Presently other operators are flying. So the reasons about caverton by the state government is just childish. We have more than three operators in the state presently. Let them shutdown every operator since they too are lifting people to offshore platforms and bringing in people. |
That's why I personally say that it's easier to handle a hungry family than a sick family. Gasping for air is never something one should wish for himself when concern for food would never even be considered when it happened but to make provision for air to keep you to live first. Let maintain stay at home for now even as it's not easy. |
With what is happening in United States of America, it really shows that covid is real and scary. Stay at home for now. It's easier to live when hungry than gasping for air with a ventilator where food would never be a thing of concern anymore, but to have air and live. Be wise |
Why can't you people believe something for once, everything to you people must be SCAM. Just hope and pray that a time would not come where some people would begin to see their Personal life and existence as Scam. Or to the extreme that the parents who gave birth to them are SCAM BruncleZuma: |
This is what most Governors in the Niger Delta are doing. Not the ones going about unproductive friction with the Federal government. Governor Ayade is actively doing is part in developing the state with industry, Bayelsa State have been buying the rice seedlings produce from Cross River. Delta massively attracting some investors who are leaving Rivers State. Akwa Ibom doing greatly. Meanwhile Governor Wike is busy going about playing politics with everything. Apart from infrastructure which mostly been accused of centralizing in only Obiakpor his local government . Meanwhile everyone is doing infrastructure across state in the Niger Delta governor Wike cannot point to a direct state industrialization drive by his administration. Be it even I Agriculture God bless Akwa Ibom State. God bless Nigeria!!! |
Go through the pictures and your question would be answered BruncleZuma: |
Here you come again, Southern stand with Wike and Enough of this Malam. Your Statement have already define you, you people go about every where tribalizing everything you come across. We have more than Four Governors in South South States, where as I am talking choppers are still operational lifting personnel to offshore platforms. They are not foolish. South South don't wake up and support what is wrong. So keep your advice to your self because we are not Tribalistic. MetaPhysical: |
Not international flight, this is local flight. And who told you that flying on air gives you automatic virus. extol1: |
Niger Delta,we are not foolish. There are chopper flights around Bayelsa, Delta State,Akwa Ibom to different offshore platforms drilling and producing. The oil company are more safety conscious in Health and the environment, so they have already standard check against Covid19 better. Presently trucks conveying food and others raw material with drivers and motor boys are entering the state because they are exempted from the Lock Down. Your likes can't incite us to do the the foolish things. Wike should avoid playing and claiming over I too know which would not help the people of the state. mrvitalis: |
My concern even extend to the ignorant ones supporting and hailing the Governor's action iammo: |
CrimeFocusNews.Com Home News Rivers lockdown: FG hits Wike; Police Commissioner, Air Force Base Commander in trouble The Federal Government said on Wednesday that the two Caverton Helicopters pilots arrested in Rivers state by Governor Nyesome Wike over lockdown violation were duly authorized to fly. This was disclosed by the Minister of Aviation Senator Hadi Sirika while briefing journalists in Abuja. He said the state Commissioner of Police and the Commander of Air Force Base in Port Harcourt that witnessed the arrest of the pilots exhibited dangerous ignorance and lack of competence and would have to answer for their actions. He said: “ We gave the arrested pilots approval to fly, civil aviation is on exclusive list item number three there. So no other person but the Federal Government has authority to legislated upon. So also is the Nigerian Airforce, Armed Forces are also on exclusive list, there is no other person that has the legal rights to legislate upon.” “The Air Force officer who jumped the commander in Chief and ignored, also jumped the Chief of Defence staff and ignored who jumped the Chief of Air Staff and ignored, to call a governor to come into the property of the Federal Government of Nigeria to make an arrest, exhibited dangerous ignorance and incompetence grossly.” “The police that followed the governor to go in there, exhibited dangerous ignorance from our perspective in civil aviation.” “Whether we gave approval for the flight, yes we did and we did in national interest. All of these flights are for the purposes of improving the national revenue to which Rivers State is the greatest beneficiary.” “Those flights by Caverton, Aero Contractor, Arik, Bristo and were for national interest and improved national revenue. At a time where oil has gone below $30 per barrel and the cost of production is $30. r“In the wisdom of President Muhammadu Buhari he thought that this be allowed so that the nation will not be crippled and national revenue will not be lost. It was against this background that we have the authority and being exclusively on the exclusive list and we have the powers in civil aviation, guided by the Civil Aviation act 2016 approved such flights. “Those flights were approved lawfully, legally and correct. So yes, we will do everything lawful and legal and reasonable to get those pilots back and operations will continue in national interest. |

I actually believe you have read headlines about monies of 20k been shared with pictures attached even here on Nairaland. Just like you expect the President to be giving you brief per day or even hours when responsible agencies are doing that. I don't think as a person I should be going about every headlines to download as a proof to you when you can get it from national notable media station or newspapers However, I believe that sometimes we intentional believe what we want to believe even with proof against our believe. So this is not New to some of us. You get a proof, next will be is it justifying, next it will be that the proof method is wrong and so on and so forth. As the president have good intentions, certainly he has way of checking the messenger via EFCC,ICPC and even the public. Cherez: |
No state absolutely depends on a cooperate organization not even Shell or LNG. The Truth is that it takes actions like this to make firm move out from a state bit by bit. And you think other operators think they would be immune to the governor ways of doing things, hence the national aviation industry have issue a warning to the state government inclusive of the so called others operators you are talking about What makes you think people will easily allow Rivers State indigene to take up position. When the state is not in good terms with them. It takes unique skills to be in the aviation industry And shell and other multinational have been using this guys for years and you think they will put the risks of their personnel because they want to employ indigene. This is not indigene company. Nodogragra4me: |
Gov. Wike keeps driving investors out of the state by his inappropriate ways of doing things. He sometimes shutdown a whole first class hotel in Rivers State and now caverton. Presently the Dufil group, manufacturer of Indomie are working because they fall under essential like caverton. There logistic for raw material and personnel are allowed through air or Land in movement. No wonder private individuals and corperate organization are not donating anything to the state government who despite his plea. Others neighboring State are gradually catching up on on this to their advantage as it's very unfortunate that some people are even hailing the governor. So unfortunate to the Rivers State economy. Corona will certainly come to pass. |
We shall certainly prevail. God bless Nigeria!!! |
Yes they have and that is why they are working with state government who along work with the community leaders and youths where this school is located. Mind you this school are in communities attended by the community people it's not a Boarding school but a public school attended by the poorest or poor mostly within. So they all know themselves as proximity to the school and there Houses are not far fetch. babytoun: |

What is most important now is that the conditional cash transfer for the poorest is going on, the sending of relief material is ongoing, the school feeding is also around the corner for pupils at their home.etc. Holding regular briefing never a priority for now. Cherez: |
This is the way to go while children are at home with their parents as food would be taken directly to their Houses. Good one from the federal government. God bless Nigeria!!!
|
Good one Mr Governor. God bless Anambra state. God bless Nigeria!!! |
It's very pathetic how people across the world, just wish their leaders death. UK of wonderful as many believe can do that, so even here in our country Nigeria should not be seen as something new. They are still doing that here, so it's across the world, we have them everywhere. chatinent: |
Is it 10billion naira that people use to develop a whole state? You can't incite us we are mature, go somewhere else with this your immature style of life. So because of 10billion we should go and pick arms. We Niger Delta people are not cheap to be used for that and if you are a brother from the Delta then I am disappointed in your disposition. We have grown past this stage. What Wike did is wrong. Before even let say the federal government donations, Lagos had already set up isolation centers and started Major things. Which were shown everywhere. What has the governor significantly done already for the people of Rivers State before even crying foul on the federal government. Alvin212: |
If it were possible to transfer every pressure and anxiety Lagos State is getting now to governor Wike and scale the amount to even N20 billion naira, Lagos State would gladly do that without hesitating. Governor Wike should be mature enough to understand the situation at hand rather than playing politics with corona virus. No wonder even individuals and cooperate organization are finding it difficult to contribute to the Rivers State government significantly on COVID-19 because of the character of the governor. Individuals and cooperate organization are donating greatly to the Lagos State government. Wike should put his house in order. Odogwu999: |
Good one Mr Governor. God bless Rivers State. God bless Nigeria!!! |
Take it easy bro!! APCNig: |
Some people by all means just want to ensure that the government of Nigeria must not be appreciated in the fight against the virus. That's why they keep predicting doom for the nation after seeing the fight by our health Experts and government to mitigate this Corona virus which is a big success compare to what we're getting from other foreign nations. Your doom by God's grace shall not prevail God willing. Keep the good work for the fight against the virus Nigeria. God bless Nigeria!!! |
And I also think for now, some of us still have the opportunity to chose between the two. Dear, I chose hungry! sapientia: |
A sick hungry family is bad market, I must tell you !! sapientia: |
I have faced hunger, and I prefer it to the kind of pain and trauma that corona virus is associated with. Even as we thank God that ours is not yet and pray would not be severe as that of Italy or Spain where people are scrambling to live through Respirator. It would be terrifying to handle the sick situation and hunger at once. It's better I handle the hunger. I can't be gasping for air to breathe as the virus is associated to this.instead I manage without food for a while and still have capacity to breathe well NaijadrivaCars: |
