ProfessorHank: Applied for credential assessment to IQAS in January. This is August, 7 months after, yet no reply. I tracked my documents to it's destination. Has anyone used IQAS lately or this year? I need an advice or a good information. IQAS is slow. What is your profile showing now? |

okehsmiley: My heart is broken. Just saw my IELTS result with MOD on 27 July and I feel like giving up. I got 7.5,8.5,8,7.5 LRSW. This is my 4th attempt and I dont know what to do about the listening. Dont know If I should ask for a remark. I am tired! Invest a lot of time into trying out different listening tests especially the cambridge tests. I find that those are the closest to the actual test. Practice a lot of map tests too. Listening was a big challenge to me and I completely understand. Please don't give up. It will end in praise. |

I deleted the name and got a new passport carrying only my name and my father's name. it is the new passport that I used for IELTS and my ECA. The question is while filling a form post ITA they asked if I have used a different name before. What do I respond? Do I need some and same affidavit? |

ladymarshall: Ideally, paid and volunteer are contradictory. Volunteer work does not count for EE. Also what were you paid? A stipend or salary?
@bolded
"Federal Skilled Worker Program Minimum requirements Skilled work experience Your work experience must be:
in the same type of job as your primary NOC within the last 10 years paid work (volunteer work, unpaid internships don’t count) at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 National Occupational Classification (NOC) at least 1 year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous: full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours) equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours) full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours) You must show that you did the duties set out in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC, including all the essential duties and most of the main duties listed."
But if you still want to claim it as work experience, you have to get a reference letter. It would be nice if the letter omits the volunteer information and if your company do not have to mention the volunteer thing. Just full time employee, 40 hours a weeks, paid so and so. You should have pay slips, salary certificate or bank statements to back up the claim. Read more here

gbokun: Please did you remark all 4 sections or just speaking and writing. How long did the remark take? I want to apply for a remark too. I had L8 R 8.5 S7 W6.5. I applied for remarking in all components but God is so faithful, all the rest remained unchanged except writing that was upgraded from 6.5 to 7.5... I applied during the Christmas break so it took about 3weeks because of the long holiday. Apply for remarking, I won't discourage anyone from doing that but back it up with plenty prayers. It shall end in praise! |
