Sheuns: Lagos made a law that forbids breaking the lockdown rules. Those that gathered at Kyari’s burial were not in Lagos and are not governed by Lagos laws. The President forbade it all in both Lagos and Abuja in his lockdown speech. So equal law applies to them both. They were all violating Federal Government laws and should all be punished. The Police obey both state and federal laws. Violators at abuja burial should had been arrested too. This is double standards. They are all aiding in spreading the virus. |

Imustsurvive: you are supporting immorality! if you want to talk, talk like a man and stop beating around the bush. I don't think he's in support, he's against it. No one should violate the lockdown law. He's just highlighting the hypocrisy and double standards of the government. Why should those that violated the law during the burial go Scott free? Both lagos and abuja are operating under the same law. The same lockdown was pronounced in them both by the president. But some offenders are left free while some offenders are punished. All should be punished. They all are contributing to the spread of the pandemic. |

And more also by this act he'll be scaring away future investors who want to come to the state. Even existing investors. This issue could had easily been resolved without escalating it to this level but wike decided to make it political. Oil and gas doesn't shut down for corona, they are essential workers. If health protocols were breached, i don't think it warrants this level of response. But I don't know if wikes allegations against caverton are true, if so that was bad of caverton. |

Throwback: Hasn't the aviation minister representing the Federal Government state clearly that Caverton got clearance to operate the flight?
Or was Wike expecting that he should be the one to grant such clearance?
I hope Wike remembers his time as a Federal Minister and how the Federal Government can frustrate a state government like he did to Rotimi Amaechi.
Time for neighboring states to benefit from Caverton's relocation from Rivers. The problem is, the oil companies they service are located and based in rivers state. Wike is really showing FG his power and strength here, and calling their bluff. It's a PDP vs APC fight. Tinubu and Lagos State have interests in caverton. Wike is hitting them wherever it hurts. |

Tankunland: The next morning I and my former customer started our journey to ijebu in his 2018 Toyota Camry ride, now this guy and many of them in my area then where like brothers to me, some of us all played football together and I was extremely generous to them wheb I was working. I was like the go to guy when many young guys in my area was hungry then, i could be at work and they call and say baba i dey hungry oo and I say go meet so and so woman and collect 500 or 1k to eat so it was easy for them to assist me in there own way they thought.
While we journeyed I asked him what would his babalawo would asked of me because I knew what those Yahoo boy's did or are doing to make fetish money because I entered their rooms to clean it when I worked in the hotel. We had 15 rooms in my hotel and 10 of those rooms were always been occupied by this Yahoo boys, even though I was the assistant manager they only allowed me clean there rooms so I saw so many things and I could tell you Yahoo isn't what any young boy should do please.
he told me his babalawo won't asked for much and what concerns money he would take care of it for me so I felt a bit relieved that I won't be spending any money. We got to ijebu and the Papa told me that what I needed to do was something small that all of these boys coming to his place all did it and I asked baba what would I do and he said I would get a goat for the sacrifice that I would bath with his blood and rasak said he would get it and the baba gave me a white piece of clothes just like a shape of an handkerchief and said when I and the woman I love the most is done making love I should rub her vaginal with it and her womb would be gone forever and I should back with it and if I don't make 5 million in 48 hours I should come with a gun to kill him.
Guy's I kid you not I froze immediately, my mouth was wide agast, I didn't know what to mutter or say all I told baba was let me go home and think about it some more and when we were driving back to Lagos all I could think of was how could i do this to my shola, all I could picture is was her beautiful smiles and when we got to Lagos and Rasak dropped me I deleted his number that moment. He even gave me 5k again but I couldn't accept it because I now fully grasp what he did to make such money and the number of young girls that came into his room each day I only SMH and I remember taking the laptop to computer village the next day and sold it for 20k just to please my family. Now let me talk about the second temptation Thank God for your life. Thanks for this inspirational testimony. You have touched people here on nairaland. Remain strong, remain blessed. Please what exactly do you see in those Yahoo boy's rooms at the hotel when you go to clean it? Please educate the rest of us so whenever we see such anywhere, whether in people's home or public places or anywhere, we should know. This knowledge can save a life someday. Some people might appear innocent and religious and all but you never know the evil they're into. We shouldn't be naive of the ways of the enemy. Thanks. I'm guessing you're from Taraba state. Mizwisdom: Continue shouting lock down, but if eventually they lock down these people you claim to care about will not be paid, they might die of hunger before corona gets them Salaries will be paid and people will stock up. Essential services providers will still be on duty. Lock down isn't forever. There will be advance notice. It's a drastic temporary step to help contain the spread to a low acceptable manageable level. No country can survive an indefinite lockdown. There are procedures before a lockdown. And mind you, i didn't even say the whole country. I mentioned specific cities. Wuhan in china did it and it worked. Should we sit and do nothing? Even if yes Nigeria may nit be as advanced as the other nations battling the pandemic but so should we then do Nothing? Okay so then, what do YOU propose as your solution? Since you fault other people's proposed solution then let's hear yours. Between the consequences of covid-19 spread and the consequences of food running out or any other action or inaction, which will kill faster? Should we wait till our case reaches the extent of Europe? Can't we learn from the experience and mistakes of the Nations who passed through similar fate before us? Must we repeat the same mistakes? Let's get our priorities right please. Chei, please digest things well before you type or respond. |

Timson01: Hello NL,
Before I got married my husband said he needed 2 children while I wanted twins but our second pregnancy was twins so we had 3 instead. Then I took implant so to avoid getting pregnant again but my system became messed up that my monthly flow would last for 2 to 3 weeks. So after 3 years I decided to remove it so to get back myself only for me to get pregnant instead and I found out when I was already 3 months gone and the pregnancy is causing me to be in so much pain that I can’t move at times making my husband do everything at home cause i’m always in bed Now I discovered my husband is chatting another lady calling her babe and the rest although he assured me that he accepts this baby but I feel we are getting apart by the day.what do you suggest i do? I can’t even have proper sex with him because my heart rate increases and I can’t move afterwards. Yes he was the one who took me to the hospital for removal we have been together for 11+years now Just before I got pregnant I was having a lot of guys wooing me that my husband became very active in his affections towards me and it made me feel like I’m being courted again then this happened The worst part is that I’m in physical pain. I can’t satisfy his desires. He even made me watch porn movies with him but I’m just too tired to respond to him. I have never been like this but I don’t know what to do He has no parents as they pass away his senior brother just got married and always asks for marriage tips from us so saying this to him now I just can’t bring myself to do so. Should I still keep the baby although I can’t bring myself to do anything to my child i just feel all this wouldn’t have come up if I didn’t get pregnant.
Anonymous NL Member Keep your child. All this is just a phase that will soon be over. You, and him, and everything, be back to normal soon after delivery, no stress. |

An airline dead on arrival. It's only a matter of time before it is overrun by their nephews and relatives. Nigerian states or federal governments cannot run airline business. It is a rigorous venture. It will only take successive govt with other priorities to squash it.
Unsustainable development has been Nigeria's biggest challenge. Prioritizing programs that have zero impact on baseline economic indices.
Richdad Let's not discourage them. Let's try to be optimistic and positive give them a chance. Its a good start. There is always a first time for something to start going right. In Ethiopia aviation is on of the biggest revenue earners and employment for the government and whole country. |

MrBrownJay1: let me educate you a little: creating a business is not about charity, you are trying to find a proper group of individuals that will carry your vision and help your business grow. bringing some negativity (or poisonous people) within that group of individuals is not only counter productive but also foolish.... that would certainly create problem in the future, for you, your employees AND your business. yes life is about flexibility/compromises and much more. most importantly, your job as the "leader" is to make sure that your employees find themselves in the right environment to flourish and perform their task, possibly in a fun manner, and certainly not to bring possible virus that may shatter the bond created at the place of work. i understand that any jobseeker would want bosses to take chances on them (blind charity), but let me be the bearer of bad news: running a company has NOTHING to do with charity.
being human has absolutely NOTHING to do with giving someone (that does NOT feel right) a job. using your brain is the answer here. each and everyone of us should be judged/treated by what we put out and do. its called CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTONS. if you want to treat everybody the same way, regardless of their actions then so be it.... smart people know better, and MUST take firm decisions on what is obvious, whether a person likes it or not. people who think like you do are the ones who would think that i shouldnt fire people who made grave mistakes (because they have a family to feed etc) or that i shouldnt get rid of people in the workplace because you have been with us for a long time. ARRANT NONSENSE! you could be the best employee and still be fired, if that is beneficial to the company ( as much as you may not like to hear it).... and thats the type of hard choices BOSSES have to make on a daily basis.
the workplace is a constant battle, and in Nigeria where there are thousands who could replace you, you best be at the top of your game (aka perfect) if not then your job is at risk.
let me ask you: if someone reported you to the police for a crime that you "supposedly" committed, would you blame the police for investigating you for that crime?!
what she did would be irrelevant to the employer... the negative vibe following that person is what matters here. what else will her friends bring to the company, when she starts working for that firm? what type of other negativity are they gonna bring to that firm?! Okay. I won't argue further. Just to point out few things: 1. She's not being employed based on charity, she passed the interviews and tests and merited the job. 2. Your analogy of not sacking a staff who has made a grave mistake, based on long service or having family to feed doesn't count here because those things happened in the company where the staff presently works, but here the company is taking their decision and judging her based on what they heard happened somewhere, not that she did something to them or to their organization. Yeah life has consequences but she paid by loosing her job. 3. Google about "employing someone with a criminal record" etc or similar topic, to see the stand governments and successful large and small organizations have on the subject matter. I bet you'll be surprised. |

MrBrownJay1: irrelevant to the employer...
how is that relevant to the employer?! should the employer suddenly give a damn?!
the negativity that this person has around her is enough to stay clear of her... what other BS does she have in store?
yes they do, she will certainly get another chance in the future with another firm.
its called LIFE CONSEQUENCES
use negativity and a person bringing bad vibes to the company?! really? how exactly?!
what future are you talking about? its called making a sound decision for your company, and making sure you have all the right elements in your staff/crew. YES, your past sins are part of who you are today, therefore you should be judged upon it.
yes they do, but you certainly CANNOT force people to feel positive about these negative people and/or employ them by force) do you?... expecting people to just miraculously forget that these are ex criminals or whatever negative stuff about them, is a joke. example: i could NEVER employ someone who was convicted of theft/fraud/yahoo-yahoo, murder, rape etc.... if someone could steal once, then the day they are in need, it would be very easy for them to do it again. FACT! That's okay. Your choice, your way. I think you're being too principled and hardlined and extreme. That's not a good quality in managing or leading people, if you hope to do that someday. It will create problems. Life is also about flexibility and compromises. We are all humans not robots or machines. No one is perfect or can't find themselves in unpleasant circumstances, dileberately or unkowingly. Even you could end up in an unpleasant circumstances, in any manner, it may not be about job search. You surely won't like to be treated and judged so, it's not really about whether you'll like it or not but i feel that's not the right way to treat people. It's easy to talk till you get to experience it someday. I never have but i can empathise. I'm not justifying her actions especially if she did so deliberately but I'm just trying to be human. |

MrBrownJay1: if you have a questionable past to the point that your future employer may change their mind about you, then why is that wrong?!?! that friend saved that employer from future sorrow about that questionable individual. What if she has a change of heart? And is now just trying to make ends meet? After escaping the harsh labor market. What if the whole allegation was just a set up by some envious individuals and bosses in a former organization? And making her to take the fall. Yes such things do happen in real life. People deserve a second chance. Is she supposed to be suffering and paying for that deed forever? Her whole life? Whether innocent or guilty? I believe the new employer could had even use that info to their advantage, to get the girls commitment and loyalty to the new job. And letting her know they are aware. If everyone is judged for their future based on their past sins then almost the whole world will not move forward. Only the saints. I guess you're one of the saints. Even convicted criminals of some worse crimes get released from jail after a while. And get another shot at life. |
