Yea upfront medical can help speed up ur application.
If you are ready to apply you can book for an upfront medicals at IOM Abuja
Ableman101:
Ok great. I appreciate you but I am more particular about this upfront medical thing and any other thing I can do upfront to make the process and application easier.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by amila20042001: 2:05pm On Jun 09, 2022
No one can authoritatively say when ircc gives decision.
We have seen applicants get decision in less than a month, we have also seen those whose applications have lingered more than 6 months.
Just do your best and drop your application latest before the end of next month.
Do your best and leave the rest to God.
Ableman101:
Ok but is there still much time for a program of Jan 2023
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by amila20042001: 12:39pm On Jun 09, 2022
Don't rush doing medicals now if you haven't gathered all necessary requirements for study permit application.
Reason : medical has only 1 year validity
Ableman101:
Great. Please how do I start please pending when I will be ready to start my application cos I am still waiting on admission.

Wait no further. Raise webform and send them emotional emails. Do it like a prescription : morning, afternoon and night
ontime22:
Hello NL Family, who has experience with family application. Please did you get PPR almost the same time as every other family member. I applied with my children, I have received my PPR since last week but my children's PPR have not come. IRCC sent medical request to them and it has been updated to passed for more than 1 month even before mine was updated. Do you think I should send an email or webform?

I think the probability of approval is very high.

for your medical go to IOM Abuja. those guys are very fast, and coordinated. Many people i have referred there got their Medicals updated after 2 or 3 days
oppemipo:
Good morning NL families,

I got a medical request this morning for a family of 3. I'm the primary applicant, anyway.

Please what is the chance of Visa approval after passing medical?

2. Which of the facility is faster to have the medical done? Qlife or IOM? Abuja or in Lagos?

Your contribution would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

i dont think you have an issue with the years you got ur WAEC and HND.
the most important thing is to establish a convincing purpose of visit by choosing a course that either shows academic progression or that is in line with your current job.
Udo!
Chidi2021:
Please gurus in the house help a brother, these issue is eating me up and l need tactical suggestions and directives.
l applied for admission to Canada for masters in business administration with my HND in business administration and management but was rejected then l reapplied for baccalaureate in that same course and school was rejected also then l went for BBA which was finally but my biggest headache is how to convince and push through for visa knowing that l got my waec certificate in 2004 and my HND in 2012 and most importantly l am 35 years.
I work in a school as the assistant administrative officer and the school has accepted to sponsor my studies in Canada so l can come back to add more knowledge and business strategies after studies but the major issue now is how do l coordinate the waec period and HND in order to convince the visa officers. Please,l need ideas and suggestions.what are my chances of pushing through.

Order for the GCMS notes to know the particular concerns of the VO.
It's prudent you do this before reapplying
sodmad:
Hello nairalanders, I applied for my study permit visa and I was refused. I'm 18years of age, admitted at University of Alberta for the fall term 2022.
Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit
application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet
the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and
Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can
demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements.

My sponsor was a board member of my high school who has promised to sponsor the overall best student to study in Canada.
Documents submitted:-

-passport
-LOE
-Proof of funds by sponsor - N12m
-Entrance Scholarship from school - $8000 CAD

Hi Hanzat
No portal is particularly quicker than the other. We have seen applicants that used either portal get decision in 2 weeks.

You can apply for visiting visa or sowp for your spouse provided you have the funds, but make sure you have a convincing home ties spelt out in ur sop
Udo!
Hanzat:
Hello Everyone, I am currently working on my study visa with my spouse as an accompanying.
Could you advice what portal has been known for quick response?
I have started completing the new portal.
Also, please advice is it okay to apply for my spouse as an accompany, even if we have the funds.
Thank you.

You dont need to explain an opening balance of 50m if the activities in the account through the 4-months period has substantial credits (i.e inflows) and if the closing balance shows a substantial increment in excess of the 50m.

but any lump sum (especially if it is not a regular inflow) must be explained.
Nkem99:
Good morning everyone
Please does someone need to explain a lump sum when the person’s opening balance is over 50m. Is it applicant or sponsor that will explain (the balance is from sponsor’s account)

If you have already gotten admission into an institution, you can go ahead and apply. Transcript is not a mandatory requirement for a study permit application.

Hope all other areas are well covered. Like POF, other supporting documents, well written SOP etc
Champay:
Hello people. I wish to apply for Canadian study visa. However my transcript is not out yet. My certificate is here alongside that of my professional courses. Can I go ahead?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by amila20042001: 7:04pm On Jun 06, 2022
Was patiently waiting for your response and I can tell you it's worth the wait. You nailed it, cos I wonder why someone who is patiently waiting and praying for a positive response will say Canada offers less of what he wants.

Anyways maybe he didn't find the right words to explicitly express what he has in mind.

Belle110:
My scope is widened so you do not need to tell me to do that. Regarding the earlier statement, it's not possible for a country to have less of what you are aiming for and you are still waiting since September for the visa. You should have moved on since then. I didn't say you are running away, but anybody waiting for 9 > months for a Canadian visa is definitely not going to be making this kind of statement. to be honest Canada offers less of what i want sef

It is what it is, you need this for international stability, fine, so never say it's less of what you want. Your own country didn't provide the types of things you are looking for and Canada may/will in the long run.

At this point, it meets exactly what you want, not less.

Have a lovely day too.

Worry less about what you filled abinitio.
Quickly upload the e medical slip given to you at the clinic via webform and emails. You should be fine.
IamTheJ:
Good day guys

I'm new to this forum. And I'm glad to see how everyone is happy to contribute to others' success by sharing relevant information and ideas.

I Submitted a study permit application on May 11, biometrics completed the next day. Used the New Portal. First time applicant. Have taken my "patience pill". lol!

I have a worry which I'm confident you guys can help me out with your brilliant ideas.

Reading through my study permit application summary, I just noticed something in the "Medical background question" section of the application form - the yes/no questions.

The question I'm a bit confused about is this one below:

"Have you had a medical exam performed by an IRCC authorized panel physician (doctor) within the last 12 months?"

- My question is:

Should someone who did an upfront medicals respond "YES" to this question?

I responded "NO" to the question.

Let me put the whole thing in context for you.

My "NO" response to the question was true at the time I was filling the form because I hadn't done any Medicals at the time.

Though I'd booked for an upfront medical for May 9, my application was ready to be submitted before that date (form completed, all documents uploaded). And I didn't want to wait for the medicals since I could still do it after submission.

However, for like 5 days I hard issues with submitting the application due to transaction being declined when I tried paying the fees with different cards (Naira Mastercard, then a dollar Mastercard).

While I struggled with the payment palaver, May 9 came and I went and did my medicals. On May 11, I succeeded with the transaction (through a friend's dollar debit card) and the application was submitted.

Considering the day I did the upfront medical (May 9) and the day my application was submitted (May 11), I now feel that the correct response to the question, in my case, should be "YES". (This is if the question applies to upfront medicals did before submitting the visa application).

- Now my worry is:

If the question applies to upfront medicals did before submitting the application, is there any risk that the VO may wrongly understand it as an intentional lie and interpreted is as a "misrepresentation". In this case, would there be need to raise a webform now to explain what happened? Should I just not worry about it?

NB: medical results are not yet updated in my portal.

Thanks in advance for your kind responses.

Include all includeables and you'd be fine in your next application.
pay for the first year tuition as a proof the funds are yours.

some salary, some yearly allw, some promotion allw, liquidation of mutual fund (but didnt include the liquidation letter and no reference to this)
yes there was a lot of difference; after all that came in
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by amila20042001: 2:30pm On Jun 03, 2022
how much is your monthly salary? (you may choose not to disclose the figure here), what percentage of the POF is your monthly salary?

These are some of the ways VOs use to ascertain if applicants are the original owners of the funds or are they just in the accounts for demonstration purposes.

Between September 2021 and Jan 2022, was there any tangible difference btw the opening balance and closing balance? ( this shows you were saving reasonable sums from your salary) and could have amass this POF from periodic savings

FaithCanny:

I provided payslips from sept 2021 to jan 2022 and the fund was in my account, used MBS. the fund was in the account before sept.

sorry to hear this. Put yourself together.
what are the reasons for the denial.
Order ur Notes, restrategize and refire
canada2022:
i was denied today.......after all these
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by amila20042001: 2:08pm On Jun 03, 2022
Did you show the source of funds?
Payslips if you receive salaries or invoices/receipts if you do business.
was the fund in your account from the start date when you printed bank statement and/or generated MBS ? For instance you printed bank statement from Jan - June, was the fund in the account before January?

There may be some peculiarity in the POF that was not quite convincing to the VO.
Kindly share so as to get the best of advise and also give room for others to learn

@Teemenzo,
Its disheartening, I have more than 30USD, 7m in savings account and was refused for financial status and personal assets. Haba! with landed properties too. No sponsor, if not for my future generation, I should consider myself ok here in Naija.

If I may ask, how can you get PNP in news Brunswick without work experience and even before graduating?

ShowYoung:
If you care aiming for PR, it doesn't mean 1 year PGD/PGD will not qualify you.

1 year PGD will qualify you for PR so also is 2 year program.

I need to analyze it:

Getting PR through CEC demands an applicant has a one year work experience in skill level A, B or C. If you graduate in a 2 year program, you will qualify for 2 - 3 years of Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), if you graduate from a 1 year program, you are qualified for 1 year of PGWP.

THE FEAR
The fear of many people is if you have 1 year PGWP and you don't get job on time, it may not be possible to have a work experience for 12 full calendar months.

THE SOLUTION.
Not only CEC which requires 1 year work experience is the only way to getting PR. Majority of people know about only CEC: hence making a myth that 1 year program cannot get you a PR. This is a blatant lie

If you know you don't have much to spend, you can go for 1 year program, you should target provinces where it's easy to get PR. In as much as you are ready to reside anywhere, you'll easily get your PR.

1. Target Atlantic provinces, for example, in New Brunswick, you can get a PNP before graduation, if you put this PNP into Express Entry, you'll gain 600 additional point which will qualify you for direct invitation to apply for PR. New Brunswick promises to give you work permit while this process is on-going.

2. AIP is also there for people with 1 year master's degree.

3. RNIP is there.

4. The worst case scenario, 1+1 strategy is there.

5. CEC is also there. People have used 1 year course for CEC.

I will advise people to refrain from sharing fake, unconfirmed and diluted information that may jeopardize the future decision of people.
