Romance › Re: To Marry Or Not To Marry..can this end well ?? by Amya(f): 8:41pm On Dec 04, 2012
@Op. Being in love with someone is quite different from loving someone.

Whether or not you'd admit it to yourself, you still love the first girl even though you no longer feel that particular emotion we all associate with being in love. You still love her that's why you feel shitty about it all, that's why you're seeking an advice here. The guilt and the bad feeling you have just has to do with you still feeling protective towards and knowing subconsciously that you may marry another person and it'll end terribly for you.

Being in love (as we all know it) is fueled by an unknown emotion, that's why this particular type of love does not stand the test of time, that's why it fades. Whoever you meet now, fall in love with and get married to, it'll be wise for you to bear it at the back your mind that it'll still fade in time. Genuine love is matured and simple and lacks youthful passion.

Don't be in hurry to ditch this girl because of 'lost feelings' you may never find someone like her again. Give one it more try. Try to revive those feelings the way you'll revive a loveless marriage.

Love is important in marriage, but the most important things are also compatibility, faithfulness, trust and most important of all, friendship.

Think twice before you throw this all away.

Lovely write-up. Like the word play and sarcasm.

What amazes me still is how humans with brains and reasoning faculties continue to justify what is clearly an act that is the direct opposite what the bible preach. Some people are ready to spill their blood defending their "daddies in the lord". All I can see clearly though is those preachers and their ignorant flock are all hypocrites! They all preach that which present their greed in a good light and omitting those things that puts them in a bad light.

I still haven't figured out the hypnotizing techniques those men of God use that turn their members into mindless zombies. People that can't think for themselves. Since people's main aim in going to churches these days is not to worship God, but pray to gets some favorable perks and benefit in their lifetime and to also worship their pastors, why wont they be hypnotized?
For all those who'll say I shouldn't judge a man of God because he's ordained by God, I will, so sue me!

I actually do feel sorry for the guy. Someone who would go the whole length of changing his phone number and moving out of his apartment all just to avoid you must have really loved you. But you broke his heart. I hope he doesn't close his heart to love forever, and meet that one person that deserves him.

For me, when a guy goes out of his way to do something really nice for me especially when I see no 'ulterior motive' in the picture, I really appreciate it so much so that I feel the need to pay back that niceness. I can't pay him back in 'kind' but I've been known to declare boozd for him and his friends and pickup the tab. That's my way of paying back nice gestures. I sometimes give monetary gifts to those who won't necessarily see that as an insult.

Listen carefully. Here's what you do. . .

1. I hear the root of the ugu (pumpkin)plant contains cyanide in it. Dig it up, take a big bite, chew and swallow. Wait for a while and Vooooom! All your problem's solved.

2. Take a thick strong rope, make a strong knot (called the hangers noose you can check how to make it online) on your ceiling fan. Stand on a chair, put your head into the knot, kick off your chair and Voooooom! Problem solved!

3. Go to the edge of a Cliff, run and jump off screaming "I am finished" and here's the good part, you would indeed be finished.
Others are. . .

4. Guns- remove the safety, put barrel on your head and pull the trigger.

5. Run into a fast moving vehicle.

6. Take all the medication you can find around the house and swallow. . .(Swallow all at once)

Here's the few stuffs I could think of.

WARNING!!!
* do not any of these if any person or persons are around. They may foil it for you, and we don't want that.

Hey just kidding, please don't kill yourself.
In truth however, I find it quite hard to feel any pity for you. Youth pastor? Choir master? And you still screw? OMG!!! Guess you'd be one of those people who give killer glares to those people they term unbelievers. In truth you're one of them hypocrites who do everything those people in "the world" do. Put still pretend you gist with the holy spirit at your spare time.

Shag a girl till she gets pregnant choi! You guys must have done it a gazillion times.

Your problem is between yourself and that God you claim to worship. You can't have it both ways.

P.S. Pastors daughter! Chineke! Haven't I said they are always the worst!
Romance › Re: Things You Will Never Do In A Relationship Again? by Amya(f): 10:25am On Nov 11, 2012
Use the word "I love you" too liberally. You'd surely feel like a fool for saying it when the relationship becomes short-lived.
Christianity Etc › Re: Oritsejafor Gets Private-Jet As Birthday Gift From Church Members-(pics) by Amya(f): 10:18am On Nov 11, 2012
Karl marx said "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people".

It has been demonstrated here on this thread where people see truth and turn a blind eye to it. Where people make excuses for their pastors, and where mere men are revered like gods.

One day, I hope every eye would be opened to see the truth.
I'm not saying pastors are supposed to live poorly; wretched and tattered, but they and their families should live modestly, because Jesus who they supposedly follow and preach, is the epitome of modesty.
Romance › Re: Ladies , Can You Date Or Marry Someone That You Are Not Attracted To? by Amya(f): 8:26pm On Nov 10, 2012
There are 2 basic types of attraction.

Physical attraction which has to do with looks, hotness, sexiness, chemistry e.t.c

And emotional attraction which is basically when there's a deeper connection beyond the physical. Something you can't explain and has nothing to do with looks. E.g soulmates

For me physical attraction is not necessarily a criteria for relationship or marriage. I'd rather prefer them both, but if I'm only left with one option, then emotional attraction it is.

Romance › Re: Getting Married In 2 Months - Why Does He Distrust Me So Much? by Amya(f): 7:58pm On Nov 09, 2012
Chrisbenogor: Errrrr amya whats up? Me I dont understand your post undecided undecided undecided, this guy has planned a whole wedding which was two months away as at when she initially posted an that's just to get her virginity too? Seriously being a virgin is not that valuable nowhuh At least not to me sha.

Plus all I was saying is that we are all not perfect, does that mean insecure people should not have relationships because they are? I need the guys side of the story.
The guy is a player. He's used to chopping around. He meets her one day, wants to date her she agrees. When it came to sex talk, she says she's only going to have sex with the person she eventually marries.

He sees she's a nice girl, a wife material and makes an instant decision. He proposes to her after 3 months of dating and they start chopping each other! He feels he owns her now since she's his fiancée, and he disvirgined her.

His insecurity stems from the fact that she's open now to the world, and he can't bear the thought of another one screwing her. It's become an obsession for him. He see her as his own personal belonging, his conquest and wants it to remain so.

She on her own part screwed him because they were getting married. If they are no longer getting married, she'd lost 2-0. No virginity, no man.

candieangel12: Watched a movie a couple yrs back called "For Colored Girls". It was a very emotional and touching film. You all should watch it.

There was this one scene when the abusive boyfriend threw their 2 children out the window because he was pissed at his gf. The kids died.

If you are in an abusive relationship, both men and female, walk away b4 its too late.
Saw that movie. Very touching.
Romance › Re: Ladies, Will You Stay With A Guy Who Physically Abuses You? by Amya(f): 10:48am On Nov 09, 2012
Vivian Chinaza, I wish life were that simple.
I wish you trying to be a good person who keeps the peace doesn't mean you won't be stuck with an abusive psychopath. Life is not black and white. Many people suffer from what they don't deserve. And many people enjoy what they don't deserve.

I know the school of thought you believe in. I saw it all from the other cheaters thread. Men and women are not equal, and if only they know their roles would there be peace. I wish it were that simple. NEVER EVER make excuses for a man's bad behavior! It's you living in a fools paradise! I guess you are not married. You may be a saint, but making that mistake of marrying a bad abusive man is the end of you. It has nothing to do with how good and loving you're to him.

P.S. At this stage, you're deeply grounded in your beliefs, and nothing anyone would do or say can make you change your opinion. But all I have to say to you sister is, you got it all wrong.

Romance › Re: Getting Married In 2 Months - Why Does He Distrust Me So Much? by Amya(f): 12:42pm On Nov 07, 2012
The OP's reason for bringing her problem here on Nairaland is not necessarily for advice. She's here because she really wants to justify and validate the guy's action. What she wants to really hear is how things are going to get better if she eventually marries him. But people are becoming too honest and no one is really validating his issues as normal. For all those saying run, I promise you she's going to get married to him and hope for the best. A BIG mistake.

Obviously her virginity is very important to her, that's why she said somewhere that she promised she was only going to give herself sexually to someone she's going to marry . So she met the guy and let him know about her no marriage no sex rule. The guy quickly engages her so he'll get to screw her as he pleases (explains the long engagement) and now she doesn't have her prize(virginity) anymore and you really expect her to leave him. She'd rather stick it out than walk away. . . Too bad!

@chrisbenegor. . . Just see things for what they really are.

Events › Re: Wedding Mistakes ~ What Would You Have Done Differently? by Amya(f): 7:57pm On Nov 06, 2012
Not married yet. But I'd like to have a very simple wedding. 50 or less guests no frills. . . No asoebi.

I went for a friend's wedding. At the reception, just as the bride and groom are ushered in, I (ever the shrewd one) realized there was something off and not right somewhere. It took me awhile to notice what was amiss. Alas! There was no music playing! The bride and groom, the train and asoebi men and women were just shuffling in awkwardly. It was really weird! I think they forget to get a DJ or something. There was no music throughout the reception. It didn't end there. Trying to impress people(maybe) they decided item 7 would be all buffet style with just one meal! Rice! And dot like meats. The whole guest joined a queue (just 1 queue) and it took me over an hour to get to that point where I was in front of a stern looking woman who was doing the dishing (so much for buffet) the ration + the method the food was dished, I felt I was in a homeless shelter begging for food. Terrible makeup, wife looking like water would break any second (yeah she was heavily pregnant) this is
by far the worst wedding I've seen in my life!

What's with you and proposal sef?

The only thing I saw you writing about is how he dotes on you and likes you. What about you? Do you like him? If he asks you out, will agree? If he eventually proposes, will you accept?

You never for once said anything about how you feel about him. For all I know, it could just be an ego thing for you to feel desirable and wanted by someone coveted by many, whereas you don't really feel anything for him.
