CrimeRe: Australian Teenager Claims She Was Raped By This Nigerian [SEE PHOTOS] by Amazo:
Today's generation is all swag but no substance. It's all a shallow outward facade of glitter and bling but no real depth of honor. It's so disturbing seeing people, especially youths, with a shameless character driven purely by the vilest animal instincts in its lowest form of pure savagery without any sense of discipline, dignity, and rationality.

Right now I don't have a daughter (thank goodness grin) but if and when I do have a daughter, i'm going to tattoo "amazo" on the back of her left hand. I advice every man in this world who's into raping or plans to räpe to always check the back side of the left hand if there's an amazo tatt. Because if you räpe my daughter, you will be disappeared and no law, no government, no god...no nothing can stop me. I will do anything possible and impossible to find you; and when I do find you, there will be hell to pay. It will be so horrendously horrific, you will think i'm the devil's incarnate. You will beg to die because of overwhelming horror, but atlas you won't even have a mouth again to speak with at that point because you'll be dismembered piece by piece. Even after death, your pathetic remains (or whatever is left of you) will be vaporized and i'll feed your bones to beasts. In matters like this, I don't forget and I don't forgive.

My policy is simple: I have never raped and I will never räpe any man's daughter, no matter the age; and so, nobody is permitted to räpe mine or any woman that's dear to me. This world won't be big enough to contain us if you do, and it won't be big enough that I can't find you. Besides, it's just not possible because if I have a daughter, i'll fully protect her during the vulnerable years and when she's come of age, she will be more than capable to protect herself. Combat wise, i'll have her trained to be that good; and weapons wise, she'll always have a concealed carry. If a man tries to räpe her, I'll be so happy to hear that she beat the crap out of him and put a bullet in his head. Pepper spray is for weaklings.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) Pastor E.A Adeboye, met and prayed for UK Prime Minister, David Cameron during the congregation at the ‘Festival of Life’ programme which held in London...

After the preyaer session, most Nigerians are talking about this picture of Pastor Adeboye praying for David Cameron and he was standing on his feet, while president Jonathan was on both knees when he prayed for him before the election. Iconic singer ,Seun Kuti shared his opinion.

So guys, do you agree with him or not?
The pastor is the subject, and both leaders are the objects in this case. Looking at both pics scientifically and pragmatically, the subject (pastor) is a constant. In both cases, he simply prayed. Considering the objects, it's obvious this is the source and cause of disparity: one object was being fake and acting like the usual political hypocrite he is; and the other was unpretentious and kept it real. Now which object is fake and which is real is left for you to decide grin

PoliticsRe: Lagos To Join Oil Producing States In 2015 by Amazo: 10:54am On Apr 16, 2015
princdebola201:
Lagos State is set to join the league of oil producing states in the country come next year as the joint venture partners on the Aje Field offshore Lagos have taken the final investment decision on the exploration of the field.

A group led by Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Company Limited took the FID to develop the first phase of the Aje shallow water oil field for $220m.

The aim of the first phase is to produce 10,000 barrels per day of oil from two target wells in the Oil Mining Lease 113 area. A re-entry of Aje-4 will form the first producer, while drilling of Aje-5 is expected to be the second.

The plans include the use of Rubicon’s Front Puffin floating production, storage and offloading vessel, which produced oil from the Puffin field in the Timor Sea. The vessel will be brought up to specification soon, while the procurement of subsea equipment and the contracting of a drilling rig are progressing.

The Aje field’s first stage is scheduled to be brought on stream at the end of 2015.

“We believe that this development is good for Nigeria generally because our reserves base has not increased over the years as expected, because the international oil companies are not ready to invest since the Petroleum Industry Bill has not been passed,” an elated Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Lagos State, Mr. Taofiq Tijani, told our correspondent.

Yinka Folawiyo is the operator with 25 per cent interest in the field. The partners are Vitol, 24.05 per cent; First Hydrocarbons Nigeria Limited, 16.875 per cent; Energy Equity Resources Limited, 16.875 per cent; Panoro Energy ASA, 12.19 per cent; and Jacka Resources Limited, five per cent.

The JV partners had in January 2014 submitted the Field Development Plan for the Aje field to the Department of Petroleum Resources. The FDP was approved in March and is primarily focused on the development of the Cenomanian oil reservoir.

The FDP envisages first oil commencing in late 2015 with mid-case reserves of 32.4 million barrels.

The first phase of development includes two subsea production wells tied back to a leased FPSO. These wells will most likely comprise the re-completion of the existing Aje-4 well and a new well drilled close to the Aje-2 subsurface location.

In addition, further potential on the block is being defined following the 3D seismic acquisition across both OPL 310 and OML 113.

Lagos State had last year established its oil and gas company following the passage of a bill that sought to establish the Ibile Oil and Gas Corporation.

The bill was to authorise the state government to invest and engage in oil and gas activities.

http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/lagos-to-join-oil-producing-states-in-2015/
This is some good news. However, with the shale oil boom in the US, and alternative energy technology in full swing in developed countries, crude prices are doomed to fall to relatively near obscurity in the coming years. Any serious government that has the future in sight had better start diversifying. Technology is the future. Any government serious about the future should build a technology-driven economy. Oil revenues alone won't suffice any longer to meet the financial needs of Nigeria with an estimated population of about 170m people and growing; and excessive corruption is still endemic in the government system. God bless Lagos State and God bless Nigeria.

bigfrancis21:
Well then, let SE and SS leave. The election results show SS and SE reunited against the North-West hegemony. With just the north and west left in Nigeria, Nigeria will be a complete failure, never to be heard of in the annals of history.

Meanwhile, their next-door neighbour - SS + SE, will wax stronger - thanks to Nollywood, Crude oil, and the hardworking and talented traits of its people. Also probably a country with the best African military with funds there to support it. Nigeria would be a joke to dare rub shoulders with Biafra.
Hahahaha! This is quite funny grin. I've said and will continue to say that the SS as a geopolitical entity has its unique tribes and distinct cultures that are different from the SE. Not only this, the social ideology and political aspirations of the SS is completely different from the SE. So it's incredibly amusing how the ibos keep trying to usurp the uniqueness of the SS's cultural identity and replace it with theirs. Ibos can keep subtly claiming the SS all you want but they are different, this is a fact of life. This political subtlety won't work because the SS have a mind of their own and they have proven themselves repeatedly over time to be smart people and can't be fooled by such political maneuverings with malicious intent.

But the idea is this, the seeming political "Frankenstein friendship" created between the SE and the SS was and is due to each region's calculated pursuit of its engendered political and socioeconomic goals, and their incapacitation and inability under the Nigeria's political framework to accomplish these political and socioeconomic goals. So the question is this: what does the SE want? Biafra!!! This is largely the ibos idea of political and socio-economic independence. The SE can only achieve this through secession. On the other hand, what does the SS want? 100% resource control or at least a substantial chunk of the derivation formula. This is the SS idea of political and socio-economic independence. The SS can achieve this either by secession or by true federalism, where each region is given full autonomy over its resources and predetermined contributions are made to the center. From the perspective of a political venn diagram, the socioeconomic and political goals of the SE and SS are akin to two distinct sets, with a common intersection of "secession", which is the shaky foundation upon which the fragile inflammable friendship between the SE and SS is built. Each region sees the other as a political tool to accomplish its own individual aim. And that's why ibos always include the SS in their plans and arrogant vocal clamoring for self-actualization (just like you did now). Ibos can't just desist from dragging the SS into their "Biafra business". But the interesting question to ask is why: why do the ibos always associate the SS with their socioeconomic and political ambitions? Well, maybe it's because the ibos can't achieve secession without the SS...or can they? Oh what the heck am I saying, of course the SE can achieve its goal of independence without the SS. Then why does the SE, as a self-appointed hero, keep making the SS its political sidekick in trying to wrest its political independence from its hated and despised self-professed formidable villain called Nigeria - it's #1 foe? Simple, it's because of the OIL. The SE have their sights set on SS oil. Anyone can deny it all they want, but the truth is everybody in Nigeria likes free oil money grin that just so happens to be in SS territory. Of course, it's no astronomical science that hundreds of billions dollars revenue annually can do lots of magic to any independent state, especially an African country. But it seems this is just another usual political miscalculations of the SE, because if joint secession were to become reality because the SS will never accept to be a part of Biafra and never allow the SE access to joint ownership of any drop of oil in its territory. So if the SE is dreaming about building Biafra with SS oil, then by all means push the snooze button and keep dreaming grin

As for the SS, as mentioned earlier, its socioeconomic and political goals can be achieved through either secession or true federalism. Now, forming an opportunistic political alliance (albeit temporal) with the SE who are hellbent on realizing Biafra is a preferred path for secession. This way, they play sidekick to the "heroic" SE that will set itself at the forefront of constituting a political nuisance to Nigeria up to the extent that Nigeria will get frustrated and bequeath its prodigal son its inheritance of statehood and send it packing from its territory. If this were to happen, then the SS has ingeniously achieved its aspirations with the smallest deployment of its resources: manpower, assets...etc (didn't I tell you they're are a smart people and they play smart politics too). The alternative means is "true federalism". Under this arrangement the SS can have 100% resource control and in turn make contributions to the center; or at worst. be given a substantial derivation formula than what its getting currently. My guess is anything around 75% in this case and the SS will be satisfied. Under this scenario, the SS gets to eat its cake and have it. That is, they wouldn't and don't need to secede from Nigeria; and truth be told the SS do not want to secede from Nigeria. Give them total or much greater resource control and the SS will gladly continue with "One Nigeria". Because except for the problem of resource control, the SS ordinarily have no subconscious hate for Nigeria unlike the SE, who have vehemently refused to get over its case of retribution against Nigeria for the unfortunate civil war of 1967. Now, true federalism is the political future of Nigeria, the direction it's heading to. So in time, the SS if it holds on, will eventually get what it deserves. But right now isn't ripe due to the fact that the militant mafias are still very much active and extremely powerful forces negatively influencing the region's socioeconomic and political framework and huge obstacles to its development. There's a sensible reason the civilized world doesn't want a nuclear armed Iran; same way it would be a disaster to Nigeria to let the autonomous control of the SS resources fall into the crop of militant mafias currently bedeviling the region. After such are neutralized in terms of limiting their political and social influences, or put on shorter and shorter leashes like the ACN has been and is doing to OPC in the SW, then autonomy can follow in the SS. This is common sense.

Therefore, how ever you look at it, the SE is on its own in its self-made journey to its promised land of Biafra. Your subtle and open plans to carry the SS along won't work. In time, the SS will let you walk alone in the political wilderness.

Don't them bro

Why Igbos looking for war where there is none?

Why are Igbos instigating Ijaws against other Nigerians?

Why can't Igbos see the handwriting on the wall that they are on their own among the rest?

This sudden relationship with Ijaws(There is nothing like Niger-delta except federal allocation period) was only established on the platform of bigotry, hatred(a at part of Igbos), and of course tribaslism.

Why can't Igbos come forward to kick against Jonathan government that was ceremoniously laced up with Nepotism?

Why can't Igbos speak up against marginalisation of other regions under Jonathan administration? Who does this below since Independence?

President-Bayelsa-Igbo(Nnamdi Azikiwe)
SGF-ISGF-Igbo
Deputy Senate-Igbo
Deputy Speaker-Igbo
CBN Governor -Igbo
Minister for Finance- Igbo
Printing and Minting- Igbo
Petroleum minister-Bayelsa

I said it here in 2014 that Igbos have done this marginalisation business before under Aguiyi Ironsi regime; equally laced up with the most opened tribal marginalisation of all time. I remember telling them that it ll backfire but as usual, they started drooling on themselves

We all seemed to have forgotten what happened during Fuel subsidy removal campaign, Igbos carried out opposition campaign against that famous campaign in their regions simply out of hatred and bigotry.

Igbos will do their evil against others and would expect others not to pay them back with their own coins

Who benefit most in all this Nigeria arrangement?

First republic- Igbo was the president( Yoruba opposition)

Second republic- Igbo was vice-president(Yoruba opposition)

Third-Yoruba president and Igbo senate president(Okadigbo,Nnamani, Wabara), Finance - Igbo, CBN - IGBO ...........

Fourth-Vice president Ijaw-Igbo(Nnamdi Azikiwe Jonathan)

Who benefit most in federal allocation? Igbos

South west states pay for the O' level exams of thousands of Easterners' children living in South west states out of their monthly allocations while Igbo states enjoy 90% of their federal allocations.

South west statss pay the Easterners in civil service commissions in all the south west states out of their federal allocation while south east commissions are filled up with 99% Igbos

There are thousands of Easterners in South west using social infrastructure meant for this region while south east is filled up with 95% easterners.

Go to the North, Igbos children o'level exams are equally paid for

Go to the North and the West to see how Obas and Emirs/Sultans allowed Ezes igbo title to be used in their kingdoms; have their meeting with their Igbo people in their respective local areas. Can anybody tell me how many Baale or Northern chief are in their domain?

It's quite sad that the same Igbos are the one abusing other Nigerians who have given them more than what they have given these Nigerians.

I pray for Nigeria separation so as to allow Igbos to see the damage they have done to themselves.

Finally, SE should desist from bringing SS people into their hatred rhetorics cos the last time I checked the people in the Niger-delta formation, Edos, Urhobos, Egberis and of course Itshekiris are still part of it. I only hope that Igbos are not banking on these people in case they get what they are asking for.

Go and read the histories of these nations I had mentioned above and guess where their allegiance would be in eventuality of war. We don't want to hear WE WERE BETRAYED Ooo.
This is brilliant but alas their minds are too hardened and ibos choose to ridicule infallible facts that expose their deplorable inter-tribal relations with all tribes. Yes, the SS are a distinct group of people with different tribes and unique cultures and this can never change no matter how the ibos try to label them as part of their brutish societies. Ibos should desist dragging the SS into their failed political miscalculations. If the ibo tribe wants to go down into the cesspit of political oblivion in Nigeria, go down alone and leave the SS out of it.

Lol. Amazo, I love the great job you did in that post. I would love that we start raising our voices and opening posts like this that talk to truth and prick the conscience of our leaders to act. In all likelihood Seun will not act to reinstate the post. We must not be discouraged.
I have good first hand information, as you correctly pointed out, that our leaders have initiated action to clean house, starting with Yoruba sellouts. They have nothing to fear, we have a new momentum nationally for four years and we will plug all the holes from lessons learnt in the Jonathan administration.

I would like to discourage Yorubas from adopting a reconciliatory attitude in matters concerning Ibo.

Remarks such as the following are irrelevant in their contempt for us...." I have many ibo friends....there are some good Ibos...... some Ibos not all......I grew up with Ibos.....I went to school with Ibos.....some of their leaders are sensible...."

People that insult our institutions and legendary leaders do not deserve our empathy or conciliatory tone. In response to their hatred we must display hostility and enmity. The land owner does not yield to pressure fromthe invader....rather the invader must be squeezed and made to feel the oppresive power of the indigene and then learn his limits and the consequences of stepping out of line.

This is the Hausa solution and it works effectively. Hausas are not animals as we wont to think, they are more humane than Ibos. Hausas never killed Yorubas until Ibos who left Yorubaland and speak Yoruba language to go do business in North began claiming they are Yorubas when caught in acts that violate the Hausa ethos. In the confusion and dilution Hausas stopped caring to separate and started killing all Southerners.

So not only has Ibo done deep damage in our land, they have also done severe damage in others land in the name of Yoruba.

Our leaders must change this mess. I know theycare waiting on regionalism to put total controls in....but in the meantime some immediate action in the current structure need to be implemented.

Good job on that hidden post my brother.
With all the misinformation the ibos have been spreading about Lagos State, someone really needed to slap them with a dose of truth. Seun is not a tribalist, he is quite neutral. It was some moderator that hid it, but it has since been restored. But moved to the ethnicity section.
PoliticsRe: Why Are Igbos Falling Behind In Nigeria? -james Agazie Ed D by Amazo: 9:01am On Apr 13, 2015
bogzyboy:
My former student and I had a heated discussion over "Why are we Igbos falling behind in Nigeria?" Dr. O and I are Igbos of Anambra origin and have had the knack of bantering over the progress of our people. This time, Dr. O disputed every argument I presented since he believes Igbos in Nigeria and abroad are faring rather poorly in every aspect of human endeavor.

ME: "What of Igbo progress in education?

DR. O: "No, Igbos are making no strides. In fact, they are regressing educationally".

ME: "Don't Igbos have money?"

DR. O: "Not at all. Their money is useless without doing anything for their community. They build castles in Northern Nigeria and then are chased away while their home states remain largely undeveloped."

"What else?" I asked in desperation.

Dr. O: "Nothing else, Doc, You see, Igbos may end up being the underclass in Nigeria as they are hated by all the other tribes ".

He went on to discuss the exploding numbers of non-Igbo (Yoruba and Hausa) physicians, engineers, scientists, mathematicians, bankers, politicians, billionaires, and manufacturers scattered in Nigeria all over the world. Throwing my hands up in desperation, I asked my assailant: "Do you know that without Ndiigbo pioneers, Nigeria would not be where we now are educationally?" I repeated the question much to Dr. O's amusement. He thought I should know better than that. I am tempted to concluded that Ndigbo are falling behind because they are not interested in helping others and all this is happening while Igbos are neglecting some important personality issues that might be stunting their progress. That happens when Igbos are so busy chasing after "toro na afu" (pennies), just as the old proverb used to say "penny wise pound foolish".

Many Igbo professors I have known to be working at various American institutions of higher education have recently been dismissed before attaining tenured positions of full professorships. But there are scores of Yoruba Deans, Vice presidents, Vice Chancellors, and Provosts. I called two Yoruba men I know, a Vice President on the east coast and Associate Vice Chancellor at a large community college system on the west coast to ask "What are you doing right that the Igbos are doing wrong?" More Yoruba professors and professionals in the USA appear to be quieter, less troublesome, and get along better with spouses, colleagues, and the Americans in general. Some Igbo professionals appear to be louder, more quarrelsome and argumentative, more ostentatious, self- aggrandizing, and showy when displaying material stuffs like vehicles and houses. One Igbo Department Chairman had the habit of arguing with his university President at staff meetings until he was replaced with another mathematician. One Igbo physician had the engine of his Rolls-Royce running on display outside his office while attending to his patients. This doctor was more interested in acquiring best automobiles than in providing best patient care. He had to quit his practice in America and move to Nigeria when old patients moved away and new ones weren't forthcoming.

On US college campuses, Nigerian professors tend to look down on students, comparing them to Nigerian students they had taught much to the annoyance of faculty and staff. Though Nigerian professors are considered to be very intelligent, the Igbos tend to be held to lower esteem than the non-Igbos due to personality issues, including infighting. I saw this happen to three Igbo young men who obtained their PhD's from the same university in the same discipline and taught at the same university. They were from Enugu, Imo, and Anambra States and got on well in graduate for four years, often entertaining white faculty at their Nigerian parties to which they invited their white professors and other Nigerians. Trouble started after the Imo man graduated first and was hired as Department Chairman of a State school, and he hired the other two as Assistant Professors. The first two years of working together were fine until hell broke loose in the third year. The chairman turned autocratic, becoming openly confrontational, and being accused of bearing tales to the Dean to engineer dissent among the Department employees and have his friends fired. "Watch out," he told the Americans, "these Africans may take over the Department." He was right because the Nigerians were plotting to hire other Nigerian professors to form the majority and gain promotions and tenures through each other's recommendations A bitter war ensued, culminating in the Chairman's inability to function and eventual resignation. When I tried to mediate since I knew all three of these Igbo men, the Anambra man warned me to keep out. What happened was the Enugu professor relocated to Florida after former Chairman from Imo escaped to a quieter Texas city, leaving the lone Anambra professor to figure out the cause of bickering. I told him he was the fool and chief instigator of palaver.

Incidentally, I am tempted to initiate a blithering indictment of NdiIgbo and their leadership at home and abroad as cause of why Igbos are falling behind . Igbos do not get along in any organization. Bitter infightings are the order of the day. Petty jealousies, love of money and obsession with chieftaincy titles add up to render Ndigbo further disunited. We condemn the Igbo governors for failure to take care of the rest of us at the difficult times in our history as the Yorubas and Hausas have done for their people. We denounce Igbo parents and elders for over-emphasizing the pursuit of money over and above respect, education, and igwebuike (community unity) as instruments for Igbo nation-building. We accuse Igbo religious leadership of its unfaithfulness in abandoning their calling and prostituting (being akwunakwuna) after prosperity. We condemn Ndigbo in general for their excessive pursuit of "ebe onye si bia" (where one comes from). Ndiigbo have excessive clannishness (Abiasm, Enuguism, Imoisn, Anambraism, Ebonyism). We fault Igbo people in general for their abandonment of technical education that generates employment, and we condemn Igbos for their fixating on excessive use of defeat in Biafran War as unwarranted excuse for developing the inability to form relationships across tribal boundaries and for being lazy and remaining in deep stupor, trance, coma, daze, state of unconsciousness.

Having said this, why are Ndiigbo falling behind In Nigeria and in the United States? Are the Igbos discouraged in their circumstances? Are they brow-beaten as a result of losing the Biafran War? What is the cause of their feelings of being trapped, downtrodden, subjugated, broken, oppressed, demoralized, or exploited? Can we trace the demoralization of Ndiigbo to post traumatic syndrome (PTS) suffered from defeat, or atrocities of Biafran War? It is safe to believe the Igbos didn't suffer a defeat in war; they simply gained the opportunity to regroup, rethink, re-strategize, and return stronger and more resilient. Igbos have always bounced back. There is nothing shameful about falling down from time to time; but it is discreditable to remain on the ground after a fall. Isn't what seems to keep us Igbos down for 44 years since the Biafran War ended is that we are not united? Are we Igbos less likely to lift both ourselves and each other up after a fall? Are we carrying unnecessary baggages consisting of guilt, "mmegbu" (oppression); "anya ufu" (jealousy), "anya ukwu" (greed), and "obi –ojoo" (bitterness)?Let's look at some of our glaring problems.

In education, fewer Igbo children and adults are going to schools than they once did, than the Yorubas. More Igbos are interested in making money and dreaming of becoming billionaire Dangote or politician President Goodluck than they are in acquiring education for the love of it. More Yorubas are acquiring higher education to the PhD level than the Igbos. There are fewer Igbos in SEM (science, engineering, and mathematics) and technology (plumbing, air conditioning, airplane mechanic, etc) than there are in the other Nigerian tribes. In employment, more Igbos are unemployed and unemployable than the other tribes because Igbo employers are quite unwilling to employ other Igbos, and when they do employ, their Igbo employees would be robbing the business owner or doing their own businesses within the master's business.

Do the Igbos get along? No. Igbo States are more likely to be hot-beds (or boiling pots)of dissent, with strings of Ngiges, Ubas, and Rochas, Chimes vying for power in the midst of "esem okwu" (troubles). If you are Igbo Nigerian running for dear life from boko-controlled North, you are more likely to be denied employment in Igboland and asked to go to your state of origin than if you ran to Yorubaland. You are more likely to be robbed, kidnapped, or even killed if you venture into Igbo majority places than if you seek refuge in Igbo minority areas. If you were one of the 72 destitute Igbos in Lagos that Governor babbatunde Fashola deported to Onitsha bridge, other Igbos would most likely ignore you and not come to your aid, or you might end up being a bloated corpse floating in Ezu River. Self hatred, hatred of others and wickedness seem to be the hallmarks of the tribe Hausas refer to as Anyamiris. Igbos are drinking large quantities of Star lager, Heinekens, Extra Stout, palm wine, and burukutu to self-medicate. Igbo men are developing large onyeagba pot bellies that make men appear to be pregnant. More breweries are being built in Igboland and Ndigbo are likely to deaden their frustration through becoming alcoholics rather than they are to nourish their bodies with proper diets and exercise.

No one can compellingly argue against the fact that Ndigbo of Nigeria are a force to be reckoned with. Though Ndiigbo did amazing exploits before Nigeria became the Nigeria it is today, long before the granting of self-governing in 1960, today's Igbos are now as dormant as inactive volcanoes under the seas. Though Ndigbo did achieve tremendous, "forward ever" strides during the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's, the happenings among today's Igbos reflect "backward ever" syndrome. Think of the schools and cathedrals the Igbo did construct throughout Nigeria. Do you remember how Igbos provided the early manpower Nigeria needed as she marched towards sovereignty; the teachers, merchants, administrators, health workers, and miners? And if you add the fact that the Igbos have always loved education and are skilled in the accumulation of wealth, you'll begin to appreciate these people's indomitable spirit and adventurism. Indefatigability seems to be a better choice of words. To be indefatigable is to be incapable of being tired out; to be tireless, unflagging, unrelenting, unfaltering, remorseless, tenacious, resolute, inexorable Isn't it true that, all things being equal, some animals are more equal than their neighbors? It seems the Igbos are steadily becoming less equal in a country of 170 million souls.

Money alone cannot give Ndiigbo needed predominance. The question is : how much of Nigeria's money is controlled by Ndigbo? Let's say Igbos control over N930 trillion. A trillion (or a million million) is 1 followed by 12 zeros. A trillion is 1,000,000,000,000 to be exact. It's fair to wager that Nigeria would not be Nigeria without "ego Ndigbo" (Igbo wealth). My former student Dr. O wasn't impressed when I attempted to amaze him with a breathtaking estimate of Igbo wealth from the internet; it fell off his brain like water rolls off the back of a thickly feathered duck. Igbo investments are" hugomongous": not less than N600 trillion in Abuja; N10 trillion in Kano and Kaduna each; N5 trillion in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa States each; N15 trillion in Plateau State; and there is no Nigerian state where Igbo investments do not exceed 5trillion.

Read: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/07/the-igbos-have-more-at-stake-in-nigeria It is said that no Nigerian State or town can survive without Igbo economic contribution. What does it mean in terms of nsopulu (respect) and ako na uche (commonsense)?

Granted Igbos have so much Naira it comes out of their ears and mouths. The question is: what have they done with all that money? Economic power without political power to accompany it is as good as soup without salt. In conclusion, in order to overcome feelings of marginalization or of falling behind the Ndigbo must prioritize goals in the order of significance. Time is running out. School should take greater priority in Ndiigbo scheme of things than emphasis primarily on trading and acquiring naked cash. Child development should include training in self-respect, respect of others, working in unity, humility, honesty, and unselfishness. Education should focus on scientific and technical education aimed at full employment of the youth. Strengthening Igbo families would have the advantages of preventing crimes and violence as well as creating a secure environment.

Amazo:
Sheath your swordshuh Hahahahaha, what a joke grin. Why don't you bring out your arsenals and make war if you're so certain of winning. With a few exceptions, the majority of ibos leaders keep making political miscalculations both in federal and state levels that hinder their progress as a people, and then blame everybody else but themselves when the consequences of their choices come into play. Yorubas might be friendly but they aren't stüpid; they might be patient but they are deadly - as deadly as a venomous belcher’s sea snake. Mess with this tribe at your own peril. So it is now they know that they have economic interests and assets in Lagos worth protecting, yet always eager to disrupt the fragile political and social status quo in place that begets a peaceful and prosperous coexistence. Is this not self-sabotage? Do you think for a moment the Yorubas are blind to the subtle and tactical aim for a gradual takeover of Lagos State the Ibos are planning and acting out? No, the Yorubas have x-ray vision in this case and can see your plans to the bones. It's just right now the sensible Yoruba leaders are still busy with clearing out the "omoale" leaders (as they call it) from their zones and building a solid political foundation for a brighter future for the Yoruba region and its people. Once they are through (and they are almost through), then the ibos case will be opened and addressed thoroughly. What is happening right now that the Yorubas seem to "overlook" certain anomalistic behavior of the ibos is best described by their idiom that says "Iya yin owa ninu cooler" - hope I got it right. That is, your punishment is still inside the cooler; and you will eat it hot in due time, unless there's a change.

Lagos State is a very complex society, it is like the New York of America; and every tribe in Nigeria have significant populations in Lagos. Whether it is Binis, Hausas, Ijaws, Idomas, Itshekiris, calabars...or whether peoples from Warri, makurdi, maiduguri, Kabba and other places etc! Lagos State as a society is a perfect microcosm of the totality of the Nigerian society at large. However, it has become commonplace for only the ibos (who subconsciously due to the unfortunate civil war continue to see the Yorubas as their social, economic and political enemies) to want to rigorously compete against the Yorubas as if a battle for conquest and Lagos State is one of the spoils of war. That's why you can already witness the ibos designating Lagos as a "no-mans land" on one hand; but yet on other hand methodically trying to take over the so-called no-man's land. This is totally wrong and unacceptable. Lagos state can never be converted to Ibo land, not now and not in a trillion years from now. Every Nigerian tribe I believe have a part of the land no matter how small that is theirs or rather they are the custodians of due to ancestry, conquest or what have you. But the era of conquests is over and no individual tribe has the moral or legal right, or political might to encroach or seize another tribe's accustomed lands. Only the federal government can further share lands to/from tribes as they see fit, and even with all the federal might this can't be done with impunity anymore because fortunately for everyone the era of military rule is over. No federal government will ever share Lagos to any tribe other than Yorubas. It is their inheritance in Nigeria. The ibo inhabitants in Lagos need to understand this: Lagos was, is and always will be a Yoruba State. So the earlier you drop your scheming of "conquering" Lagos, the better for you.

Now, regarding taxation and the DEVELOPMENT of Lagos State, many ibos keep making erroneous claims. They say stuff like: without ibos Lagos State would not have developed the way it has; ibos pay the most taxes; ibos built Lagos; Lagos can't survive without ibos...blah blah blah! Seeing how far this fallacy is spreading, it's best the matter is addressed for the sake of clarity and peace. First off, taxation of businesses and individuals in Lagos State isn't peculiar or exclusive to ibos alone. Everyone pays tax, irrespective of tribe - heck, even Yorubas pay tax and are not exempted. The Lagos State government doesn't have a discriminating taxation policy. Its tax policy is blind to tribe. Ibos don't pay more than everybody else and Yorubas don't pay less that everybody else. The tax percentages are at fixed rates. If we're talking about "amount" of taxes being generated on a tribal basis, unless you're the accountant general of Lagos State, it remains arguable which tribe brings in the highest percentage of taxes. Quantity doesn't necessarily translate to bigger amounts. For example, one company's tax returns in VI can be greater than the tax returns of 100,000 businesses tax returns in Oshodi and Agege combined. So tax revenues can't be estimated based on "quantity" of businesses. Therefore, because there is a proliferation of businesses by ibos across Lagos doesn't necessarily mean or translate that ibos are the largest contributors of taxes. Also, taxes aren't collected along tribal lines; so it will be really difficult for any tribe to indisputably PROVE that they are the largest tax contributors. All the noise ibos keep making claiming to be the ones are unfounded assumptions originating from the most unrealistic parts of their figments of imagination. They have no documented facts with figures from the Lagos state government to legitimize such false claims. It just might be the Hausas, Binis, Ijaws or some other tribe - who knows!

As for development, whether economic and social, Lagos state even before it became a federal capital has always been thriving and prosperous. This is one of the major reasons Lagos later was selected to be a federal capital in the first place. It was an exceptionally promising state booming with exponential economic and social development potential vital for Nigeria's nation building. Lagos wasn't selected out of the blues or by raffle draw to become the federal capital. It was political genius to have done so. I can't dwell so much on this and anyone in doubt can look through the established history books and educate themselves. Development is progressive; it never stops or isn't meant to stop. After Lagos became a Federal capital, the development continued. After it lost that status, the development still continued and federal capital or no federal capital, one thing you could never strip from Lagos State is its super-economic potential. It was a state destined for greatness and nothing could stop it. Economically speaking, Lagos State was like the hand of Midas and everything that touches it turns to gold. To make money, isn't that the foremost reason all tribes have migrated to Lagos? Can't money be made elsewhere? Yes, but certainly not at the speed and success rate Lagosians seem to do it in Lagos. The economic potential was what brought the ibos to Lagos - it's all about coming to make money! Yes, just like everybody else that came, the ibos came to make money and make a life. Now that they have done so, the rest of the tribes can't rest again because the ibos feel they have arrived and arrogantly act as if they now own the state forgetting they met people here when they came. Ibos weren't the first tribe to prosper in Lagos, and ibos won't be the last; ibos aren't the first billionaires in Lagos, and ibos won't be the last. So why all the braggadocious display of economic arrogance towards other tribes, especially your hosts? Dangote (a billionaire in $$$$$) lives in Lagos and a considerable chunk of his business empire is in Lagos but he's not making noise and disturbing the peace in the land, so why must the ibos be harassing others and causing commotion just because they have attained some measure of wealth and every other tribe in Lagos should bow to you. It will never happen. This arrogant character has to stop. No one is intimidated by the ibos wealth because as far as Lagos is concerned, there are wealthy people from all tribes living there. Now, some more history, ibos didn't bring money to Lagos; rather they came to make money from Lagos. And ibos did, some legally and some illegally. Regarding taxes, whatever monies paid to the Lagos government wasn't made in Onitsha, Aba, Owerri, or Umuahia etc. It was made in Lagos and through Lagos. So it's only reasonable and proper that the taxes due be remitted to Lagos. If ibos are paying tens of billions naira in taxes to Lagos, then it's because they have already made hundreds of billions naira. And this is the same for all other tribes, so why are the ibos making a big deal out of this as if they're doing what nobody else is doing in Lagos. Businesses only pay taxes based on what you earn in the state and through the state. You don't pay what you didn't earn. So why are ibos talking as if the taxes they pay to Lagos was earned in Onitsha and they were compelled by the government to bring the money to Lagos; wasn't it earned in Lagos?

Regarding the social development of Lagos, did ibos develop Lagos? No! The ibos developed themselves. The ibos didn't build Lagos roads, bridges, schools, rail, or other public infrastructure. Who built all these? The federal and state governments using national and state resources respectively. So am I saying the ibos built nothing in Lagos? No, i'm not. Then what exactly did the ibos build in Lagos? Well, the ibos built THEIR homes, built THEIR houses, built THEIR businesses...etc! So essentially, the ibos built themselves in Lagos - no more, no less. You didn't build for Lagos, you built for yourselves in Lagos, same thing with other tribes, but the ibos keep talking blindly as if they are charity and what they built was handed over to society. Now you might want to say, What of the taxes they paid, didn't the government use taxpayers money to develop Lagos? Well, ibos are not the only ones who paid taxes. Hausas, ijaws, igallas, idomas, binis, urobos...also did too! Every tribe paid taxes in Lagos, heck even foreigners too. But yet, it's only the ibos making silly noise that they developed Lagos. This childish stupidity is annoying, and you should grow up mentally. If ibos built houses, you built it so that you can enjoy; if you built businesses, you built it so that you can enjoy...and so on! You built yourselves in Lagos, you didn't build Lagos. You developed yourselves in Lagos, you didn't develop Lagos. Lagos State is a natural economic magnet attracting investments from investors locally and globally. Those who bring in money are bringing in money to make more money or other benefits - and not for charity. There's always something to gain from Lagos. If all ibos and ibos assets were to be relocated from Lagos to the SE, would it destroy the Lagos economy? No, not in any way in reality. That "vacuum" (whether properties or investments) created will be filled almost instantly. As it is, there are thousands upon thousands of people rushing to get here daily, and millions more (both locals and foreigners) would come settle here if such a vacuum existed. Lagos is already in shortage of lands and many settlement projects are being built on the seas, like the Eko Atlantic city. I could go on but even this is enough to prove the versatility of the economic prosperity of the land flowing with milk and honey called Lagos state. For several years, the OBJ administration deprived Lagos of federal funds, yet Lagos didn't even feel it one bit. Lagos is a hub of prosperity on its own, take it or leave it. So the ibos shouldn't get it twisted, Lagos will continue to prosper with or without you. Nigeria needs the ibos and the ibos need Nigeria. But Lagos doesn't need the ibos; it's the ibos that need Lagos. Now stop creating any more conflict drama in Lagos than you already have and appreciate your hosts and other tribes. If the ibos are disgusted about paying taxes to Lagos and coexisting peacefully with mutual respect for the Yorubas hosts and other tribes inhabiting Lagos, then well the South East needs further development, the South East governments need taxes too to perform their obligations, so you're free to go to your home states and do the needful. You won't be missed!
