In some parts of Africa, kids were forbidden to eat eggs! It is assumed that kids that starts eating eggs early will have the tendency to pilfer or steal in their future. How our parents came up with this unscientific conclusion is still a mystery. Egg is one of the cheapest protein and it should be given to kids and in many quantities. . It is an egg. Today is world egg day! Have you eaten an egg today? World Egg Day is a unique opportunity to help raise awareness of the benefits of eggs and is celebrated in countries all around the world.World Egg Day was established at the IEC Vienna 1996 conference when it was decided to celebrate World Egg Day on the second Friday in October each year. Funny enough, a lot has been attributed to the egg, from idioms like “don’t count your chicks before they are hatched “ to economics principles. One of the evidence or attributes of an underdeveloped country or third world country is high consumption of carbohydrates , while developed countries have a high protein diet. Well, some school of thoughts has argued this notion citing cultural and environmental influences. Egg is a very good and cheap protein, though here in Nigeria people tend to stay away from egg due to some “medical” reasons by their “doctors.” It has been advised that children should consume more of the eggs. The nutritional benefits of eggs are numerous. Well… eggs are an excellent source of protein, with a single large egg containing 6 grams.Eggs contain all the essential amino acids in the right ratios, so our bodies are well equipped to make full use of the protein in them.Eating adequate protein can help with weight loss, increase muscle mass, lower blood pressure and optimize bone health… to name a few A single large boiled egg contains : Vitamin A: 6% of the RDA. Folate: 5% of the RDA. Vitamin B5: 7% of the RDA. Vitamin B12: 9% of the RDA. Vitamin B2: 15% of the RDA. Phosphorus: 9% of the RDA. Selenium: 22% of the RDA. Eggs also contain decent amounts of Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Calcium and Zinc. This is coming with 77 calories, 6 grams of protein and 5 grams of healthy fats.Eggs also contain various other trace nutrients that are important for health.Really, eggs are pretty much the perfect food, they contain a little bit of almost every nutrient we need. According to well researched work at authoritynutrition.com, it has been found that egg has been so demonized, if egg is that bad, the global community will not have a day dedicated to this great gift of nature. https://etimesafrica./2016/10/14/world-egg-day-lies-doctors-and-our-parents-told-us-about-eggs/ read more nutritious facts of egg @. |

It is unfortunate but one thing is that we have come to terms with reality, we have refused to treat our animal well. I am going to be a bit harsh here but honest. It is pathetic. My anger button has been pushed and I have no choice but to let people know my mind. There is nothing wrong slaughtering and eating animals but we need to do it the proper way. Honestly, I love animals more than humans and I have no regrets saying this. Animals have been here before us, we need to respect them. The Bible and the Quran says “Out of all God’s creations, humans are the most beloved” but this actually doesn’t mean you are better than animals, it’s just God’s love, so stop hyping yourselves! I have seen animals so faithful to their owners that they even lurk around their graves. Animals are just innocent, if you study animas ,there are a whole lot of life lessons we human can acquire from them. I am also not advocating for vegetarianism , far from it. I eat beef but I am particular how the beef is prepared, where the cow was staying and how the poor animal was treated. I know that a lot of my readers will be jolted by my stand. There should not be any cause of alarm. Even in religion, animals are being given some level of respect. They have life and we can not give that life. I think respecting the life in animal, is indirectly respecting the Giver of that life. Life is sacrosanct! Your religious leaders (Muslims and Christians) deceive you with fake miracles everyday but animals perform genuine miracles! Are you aware that an elephant can communicate with other elephants miles away without making a sound? That a single strike from a black mamba is potent enough to kill over twenty people? That a shark can detect a drop of blood in an ocean? These are genuine miracles and the list is endless! https://etimesafrica./2016/09/02/animals-do-they-really-need-any-right-here-in-africa-as-they-do-in-west/
