Congratulations boss! to God be all the glory. Thanks for sharing this info, go and succeed Ketima: Now I want to give a little advise to us all. Do that which you believe will work for you. Many of you here knows me well but note it that no one knows it all. We all learn from each other.
Today I got my wife's SOWP, just 3 months after submission even though I'm still in Nigeria. Sometimes we get adviced based on others peoples situations or event, but truth be told, things changes with time. When I got my study visa, family application refusals were high, hence we tend to advice to apply alone, then apply for spouse and kids(if any) when you arrive in Canada. In the past few weeks, we have noticed that family applications are recieving approval, those applying for diploma even when they already have Bsc are getting approval, those applying for PGD even after Masters are getting approvals.
So, What that matters is let your application be top notch. Avoid any loophole. Be your own VO. Review your application yourself and leave the rest to God's grace.
So, I advice henceforth, if you're a family, apply together, worst scenario, it will be rejected and you people can refire again. If you're applying for a degree lower than what you already had, ensure that your prove beyond doubt why you're going for such course. Nothing is impossible in this Canada journey.
For SOWP, then we were advised to wait till you get to Canada before applying. But with the recent delays in SOWP application, applicants are waiting 8 months + before getting decisions. So if you applied alone and got approval, you may as well work toward submitting your spouse (family) application because you never can tell, it may even get approved before you leave so that both can leave together.
And again for those not coming forth to encourage others with there timeline, is not that you're compelled to do it or people beg or attack you, is just to help the newbies learn vital document's to submit as not all will have time to read from the beginning. I personally have 3 people I helped applied for and got approval this month and I told them to come share their testimony here to encourage others and they promised but still hasn't. But It was still from sharing of timeline that they came to me to help them in their applications. So please let's do well to help each other because this journey has no end until we all become citizens. At any stage, you will need help and this nairaland forum is top notch for such.
For my wife SOWP, I will still share it here for others to learn and as well in the SOWP forum.
We're all doing well and God will bless us all.
Lianna2020 you motivated me to apply for her early and I'm grateful I did. |

Is your dad still active in service or does he have his own business? You need to show the source of the POF you provided. Also, from what you wrote, you didn't present your personal statement of account, from what I have seen so far, it's a turn off for VOs. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WHILE YOU WAIT FOR YOUR NOTES TO ARRIVE!!! 1. complete the first year tuition (the remaining 4200$ about 1,400,000) 2. Have your dad transfer living expense to your personal account (10,000$ about 3,300,000) and back it up with a gift deed 3. If your dad has a business, in ur LOE, say you are a supervisor in the business and back it up with some docs (after all you're supposed to be helping out in a family business). Anyways this depends on the course you intend studying. 4. Next application show your dad's pay slip (4 months) and/or business receipts or invoices 5. Include you account statement in your next application. MY TAKE, GURUS ARE FREE TO CONTRIBUTE Samlolly28: Thank you very much amila. I am 25 years old, single and I am being sponsored by my dad. My tuition fee is 11,200 CAD per year (2 years course) and I paid 7,000 CAD for the first semester. I presented 2 of my dad's account 5m and 4m respectively and also 3 of his landed documents (mostly houses he built and rented out) backed up with affidavits stating I am his next of kin and sometimes help in managing those properties cos of he's growing old. I Finished NYSC in April currently unemployed . |

Sorry to hear this! Are you self sponsored? How much is ur tuition and how much deposit did you make? How much did you present as POF? Are you married? Did you present any landed property? Do you have a business or you are gainfully employed? Answers to theses questions and many more can help provide clue on how to handle your reapplication, while you wait for your notes to arrive. Samlolly28: Good morning guys, I just got served cold breakfast. Requested for gcms notes on 30th of may it should be here in about 2-3 weeks. My application was refused solely based on assets and financial situation please guys I need help and pointers on how to go about re-application. |

it is wise to leave the amount in the account, but if you must transact with it, it should not be substantial amount. On rare occasion, IRCC has requested that applicant upload an updated account statement. Hence, the reason to tread with caution goldenedem: Please I need a reply on this . Please |

Absolutely not! 2. If I asked a question here and I get answers within few hours or a day, then I'm expected to also provide my timeline within few hours or a day after my PPRToceen2022: Lemme tell you a straight fact... There's nothing like looking at this thing in another angle. No matter how long someone has been on this thread, it's certain that the person joined one day. So imagine when him/her Joined, and started asking questions, no one answered, please tell me, will the person still be here? Absolutely not! They may end up paying agents huge amount of money, because this platform is the only reliable DIY you can ever see. Even agents always hang around for information/knowledge.
This platform has been in existence for over a decade (based on the other threads I've checked out). And it continues to be because many people keep giving information based on new developments. If it was to stopped in thread 10 or 11, we will only be available with outdated information... Providing timelines keep this thread going with latest updates and informations.
If I asked a question here and I get answers within few hours or a day, then I'm expected to also provide my timeline within few hours or a day after my PPR. Anything outside that shows I'm pathetically ungrateful, and this applies to anyone who is on this thread. |

You go sabi argue blindly, you fit even cry join d argument. You are new here, you dont know how we roll here. How many people don tell you say nobody dey attack nobody, na so we de roll for here. Learn na. stop crying us a river Innit2022: Hahahahaha. No vex Old G Nairalander. I really didn't know nairaland existed before now ooo or it is based on when you register a profile that makes you a newbie. I am sorry Sir/Madam. You really need to widen your thought process about resources tho. If the whole of Nigeria comes here, I still retain my point which is 'There are positive ways to address a concern rather than your approach'
'Hey @xxxxx, please could you share your timeline, it will really go a long way in helping others here' or 'Hey @xxxxx, please could you share your timeline, it will really go a long way in helping others here, here is the information you need. hoping to receive your timeline'.
Which one is it is disheartening and you are expecting help from other people and you want them to help you and all the negativity you brought to the guy because he announced he had received his PPR. What if he didn't announce. take a second and think!
If you would ask me, perhaps your personality is the one that needs a reform. You will get much more from people from being positive no matter how frustrated you maybe!

My dear you are about the 4th person telling him that his view is not valid and that nobody is attacking nobody. He has shown his type of personality and how he reacts to external stimuli. The moniker is relatively new on nairaland, and maybe someone told him to come here and get all the answers to his numerous questions regarding Canada Japa. Them tell am say the salary big but them no tell am say em go work Bobomaigida: Please Innit2022, stop approbating and reprobating, no one is forcing anyone to drop their timelines, but you see people get PPR, drop the news, claim they will drop timeline later and come to ask other questions without dropping their timelines. If every one does the bolded like you have advised, the thread will be a dead thread, cos all of us will come take and not give and when we are taking and taking then there will be nothing left. In fact, what does it take to drop a timeline, even if it is the basic details just drop drop drop. |

You just cried more than the bereaved! To the bolded, no reasonable person will always want to benefit immensely without giving a little. By the way we're done with the subject and everyone has moved on, try to do so also. Innit2022: This attack is totally unnecessary and uncalled for.
Yes, it would be nice if he posts his timeline to satisfy your curiosity and others given the fact that this platform helps everyone. But if he does not you need to accept that and deal with it, rather than sounding the way you do.
Madam/Sir, 3 days is not a long time not to post. People deal with excitement differently and no one knows any1s story here. Worse off is your entitlement that you think he owes a duty to post immediately and if not others will not respond to him. If everyone went attacking everyone like you have done too, I do not think anyone will comment here about PPR, so be patient!
The truth is knowing his timeline will not influence your application, it's just a nice to know. So you do not have to be a pooper about it! |

You claim you're taking your time to put it together, After 3 days of receiving ppr. I wonder if every other person behave like this, will this thread remain relevant and/or informative. Congratulations to you and your family. Please share the documents you submitted and how much POF did you submit? could be of help to someone next door Spicy12345: Its PPR guys. Long Post alert
I have been a silent reader of Nairaland since the beginning of this year and everything that led to this point (obtaining our PPR), Nairaland contributed to it. We started this journey in 2021. I started off with some countries which eventually did not work out. My husband had applied to a couple of schools and we either received rejections or no responses at all. Fast forward to January, my sister was leaving for Canada at the time and came visiting so I requested that she helped apply to a school. We followed up and received admission to Centennial College for a Postgraduate Certificate program in Cybersecurity. It is also worthy to note that we applied to several schools in the UK, I think about 6 or 7 of them and got admission to all. Amidst all these, my husband insisted on Canada. We applied for my husband's Study visa, my Spousal Open Work Permit and a Visiting Visa for my 19 months daughter on the 1st of April, 2022. This happened when everywhere I turned to for assistance on how to proceed with these applications kept giving warning signs for my husband to apply alone. My husband insisted that we all apply together and back it up with prayers and I agreed. We gathered all our documents and applied with faith and the wait started. Sometimes, I would wake up in the middle of the night and say my prayers sometimes with tears. Sometimes, I and my husband would find it difficult to sleep at night. I would disturb my sister from time to time even during her busy schedule just to find out if there was anything to do to hasten the process. I am not a very patient person but my husband who has more patience among the both of us started to worry too on the 1st of June. We kept praying and hoping that God comes through. I felt our application could be better but believed God will use the documents we had submitted to speak for us. We noticed that his passport was due to expire in October and then we decided to apply for that as quickly as possible. On the 5th of June, my husband came back home worried which increased my worry as well but we kept telling each other that our application was more complex so it may take them a while to get to it. On the 7th of June at around 7:30am, my husband called my attention and, in his words, "it is already happening o" I ran to his phone and saw 3 emails with "do not reply", my heart skipped several beats and I remember saying to him, if we were rejected, we fire again. I went straight for the laptop but was not fast enough as I kept shaking. My husband grabbed it and signed in. At this point, I hissed and said aloud "Eligibility just started and its a ghost update", then he said hold on let me scroll down and there it was Original Passport Request. I screamed my lungs out. Our timeline: GCKey 1st time applicant Application: 1st of April, 2022 Upfront medicals: 26t of March and updated to pass on the 21st of April, 2022 Biometrics: 14th of April, 2022 PPR for Study, SOWP, and VV on the 8th of June.
I would say it has been God and I am putting this out there to encourage people most especially families who are too afraid to apply together. Do it, research, make your application as tight as possible, and back it up with prayers. I reached out to only one person on this thread who happened to be going to the same school as my husband, @centennialguy, thank you for your help, I appreciate it. I wish everyone the best and to all PPR hopefuls, your time is now.
It will end in praise |
