must play national politics. Reacting, Obi said Amaechi lacked political relevance in Rivers, adding that the former Rivers State Governor cannot determine the fortune of the South-East in the 2023 presidential race.
However, Okorocha had, after his inauguration into the National Assembly, advised leaders of South-East to reach out to other regions if they must produce a President in 2023.
In their reaction to the development, Chairman of IYM in Emohua, Sir Lucky Worlu, urged Obi to condemn Okorocha on the statement or apologise to their son, Amaechi, immediately.
Worlu maintained that what Amaechi said was the true position on how the South-Eastern region would produce a President in the next four years, urging Ohanaeze Ndigbo to commence consultations early.
This is about demoralizing our military. Men on the front lines in battle. Calling them derogatory names.
I do not care for the analysis you have made as the point I insist is you do not demoralize an army that risks their life to keep you safe. It is against every law of decency and humanity
All those resident in the country who do so should be prosecuted.End of story.
You dodged the issues behind Boko Haram, issues raised in my comment. Repeat:
Boko Haram which has frequently stated that it's fighting for a country to be governed with Islamic Sharia criminal codes has millions of sympathizers from the northern Sharia states that adopted Islamic Sharia criminal codes.
That's why the war against Boko Haram is not winnable by Nigeria's armed forces.
A soldier can't be a zombie. A soldier is supposed to be convinced first by himself that he is fighting a right and winnable fight.
Solution to the Boko Haram problem is let the twelve Sharia states have their own country.
phineas: Nairaland her moderators and Seun need to address posts that attack our soldiers sacrifice and their morale.
Your site should not be the source and channel for Critisicm of men on the battle front. We owe these men and their families gratitude for their efforts. How many of you would let your sons, brothers, friends or fathers lay down their life for the safety of another person's in another state. This is what they do. They cannot under any circumstance be described as incompetent, weak,or any other irresponsible phrase.
For turning up at all to honour their duty. These soldiers deserve our respect. Seun be advised to address disrespect to them and their immense sacrifice on this site.
For how many years will you want the soldiers fight a religious war you know what is prolonging the fight? Millions of people in the Sharia states of northern Nigeria share same objectives with Boko Haram for a theocratic state of Nigeria to be governed with Islamic Sharia criminal codes. The difference between those millions of sympathizers to the cause of Boko Haram and the Boko Haram fighters is like the difference between six and half-dozen. Did you not celebrate when twelve northern Nigeria's states started to adopt unconstitutional Islamic Sharia criminal justice system beginning 1999?
Boko Haram is like the Taliban.
US and Allied forces battled the Taliban to give up nearly all of Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban. Hardly had the the Allied forces reached their home countries when Taliban recaptured most of Afghanistan.
Cutezt: At least five soldiers were killed on Monday evening when Boko Haram terrorists attacked a military base in Monguno, Borno state.
The attack which follows a series of attack in Borno State since June 12 happened at about 6 pm on Monday.
Military sources told SaharaReporters the insurgents stormed the Base with about 30 utility vehicles, heavily armed and operated unhindered before reinforcement arrived.
Before they were engaged by Nigerian military reinforcements, the terrorists carted away arms and ammunition while setting the base ablaze.
A military source who confirmed the torching of the Base said, "5 dead bodies of soldiers have been seen this morning and unverified number of soldiers are wounded, the military base was partially torch while arms and ammunition were carted away by the terrorists group.
"They also stole an ambulance and foodstuff meant for troops," he concluded.
Unemployment is reason why man fit enter barrack or bush and say him want fight against Boko Haram.
Boko Haram has millions of sympathizers from them 12 northern Nigeria Sharia states who share the same objectives with Boko Haram for a theocratic state of Nigeria to be governed with Islamic Sharia criminal codes.
If you are not from the Sharia states, struggle for independent country for your own part of Nigeria.
Nigeria was not created to be indissoluble.
What makes one happy about one's country is not how big or ethnic diverse or rich one's country is, but how contented one is with one's country.
POLITICAL PARTIES ENTERED THE 2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WITH AN AGREEMENT ON RECORDED STATEMENTS FROM INEC THAT THE RESULTS SHALL BE TRANSMITTED ELECTRONICALLY AND WITH SERVERS, AND WINNER EMERGING FROM THE PROCESS, FOR A TRANSPARENT ELECTION.
THUS, IF INEC DID NOT USE THE ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION METHOD AGREED BY POLITICAL PARTIES AND INEC BEFORE THE ELECTION PROPER, THE RESULTS OF THE ENTIRE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION DID NOT EMERGE FROM THE METHOD THE PARTIES AGREED UPON WITH INEC BEFORE ENTERING INTO THE ELECTION.
THUS, IN THE PROCESS OF CONDUCTING THE ELECTION, INEC BREACHED THE TRUST AND AGREEMENT IT ENTERED WITH THE POLITICAL PARTIES BEFORE THE ELECTION.
THEREFORE, THE RESULTS OF THE 2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION REMAIN NULL, VOID AND OF NO EFFECT.
Without electronic transmission, so according to Jega, people travelled from all over Nigeria to Abuja to submit the results of the elections from their states to Jega's INEC during the 2011 and 2015 presidential elections conducted by Jega. Another Taqqiya from Jega.

Danwakae: Is not about HAUSA ......Is Nigeria's curse
If Our high commissional in UK is doing is work very well, there wouldn't be lackadaisical attitude to work
Who is in control of Nigeria through political over-representation drawn from the huge and excess number of twenty states sowed like seeds for mostly one time rural areas all over northern Nigeria largely controlled by Hausa/Fulani? The Hausa/Fulani.
Nigeria's curse since 1996 started from its skewed and fraudulent political structure with undue too many states in the northern region.
Back to June 12 of MKO, ABIOLA, we never had the multi million votes now recorded for APC in northwest states. How did northwest states multiply million times million in few years? Let the server be produced.
Danwakae: SEN. OVIE OMO AGEGE BLOOD .....WARRI PEOPLE
IF NA NIGERIA , APC FOR MAKE AM DSP.
NIGERIA EMBASSY IN MOST COUNTRIES MOSTLY UK, STILL OPERATE LIKE TYPEWRITER, THINGS THAT KENYA EMBASSY IN UK WILL DO FOR U UNDER 30MINS IN , WILL TAKE DAYS TO DO THESAME IN NIGERIA EMBASSY IN SAME UK...the UK police should do more investigation , the man should not take all the blame alone
On the video, you see babanriga wearing and Hausa speaking people all over.
How do you expect people like that to work with speed and expediency?
In other countries' embassies, the appointment date is the day you submit every required document and collect your passport.
Hotfreezer: If Tinubu dies today, he has achieved more politically than you, your father, your grandfather, your ancestors and your generations unborn.
In your history right from when you were in Isreal before Judas Iscariot your ancestor sold Jesus the way you sell your generations in baby factories, have Igbos in the past, present or future Produced no. 2 and No. 4 in a single Republic? Tinubu made that happen.
Igbos hate Tinubu because he has political wisdom, sagacity and experience that no Igbo man can ever have. Where them wan see the IQ? Them wan thief am?
Oya develop more sense if Tinubu is your master political strategist in Yoruba kingdom.
If Abacha had hanged Obasanjo and Oladipo Diya then; Yoruba Muslims led by the Tinubus must still be making political alliances with Fulani/Hausa till today.
oilPUSSY: Believe Nigerian Army at your own peril.. Even when they are at the receiving end they would keep lying to you that they are in charge.. This is how they lied last year that they killed 100 Boko Haram members. When Boko Haram released their own video, we found out that the reverse was the case that it was 100 Nigerian Army were killed. Till today the military has refused to make statement concerning such issues.
That's TAQQIYA from the Army. Who is in charge of Nigeria's armed forces?
TAQQIYA is an Islamic injunction to tell enemies any available lie to defeat the enemy.
oilPUSSY: Islamic State’s West African branch (ISIS) claimed responsibility for an attack on a Nigerian Army base in Borno State and said its fighters had killed 20 soldiers. Reuters repoted on Friday.
The assault, which raised questions about government claims to have almost defeated the insurgents, took place in the town of Kareto on Wednesday. The barracks were burnt and a tank destroyed, Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA) said in a statement published on the SITE Intelligence website.
Security sources had said earlier that the base, home to troops from the Nigerian Army’s 158th Battalion and 130 km (80 miles) from the state capital Maiduguri, had been overrun and the commander killed. After the assault, the militants left Kareto, but remained in the area, the sources said. Igbo groups to Buhari: We want SGF for South-East, tell leaders to rally support from North, South-West Reuters said the Nigerian Army did not respond to requests for comment.
Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA), which split from Nigerian terrorist group, Boko Haram, in 2016, has carried out a number of attacks in the North-East over the last few months, including on military bases. The government had said the Boko Haram insurgency and the rival Islamic State West Africa Province group were on their last legs. But sustained efforts to eradicate the militants have failed and the military continues to suffer heavy losses.
The insurgency has killed more than 30,000 people and displaced millions of civilians in affected areas. President Muhammadu Buhari, in his second-term inaugural speech on Wednesday, said the government was providing more support for the security forces in terms of money and equipment. Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police disclosed on Friday that about 100 bandits invaded a community in Katsina State on Thursday but were repelled with a 70-year-old suspect arrested.
This was contained in a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isah, a Superintendent of Police. According to the statement, “On 13/06/2019 at about 11:55hrs, a distress call was received that about 100 armed bandits were seen around Pauwa village, Kankara LGA of Katsina State with about 50 stolen cows. “A joint patrol team comprising Operations Puff Adder and Sharan Daji was mobilised to the scene. “On arrival, the teams engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel which made them retreat and escape into the rough and hilly mountainous area of Rugu forest. “One Bawa Naganda (male) aged 70 was arrested at the scene. The teams extended patrol to other villages and on reaching Danbirgima forest, the team sighted three persons on a motorcycle.
“The men on the motorcycle opened fire at the team, then abandoned the motorcycle and tried to escape. The team returned fire and as a result, one Kurma (male) was shot dead, while one Isah Babai (male) aged 25 and one Ali Beti (male) were arrested by the security forces.
Investigation is ongoing, according to the statement.
Xisnin: So what? When dumb Obama banned Nigeria from getting arms, it is expected that we patronize the black market.
But let's think out of the box a while. Nigeria has no external enemy. Nigeria imports arms and munition frequently. To use against who?
Nigeria has only internal enemies: (1) dissidents like Boko Haram and the 12 sharia states of northern Nigeria who want a theocratic country to be ruled with Islamic Sharia criminal codes, but Nigeria's constitution would not permit;
(2) Nigeria's other enemies are dissident groups like secessionist IPOB from the south where politicians have asked for up to 20 years for a democratic restructure of Nigeria's fraudulent political system/structure and constitution respectively created and ordered by northern Nigeria's military dictators. Request for restructure usually spurned by northern Nigeria
Instead of restructure Nigeria politically in a democracy, Nigeria's political class acquire arms and ammunition regularly to kill off the dissidents.
Imo1stson: Beyond the Presidency thing I've never seen where a Governor has worked so much that the major issue is either looking for fault in his works or searching for what he has not done. It simply means he did well but is being attacked because of other things outside good governance and most likely envy.
People see a state governor who builds nearly 95% of his development projects in just one locality - state capital - as insane. A state governor who does not understand that govt provides drinking water to citizens, but builds grandiose structures with no economic significance all over the state capital. That's the coco in Okorocha's failure.
MyGeneration: Rocha's Tried. He is best Governor IMO ever had since 1999
Okorocha tried too much for Owerri.
Provided the next governor faces development outside Owerri from May 29, but maintains the Owerri infrastructures. Provided next governor understands that gov Okorocha faced development of only Owerri because of his age-old problems against Orlu people. Provided the next governor understands that Okorocha did all these development wonders in Owerri with the 8 years federal allocations of the 12 local govt ares in Orlu zone, 9 local government areas of Owerri zone, and the 6 local government areas of Okigwe zone. As local government allocations go straight to the local government areas from June 1, we shall no more tolerate the sinking of much of Imo state's capital development funds on expansion and beautification of Owerri while Orlu and other Imo towns remain glorified villages - million miles of development behind Owerri. This pattern of development in Imo state is not obtainable in any other country of civilised people.
Ofuzo: This is what I've been telling people for the longest time. Some people are crying that okorocha developed only owerri. This is actually an acknowledgement that okorocha performed. As far as I know, 99% of other governors did not develop any city. The only other governor I know that performed very well was umahi. Just like okorocha, the man built some stuff.
No nigerian governor is capable of developing one city at a time, talkless three cities at the same time.
If nigerians want their cities to develop, they must elect mayors and empower them to raise revenue for their cities development. Anybody waiting for a state governor to come and develop their city, will be waiting for ever. Four years from today, orlu and okigwe will still be looking the way it has looked for the past 40 years.
So when I become next governor of Imo, I develop only my hometown, watch Owelle's Owerri crumble in 8 years; abi oo? This is Owelle's style. Owelle even bulldoze or stifle what other governors built in areas he hates, as he did in Orlu. Imo is fast going down as a state. Only a tiny portion of the state - Owerri which is not up to 10% of land mass of Imo - is truly fit for modern habitation. Even northern states are doing better than Imo. I shook head for Imo people.
Yes. A leadership that can accept the fact that Nigeria's problem is from its political system, and accept to have the country restructured politically for good.
Imo1stson: This is located in Orlu and it is well built by Rytegate better than most teaching hospitals. All the new Governor needs to do is move the staff, equipments and students of Imsuth here and convert the former Imsuth to a secondary school. I'm sure Uche Nwosu would have done that for good.
Loool. What do you think made Uche Nwosu not become governor? You suck. Pray the Ogboko building does not become a zoo when the new govt comes in May 29 2019. What law established a university teaching hospital in Ogboko? Imo state remains allergic to a cruel governor who wasted its eight years resources on building empty brick and iron structures every where to suit his emperor political calculations/. Between Orlu and Ogboko, which has more political heavyweights?
Eco101: Same thing I told my friend yesterday. Two major reasons the North didn't vote for Atiku were largely due to his promise to restructure Nigeria and to Privatize NNPC. It is glaring that these two proposals make economic sense but due to political parasitism by the North, ethnic bigotry and self-centeredness, they will never allow this country to move forward. Everybody knows of a truth that the present NNPC is just a shadow of itself but some Nigerians hate the truth. I think Atiku should have played Buhari kind of politics - promise heaven and Earth and lie to the North in order to get their votes. Most Nigerians don't like who tells them the truth. That politically nailed Atiku.
Atiku knew that Nigeria can't go far with this political structure. Atiku means well for his north for restructuring;
because when this country breaks soon violently, northern NIgeria shall be greatest losers.
Britain shall have no reason again to fight to keep one NIgeria, one NIgeria where Sani shall be talking of NNPC and sharing oil revenue. Ignorance is a bliss.
Osagyefo98: Secretary-General of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Anthony Sani, speaks with GODWIN ISENYO on a number of national issues including why the forum was against the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, in the recent election
What is your view on the just concluded general elections in the country?
I think there was a kind of improvement over the past elections. Nigerians, who have become more enlightened, helped to change what used to hold sway in the previous elections in which only big names called the shots. In a way, plutocracy and kleptocracy are giving way to democracy that is premised on triple foundation of justice, liberty and decency. Did you see what happened to those who defected from their political parties? There are some states where President Muhammadu Buhari won with a wide margin but the contests for the governorship were a different ball game. In fact, some governors might lose those states in the rerun that arose from the contests. That shows the electorate considered not just political parties but the performance and character of the candidates as well. This is heartening and healthy development for our democracy.
Before the presidential election, the ACF endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress against a fellow northerner and candidate of the Poeples Democrtaic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. What informed this decision?
It is true that it is not the policy and practice of the ACF to endorse party candidates outright. What the forum does is to provide leadership qualities required for purposeful leadership and party manifesto of political parties and performance of candidates. This is to enable voters to make informed judgement during elections. But that does not mean when the need arises, the ACF would not endorse a candidate. You know there is always a deviation from the norm. In the extant case, the forum was of the view that inspite of some shortcomings of the APC, the ruling party, it is still the best for the country in the circumstance; moreso, that the main opposition party (PDP) made restructuring of the country and sale of the government assets its campaign mantra. This is against the fact that this country has undergone different kinds of restructuring, such as political, economic and geographical; and any further restructuring may be unhelpful. And given the fact that the past sale of government assets did not yield the desired results, the forum was not favourably disposed to any further sale of the government assets. Rather, prudent management of national resources should be what matters. After all, Lagos State is being governed under the same structure and form of government which some people believe is not working.
But the ACF had earlier said it had no preferred presidential candidate for the 2019 election. Why did the group make a sudden U-turn?
The outright endorsement of President Buhari was spurred by the need for the regime to consolidate on its performance, against the campaign by the PDP candidate to restructure the country and sell government asset such as the NNPC as well as the character of the parties concerned.
How do you react to the allegation that the ACF was heavily pressured or forced to endorse the President since the PDP candidate was endorsed by some socio-cultural bodies such as the Afenifere, Middle Belt Forum, Northern Elders Forum, PANDEF and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo?
The ACF was not pressured by anybody or government to endorse President Buhari. The endorsement was done after due consideration of the performance, campaign promises and strength of character of the parties concerned.
daddytime: Na waa...lives wasted at random and will and the President as usual is deaf and dumb to all..
My maiguard just told me this morning that his village in Southern Kaduna was invaded by the fulanis who razed down churches with worshippers gathered therein. I'm surprised no outlet is reporting this yet..
Which president? The president Buhari who gave Nigeria an election that looks like Iran versus Iraq War, in his plot to make Nigeria become a property of his Fulani group, including the Fulani from Niger Republic.
Rochas Okorocha wants to turn Imo state into pools of blood before he goes.
Because of his iberibe, he did not understand that he should have sponsored someone else not his close relation as a successor to check his back after May 29.
that is why someone like Cockrochas is still talking about politics in that state.
chai... I pity them shaa. If them let Hope or Nwulu win...
as for the other guy...
Okorocha handpicked legislators of the State House of Assembly in 2015 election; that's how he got away from impeachment, still perpetrates misdeeds against the people of his state.
After eight years, he still believes that President Buhari shall place his son-in-law as governor of Imo state.
